My husband and I are two new octogenarians Trying to navigate the healthcare system and the changes we’ve had to make in our move from South Florida to Las Vegas Nevada. It is very difficult to see an MD Unless you are referred to a specialist. Even then all calls seem to be sent to a call center where the people again, seem to be told to do anything they can to put off giving someone an appointment. Enough bad news.
. Rebecca Crowley, A member of Astrana Healthcare is an exceptional intermediary, an excellent diagnostician , Who is, fortunately for us, in possession of people skills.

I really like Dr Miranda as she takes time to listen to you. She's close by where I live being in Sun city. The only problem is that she's always running late so I had a 1:30 at appointment and didn't see her until 2:10. Also when you call the phone number you get a main switchboard for the whole Southern Nevada and it's sometimes hard to talk right to the office. So I try to make appointments in the morning if at all possible.

Multiple cancellations of my appointments.. over a month .. some without even informing me until AFTER I arrived. Front end reception was rude, refused to take accountability, acted like I should be perfectly ok with their incompetence. Provider was even worse. Immediately started gaslighting me acting like SHE was the victim instead of me who they caused to not have my rx for almost a month because they kept canceling. Claiming she was being “screamed at” when it was just my raised voice out of sheer frustration of being screwed over time and again and them trying to turn the tables and act like it wasn’t their fault. Unbelievable that so called professionals acted this way.. not a one of them had any concept of just accepting they had messed up and apologizing. They all blamed each other. The arrogance and the passive aggressive comments from the provider made me realize that “do no harm” was something she missed in her oath. I didn’t want her to even finish the exam because I have zero confidence in her ability to provide care. I actually got the feeling that she would retaliate in some way.. I’m switching clinics and providers immediately. That was THE WORST experience I’ve ever had at a doctor’s office. If I could give a lower score I would. By the time I left and got in my car I felt abused, drained and defeated .. not cared for. Nobody should have to navigate weird head games with a creepy PA when seeking medical care. Just wow.

Just moved to Vegas, and booked a new patient appointment with Sheila Miranda to ensure continuity of medications/prescriptions. The visit itself was fine, but the ability to communicate with the doctor outside of the appointment itself is abysmal.

Their online portal is poor, and does not allow you to send documents to your doctor (which she and I had discussed doing in the visit). I called them for the email address to do so they gave me an email address that does not exist.

I followed their instructions to request a refill from my pharmacy, no response. Called them directly to request a refill. The agent chastised me for going through the pharmacy first, even though those are the instructions they provided. They said they'd "put a note into the doctor" to request the refill, but again, no movement on actually getting my refill renewed for over two business days. Ended up having to request a refill via urgent care and pay $75 out of pocket for that visit. Will not be pursuing a further relationship with this practice.

Negligent. Dismissive. Blame avoiding.

This places infuriating. The AI robot that answers the phone messes up appointments and then you have to wait another couple weeks to get in. There’s no way to actually speak with anyone over the phone at any of the locations. They have a call center that directs your concerns, but nothing ever gets done and they have no way of following up with you. A medical facility has no way of following up with you? I have waited close to two weeks now for a prescription to be filled because I’m having an allergic reaction and the doctor has not updated her directions therefore, my pharmacy cannot fill my prescription. I have come back to the clinic and spoken to the dismissive front desk human two times. Both times she tells me to wait - so I sit for 30-45 mins and am given no indication of what I’m waiting for. All I want is my prescription!!!! I now have a rash that is all over my body because these people go home early and don’t care about their clients. I’m here at 4:30 on a Monday and The entire office is closed.

Please don’t come here if you care about your health at all. They don’t care.

Atrocious. Do not go here. Rebecca Crowley-Huey said something horribly offensive and discriminatory to me in my appointment with her. She then proceeds to get my prescriptions wrong every single time. It's highly suspicious she has so many positive reviews from my experience, and I expect at least many are fake.

Their phone line takes you to a central AI assistant that is useless and a waste of time. Then it takes you to a central customer support line that is equally useless and a waste of time because they aren't connected to the office or provider. The amount of effort it takes to get connected to the office is unacceptable, and you'll have to do it several times because they're incompetent and don't fix things and you have to call numerous times. The one positive is that they didn't charge shady fees for an appointment, unlike many providers in Las Vegas, but they did try to require unnecessary follow up appointments and labs. Which I suppose is their own way of getting shady fees.

It was quite difficult to find a primary physician that didn’t make you feel like you were just a “next patient” and just move along. I've seen many doctors and tried quite a few primary physicians but none were as thorough and as pleasant as Dr. Miranda. She listens and tries to find a solution to the patient's issues. She makes you feel comfortable and have a satisfying visit. Same goes with her physician's assistant. Everyone at Valley Oaks seems to be very friendly and helpful. I have been with Dr. Miranda for a couple of years now and nothing has changed. I highly recommend her.

This place is an absolute joke. Dr. Miranda might be the worst doctor on the planet and needs to have her license revoked. I'm only 29, but am having a lot of health issues that have been concerning me for some time. I went in with 13 very important issues written down. Dr. Miranda walks in the room with a very rude and condescending attitude. She tells me "I see that you have a lot you want to go over here, but I only have time for one thing, so what's the most important one?" Apparently they want my 13 issues to take 26 appointments and 2 years to diagnose. I went with my stomach issues, since that's what was causing me the most discomfort. She asked me questions on where the pain was located and how long I'd been dealing with it. The entire time that I'm answering her questions, she's giving me the most condescending "you're an idiot" expression, shaking her head and rolling her eyes. She was like this the entire appointment, even though I'd never seen her before, I was very polite to everyone, and I was on time for my appointment, so absolutely no reason to treat me like that. At this point, I'm wanting to ask what her problem is, but I just needed to get through the appointment so I could get treatment. One of the things she saw on my list was "severe depression and anxiety", and it seems like she thought it'd be a great idea to make the guy dealing with all of that feel absolutely worthless for no reason. What terrible person. She then went to get the CT scans and blood work ordered. It took her over 20 minutes just to do that.

I get my blood work, then call the imaging place to get my appointment scheduled for my CT scans...they don't accept my insurance. Incompetent Dr. Miranda couldn't even be bothered to check if she's sending me to the correct place; one that accepts my insurance. I had to call the office to tell them to get Dr. Miranda to send the CT scan order to a correct imaging place. Took her forever to get that done. Couple weeks later, I'm going through emails and I come across an email from a few days prior with the results for my breath test I did when I got my blood work done. It came back that I had a very serious stomach infection. This also means that they knew about the infection, but didn't care to reach out to go "hey, we got your results, you urgently need to get on antibiotics." I call them and let them know about the results, to which they responded "oh yeah, we saw that." Yet they weren't going to say anything to me until I called them. They wanted me to do a phone appointment in 4 days just to prescribe my antibiotics, all as my stomach is making me absolutely miserable. 4 days later, they call me 5 minutes before the appointment time and go "hey, we won't need to do the appointment, we're just going to get your prescription sent in." Why couldn't they do that 4 days ago when I was questioning the necessity of making me wait 4 days for an appointment, or better yet, a WEEK ago when they got the results?! I then had to call them back later that day cause they still hadn't gotten them sent in. It's like dealing with a bunch of infants. "Come on sweetie, you need to do this. Come on." As for the imaging, I had to call them back 2 times because the imaging place was telling me that they still hadn't sent over the required medical notes. Absolute joke.

CT scan results come in and there's inflammation in my stomach caused by this severe infection. Haven't heard a word from that office regarding the results.

I finished the 1st round of antibiotics and immediately started having the same stomach issues/symptoms. I contacted them after a week of these issues and told them that I next round of antibiotics and they told me I'll need an appointment. I told them I'm in Reno for work, which is too far from Las Vegas, but this is an urgent situation & I need to continue my treatment. The person I spoke to regarding this, Maria, told me she'll speak with the doctor & get back. Took well over a week to hear back from anyone, & that was Isabelle. Isabelle doesn't return calls either though. Pathetic.

Today was my first visit at Astrana Care facility, which is where my new physician, Dr Chan, now has his office. This is my second visit with Dr. Chan. He reminds me of a doctor I had for twenty-fours before she retired. Dr. Chan took the time to thoroughly explain my physical condition and the importance of controlling my emotions, which would affect my overall condition. The staff was great. I gave them a 5+++ rating.

I've never had a Primary Care Provider and decided it was time to establish with someone here in Vegas. I am 100% certain that I made the right decision choosing Rebecca Crowley-Huey to be my provider. She made me feel heard and not rushed and seemed incredibly educated with how to address my concerns and put my mind at ease. The staff are all wonderful women and seemed to really enjoy working together here at this office. I was pleasantly surprised to learn there was a phlebotomist on site to draw my blood and save me from the inconvenience of going somewhere else and let me tell you- I swear I didn't feel a thing when she drew my blood either! Rebecca is always pleasant to talk with. She has a very caring heart and she doesn't make you feel rushed during the appointment. Her medical assistant is also very pleasant and friendly as well as offers a comforting experience when taking vitals. The office staff is very helpful and is kind to the patients.
