I really wanted to have a positive experience with Dr. Sanders, especially since he came highly recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, after two visits, I’ve decided it’s time to find another orthopedic doctor.

My PCP gave me an open referral due to an ongoing knee issue, so I scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Sanders in June 2026. My appointment was at 11:00 AM, but I was instructed to arrive at 10:30 AM, despite having already completed all my paperwork online.

I arrived as requested but wasn’t taken back to an exam room until 11:51 AM. It was approximately another 40-45 minutes before I actually saw the doctor. That’s nearly TWO HOURS after my requested arrival time. I kept quiet about it because I know that medical offices can run behind and unexpected things can happen.

When Dr. Sanders did come in, I felt like he rushed through information about my knee and spent a good portion of the conversation complaining about my insurance and how they typically don’t cover gel injections. He also interrupted my questions more than once. I explained that I was willing to work directly with my insurance company, including filing an appeal if needed. All I needed was for the office to submit the request as it has to come from them, not me.

To add to the frustration, I had been charged upfront for X-rays that I never received because the office didn’t have time to perform them that day. I did receive a cortisone injection, was advised to get PT, which I did, and then scheduled a follow-up appointment.

Fast-forward four months to my second visit. I arrived at 10:15 AM for my 10:30 appointment and signed in. By 11:00, no one at the front desk engaged with me and I still hadn’t been called, so I approached the front desk to confirm that I was properly checked in. I also provided them with a CD containing my updated X-rays. I was taken back approximately 10 minutes later but didn’t see Dr. Sanders until around 11:30 AM, an hour after my scheduled appointment time.

Unfortunately, the experience with the doctor was much the same, or worse, than the first visit.

Almost immediately, the conversation turned to complaints about my insurance and how they don’t want to cover gel injections. I explained that I had already done the legwork, spoken directly with my insurance company, and communicated the information to his nurse. My insurance company explained that these injections may be covered when deemed medically necessary, and I provided the specific information the office needed to submit for consideration. And AGAIN, I made it clear that I was fully prepared to handle any appeals myself if the request was denied. I simply needed the medical office to take the necessary steps on their end.

To date, I have received no communication confirming whether anything was submitted, approved, or denied.

Here’s what bothers me most: I’m coming to an orthopedic specialist for help with my knee, not to repeatedly hear complaints about my insurance company. I’m also not a fan of my insurance, but I am more than willing to advocate for myself and navigate the insurance process, but I need a provider who is willing to work with me and focus on finding solutions.

I completely understand that doctors run behind schedule, and I don’t expect everything to operate perfectly. However, my time is valuable, too. More importantly, I want to feel heard, respected, and involved in decisions about my care.

Unfortunately, during both visits, I felt talked over, dismissed, and as though my concerns were secondary to frustrations about insurance coverage.

After two appointments, several hours of waiting, and little progress toward any type of treatment plan, I’m essentially back at square one and searching for another orthopedic specialist.

I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience, and as my friend has stated, he's a great doctor, but my personal experience left me feeling more frustrated than cared for.

8:30 appt. He was late due to rounds and did not arrive till 9:30. But the worst is he wasn’t clear. After no weight bearing on my left leg he said only add 25% each week implying I had to stay in rehab another month. I was distraught all the way back to rehab but when my niece called for an explanation his assistant said they didn’t mean that and were only involved in treatment. It was up to the rehab to decide when. So being on a walker with gradual weight bearing still does get me home on Saturday. He needs o be MORE CLEAR!

I had a lumbar laminotomy foramintomy of my L4 and L5 of my lower spine by Dr. LeCavalier. The procedure went flawlessly and the recovery was practically painless. I had to take the bus and when I was on the street, and because I have congestive heart failure i called office to make sure u I was going in the right direction. When I was told it was a big red building, I asked if it was on the corner Palomino and Truluck as I was reading the street signs right next to the big red brick building. The person I was talking to said she didn't know. She said she worked there but didn't know the corner. That may not be too important to some people, but when u have congestive heart failure and have to walk there, its very important to know that you're going in the

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this office has been incredibly frustrating.

I have been dealing with significant pain while trying to move forward with treatment, yet the office has repeatedly failed to follow through on even basic scheduling and communication. I was told that delays were due to insurance issues and that my insurance would not approve or pay for surgery. However, after contacting my insurance company directly, I learned that nothing had even been submitted for review.

To make matters worse, I later found out that the office’s scheduler had quit, which appears to have caused major disruptions. Unfortunately, instead of being proactive and communicating with patients, I was left waiting for weeks at a time with no updates and no follow-up calls. I repeatedly had to contact the office myself just to find out what was happening.

After nearly two months of delays, I am no closer to receiving treatment than when I started. Mistakes and staffing issues happen, but patients deserve honest communication and timely follow-up—especially when they are living with chronic pain.

My issue is not that insurance requirements exist. My issue is that I lost valuable time because the office failed to properly manage my case and keep me informed. I hope they address these problems so future patients do not have the same experience.

Post op approximately 6 weeks out. I really don't know, not great bedside manner but he is a surgeon so the dude is busy doing a real hard and stressful job. For example, if he makes a mistake during an operation on someone, the patient could most likely sue if proven he was negligent. He's a chill guy though, but if you have specific questions for him you got to be on the ball, literally. Otherwise he looks at the xrays on the screen in exam room, tell you things look good or not relating to plates, pins, screws whatever your surgery required. I start p.t. tomorrow 6-15 so I guess we'll see how things go. My surgery was for a right tib/fib fracture, probably the worst place to fracture those bones. Those 2 bones and a ligament stabilize your ankle. If it's not done right and rehabilitated properly, you won't be able to walk at some point in the future. So I'll say 3 stars just because I didn't feel like he took the time to explain what/how things were done and what to expect. Also, for the 3 star rating post operation meds, given 21 50 mg tramadol, no refill to get you through the first 3-5 days post surgery after the nerve blockers wear off. For me those lasted nearly 48 hours. I couldn't move or my toes, ankle, where he put the hardware in. Once the nerve blockers wear off it hurts bad, bad for the first four days after, for me at least, though everyone is different And the Tramadol didn't come close to relieving the pain. This is just my opinion, technically it is opiate agonist, but only partial. Maybe it works for some people but taking them after surgery or throwing them in the garbage would have yielded the same result. No pain relief for the purpose of the medication prescribed. Like come on, Norco, oxycodone, something like that. I'll get off my soap box in a sec but they need to take a look at your lifestyle and health of your liver, cause acetaminophen is hard on your liver especially if you have caused damage to it in the past, whatever the case may be that caused the damage. If that's the case just prescribe the opiate alone. I know they say the opiate and Tylenol work on different pain pathways and I'm not disputing that, nor do I know enough about the pharmacology or pharmacokinetics of either to give an answer to that. But if you have a less than healthy liver, you need to say something. I'm super nervous about starting p.t though. Even in this boot or without, at night sleeping with it off. If I move/tweak it a certain way, there is a sharp, very noticeable pain. I dunno , I'll see how p.t. goes. And just to be clear, I'm not knocking Dr. Hubert at all. Couple things frustrated me but he's aight in my book.

Lol. He told me I could get it wet. I said they said at the hospital I couldn't get it wet. He said "did THEY perform the surgery?" I thought that was funny.
He screwed me 12 times lol.
Honestly I think he's great. He did good by me. If I ever break anything again, I hope he's my doctor. A good sense of humor too.
They were very accommodating too. All nice folks there.

Overall our visit was good. We had some trouble with the incoming information. Taking several pictures was not too easy and knowing Mary's meds was information we didn't know. The visit with the doctor was smooth and timely. He answered all of our questions and we left feeling satisfied. We look forward to seeing him again next month.

Easy to check in and I was seen on time.
Dr. Hubert is excellent surgeon, did great work on my break, and told me the healing time because "I was not 22 any longer" and what time for my healing was really great, eventhough still some uncomfortable pain, it is a 2 compared to 10 when I first broke the femur bone. It has been 10 weeks and beside his good work, therapy is helping a lot to getting my strength built back up.

My daughter and myself was there as new patients. And I want to say I was shocked on how unprofessional Mr Hubert was on speaking of his peers and how they cannot make notes and do their jobs. This behavior if something I really did not expect from a medical profession. So needless to say I knew when this person walks in to see me that his attitude was don’t on how he feels about others in his workplace.
Mr Hubert should be coached on the internal and external customer experience and well as professional etiquette, integrity and empathy within his field. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that his behavior is probably ongoing and because no one addresses it it is normal behavior with this practice.
Again I’m sure if you ask fellow employees. Several hands will be raised in agreement

He is a woman comp doctor he did not listen
I had 2 other doctors tell me I needed surgery. He said I dont and to stretch out my arm the other doctors are wrong.
I am not a big baby so he said you need to stretch it out
I said 1 bad word and he had a meltdown
He is not a bedside manner doctor

The staff here is absolutely amazing. Everyone was professional, kind, and made the entire process easy and stress-free. The doctor took the time to listen and explain everything clearly, which I really appreciated. You can tell they truly care about their patients. I highly recommend this office.

Dr. Sanders is the real deal. Him and his staff set the standard for bedside manner and professionalism. I’ve never had a medical experience quite like the one I had with Dr. Sanders and the Las Vegas Bone and Joint Specialists. I highly recommend them to everyone.
