We saw Dr. de Roode-Wentz in January for a mallet finger injury that my son got at school recess. She was absolutely amazing. She established an excellent rapport with him immediately, and I was happy that he felt comfortable given that he was nervous about his injury (a baseball player with the issue on his dominant hand). She was thorough in her examination and establishing a plan of care. I highly recommend her to everyone with children. Additionally, she has a great resume!

Dr. de Roode-Wentz and her team are fabulous! They have been very patient with my kids and we never have a problem getting an appointment within a reasonable amount of time.

The doctor and her team have even indulged my kids in all of their requests for different colored casts, including these festive ones.

Life saver!! Dr.Deroode-Wentz met my son (age 7 at the time) in Dec 2017 with his SECOND femur break. He was seen for the first femur break by Dr.Vater...in August of 2017 he placed a plate in his femur and removed it in November of 2017..his vitamin D3 was low and we were not made aware by Dr.Vater leading to more issues and a second break. Dr.Vater said my son didn't need physical therapy he also didnt take in the fact that my son has autism and can be real rough sometimes. Dr.DeRoode came in saving us letting us know about his low vitamin D3 and really taking the time to care for him. She went above and beyond to make sure he was healing well, knowing his needs are a bit diffirent. I can't ever thank this woman enough for her time or the care she gave my child. He's still healing but is now able to walk and jog.

Dr. De Roode was amazing with my son and his wrist surgery and her nurse Wendy was amazing also, her whole team that worked my sons surgery kept ensuring me that he will be o.k and that they will take care of him and that they did. they were very informative, very nice and patient I would recommend anyone here at her office at the university of orthopedic surgeon thank you all for everything.
