Valley Health Physician Alliance-Centennial
Being new to Nevada, relocated from hawaii, we were unfamiliar with Doctors as well as hospitals.

A relative suggested VHOA-C accept their Physician wasn't taking new patients.

Fortunately enough we were able to get appointments with Lu & my husband with Dr Pena. We had about a 3 month for an appointment needless to say we were quite anxious.
The wait was worth it. I found Dr Lu a tremendous breathe of fresh air.
She is not only patient but with her knowledge she offers sensible options that I feel confident in.

Our son who has several serious medical conditions also sees Dr Lu & he can't say enough positive remarks about.

She was like my dear doctor I had in Hawaii for so many years.
My husband agreed that Dr Pena was also very patient & willing to.listen.

Dr Lu was awesome. This was our first visit to her as our new primary. My hospitalization and discharge was not a good experience and the ball was dropped on home health care as well as communication for my next steps. She took the time to listen and acted immediately to get us the help we needed at home and helped us to understand the role of all the follow up drs. The front staff was friendly and organized. My previous PCP office was a nightmare. Dr Chea Lu took the time to listen to my concerns and follow up. Dr Lu is wonderful but it is unfortunate that her office and the staff in it are terrible. The phone system is abysmal. I called for two weeks, leaving messages every single day for a prescription refill, When I finally got a hold of somebody, they were angry at me for waiting so long and needing my prescription refilled. I told him I had already been calling for two weeks. As is the case, Dr. Lu Wasn’t in that day and you think it was the end of the world for them to get my prescription approved by another doctor… Life-saving medication that I need every single day. The front office staff is very rude often showing that you are wasting their time, Not looking up from behind their screens as they tell you to sign in and sit down. Making an appointment is impossible because again they don’t answer the phone, It has come to the point that now I have to make a trip to the doctor to schedule an appointment. I think today was the straw that broke the camels back. The results of testing have been back for weeks, no one called me to follow up or go over the results So I made a trip to the office to schedule an appointment. Scheduled it for 2 weeks out because that’s the Only thing that’s available. This morning is appointment day and they called and canceled. One person said the doctor was sick. Another person said the doctor had jury duty, why are they lying?!?

I should've listened to the reviews about her staff being complete JERKS. I called on and off for a week and half trying to schedule an appointment as a new patient, I even left a voice mail and got nothing back. Some girl answers the phone and asks how she could help me. I said I was trying to reach scheduling and haven't been able to. She answers in the snottiest tone "HOW CAN I HELP YOU MA/AM?" And then she tells me I can get an appointment next year. I don't get why front desk ladies have to have the WORST attitudes. Get another job if you're unhappy where you're at and if you can't treat people with kindness!!!!! It's actually not that hard. You set the first initial tone for doctor's offices, why make it a negative one to begin with?!?!?! I was looking forward to establishing care with Dr. Lu from her great reviews from her patients but I don't want to seek care with ANY DOCTOR who's front desk staff is going to give me attitude for absolutely no reason. To the rude lady I spoke to: You've probably ruined other people's days but I won't let you ruin mine. And PS to the doc: you may want to reconsider your staff you have. I'd considering hiring ones who know how to treat people with respect. It affects your business WAY more than you know. Absolutely do NOT recommend this person! She has no professional conduct and will push her own personal opinion on you and then gave false information. Chea will not listen to you and instead talk over you in person! She was asked if she was ok several times during our encounter. Chea also was attempting to prescribe medication without completing blood work which is required for the medication type. This person should not be allowed to practice anything in the medical field.

Like this doctor she’s kind and she listens well to my needs. I’ve had one appointment. I’m trying to call for another and NO ONE answers the phone. I left a messages yesterday and no one has called back. So I tried calling today and once again no one answers. What’s the point of making anyone in this office your primary care when you can even speak to anyone for an appointment. Going to be so salty if i have to switch doctors again.

Still love my doctor. However, I’ve been leaving messages for my doctor to contact my insurance for a prescription authorization. I’ve called 3 times no one has responded. I’m two weeks without my medication now. It’s just sitting at the pharmacy waiting for approval. Love the doctor but this office staff is trash.

She’s a great doctor—but her office staff are a bunch of rookies. I drove 30 minutes in, only to be told I was late for my appointment. I wasn’t.

You’d think scheduling an appointment three months in advance would be enough notice—but apparently not.

There I was, thinking I was 10 minutes early for my confirmed 3:45 appointment, but nope. “You were supposed to be here at 3:20.”

Uhm, no I wasn’t. I never confirmed that time, and my calendar didn’t reflect it either.

They asked for my appointment card to verify, but couldn’t seem to understand that I booked the appointment over the phone—so how exactly was I supposed to have a card?

When leaving, I thought maybe it could have been my fault, but I actually ran into a gentleman outside on the phone complaining about the exact same thing. We confirmed we were both complaining about Lu's staff.

What disappointed me most was the complete lack of sympathy, understanding, or grace—especially considering it was only 3:35, and I was on time for the appointment I had confirmed. The mistake was clearly on their end. They kept bringing in different team members, each repeating exactly what the last one said, as if hearing it again would somehow change my understanding. I wasn’t looking for a debate—I just wanted to speak with someone who had the authority to make it right or at the very least, acknowledge the situation with a little empathy.

I ran out of my maintenance medication and was left a message to call the doctor to go over my labs and make an appt. I called for 2 weeks twice a day at different times a day leaving messages. It got to the point I was begging for someone to call me back because I didn’t feel good. Finally I was able to get ahold of someone who made me a zoom appt. The appt was the perfect time because I had about 15 minutes before I had to start work. The appt came and went so I called again this time in tears asking for someone to call me back. They called me back 3 minutes before I was to walk into work saying they were running behind and yes they did get all my messages but they were working in the clinic and couldn’t call me back. I have NEVER felt so unheard or like I didn’t even matter. What I thought was a good place that I have been with for years has left me so disappointed and like they don’t even care.

First off, I was so pleased to be able to schedule my appointment online, then download my paperwork and complete it prior to my visit. This is such a timesaver for people with a busy schedule like me. When I walked in I was greeted with a smile when I walked in and only waited in the lobby a short time before being pulled back. The MA was thorough and bubbly! Dr. Lu made me feel at ease, answered all my questions and educated me on my healthcare options with a great bedside manner. My primary care provider is part of Valley Health Physician Alliance - Centennial Primary Care. The office answers the phone within a reasonable amount of time. They were friendly and helpful. When I have gone for appointments they are very efficient. My wait time has been minimal. Dr. Chea Lu exams are through. She discusses medical issues and gives ideas on how to improve your health. Finding a new doctor is hard, and seems especially hard in Las Vegas being under 65. My experience overall was very good. The office is well-maintained and easy to get to off of the freeways with lots of parking. Check-in was easy and clear, wait time was minimal, and staff was competent and friendly. Dr. Lu was friendly and efficient, asking important questions and got me set up with my prescriptions. She made sure I was up to date on my health maintenance and got me set up for some future routine procedures and follow up appointments. Check-out was smooth. I currently have Medicaid and is very satisfied with my PCP Dr. Chea Lu from Valley Heath Services in Centennial. My doctor besides being nice and friendly definitely informed me about my health condition. She is detailed oriented and prescribed medications to help me get better. She is very knowledgeable and had conversations with her for awhile to make sure I understand what I am supposed to do on my end. She checks everything and asked several questions. She valued my time and I appreciate it. In other medical clinic, I had waited for several minutes but once I see the doctor, she/he doesn’t devote much time to explain to me everything that needed to know. I feel that those doctor focuses on the quantity of patients they see and don’t provide a good quality of service. Here in Valley Health Services from the moment I made an appointment, see my PCP I didn’t have any problems because they provided an outstanding service to patients like myself. Dr Chea Lu even gave me great recommendations to have some tests done on another location and didn’t have any problems either. Thanks Dr Lu for your hard work I truly appreciate it. All of a sudden Dr. Lu says I have to go seem someone else for my antidepressants and other crucial medication. In a city full of unbelievable terrible doctors, Dr. Lu might be the worst.
