Was very pleased to be assigned to Dr. Curtis. Medical anything is stressful enough and having a condition in which you get a whole team of medical personnel even more so. My consultation with Dr. Curtis went well. I left feeling hopeful and educated...and not so scared. He has a calming presence and doesn't drown you in a ton of medical jargon. Language I could understand and great eye contact. Really made me feel like I had backup during this time.

I benefited from CyberKnife treatment of my right lung. I no longer cough blood 20 days after completing my right lung CK treatment.

Now I need CK treatment of my left lung ASAP because I feel a slight pain at the left lung biopsy and gold marker site.

Wow, Dr. Curtis is amazing. We moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. I’ve been being treated in Los Angeles for prostate cancer as we had heard and thought that the doctors here weren’t as good. Well, Dr. Curtis is nothing short of amazing. Our first meeting was a real experience. He had read all my history and was totally conversant with all my blood tests, scans and surgeries. He presented a clear and very thorough treatment plan. There was a question about treating 1 or 2 spots and he had me get 3 MRIs. Our second meeting was even more impressive. He had spent the time to analyze everything that had been done and decided that a PSMA scan was the best way to proceed. Dr. Curtis works on facts, not guesswork. I’m very impressed.

A week after I completed radiation, a large patch of skin on my side under my arm disintegrated, leaving an, oozing wound the size of my hand with fingers spread wide. The pain from the exposed nerves was about an 8 out of 10. I called the on call number and Dr. Curtis called me back. His response, "It's just a burn. There's nothing you can do but deal with the pain.". I mentioned SSD cream, he said, "That doesn't do anything. It's just a burn." When I said, "Then I'm going to go to the ER because I can't go through the night with this level of pain," he replied, "They're not going to be able to do anything, it's just a burn.". I told him I was going anyway. At that point, he replied, "Well, if you have someone who can drive to a pharmacy, you could put lidocaine cream on it for the pain." Wait! Didn't he just spend the last 5 minutes telling me nothing could be done? I replied I had that in the house. I then mentioned I also had Cavilon barrier spray, to which he replied, "Oh, well if you have that, it will take the pain away immediately." What??? Then why was he telling me there was nothing that would work because it was "Just a burn"? I hung up the phone, used the spray, and pain relief was instantaneous.

The point of my review is that NO patient who says all of their skin has disintegrated and their pain is a level 8 out of 10 should be told to "Just deal with it." I am firmly convinced that if I were a male and I had told him all the skin of my scrotum had disintegrated, he would have had a much different reaction. This was a classic example of a male doctor not taking a woman's pain seriously. Worst of all, when I went in the following morning to have the wound looked at, there was no record in the system of the previous night's call. He didn't even think it was significant enough to log it into my medical records. Honestly, this should be investigated.

I have been with Dr. Curtis for about 3 years now. He just does the best job at explaining your condition, newest treatment options, what your best options are, and the pros and cons of each option so you can make the best decision. When you have cancer, what you really need to know is “what do we do next and how soon can we start” and I always feel like I know what I need to know after my visit.

On top of this, Dr Curtis and all the staff are just good decent people that I enjoy being around and I’m fortunate to have found them when I moved here.

I called the doctor’s office for a follow up on some scans he requested. The receptionist said they called me on December 12th for my follow up & left a voicemail. I called today, on December 18th for status on my re-examination of scans. Whoever I spoke to on the phone was very short with me. She insisted that they left a voicemail, which they didn’t. I was able to schedule an appointment for the 26th of December. I just truly didn’t appreciate tone of the customer service. She spoke to me as if I was lying about not receiving a voicemail. When I requested, if I would receive an email confirmation on my appointment, she said no. She said they would call the Friday before to confirm the appointment. I requested an email, because I did not receive a voicemail on the date she said previous. I have stage four prostate cancer. I would hate for anything to accelerate because I didn’t receive a phone call or an email and missed the appointment. I don’t know what his policies and procedures are with appointments, but I don’t think an email is unreasonable. I can’t comment on proficiency as a oncologist. I hope it’s better than the scheduling.

Dr. Curtis treated me for Stage 4 Throat cancer, 2015/2016. He was among the Best doctors I've ever seen, for any treatment, in my life. Caring and understanding... but firm. Without his help and understanding of both the process and of my personality, I'm not sure I would have made such a successful recovery.

Dr. Curtis was a founding member of this Group, and he exhibits all of the dedication that one would expect.

Dr. Dan L. Curtis is an amazing physician who saved my life after being diagnosed with stage one non- small cell cancer in my lower right lung lobe. The attention given to cure me was unsurpassed and I am now and have been cancer free since his application of Cyberknife therapy in 2019. The cure consisted of three separate 25 minute totally painless sessions with absolutely no side effects at all. The first session was on a Monday and the last and final one was on Wednesday the same week. Everyone at CCC was, and continues to remain very kind, courteous and professional. I have also never waited longer than 10 mins past my appointment time to be seen and or treated. Their patient scheduling is supurb. I highly recommend Comprehensive Cancer Centers to anyone needing diagnosis and or treatment. They are the BEST!
