Dental Office Experience

I had a very disappointing experience at this dental office. I went there because I needed the dentist to complete a form, but I felt like I was being pressured to have dental work done before they would complete the paperwork.

After reviewing my dental records, I also noticed that there is no diagnosis of an infection documented in the notes. That made me even more concerned about the way the situation was handled.

I understand that dental offices are businesses, but patients should feel that their health and concerns are being taken seriously—not that they have to agree to unnecessary procedures just to get paperwork completed.The Doctor is American

Terrible! I’ve had issues with this office in the past and I stopped coming here a couple years ago but wanted to give it another chance. They canceled my appts twice since I came back 2 months ago. They change appts and don’t even tell you or ask you they just send a text. It’s so unprofessional

Some of the staff puts gloves on and then goes and touches everything else then comes back trying to use those same gloves to put the items in my daughters mouth.

Today when we were here they were cursing very loudly next to our room and that was the office manager and spraying very strong chemicals and my daughter started coughing. The staff is terrible.

The dentist is great and his assistant is great but everyone else I’ve dealt with is terrible!!!!

I'm traveling and 3000 miles from home. I just need a regular cleaning.
I was told on the phone by their call center that x-rays from my regular provider could be e-mailed to the GD location.

I was sent a link to fill out 7 pages of forms. When I arrived at the office, the extremely rude, impatient, demanding, uncooperative manager insisted that not only had they not received the registration forms, but that they insist on taking x-rays themselves and that they would not accept them from my periodontist. They just want money!

This is absolutely ridiculous! No hygienist I've ever been to has needed X-rays to remove plaque and tartar.

STAY AWAY FROM THE FLAMINGO OFFICE! And other Gentle Dental places too. Don't be taken, don't put up with the rude attitude.

It was a little far for me being I live in north Las Vegas but well worth it the staff is kind, understanding and made me feel comfortable. They work with you and make you feel like they really care. Very happy with my choice and can’t wait for my new teeth!!! Happy dance upon my return to get my bottom dentures aligned, I was greeted ands felt welcomed and not like a herd of cattle. The dentist was very kind and caring and the assistant is very good at her job and I left with a smile. Would recommend highly and thank you to all the staff. I had a problem with my insurance and I called Gentle to help me out because the insurance treated me horrible and Nick took care of me & offered me the option to merge the call with the insurance and talk to them directly. He was on hold for like 40 minutes & fought my case with the unfair treatment I received from the insurance. Called at 11:30 and took the day off work to come in and see a Dr - was scheduled for a 4 pm appointment; at 2:40 I got a call that the dentist was unavailable and they have to reschedule for some other day this week or I make it there in 15 minutes . I have no way to do that when I have to pick my son up at 3pm hence the 4pm appointment- the coordinator or office manager nick tone of voice completely changed and was super rude as if he was scolding a child because he didn’t get the notification until just then from their call center . I felt like it was their mistake but somehow I seemed to be the problem in his day with how condescending he sounded . Will look for a different dental office

I had a series of cavities filled here earlier in the year, and I had 2 major issues, one with the receptionists and one with the dentist.

When scheduling my first appointment I was told by a receptionist that my insurance would only allow them to do 2 fillings per visit. I had 7 to do, so that meant I had to schedule 4 separate visits, rework my schedule to get time off on 4 separate occasions , and deal with discomfort on 4 separate occasions. Lo and behold, I finish my final appointment and am asked by one of the receptionists why I structured my appointments so strangely, and when I tell her it’s cause one of her colleagues told me that I needed to due to my insurance she responds by saying that was wrong, she isn’t sure why they’d said that, and I could’ve gotten them all done in one or two appointments if I’d wanted to. I had to waste days of my time rather because of that first receptionist’s misinformation.

The more serious issue I encountered was with the dentist himself. One of the fillings he’d done left me feeling sensitive in the area, and with my tongue I could feel there was a part of the hole they’d drilled which didn’t seem to be covered. I was back at their office the next day for another pair of filings and I asked them to check the area I had noticed, and I said that I think one of the fillings had come out already…the dentist took about 15 seconds to look and said there was nothing wrong. Fast forward to a couple days later, I’m back in their office because the pain hasn’t gone away, and I insist on making them look closely for issues. To the dentist’s surprise, I’d been right all along and a large chunk of filling from between 2 teeth was missing. To their credit, they redid the filling right away at no extra charge, but if I hadn’t been insistent about making them check again then I’d still be dealing with tooth pain.

I’ve moved out of Vegas and won’t be using Gentle Dental again, but wanted to warn anyone who may in the future due to the issues I encountered. I’ve never had a more frustrating and time-wasting experience at a dentist than I did at Gentle Dental Flamingo.

This was the second place I checked into and they said they would match the price of what the other place quoted me for (10000) since a friend of mine knew the dentist . After starting they told me it was going to be 5,000 more then the price I got from the other place. (15000) upset already, I still continued cause we already had started . Then my financial situation flatlines and I couldn’t continue to work on my teeth . So now a year and a half later they are telling me it’s going to be 17500. I’m so upset I could have gone and got my teeth done for 10,000. But no I trusted in this office and now am totally being screwed . They totally misled me , they should totally be ashamed to do this to people . My heart is so hurt and now my smile is just as disappointing as it was before I started . .and you know what their response was . Basically since it’s been over a year that’s why they are charging me 2500 more .

Dissatisfied with Manager, when my son, was told he had to have a gum treatment which would be $700 out of pocket, and he said he would have to discuss with his mom (me) he was told he was over 18 and can make his own decision and he could be given a payment plan. He didn't know his social security number is when they called me for it, when I asked why that's when told me about treatment, and told me the same thing he's over 18, he doesn't need me to discuss. I don't know what has happened recently and the two ladies that used to give the insurance estimates are no longer there. It's looks like a complete change of office staff. Over the last few months, I have been given incorrect appointment times and received reminder texts for them after I called the office and thought I had straightened out the issue. The last visit was a scheduled (month in advance) appointment for 11:00 am. Then at 11:30 I was asked to fill out paperwork that the office already had and I was not prepared to do. Although, the Office Manger Xave is the reason i will no longer be seeing a great Dr any further. My appointment was for 4:00 pm. Xave is at the front desk just chit chatting with her employees as o stand at the front desk for at least 20 minutes. As i am being clocked in, Xave, immediately starts to up sale me on the most expensive services (perio trays and treatment ($799), a laser cleaning ($120) and products that i have already been using for 2 years that were purchased from this location. i was only scheduled for my regular 3 month cleaning not to be upsold by the office manager. i am taken in for x-rays and an exam about 4:45. Dr balle took an entire 5 minutes. i am usually sent directly over for cleaning but was advised that i needed to have a seat in the waiting room
and that i would be called. It's 5:30 pm and i am
the only customer sitting waiting listening to Xave worry about her white maeserati out front getting washed. i asked the front desk lady is there a reason why they re so late today, because normally my exam and cleanings are done by 4:45/4:50pm. and the front desk doesn't have a reason. 5:40 Xave comes in from tending to her car wash to again begin to attack me that she is aware of my complaints and begins to banter the customer. The online reviews are spot on! Dr and hygentists are amazing, office manager and front staff are ridiculous. this lady acts as if she owns the dental office. compete disrespect. Zero accountability for another professionals time. RUN far away from this place. Queen Xave owns the place and there is nobody above her to address your concerns.

Hopefully Dr balle can deal with this tyrant office manager or this place will continue to loose patients. Rude unprofessional and she even put her employees in the middle by telling me that they were witness that she was not acting inappropriately. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere as long as Xave continues to work there.

The 5 stars is for Dr Ed Balle. Fantastic dentist. He's seen my daughter and myself for almost a decade and has looked after my daughter's and my teeth with the utmost care. A true professional who really cares for his patient. Can't say the same about his office manager or the staff upfront. If you have the patience to tolerate the office manager or front office staff, I'd say go see Dr Ed. I've certainly ran out of mine, so I left. I have my new dentures and just as the dentist predicted, I have returned for adjustments. My last visit resulted in my being able to eat with that stubborn lower denture! The staff always makes sure I'm welcome to come back for any future problems. This is the first and only dentist that I look forward to going to again.

I had a dentist appointment on March 6th which was a Thursday I had a crown put on so far so good. The doctor knows what he's doing he's kind of rough sometimes and the staff seems to be pretty good.

Everything could improve
I made a schedule visit about 2 weeks ago and showed up 10 mins early and waited around for 37 minutes and still no service
The first thing I was asked for was payment
Which I did
But still wasn’t not provided service
I asked they said there is only one doctor so I then asked how long and twice I was told 10 more minutes and still nothing
This is completely unprofessional
On top of that at 920 I got a email and text reminding me about my appointment that I was already at as if I didn’t already checked in
This place is just horrible
And as of now I’m having trouble getting my refund
Money that they took instantly but now won’t refund because they are saying records not found

Unprofessional & incompetent staff. I had an appointment to get my wisdom teeth removed this morning, 1/24/25, after already having my scheduled appointment moved from 2pm today to 8am (huge difference btw) only to end up paying for a service I NEVER RECEIVED! Mind you I had to request time off work for this procedure considering i would be in a considerable amount of pain.. Long story short, they tried to quote me a $500 copay with insurance for this procedure & i was denied a payment plan. The head nurse with short hair had a very short temper & was really impatient with not only me but several other patients. When confronted, the head nurse then doubled down and said we could pay half today & half next week.. we agreed and continued on. I waited for the Oral Surgeon (Ms Lane) in the dentist chair for over 45+ minutes just for her to poke BOTH my arms 3+ times & claim She couldn’t find a vein. She claimed I was “severely dehydrated” and i would literally have to reschedule my appointment. She even at one point tried poking my feet.. now here i am leaving the dentist office $250+ deep with my arms bruised and no service done! I rescheduled my appointment for next Friday at 1pm at a DIFFERENT LOCATION!!! which is ACROSS TOWN! Then this locations front office lady calls me to inform me that the OS doesn’t do surgeries late in the afternoon.. and I HAD TO RESCHEDULE FOR 7am.. This did not fit into my schedule obviously because I chose 1pm for a reason.. when my dad called to complain & request a refund, the person on the phone had the audacity to say i had “issues” because they could not find my veins. I’m not sure what she was trying to insinuate but the behavior of the entire staff especially the head nurse and Oral surgeon is extremely unprofessional and ridiculously childish behavior. Please do not give your money to this place, the staff here are short tempered, impatient, heavy handed & rude!

The experience my husband and i both had for our first visits at the Flamingo location was very impersonal at Gentle Dental. The X-rays were very archaic, the corner of my mouth was cut during the process. When I got to the cleaning portion of my exam the hygienist was rough with the polisher and also left my teeth and mouth gritty, never flossed my teeth at the end or offered floss, he only spent 8 minutes with me total, somehow I feel the insurance wouldn’t be all to happy with that value since it’s supposed to be preventative care. Neither of us will go back to this company.

Gentle Dental is the best place. I've been a customer for 20yrs. Every dentist I've had are fabulous. Efficient, staff is friendly. Listens to every question and need. I tried Absolute Dental due to insurance plan. The dentist prescribed medicine that would have possibly killed me. Didn't bother to read allergies to medicine. . Will always stick with Gentle Dental

I can’t say enough good things about Gentle Dental! My whole family (my husband, my son, and I) all go here, and every visit has been a great experience. The staff is friendly and welcoming (especially with my little one!), always putting us at ease. The dentists are gentle, attentive, and take the time to explain everything, which has been especially helpful for my son. It's rare to find a clinic where the whole family feels comfortable, but Gentle Dental truly gets it right. We’re so grateful to have them, and I highly recommend them to anyone!

I just got back from a 12pm appointment I scheduled 2 days ago, new patient. I was sent a reminder today for my appointment today at 8am. I go in and the lady asks if I filled out my information form and I said no, I didn't receive one, just the reminder text from earlier. Before I can even get done with the first page, another lady comes out and ask can I come back at 2pm. I kindly said no, I go to bed at that time. She gives me a attitude and says, well you never confirmed your appointment. So I show her the only text I received and she sits there silently trying to stare me down. So I just left and said I'll find a new dentist. Both receptionist looked like they had a rough night. Very unprofessional place!

The dentist was great! He was personable and professional. He explained my situation and options in a clear and understandable manner. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and the lady who took my x-rays was great.

The Insurance lady, Zella, approached me and asked me if I would like a bridge and I said it depended on if it would be covered by my insurance. After my visit, she advised me that if I would switch insurance it would be covered and she handed me an agent's card and advised me to switch to Humana. I told her I had an agent that I had been working with for 4 years. If she would have checked, she would have seen that my insurance did, in fact, cover bridges. This is, nothing short of unethical and unscrupulous behavior and I will be filing a formal complaint.

I was very disappointed with the hygienist as well. He called me back, never introduced himself, led me to the chair and disappeared for five minutes. He returned and never said a word while he cleaned my teeth. When I got home I noticed there was still some plaque on my teeth.

I will not be returning.

They couldn't find any of my info, didn't inform me they didn't have it. So when I got there they spent 40 mins trying to find my insurance and couldn't, and then proceeded to tell me they needed to reschedule my appointment because it was now 4:45. After I had to Uber 35 mins to get there which is 25$ one way. So they only didn't waste my money but they wasted my time. Never going back!

To say I was stressing out and very afraid to have the oral surgery would be an understatement. The thought of having multiple extractions was overwhelming.
From the minute I entered the Flamingo office, there was not an employee that didn't make me feel safe and cared about.
I told Dr. Lee and his workers how very afraid and anxious I was feeling. As always starting the IV to sedate me was a chore. I was blessed with terrible veins. It took a little while to get the IV line in and the whole time Dr. Lee kept asking if he was causing me pain.
Before I knew it they were waking me up and it was over.
Their bedside manner was above and beyond and made my experience so much better than anticipated.
If you need multiple extractions and you are apprehensive and afraid...... Dr. Lee is your guy

Because of past experience with a different dental practice, I was terrified of having a tooth extracted. Dr. Lee at Gentle Dental Oral Surgery was terrific! No pain & an excellent procedure. The whole staff there, was patient & put me at ease. Highly recommend Gentle Dentle & Dr.Lee.
