If you’re a recreational tennis player struggling with any arm related injuries, skip the orthopedic doctors, imaging scans, cortisone shots, and come to Ron- he will get you back to feeling 100%. This is going to be a long review because I’m hoping someone else in a similar situation as me will see it, and it will be helpful to them:
I always thought the strength training that I was doing on my Tonal (consistent user for 4 years now) was sufficient to keep me injury free as a singles player, and for the most part that was true. However, seemingly out of nowhere, I started experiencing wrist pain in my hitting arm after playing tennis and doing heavier loads on Tonal. For 6 months I tried reducing my activity load, resting until the pain subsided, and changing my racquet string tension, but I was still experiencing flare ups constantly. I wasn’t feeling pain while playing tennis or lifting weights, but it would hurt doing daily movements and it was really impacting my quality of life. I went to see an orthopedic surgeon on recommendation from a friend, and he told me that I just had to accept that playing tennis was going to aggravate my wrist if I was playing year round because it’s common for women to have loose tendons that sometimes slip out of place and get inflamed. I asked for exercises I could do to strengthen my wrist and he said there wasn’t anything he could recommend. All he could offer was that I try cortisone shots. Not accepting that my only option was to mask the pain without fixing the root problem, I found Ron on a whim. He explained how I could to calm the irritation by getting my wrist tendons realigned with a couple specific dumbbell exercises, and then work on strengthening my rotator cuff to support better load distribution and avoid overloading my wrist. Within two weeks, I was completely pain free, and I never even had to stop playing tennis or doing my Tonal workouts. After my fifth session I had to take a break from doing my PT exercises due to travel, and the pain started to return. Once I got back onto protocol the pain was again gone in two days. I feel like I have my life back! I’m able to do my exercises from home, and I know if anything else pops up, I have a PT who can help. If you’re willing to follow the exercise protocols, you’re going to be successful. Thank you Ron!

Ron fixed two physical ailments after I was told by other healthcare providers that they could either do nothing for me, or my only option was surgery.
The first was heel pain that came seemingly out of nowhere and completely stopped me from running. After months of no improvement I went to a podiatrist who took x-rays and gave me special shoe inserts and eventually told me to just live with it.
I went to Maximum Velocity and while it took a couple of months, I was completely healed and returned to running. It is 2+ years later and I still have no pain in my feet.
Following treatment I stayed with Ron under his functional strength program. I am convinced that this is the secret to living a healthy life as I get older. "Normal" aches and pains became a thing of the past and I felt healthier than I ever had.
Which meant that it came as a complete shock to me when I woke up one morning with lower back pain that progressed to becoming completely debilitating by the end of the day. On my own, I decided to take a break from strength training. It didn't get better. It got worse. I spoke to my primary and an orthopedic surgeon. Degenerative disc disease, significant herniations, etc. Long story short, no options but surgery. Went back to Ron who convinced me to try it his way first. My trust was well placed. It took a while but Ron was able to manage my pain through exercise and strength training, getting me back to functional. No surgery, no pain management, no endless series of "adjustments."

Ron has the goal to get you better and then get you out of treatment.

Unfortunately, life has gotten really busy and I don't have time to return to my regular functional strength training sessions. But I will be back there to see Ron at some point. Either next time I get hurt or when I finally get the time back to go lift and train.
I truly think he has the secret to a long healthy life as we age. If you are living with pain, considering surgery or other interventions, or just want to prevent the things that drag us down as we age: Ron can help you.

Go to him first.

Keep in mind that a large part of his practice is treating student athletes. While it's a little disconcerting at first to see a high school student half your size putting up twice the weight you are capable of doing, you get used to it. And before you know it you're putting up personal records every week as the gains start coming. Thanks, Ron for everything you've done for me. I'm sure I'll see you again at some point.

Wow. Ron Gallagher at Maximum Velocity is the secret "health" sauce more people need to know about! I’ve been a nurse for over 20 years, and I have a PhD in Nursing, so I love evidence-based practices. But let’s be real—no doctor or therapist has all the answers. Their knowledge is limited by their training, research, and hands-on experience.

I should’ve gone to Ron sooner. I had four very active friends get “fixed” by him after being told to just rest by multiple physicians—lower back pain, slipped discs, bone spurs (osteophytes), plantar fasciitis—you name it. But because he doesn’t take insurance, I hesitated. Big mistake.

I love running and have been doing lifting group classes for years. Over the last five years, I’ve dealt with tenosynovitis in my foot, lateral hip pain (trochanteric bursitis), and lower back pain. I chalked it all up to aging and having four kids. I also had frequent urination after having my kids, but I figured that was just part of life after childbirth. Wrong. When I saw Ron, he educated me—he told me there are four levels of training to get the maximum health effect, and most people skip levels without building a proper foundation. That was me. My weak pelvic floor was a major contributor to my hip and lower back pain, and I had no idea. Ron explained that there’s little to no treatment for women who’ve had episiotomies, and a lot of my issues stemmed from not strengthening my pelvic floor properly. What?!

Then January hit. I went back to the gym after a month off, had a back day in class, and my lower back killed me afterward. I saw a couple of healthcare providers and was diagnosed with an SI sprain. Again, I was told to rest. I did. After a month, I tried Pilates and yoga. Every time I stretched, it made things worse. Another month passed, and I realized—here we go again, another five months to recover. I was miserable. Sleeping, standing, even walking was a struggle.

Finally, I caved and saw Ron. And wow. He spent an hour assessing me, asking about my history, and getting to the root of my problem. I was blown away by how much he knew. Turns out, I kept stretching a weak back when what I really needed was to strengthen it. The exercises he gave me to rebuild my pelvic floor first (before even touching my back and hips) made ALL the difference. Not only does my body feel stronger, but my frequent urination has improved so quickly.

Ron explained everything, drew pictures, and helped me understand exactly what was going on with my body. And as a nurse educator, I eat that stuff up. Don’t just tell me what to do—teach me the why.

Ron promised I’d be back in the gym and running in three weeks. I thought, no way. But here I am, week three—I’ve already gone on a short run, and I feel amazing. My back feels ten years younger. He also pinpointed why I kept having issues with my left hip and foot. He knows his stuff. He’s confident in what he does. Honestly, he’s a miracle worker—the kind that saves you from surgery and gives you years back on your body.

He’s worth every cent. Think about the copays for surgery or the misery of feeling like your body is just breaking down. Forget that. Go see Ron. He WILL fix you. His home exercises, including warm-ups (which, turns out, I was doing all wrong), have completely changed my recovery. I’ve never bounced back from an injury this fast.

Oh, and he helped my friend’s teenage daughter too—an elite soccer player who kept having hip issues. As soon as she started strength training with Ron, her pain disappeared.

Ron will get you straight and fix you quick. If you’re struggling with injuries, stop wasting time. Go see him.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AT OTHER CLINICS AND DON'T GET A SURGERY UNTIL YOU SEE RON.

Ron's clinic is a walking laboratory of people who had injuries that have tried everything else and have recovered. Many so called solutions just help temporarily and do not address the root cause of your injuries. These fixes are driven by insurance companies who do cannot charge for strength exercises to fix the problem. Many orthopedic surgeons stopped referring pre-op patients to Ron because they no longer need surgery after seeing him!

I had tennis and golfers elbow for two years. I tried resting, icing, needling, every YouTube PT video and multiple physical therapy sessions at highly rated places in town. Some of these helped very short term, but my pain always returned. My sons are travel hockey players and had groin issues. Ron was recommended by a medical professional/hockey dad. He said Ron would fix me and my kids in two weeks. Skeptical but willing to try anything, we went to Maximum Velocity PT.

Maximum Velocity looks like a PT clinic and CrossFit gym had a baby. Great vibe with awesome music and friendly people. Lots of athletes and people of all ages. It is a very welcoming environment even if you have never been in a a gym.

Ron does a thorough eval. He quickly realized deficiencies in strength in my rotator cuff that was manifesting in my elbow. Through a series of targeted strength exercises my nagging injury was solved in.........TWO WEEKS! My kids persistent groin injury was also eliminated.

Fast forward a year, our entire family works out at Maximum Velocity PT. My son's strength and conditioning program has elevated them to top teams in town. Meteoric rise and I credit Ron. Groin issues are gone.

Ron works with elite athletes (including world class triathletes) and people wanting to stay healthy and active. I consider his workouts and philosophy as the main reason that I will have an active life moving forward. I have been unable to run much longer than a mile due to knee issues and just thought I could never run. I've increased my strength greatly in one year and I anticipate entering triathlons.

Stop thinking you are too old or too injured to return to the activities you love. Once you are past the injury prevention part, Ron has the performance and strength background to get you to an elite athletic level with science based programming. He is a GAME CHANGER.

I am so thankful for the Physical Therapist’s at Maximum Velocity! Before considering surgery for any chronic sciatic pain or nerve damage, I urge you to consult with the experts Derrick and Ron who helped me regain the strength in my lower back. I was in the worst pain I had ever experienced in my life and thought I would end up in a wheelchair. I swore I had nerve damage, and with the work out plan that Derrick and Ron had me working on, within 2 months my chronic symptoms were reversed, and I can now get up out of bed as normal.

I am truly thrilled on how their plan really works and I encourage all who are in pain to give them a try, but you will also need to do your part and do your exercise homework as much as you can! Thank you Derrick and Ron!! ❤️

Went to see Ron after having pain in my shoulders for 9 months. Before going to Maximum Velocity I went to few doctors and none were able to help or treat the pain. During the first visit I understood the level of professionalism of this place. He took his time to really understand the core of my pain and explained to me in detail that caused it, how we’re going to treat it and what needs to be done to maintain. Ron created a program for me and after 4 weeks I felt no pain and was able to climb, lift and do anything else I wasn’t able to before. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you’re in any kind of pain, or want to improve your form, the team in Maximum Velocity will make it their mission to help you. The level of dedication is one that I have never experienced anywhere else.

What a blessing Ron is?!!!
After many, many hopeless doctors all claimed that I needed shoulder surgery because of soft tissue injury and bone loss. Ron had me throwing baseballs and lifting weights again after 4 sessions. In 2 weeks with him, I made more progress than in the last 8 years post surgery.
If you are hurt, go see him. He will make it better, I promise.

Went to Ron for post knee surgery rehab. When my recovery got to the point of lifting again, my shoulder issue was preventing me from continuing the knee PT. Ron switched gears and got working on the shoulder while adjusting PT for the knee to keep that on track. He’s the real deal and will get you moving again pain free as long as you do your part. Highly recommend.

I started seeing Ron when I was 5 weeks postpartum with my second baby. Ron was so good about strengthening my body and teaching me how to properly engage my pelvic floor but not pushing past what I could handle. Within 6 months I was lifting heavier than I ever was, breaking PR’s on most of my lifts. At that 6 month mark I got pregnant with baby number 3. Ron was the first person I told and we set a game plan to keep me running and lifting through most of my pregnancy. Ron was so supportive and let me listen to my body and adjust lifts and workouts as I wanted but was also really knowledgeable about what my body and my baby could handle. That was very comforting and encouraging for me to keep lifting heavy and running as normally as I could. I was able to continue running up until I was about 32 weeks pregnant and continued to lift heavy up until I stopped seeing Ron at 38 weeks before I had my baby. Now I’m back at Ron’s, 3 months postpartum, 15 pounds lighter and feeling strong. EVERY PREGNANCY IS DIFFERENT but Ron will make sure you feel your best and your strongest throughout your pregnancy.

This will be long, but I feel it's important to know why Ron & his staff is the best in Las Vegas.

Back in May, I was in agony. I was in excrutiating pain, and nothing was helping. Doctors were baffled. The pain was in my back/butt/hip, going down my leg, to the point where I could not even sit up, let alone walk. I went to pain management, saw several doctors, and instead of getting better I was getting worse. I couldn't function. I couldn't sit at the table to eat dinner. I couldn't even sit on the couch and watch TV with my kids. The only relief I got was laying flat on my back. This went on for a month.

I had many medical issues over the last few years, and this was something new that began on top of everything else. It was torture.

Here's what I tried before going to Maximum Velocity:

1. Did CT and MRI. According to the docs, there was nothing alarming. It did mention some bulging discs, which is why we tried some things listed below, but no doctors saw anything too bad.
2. Injections to SI - first one worked for 2 days, second and third did nothing
3. Injections to L2,L3,L4,L5 - none of those did anything
4. Nerve blocks to periformis muscle. The first seemed to help a bit for a few hours, the second didn't.
5. Was in the hospital 3 days - that was useless. They just gave me pain meds but refused a consult to anyone to actually solve and find the source.
6. Lots of very strong pain meds - they don't touch the pain
7. Steroids - didn't help
8. Chiropractor - didn't help
9. Massage therapist - helped a little, but didn't last
10. Acupuncture - didn't help
11. TENS unit - this is the only thing that did help a little, but not enough to enable me to function
12. Massage gun - helped a tad when it was bad, but also not enough
13. Neurologist. Had no idea what it was, and just suggested nerve testing, which was scheduled a month away.
14. Stretching - looked on YouTube and tried a few things, but I didn't really know what to follow because I didn't know the source of the problem.

In desperation, my wife posted on a healthcare Facebook group asking for help. Many people responded with suggestions and things to try.... ONLY 1 person physically called us and said "I'm a physical therapist, I'm not conventional and I don't take insurance, but I think I can help". This was on a Friday, I'll never forget that. Ron came in an hour earlier than usual that following Monday in order to meet me. He did a full evaluation - asked many questions, did a full history, and examined me. Within 2 weeks of seeing him, I was functional. Let me be crystal clear, I was not 100% and I was not out of the woods, but I was able for the first time in WEEKS to get around, stand, and sit without excrutiating pain. I got progressively better over time and am now doing a strengthening program and functioning normally. After seeing all those doctors, and trying so many things, Ron is the only one who was able to help.

So if you want results and are willing to put in the work, then there is no better place in Las Vegas. Ron at Maximum Velocity is the place you need to go.

Only one appt but so far seemed above and beyond any other PT I’ve seen in the last 20 years of athletics. Personal evaluation and explained exactly what’s happening so I can do his prescription on my own the right way.

Ron is an excellent pt. I came to him after unsuccessfully trying several different doctors and pt's. Not only did he help me with my back injury but he educated me to keep me strong so I don't have to go back. Ron understands athletes and is committed to getting them healthy and strong.

I'm 74 years old and fairly active. Knee problem, see Ron before a replacement, Shoulder problem see Ron before surgery. If you need surgery he will tell you, but give him a chance to show you how to rebuild your body structure first, you will be shocked at the results. Most of all do the exercises he gives you, even after you are well. The best PT I have ever known. No excuses at this places.

I run with a group out of a store in Henderson, when Ron was getting his place started up, he offered quick, free range of motion evaluations at the run group. He gave me a quick set of stretches to help fix an issue that had been plaguing my hip for YEARS! By years, I mean, close to twenty plus years.

Once that issue was fixed, I realized some of the other issues I have been having may be easily fixed, too. So, I set up an appointment for a full evaluation, and we started working on a full treatment for my hip (and therefore knee and ankle) and shoulder.

It only took two and a half visits after that initial visit to fix what was hurting me. Ron got me back up and running pain free, without a lifelong schedule of appointments. I can't really trust a caregiver that has a business model of keeping you returning forever. While it may not be the best way to make money right now, Ron has earned my business for as long as we are both in Vegas! I refer him to everybody I see that appears to have, or mentions having pain in a joint.

I highly recommend giving Maximum Velocity Physical Therapy a shot! It doesn't matter if you are an athlete or not, if you have movement issues, Ron will do his best to help you heal!
