Where to begin?! This place was pathetically incompetent. From entering their lavish-wanna-be eye exam “store”, it immediately felt far from an an appropriate eye care center. We needed eye exams and updates on our prescriptions; we were never more dissatisfied for the many years we’ve seen an actual optometrist in the past.
I’ll start with their “2 chair” waiting area; I had to sit wherever I found one since they literally had room for “2”. The staff was ridiculous!! Acted as if we weren’t “good enough” to be in their presence. Oooh downtown Summerlin, yes well I live right across the street, so who cares!! I thought we were patients! Their exam rooms were smaller than my hall closet, but that wasn’t the worst part… the girl was literally texting the whole time. And it doesn’t stop there; Dr Amel herself, was so busy messaging on her phone and getting interrupted by her staff that I know for a fact hearing my responses wasn’t recorded correctly. If she even paid attention to my responses to her ridiculous “eye test”. I’ve been a specific grade for years, and I came home with one eye with a dramatically lower grade! It absolutely blows my mind how an optometrist doesn’t pay attention long enough to get the correct outcome a patient needed.
We walked out frustrated, upset, and dumbfounded how an eye care center can be more focused on their image rather than their patients.
I personally believe Dr Amel and her staff should be visited by the better business bureau to investigate how they operate their practice. Good luck if you decide to make an appointment with her “store”!

100% SCAM ALERT!!!

Found their Groupon offer, which seemed to good to be true. $103 for a contact exam INCLUDING 6 MONTHS OF CONTACTS! Yes that is what it literarily says, I read all the fine print. But then because it is contacts there is an UNSPECIFIED junk fee called "sit down fee". Over the phone they informed me it amounts to +$100. What does that even mean, do you STAND UP when you do the exams for glasses?

Anyway, so it is $203 for the contacts exam, which is expensive, but then you get 6 months of contacts which makes it cheap. So I asked them if I can get any contacts (since I have astigmatism, which makes the contacts more expensive). "If we have them in stock in our office" was the response. WHAT??? NOONE HAS CONTACTS IN STOCKS because there are millions of combinations of parameters (several millions actually, I checked using AI), they are always shipped directly from the manufacturer!!!

So all in all - the substance behind the "6 months of contacts" turned out to be "you will get it discounted". No telling how much the price would end up being since they would be free to inflate the nominal price as much as they wanted.

WORST SWITCH & BAIT SCAM IN HISTORY!!! Remember this when you consider checking companies that advertise on GROUPON. I looked for a button to report them to Groupon but there was none!!

By the way I recorded the call. Media is welcome to have a copy of it.

I will instead go to the Vision Center by Walmart Rainbow ($120 for contacts), the backup plan being Costco for $155.

And the next year I will buy my supply of lenses in Europe where you don't need a prescription and they are half price.

I was very disappointed with my experience.

The Groupon advertised the eye exam for $50, but when I arrived they tried to charge me an additional $100. This was never mentioned anywhere in the Groupon listing. When I questioned the receptionist, they couldn’t even show me where this extra fee was disclosed. After I complained, they reduced the additional charge to $75, but that still felt misleading.

I also wasn’t impressed with the eye exam itself. It seemed like they mostly relied on my previous prescription instead of performing a thorough examination. Compared to my experience at Visionworks, the exam here felt very basic. At Visionworks, they performed a much more comprehensive eye exam with several different tests, and I felt much more confident in the results.

I do want to say that the staff were polite and respectful throughout my visit. My complaint is not about their attitude, but about the misleading pricing and the quality of the exam. I ended up spending more time and money than I expected, and unfortunately I left feeling disappointed.

Next time, I’ll be going back to Visionworks.

I wanted to share my incredible experience with Vision by Amei during my recent yearly eye exam. I was truly blown away by how organized and efficient the entire appointment was. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the store itself was beautiful.

Right now, they are offering a fantastic deal: a yearly eye exam plus $200 towards any eyeglasses. Their selection includes the trendiest, hottest styles, and I couldn’t resist getting two pairs just for fun—even though I don’t actually need glasses. One of the pairs was even made into sunglasses, which I really appreciated.

Amel was highly professional and, most importantly, honest. She was efficient and extremely knowledgeable about all the latest eye care technology. What I valued most was that she wasn’t pushy or trying to upsell me unnecessarily, which can be rare these days.

I drive 40 minutes across town to get there, but it’s absolutely worth it. There are many other shops nearby, but none compare to the level of service and trust I found at Vision by Amei. Plus, I made a day of it and enjoyed a lovely lunch afterward.

There should be an option for -negative stars on Google. This “business” is absolutely ridiculous. I have had to call several times within the last two weeks to get an update on my wife’s contact lenses that should have arrived two weeks or so prior to me even calling them. The lady who answers the phone every single time I call was never helpful. She has this tone in her voice like she’s bothered to be explaining things to me that don’t make sense and she dismisses every concern I’ve brought up. My wife works full time and goes to school full time so I assist her with calls and other things to help her. Part of this was to call this place of “business” and ask for an update on her contacts. Her contacts were ordered late by the doctor or whoever does the orders there & this was not communicated to my wife at all. It wasn’t until a week later she had to call and ask what’s going on. You would think a professional place of business would call and update their customers and maybe apologize for a mistake made on their end. Bare minimum stuff. Nope nothing. Cool. Contacts arrive and we don’t receive any updates, not even a text. Again- we had to call and ask where they were. Half of the order arrived. Awesome. So my wife now has half of her eye (right side) that she can use contacts for and one left eye contact but we are now waiting for the remainder of the left eye contacts to arrive. Did not get an apology for this either. I’m explaining all of this to the rude receptionist lady today and she’s snarky, not nice, not genuine, never was apologetic, and dismissed my concerns and put the blame and responsibility solely on the doctor. What place of business is this? I straight up asked if this is how they do business and treat their customers normally and I couldn’t get an answer out of her. Unacceptable experience from all sides. I’m leaving an honest review not to bash this “business” but to offer a real experience that has been very frustrating overall. They don’t even care to make it right which is what makes it worse. I will be posting this on social media as an authentic and real experience and I will be truthfully advising that if ANYONE wants bare minimum professionalism expected from an optometrist, do NOT waste your time at vision by Amel.

Came in today to get a quote on a pair of frames that was bought from Gentle Monster. They recommend us to come here to get our lenses prescribed. The younger lady with glasses at the front was not friendly at all. She was sitting on the right side of the desk in view of the customer. She was very short in conversation, never even cracked a smile or smirk. Not really sure if she was having a bad day but the entire interaction with her was passive aggressive even the ending was super dismissive when saying goodbye. Let me start by saying when I was checking in for my appointment the front staff was very kind. When I went to the back with doctor Amel that’s when things took a turn. She was so rude and short with me. I’m genuinely not even sure she got my prescription right because she was texting/scrolling on her phone the whole time. It was so unprofessional. She gave me trial contacts and didn’t even ask me how they fit or anything about them. They told me someone will call me when my contacts are ready.

A week and a half later I’m like “Let me call to see if they’re there” sure enough, they were and no one called me. however, that phone interaction was BEYOND me. I asked her what time they close & she says “we close at 6pm, no later” (their google & Apple Maps listing says 7pm so be careful). I said okay I’ll see you soon, she repeated the same thing “we close at 6pm, no later”. This was a different woman, younger Asian, was wearing a hat & small stature. I just hung up. I got there and when I walk in no hi nothing “what’s your name.” Yes, I’m using correct punctuation. & I made a face at her like “damn”. & I give it to her she BARLEY looked in the drawer and says “Not here”. So I gave her my DOB, she picks up my contacts and THROWS them on the desk. I said “Oh my god”. It didn’t seem like enough contacts so I opened them and there was only 3 months worth when I paid for 6 months. She was visibly annoyed that THEY were about to scam me 😂 so now my attitude changed she grabs contacts from a drawer and threw those on the counter as well. She gave me 3 more months worth and just 1 additional contact. As I’m counting the contacts she’s standing by the front door arms crossed just waiting to leave. And as I’m leaving I said “I won’t ever be coming back here again”. She said “Bye!” So unprofessional.

I asked for a refund and was denied. After some pressing , finally I was offered $75 towards a future service (the transitions costs $100) as if I’d ever want to return.

None of the staff was knowledgeable of any of my questions and acted as though i wasted their time by asking. Then when my glasses arrived; the two gals there were entirely rude to me. Will not return; only came because of the Groupon deal…..

I had scheduled an appointment with them for 2: 30pm when I arrived they said I wasn't in the system and someone hadn't put me in properly. They were unable to accommodate me for two more hours. I had driven 40 minutes just to get there so wasted 2 hours of my time with nothing to show for it. Do not recommend

I feel completely ripped off. They told me the frames would cost $200 and the lenses $200, but when I checked online at home, I found the exact same frames—same brand and color—for only $86. On top of that, the lenses weren’t even tinted, as I had specifically requested for my prescription. When I went to pick up my glasses this morning, the ‘asian lady’ in the front desk who helped me was rude “This is the best customer service experience I’ve had.” She also gave me the wrong case: my frames are Kenneth Cole, but she handed me a Ray-Ban case with no cleaning cloth. I’ll definitely be going back to LensCrafters for my next eye exam. If you want to pay hundreds more than necessary and get poor service, please be my guest and go here. This place is a joke.

Vision by Amel is one of my favorite places to visit in Downtown Summerlin. The staff is always friendly, and the check-in process is easy and consistent. I can feel the quality in Dr. Youssef’s work as I walk through the door. Dr. Youseff takes her time during my visit and makes me feel like I am her only patient. The selection of eyewear, quality in eyecare and advanced equipment are only some of the reasons why I will continue to see Dr. Amel Youssef for my vision needs.

I purchased an online Groupon that was a $55 eye exam with $200 to be used towards glasses (priced at originally $300) I call to set up an appointment and they require a $59 retina exam for new patients, I am unsure if it’s just that location or being an new patient because of the costs… it would be cheaper to get a exam through Costco. I don’t appreciate that the Groupon did not say that in the fine print.

Although calling and talking to the associates were helpful but in the other reviews it does indicate this place prices glasses and exams higher due to the Groupon.

After spending thousands of dollars between my husband & I over the last 2years with this place I’m totally disgusted with my last transaction & won’t be returning for these reasons.

1. The employee turnover rate is ridiculous crazy I’ve seen over 15 new employees which is a 🚩 they never know what’s going on because it’s always a new employee when you go there.

2. There was a discount in place due to us purchasing a high quantity of high end glasses which eventually stopped getting honored because no one knew what was going on & conveniently the Dr. didn’t remember 😂

3. My husband has a pair of Cartier glasses with a screw keep coming out that he keeps taking back and instead of them figuring out the issue they just tighten the screw.

4. I had a pair of glasses on hold until my upcoming appointment and they sold them then acted like ohhh well find something else.

5. My #1 mistake was not looking up the prices online … They overcharge so be sure to look up the glasses. You’re better off buying from the manufacturer and just sending them off for lenses and save yourself the headache and still come out cheaper.

They also overcharge for the actual eye exam the same exam they have on Groupon for $50 cheaper.

I figured this out because when I went in the lady told me $1800 for both glasses and went back for eye exam the other lady told me said $3300 which had me look up the glasses, the pair of Ditas was only $500 from Dita & they was charging $900 & the pair of Cartier was $1200 online and they had them marked up to $2300 + $100 eye exam which is on Groupon for half the price. Crazy right.

6. My glasses took 4 weeks to come back. They were supposed to be gradient with the Cartier logo at the top and none of that was done & the employee tried to argue me that they was gradient which was very unprofessional. On top of that they didn’t no longer have the box and gave me a Dita box when I said I need the actual Cartier box the guy said that Ditas cost just as much as Cartier. As I told him I purchased a pair of Cartier glasses and I expect the case to match. After that transaction I was done talking to them and wanted to talk to Dr. Amel and she’s yet to get in touch with me about the box or the terrible service which has now been 5 days + so that just shows how much the care about their patients. They just want your money and will gladly up their prices when it isn’t a good week for them so just make sure you’re checking prices. I wanted to like this place so bad for their sleek inventory but it be disappointment after disappointment so it’s a NO for me.

Update 03/2024: Someone contacted me saying they have my box, got there & it was a bright red FAKE Cartier box, without the certificate of authenticity, which dug them in a even deeper whole with me. Requested a refund and still haven’t heard a thing from anyone from the business. I would highly suggest getting your glasses checked for authenticity.

Initially placed order for my Dior glasses 12/16, should've been a red flag when nobody took down my information but said they would contact me once the glasses came in. Anyways, they say it can take anywhere from one to two weeks depending on availability of the lenses. Two weeks go by and I don't hear back so I call and they say it's there. Once picked up I notice two places where the frame was cracked, so I called to let them know. They asked I bring the frames in the next day so I did. They looked at it and said they will order new frames for me and it'll take a week. I call back a week later and nobody knows what I'm talking about and asks that I wait to call back when the person who helped me that day can check, which is strange but I did so patiently. Once again no frames were ordered and she asks that I text her photos of the cracked frames and the frame info so they can order it. I do just that and she texts me back saying the Dr will order it and they will give me updates on it. I call back a week later, and shocker nobody knows what I'm talking about. They promised on multiple occasions that someone will call me back and never do. Last Thursday they stated the Dr will call me later that day because she has patients during the day, which I was okay with. Nobody called back. Anyways, I've been professional and patient because I understand things happen, but it's been extremely frustrating. I just told my husband I didn't want them anymore and am willing to lose the $1000 or whatever just spent on the glasses because it's been a waste of time and energy. I understand that places get busy and I understand that things go wrong, but I would think that they would want to fix it, but that's not the case here. I would hope they want to do better for their customers moving forward.

This place is a JOKE! The staff don't even know what they are doing let alone look up the insurance. I hadn't even gotten my eyes examed when the doctor was already offering me LASIK surgery. The whole thing took over an hour and didn't get no glasses ! only a perception . Never again will go back .. Stay away from this place... All they care about is making a sale!!!

Apart from being expensive AF .I honestly believe it’s easier to get open heart surgery than a full pair of glasses at this place. The staff is super misinformed and talked me into paying extra for a bunch of add ons saying that my glasses would be ready the same day if i paid those extras then a fee hours later i get called to pick them up and they had installed the wrong lenses in them which were way cheaper and thicker than the ones i actually paid for and they didnt even offer me a refund at first. So finally they said i could wear the WRONG lenses until the ones i paid for came in and now that they did they called me in and they weren’t even ready to install. It has taken me around 6 trips to the store to get something that should have been done in way less time and trips. and all this was on top of the doctor being about 40 minutes late to my initial eye exam appointment.

Staff was very knowledgeable when helping us find the "perfect" pair of glasses, which is hard when it's an older person who is picky and cheap, lol. The optometrist herself was very good at examining the eye and explaining in people words. The staff is what I pay attention 1st and foremost when going to any kind of doctors office for the 1st time.....so to be taken care of personally and genuinely by every staff member really made it a pleasant experience.

I purchased a Groupon for an exam and 6 months worth of contact lenses that I thought would be worth it. I was charged an additional $75 fee and that turned my total into $175. Customer service wasn't an issue here at all, however the bang for you buck is. It's been 6 or 7 weeks and I still haven't been contacted about my contacts coming in. I've called multiple times to double check and was told I'd be contacted but I never was. Also, if you struggle financially this place is not meant for you.

UPDATE: I just got another annual exam with a different optometrist and come to find out I've been wearing the WRONG prescriptions for the last year. Thanks to vision by amel. This place is a complete joke.

No matter what, they gonna try to charge you $649 for the cheapest frame.. At least $449 if you have the Groupon discount offer they attracted you with.
i got there was 2 hours wait time even with appointment, after the eye exams made by someone else, she came up with a price of $649 for the cheapest option. I said absolutely not, can't afford it, i was about to leave. She then took sometime to write all numbers on a paper, i have a copy of & came down to $302 for glasses, forgetting the $200 OFF from Groupon. I reminded her about the discount, and when she added it saying "just give me $100". I paid cash, She gave me a receipt for it. Total Amount $100 Paid $100 Balance due 0. 2 weeks later I'm back to pick up the glasses she asked me to pay $224 saying $100 was just a down-payment. She came up with a new bill that I've never seen before and said that's the price. She found out the paper where everything is written and the receipt she gave me but still doesn't want to give me the glasses. I have all proof. I asked her to open the cameras for that day she said she needs Authorization from her boss Amel Youssef in London. I then asked her to just keep the glasses and refund me $100 she said she can't!!! Paid Groupon went 2 times to summerline it's an hour driving from my house Paid $100 cash and have No glasses. Waited almost a year with my eyes issue.. blurry vision that's all it is.

I have been a patient of Dr Amel for three years now. Dr Amel is extremely knowledgeable and has top of the line eye equipment that even photographs the INSIDE of your eye! I don’t have to have my eyes dilated (which I hate) and the staff is super nice. Kaia checked me in and Kasey did my eye exams and tests. They’re office is beautifully appointed too. Kasey was fun to talk to and was very professional at the same time. I highly recommend Dr Amel and her staff!
