Had a visit to Aloha Vision today. Even though they were running late, they kept me informed, offered me water, and apologized several times. Nick took the time to explain every option and every charge over my insurance. Dr. D took her time as well, to deliver an extensive exam and explain all of my options for vision correction. I feel that the front desk could’ve been a little bit more professional and orderly… Lots of joking and talking and this and that going on with at 1x there were 4 people behind the little desk area… There were literally three beverage drinks, right where I was standing at the desktop and waiting for the new girl to get me on boarded… I had a 1:30, and it was 1:50 to get settled in…And as much as I love the doctor, the staff should have the presence of mind not to put a patient in a room where lunch has been going on… I was able to move past it, but somebody else might not have felt the same way about the professionalism . I had to wait back out at the table because I guess there was the particular room to the left of the office that they wanted to have me go to so I walked back out to the lobby with the girl. Otherwise, I love the doctor and her husband/manager (NICK)wasn’t there yesterday but he’s so professional and friendly always nice to see his face.
Exam was short and sweet. That’s fine by me.

I always get great treatment at Aloha Vision. Last year, I decided to go somewhere else, thinking one eye doctor's office was the same as another. It's in Visionworks, so it'll be the same quality of care, same attention to detail, and the same service I've come to expect, right? Was it? No!

At Aloha Vision, you're greeted with a smile instead of a grim point to dingy chairs lined up against a wall. You're talked to about what you're signing, why they're offering that service, and exactly what the charges are covering. The office area, including the sinks, are clean and bright. And during your exam, they check your current prescription and explain the difference between it and what you're being changed to. They seem to really care about the health of your eyes.

My first visit was amazing, and I even made an appointment for a follow-up this year. However, when I approached the desk today, the receptionist seemed unhappy to even be at work. She had an attitude the entire time I was speaking with her, and when I handed back the iPad, she didn’t say “thank you” or acknowledge me at all. Her demeanor was so unwelcoming that I actually left before even being called because I didn’t want to deal with her attitude or feel like I was a bother in her space.

I won’t be going back. If you read the negative reviews from the past year, they all mention the receptionist and it’s clear that nothing is being done about it.

Went there for eye exam and glasses. My daughter referred me to this place. I usually go to the visonworks at meadows mall. This was closer and less traffic. Was greeted nicely as I checked in. People were nice enough when checking in and my exam was started in a timely manner. I do not remember if the Dr introduced herself. The eye exam seemed a little rushed and she seemed bored explaining the results using the 3d model and retina scanning. I received no information from her about what my results meant and how she planned to help me see better other than “here’s your script, go up front and they will help you”. So I went up front and met the store manager who gave me a box and told me to pick glasses and then the next person would “ go over everything with me”. I picked out some frames and when I was ready to go over details, the specialist was busy with somebody else so the manager helped me. I’ve never worn glasses I had no idea of cost or how my insurance works, but I was treated like I should just know what I needed/ want and place my order and go. I learned more from calling a friend who wears glasses than I did during my visit, and the woman definitely did not “go over everything “ as promised.

Not the greatest experience but not the worst either. People there were nice enough. I felt the time with the doctor assessing my vision was rushed. I was handed a paper with my prescription and given no explanation to what it all meant and was told the lady at the front desk would help me. Which she didn’t. The person at the front desk helped my husband more than me. Maybe because I said I didn’t find any frames I liked, and she gave me an odd explanation to why my sunglasses couldn’t be made prescription. I guess since I wasn’t purchasing glasses from them why bother with the rest of my visit? Later that day I went to a sunglass store to get an explanation of why my sunglasses would not work. Which they did explain and makes so much more sense than what the woman at Aloha told me. I also went to another vision center who took the time to explain to me my prescription, what kind of glasses I had the option for. They showed me my prescription with the adjustable glasses while looking at an eye chart and told me that my prescription was missing some information. And there was some discrepancy since their tests showed different from what the test at Aloha showed. I decided to switch to that office as a patient since they took the time to thoroughly go over everything, type of glass and materials they use, and actually show me I had options even just as a walk in since I happened to walk by the office after going to a sunglasses store. Better pricing too with my insurance.

The (very) young girl that checked me in was not very motivated and/or friendly. She talked fast and was difficult to understand. She didn't really explain what she was going to do, which resulted in me (almost) jumping up when air was blown in my eye, because I didn't expect it. I recommend coming here. Atmosphere was relaxing the technicians and doctor were very nice and informative about what was going on with my eyes. The checkout and picking out new glasses was very informative as well. I felt relax the entire time I was there and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Only have positive things to say about this business! Every single employee was so kind, answered all of my questions in a super clear manner, and the doctor did the most thorough eye exam I have had in years!
