This incident happened on September 5th, 2025. Only giving it two stars because I really did like the doctor it was super easy to talk to her. My problem is the nasty attitude of one of the male nurses. I was sent to go get blood test done at another location by the doctor and when I came to check on my ultrasound sound results he came in the room asking who told us to do that and that he didn’t tell us to do that and in a very passive aggressive tone, as we explained my mom started giving him the same energy and tone he was giving her and this man starting raising his voice at me and my mother demanding respect?? He even told my mom she shouldn’t be in the room because I’m 18 but I prefer my mom in the room with me for emotional support and we’ve never had a problem with it. It was obvious he was talking in an unprofessional manner and it’s extremely unacceptable. I have very bad anxiety and started panicking because this man couldn’t even finish his conversation with my mom because of it was so unprofessional and it was getting pretty loud. He continuously would leave the door wide open while I was in the check up room which was extremely uncomfortable because anyone walking by could peep and look into the room!! When I told the doctor about it the first thing she asked was if I’d seen a psychiatrist yet because I was already crying by that time. She excused his actions by saying thats how the people in his country are and we all have different culture norms, so basically because he was Cuban that’s why he was acting like that?? Like she knew we were Mexican and he was Cuban and that was the excuse for his behavior?? I will not be returning due to how uncomfortable I was I cannot return feeling like he might treat us differently because of what happened my last visit. No nurse should ever treat a patient the way he treated us, you never know what someone is going through and how they might react. Especially in a place where you go to feel better. Worst experience I’ve ever had I left sobbing.

Dr Thomas listened to me as I was having back pain. After I explained my lower back pain and as I also had back problems as well as with my fingers in the pass she told me that I was having arthritis flare up and gave me a shot to help relieve the pain. She also gave me a referral to get ex-ray for my back and prescription for my pain should I experience back pain after the shot wear off and that I should use the medication only as needed.

I’m writing this because I felt uncomfortable, judged and annoyed at how long it took just to see the provider. I must say that this place isn’t the same without Lonnie & Taylor there. The provider (who I can’t remember his name but he seems to be of Indian decent and date of service was 02/06 at the Serene and Eastern location) wasn’t welcoming, the way he kept looking at me made me I feel like I was being judged by him for the reason I was being seen and the time it took to get seen was ridiculous. I was there for an hour just to have him come in ask me 2 questions and walked right out without saying anything. Not to mention when he walked in the room, he smelled of cigarette smoke 🤢 The other girls at the front desk didn’t seem to know what they were doing and you could see that they were depending on Mary to tell them what to do. So if you like appts with long wait times, a place to feel uncomfortable and the smell of your provider smelling like an astray, this is the place to go.

I had the most excellent experience during my first visit with Dr.Parsons!
After I was unable to get in for an appt at two other locations that day, I still had a great visit with a provider who seemed very knowledgeable and caring. I appreciate him taking the time to look into every concern I had. The staff and nurses were also very kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. They’re a rockstar crew at this new office location.

I have been a patient at Santa Rosa Urgent and Primary Care, now known as American Urgent Care for 7 years. At the age of 73 I have a number of medical problems that require observation and treatment for the rest of my life. Generally the quality of service at this primarily quick care facility depends on which doctor you see during a visit. It is sometimes difficult to insure continuity of care when you have to deal with a new Nurse Practitioner that doesn't review your file before they see you and just want to prescribe the bare minimum and send you on your way. I visit the office every 3 months and receive my basic prescription needs but I insist on referrals to specialists for diagnosis and treatment of more serious medical issues. Fortunately I have excellent insurance and can afford seeing specialists, however, for individuals who have limited finances and need the occasional treatment of minor medical problems or just refills for their maintenance prescriptions this is a reasonably priced alternative for cash customers or those with medicare or medicade.
