The staff at Cellaxys are very friendly and professional. Unfortunately, the actual stem cell therapy that I received on both knees did not result in any noticeable reduction in pain or inflammation.
The Dr’s office was very kind and met with me regarding my lack of progress. I was told I needed more physical therapy. I did as they told me and completed additional physical therapy. I experienced No change in knee pain. I did however, receive a very large bill for the physical therapy services.
The statement by this clinic that you need more “physical therapy” seems to be their standard protocol when patients see no progress. I don’t regret trying the procedure (there is no guarantee of results). Just be aware if you fail to see improvement, they will simply recommend additional physical therapy or more blood work. Both of these solutions provided no resolution, just additional medical bills.

Honest Review of My PRP Experience with Dr. Pouya Mohajer
I came across this clinic through a social media ad. The posts looked impressive, but now I realize it was just marketing. Based on my experience, I would advise not to trust social media ads when it comes to your health—they don’t tell the full story.
During my first visit, the staff appeared friendly and helpful. I decided to do the PRP treatment here, even though I was originally planning to get it done in India through a trusted friend. After meeting Dr. Pouya Mohajer, I felt confident moving forward.
However, after completing the treatment, I started experiencing a different type of pain—possibly from the injections—which has affected my performance. I’m an active runner and recently completed a half marathon in San Diego at a slower pace, but now I’m concerned about this ongoing pain. I’m getting an MRI to find out more.
One of the biggest letdowns was the follow-up. I was told I’d receive a call and a referral to physical therapy, but no one contacted me. When I did get a referral, it was to a provider not covered by my insurance, even after I requested a different one. I had to go through my primary care doctor instead.
From my experience, once they take your payment, the care and attention seem to stop. If you have an athletic or active lifestyle, I recommend finding a provider who truly understands sports-related recovery and is committed to supporting you throughout the process—not just during the sale.

I had adipose stem cell last year. PRP after 3 months. Came back to follow up this year. I am pain free for a year. No swelling any longer since the procedure. Have not taken Ibuprofen for my knee. Been hiking again between 3-7 miles with no swelling afterwards. Wanted to get PRP again today, thinking it will make it better than what I already have. On April 16th 2021 I went to see Dr's Otten and Bady for stem cells in my shoulders and my hips to treat my arthritis. Seven hours later this became the most painful day of my life. I was literally screaming due to the extreme pain in my right hip. I could barely get to the bathroom 10 feet away with the help of a crutch. We called Dr. Otten who said it's just a hematoma and will go away within 24 hours just take the pain pills. Pain pills offered no help. I laid on my stomach partially on the bed. The next day was the same, now Otten says 48 hours. The next day the same so we called for an ambulance. Otten told Summerlin Hospital that it was a hematoma and if they extracted fluid from my hip it would relieve the condition. On the fourth day the interventional radiologists tried to extract fluid, got very little and provided zero relief. The next day they tried to do an MRI, however it was too painful to be moved for them to do it. They had me on oxycodone and morphine. They took me off the morphine and put me on a stronger medication, dilaudid. They released me a week later, however there was no improvement. After two more trips to the hospital, it was determined that they had infected me with pseudomonas aeruginosa, a very dangerous infection with over a 10% fatality rate. This is caused by non sterile conditions during a medical procedure. The hospital had an Orthopedic Surgeon cut my hip open and do an antibiotic flush. They inserted a PICC line in my arm that led to my aorta and i received IV drips 3 times a day for a half hour each. I still could only walk with a walker, getting to the garage and into the car was very difficult. 27 days later I had lost 29 pounds from 151-122. I had the PICC line on and off for 16 months. The pseudomonas aeruginosa recurred twice. Pseudomonas also causes urinary tract infections, trust me, they are very uncomfortable. After 14 months a diagnostic radiologist told me that my arthritis in my hips and shoulders was worse than a year before and that I had more bone loss in my hip. It was after 14 months that I was cleared for a hip replacement. During this time frame of 16 months I had to have a lot of radiation and took a tremendous amount of antibiotics; the side effects may show up for the rest of my life. I put a deposit down of 500 and I cancelled a week before the procedure and they said. I would get a refund in 30 days well it’s been over 30 days and still no refund! Ive made 2 more calls to their office and left messages and still no return call! I had to report it to my credit card company for services not rendered! Dr. Often is a good doctor he performed elbow surgery on me back in 2014! I don’t think dealing with cellaxys is a good choice! Go to regenexx a little more money but worth the money for their PRP and stem cell! UPDATE it took 2 months to refund my money so I’m happy they did the right thing! They also offered complimentary PRP injections

Had five knee operations. Surgeons just kept cutting torn meniscus, grinding arthritis. Knee hurt all the time, misery. Saw ad about Stem Cell from Cellaxys. Took my MRIs into Dr. Otten. The entire staff from the second I walked in, was warm and friendly and caring. No waiting, imagine that! I was escorted into a room where the doctor had already been reviewing my x-rays and had them up to share with me. No secrets here. The doctor himself sat down with me immediately and listened to my history and my pain and then discussed my X-rays and showed me how he could help. He explained the three types of stem cell Therapies and let me choose what I wanted and then he explained to me the process from the moment I would walk in until the moment I would leave Plus he was very candid on my recovery time and what I could and could not do. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both hip joints in 2018. After trying rehabilitation for several month with no improvement in pain levels, I sought out a provider specializing in stem cell treatment. After discussing my diagnosis and treatments with Dr. Otten during a comprehensive consultation, I decided to undergo the adipose procedure in April 2019 for both hips. At the time of the procedure, I would rate my pain level (1-10) an 8 while standing, a 6 laying down and 5 walking. Pain was constant and debilitating. After undergoing the procedure as an outpatient, I was back to normal activities within a week. Pain levels started to decrease after 30 days and significantly after three months. Six months after the procedure, I returned to Cellaxys for a follow-up PRP procedure. Currently, I would rate my pain levels at mostly 0 for standing, laying down and walking. The change has been dramatic and I've been able to return to exercise and activity levels from before the osteoarthritis diagnosis. The staff of Cellaxys is outstanding. This morning, I had my first Platelet Rich Plasma shot which requires the drawing of my blood to prepare the plasma. Takima found a vein and inserted the needle without pain. I am so thankful she has the skill to draw blood in difficult cases. Claudia was the nurse in charge of assisting Dr. Mohajar. Claudia has a great bed side manner as she is able to keep the patient at ease. Dr. Mohajar administered the shots. He explained the process as well as what to expect for the next two days.
I am so thankful Dr. Otten and his office were recommended to me. Dr Otten explained Platelet Rcih Plasma as well as the stem cell treatments. It has been a pleasant experience to be taken care of professionals who are well-trained, courteous, and know how to explain procedures.
