I want everyone who has PCOS or any painful disease to steer clear of this facility. After paying a co pay and my insurance piad the contracted amount I was sent to Collections. I paid it over THREE YEARS AGO. I was just seen at the ER in intense pain and vomiting. I have a huge cyst that requires surgery. I contacted the facility to make an appointment 5 times. I called the collection company who told me I paid in 2023 and to have their office call and confirm. Today, after 3 weeks their accounts department said that they have a Policy not to see patients who went to collections. They legitimately valued $100 dollars over my health. They did nothing but say “apologies “. Obviously don’t be seen here unless you don’t value your health.

I had been putting off my surgery for years, but when it became unavoidable, I wanted the absolute best surgeon for a complex case. I came in with a very large uterus (comparable to a six-month pregnancy), multiple grapefruit size fibroids, plus during surgery they also discovered endometriosis and adhesions.

Given the size and complexity of my case, most surgeons would have required an open surgery. Dr. Swainston was willing to take on the challenge robotically. He was honest that there were no guarantees, but confident in his ability, and he successfully performed the surgery robotically. That level of skill and precision is rare, and it gave me a great deal of confidence going into the procedure.

Dr. Swainston did a fantastic job on my wife’s transabdominal cerclage. We sought out Dr. Swainston after losing two pregnancies at 21 weeks from a weak cervix with a vaginal cerclage.

Due to his amazing work, my wife was able to carry our beautiful baby to full term without any issues or fear that our baby was going to slip out.

By far the best surgeon for hysterectomy! After years of suffering with fibroids and having fibroid removal surgery, I still had all the symptoms. After meeting Dr. Swainston, he initially requested an MRI which I had never gotten before. The MRI found that I Had adenomyosis. I had never heard of the disease. Dr. Swainston answered all of my questions and within three months I had my hysterectomy scheduled. The procedure went well and so did my recovery. I can’t thank Dr. Swainston and his staff enough. This review is about the front office staff. I called and tried to schedule an appointment as a new patient. They asked me all kinds of questions and told me i need to send all my medical records in order for DR Swainston to determine if he is going to see me or not. How am i going to send my medical records to someone ive never seen before and to people ive never seen at this office. Isnt the whole point of an initial visit to discuss my concerns with the doctor and see how we can go about resolving the issues? This is the strangest policy that ive ever heard. Absolutely ridiculous. Sounded like to me that his time is too precious so he has to determine if its worth seeing a patient or not. Probably of course to not waste money or time. I did extensive research to find a doctor that came highly recommended for Endometriosis. I waited on hold to get connected with someone to be told I need to transfer all of my previous history for Dr. Swainston to review before deciding if i am a good fit for him to treat me... I unfortunately do not have the history that they are seeking as this is a new issue. She did offer to ask the doctor if he could see me, and then advised nothing until over a month, but to me it just felt like they did not want to have me as a patient.

Dr. Swainston has been taking care of me for the past year along with Dr. Richards who is my regular OBGYN in the practice. I rarely sit down to write reviews, but this practice deserves 10 stars. On occasion, I am anxious about my health and I have been treated professionally and all my questions are patiently answered. My scheduling needs have been met swiftly and when I had a minor infection, the doctor on call (Dr. Reynolds) kept me on the phone while she made sure Walgreens was filling my antibiotic. I’m finally making this review now to bring awareness to any woman about to get an IUD. If they tell you the nurse practitioners can do it, RUN! About 5 years ago I had the most traumatic first time IUD experience at this facility. I went in thinking it would be an easy process as I was young, and no one explained the process to me. I was scheduled with a nurse practitioner who had NO IDEA what she was doing. I was her Guinea pig this day. After 5-6 mins of tugging my cervix, what felt like she was trying to shove the IUD inside of me, instead of immediately grabbing a doctor, she grabbed ANOTHER nurse practitioner who, who in return, grabbed ANOTHER! A process that should’ve taken 5-10 mins was now taking over 20-30 mins. Then the girls tried to convince me to try again some other time. I said no. After all the pain they were putting me through, I wanted to get it over with and just get the thing in place. Finally, someone decided to grab Dr Swainston and he was able to put the IUD inside within 5 mins. I write this review now as I just got my iud replaced with my new Dr, and she was able to take out the old one, and insert it within 3-5 mins. She knew how traumatized and scared I was and made the whole process quick and easy for me. I wish my first experience would’ve gone this way. Moral or the story, do not get an IUD placed by a nurse that doesn’t know what she’s doing, and don’t let the front office convince you to do it with the nurse practitioner.

Wouldn’t tell me my copayment for my ultrasound and when I asked for the code so I can verify with my insurance I got so much push back and then when I got it I told them my insurance says your contracted with insurance and my copayment is 20%and the office should know the contracted rate and they will give you an estimate and then the front office staff wouldn’t tell me any amount then they want to reschedule me when I took time off and I asked can you guys verify my insurance so I know on that visit and they said no and then one of the girls says well with medical bills you don’t have to pay back just go to collections but I’m just trying to have an idea so I can pay it back

I want to start by saying that I actually like my doctor, and this review is regarding Sophia and her poor conduct. My doctor prescribed me a medication for my health condition. The initial prescription was filled by the pharmacy and paid for by insurance with the assumption that a "Prior Authentication Form" would be filled out for further Rxs, which is standard practice. I received a letter in the mail from my insurance requesting the form because Sophia had not done her job and fill out the form for my insurance. I called to request the form to be sent and the phone operator said she would leave a note. On 9-5-2024, a prescription for a different medication was sent to my pharmacy. I called WHASN to inquire and the phone operator lied to me and said my insurance doesn't cover my medication that was originally prescribed. I know she lied because I called the insurance company and the Pharmacy Services Technician assured that my medication is covered and they simply need the Prior Authentication, as is the policy. I called the doctor's office back and insisted that I receive my original prescription and that the insurance company does, in fact, cover my medication. Sophia is dishonest and harmful to patients who need their medication. There was absolutely no reason for her to tell these lies, as it is her job to know what paperwork to fill out and how to fill it out, it's quite a stretch to say she ACCIDENTALLY lied to me about my medication and insurance coverage. Please rectify this issue and retrain your employees to follow policy, not just do whatever they want at the risk of patient health.

So far 10/10– Dr. Swainston is the third doctor I went through for what I was going through for years — hoping for a different answer. The first two doctors said birth control should fix my problem…. A few years later negative, it hasn’t .

Then I heard about Dr. Swainston. Yes, he gets booked out— but there is a reason & yes he’s worth the wait ladies! I love the fact that he’s very detailed and goes through a series of questions… he’s one of the few doctors that DID NOT make me feel like a number. My actual PCP even complimented his detailedness in notes and what will be happening with my care.

The fact that he took the time with me and asked series of questions did an exam all in one that — that speaks a lot. He didn’t have me do any running around.

Only con would be the answering service— it is a wait but they do take their time also with each call and they DO get back to you!

Pre surgery review:

I have struggled with very bad endometriosis for years now. I was told when I delivered my last baby via C-section 9 years ago that I had endometriosis but I was not told much more. I have been living with it and my health has been declining significantly over the years. I have been misdiagnosed so many times with diseases I do not have. I was finally referred to Dr Swainston and my god do I feel relieved. Getting in to see him took some time, but I guess that’s to be expected with the reviews he has. I definitely didn’t mind the wait in the waiting room, they have it separated GYN and OB, so it was rather peaceful on the GYN side. When I got into the back the wait wasn’t much longer from there. He didn’t rush me at all, through my tears he listened and asked questions. He reassured me the wait to get into the OR would be nothing like the wait to see him. I was told the scheduler would be in contact within a week to get me in the books and my pre surgery ultrasound is scheduled for first week of February. Dr Swainston listened to all of my concerns, he also listened to the past problems I have been dealing with and will have another surgeon assisting him to rid those problems as well. I just can’t believe how smooth this process was and how great he is! I will update post surgery! So far ladies, he IS worth the wait!!

My surgery is scheduled for 3/25, scheduling and insurance was all a breeze thanks to Danielle.
Don’t fret ladies, my surgery was scheduled 2.5 months out because I also needed to be on the bowel surgeons schedule.
They would have gotten me done sooner if not that for that.
I am down to my final 10 DAYS! That’s it! My pre op is on 3/18 and then I’m ready to rock and roll.

Do not let his wait times deter you, it’s all worth it!

He has been there for me during a horrible miscarriage and later performed three surgeries which have all gone exceptionally well. Dr Swainston is incredible! I just had a Hysterectomy with him and he did amazing! Very accurate and thorough. He explains everything he is going to do or did so perfectly so you understand, and welcomes questions and always answers them. He makes you feel like he is truly listening to your concerns and makes sure to help put you at ease with anything hinderances you may be having! He wants to make sure that you are feeling good and will do anything to point you in the right direction. I would recommend him to anyone!! Love Dr Swainston!

My experience was great! I’ve been going to Dr. Swainston since 2018 and he’s always been compassionate and caring. He loves what he does and it shows! I always feel confident in him taking care of me. He also is patient and informative and is good at what he does! He took time to explain why I came in and gave other helpful incite. Update after surgery :

It has only been a week since my procedure, but I feel like a whole new person. From start to finish this has been a scary process for me. At my pre-op Dr. Swainston gave me an abundance of info about what to expect, before and after surgery. I am someone who needs to know exactly what the plan will be with the contingencies.

I had a list of questions that I never even had to bring out, because he already had a well detailed handout for me to review. This is what Dr. Swainston specializes in. He understands endometriosis pain and fibroids in ways other doctors I have met do not. Having a specialist when it comes to these unique issues will make all the difference in your healing process.

As a black woman it has been a challenge finding healthcare providers who validate my experiences.

This was not an issue with Dr. Swainston, from Day 1 he listened to me and had a plan to treat my issues. I did not have to beg him to listen. I just had to be a patient and that in itself makes life easier when you are already in pain.

I was given options and time to decide a course of action. He wanted to ensure that I felt comfortable going into such a huge procedure so he provided guidance.

When the time came, I closed my eyes and left it up to him and god. I suggest watching some of his youtube videos, the one about the snowman and the Ice cream cone made me feel better. Spoiler alert, it is not about an ice cream cone or a snowman, but it is informative lol.

I feel like a whole new person and it has only been a week. Everyday I feel stronger and I no longer feel like I am carrying around a bowling ball in my stomach.

Initial Review : Prior to Surgery

Dr. Swainston is an amazing human and has the best bedside manner.

Before I go into fluffing his feathers let's address the obvious. This is a busy office because Dr. Swainston is the best at dealing with Fibroids along with other specialities. You cannot be the best and have reasonable wait times and short hold times.

He has a friendly patient team, so please cut them some slack. You can tell they are all very busy.

It is important to remember that as it can be frustrating to wait when you are anxious.

I suggest downloading a show on netflix or bringing a book.

I personally have never waited what I would consider to be very long to see the Dr.

I have waited on hold and had to call the office many times, but someone always calls me back with a kind tone and the info that I need.

It is a business and they are dealing with a large volume of patients. Dr. Swainston teaches, performs surgery and takes time to chit chat with patients. He is only one person and he is doing very well in my book. He has never rushed me in any of my appointments.

I get very anxious about medical procedures but when I see Dr. Swainston I smile because I know he is taking care of me as if I was his own daughter. I have multiple fibroids 10-15 and an enlarged uterus. I won't go into great detail but it is a scary situation for me. I google and I ask questions. I also feed off of energy and due to his calm nature, I am at ease about my upcoming surgeries.

I will update my review after my surgeries, but so far my appointments have been informative and left me feeling as though he has this covered.

I am someone who reads reviews and I understand the importance of choosing the right physician. Keep in mind he has not cut me open yet, but the fact that I am at peace with surgery speaks volumes.

I started seeing Doctor Swainston back in early 2013, a friend referred me to his practice and I was blessed to be assigned to him as a patient. He delivered my twins (2014), and my youngest son 13 months later (2015) and my daughter (2021) my daughters pregnancy was very high risk (complete placenta previa and percreta with bladder involvement) I needed a hysterectomy right after delivery, Doctor Swainston was the absolute BEST through it all, answering all my questions and kept me at ease during a very stressful time, he formed an amazing team to successfully deliver my daughter at 34wks, his expertise and professionalism saved our lives and we both went home 4 days after delivery/c-hyst successfully and safe without any complications to our family.
Doctor Swainston has always made me feel comfortable, he answers all my questions without hesitation, his professionalism and work ethic are amazing and all time high! He's very dedicating, compassionate and humane, something that to me, is very important. I wish ALL doctors had his qualities. I HIGHLY recommend him and his entire practice staff. I wouldn't gio anywhere else for women health care.

I found Dr. Swainston through a friend of a friend and several coworkers have been to him for surgery. If you’ve got endometriosis this is the doctor to see. I feel very confident with him doing my upcoming surgery. He is very caring and understanding of the suffering we go through with endometriosis. Our community is grateful for doctors like this.

UPDATE: I had my surgery 12 weeks ago and it all went so well despite how bad my stage 4 endometriosis is. Dr. Swainston will take you on as an endometriosis patient with the utmost care & a plan. I wrote my original review below 2.5 years ago. However, my thoughts remain the same. Dr. Swainston is the best. Shelia and Andrea and Dr. Richards are equally as wonderful. You will not have a bad experience with anyone in this office. They are so caring, kind and patient. They advocate for you with insurance companies when it comes to recommended prescriptions. Best OBGYN doctor and office in town. I bounced around for a couple years, unhappy with either the doctor or their office staff. I started here 5+ years ago with Dr. Zeluff who I loved. He retired and I got pregnant so they switched me to Dr. Swainston. I love how he is no nonsense, straightforward and has a great sense of humor. He takes his time and made me feel like I was in charge of my care. His PAs Andrea and Shelia are just as amazing with wonderful bedside manner. I saw Dr. Richards once, also wonderful and caring. I trust every doctor and nurse in this office. Office staff is also great. Nurses Cheryl and Sue deserve an award for patience. I would call all the time with first time mom questions, they would call back within an hour or two every single time, take time answering my questions and never made me feel dumb or like I was a pain in the neck (which I probably was). Sometimes it is hard to get through on the phone in the morning but usually in the afternoon I get through with no problem. Highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Swainston is very knowledgeable and from my research, a world renowned robotics surgeon. After my surgical consult with him today l have full confidence that this will be a successful treatment. Dr Swainston is always so kind and compassionate. Even when it is not his wheelhouse, he is always willing to provide you with suggestions and/or references. There is a wait at times, however, that goes to show how he values his Dr/patient relationships verses just treating you as a number and rotating into the next. My other review was deleted. Dr. Swainston mid-diagnosed me and I had to seek care from a specialist. Once I did this he was rude at my next appointment and made awful comments about my physical anatomy that were offensive and disgusting. I also just received a letter that I was no longer his patient because of our breakdown of physician-patient relationship. I would never refer him to anyone and I haven’t been to him in a year.

Had my surgery with Dr. Swainstan. I've been suffering for a long time from another local surgeon that retired who was the last personthat cut me open. The most wonderful doctor experience I have had since moving to Las Vegas. Dr Wong was under time constraints yet I never felt rushed.
