Dr. Perez-Tselikis aka Dr. Perez or Dr. Jackie Perez has been my children's pediatrician since their birth. After my son turned a year old, she had him checked through a simple blood test for Fragile X Syndrome (long story), in which he was diagnosed after results coming back positive! I can bet most pediatrician In THE NATION don't even know or the very least think of Fragile X Syndrome! I bet if I had another doctor, they would have probably just given my son the general "Autism Spectrum Disorder" (ASD) diagnosis, which many if not most often do, and would go as far as to say, some, if not a good deal, may actually have Fragile X Syndrome (FXS), which is, actually the number one genetic cause of Autism, or even something else, but had never had the adequate medical guidance to be checked! Dr. Perez caught this at one year of age, helping me start a regimen of therapies and not losing precious time! She always answers our questions and concerns, and is patient with us. At times she might be quick with her prognosis, but it's only due to 30+ years of experience in the practice, and has seen just about everything. Plus, if we have any concerns or doubts, she is flexible and pro active in covering any needed bases. As a mother, I worry, and Dr. Perez is always there to make sure my children are healthy and doing well, or if any modifications need to be made, or if they're sick, quickly get a plan of action going to get them better as soon as possible. We've been with her for well over a decade, so I think I can speak candidly regarding her review. Additionally, her nurses are wonderful, and the staff is helpful, friendly and kind. Yes, during peek seasons, predominantly winter, there might be a bit of a hold on the phone to schedule an appointment, and likewise have a bit longer wait in the waiting room, but during those times, it's something to be expected not just at Desert Valley Pediatrics, but clinics (adults too) in general. However, I usually can schedule an appointment on the phone in less than 10 minutes, and our wait times don't usually exceed anything more than 10-15 minutes, it just all depends on the day and the demand- good doctors might run late because they actually care and take the necessary time with each patient- good doctors are worth the wait, and Dr. Perez is worth the visit. The facilities at each of the three locations I've been to are separated by well and sick waiting rooms, which is nice, but then you get called to the back and at times have to pass by other patients, so nothing, of course, is 100% separated. The murals throughout each clinic are beautifully painted and create a nice distraction for some, however some of the rooms are in need of a deep clean (walls, baseboards, etc. - things not quickly noted on a daily basis), but overall are generally clean and well maintained. Overall, I strongly recommend Dr. Perez and Desert Valley Pediatrics, who have other good physicians worth looking into, especially when/if Dr. Perez is away and you need a back up doctor. ;) Hope this helps. :)

Ella no es buena pediatra nunca la recomendaría con nadie. A mis 3 hijos los vio por años y nunca le ayudó traté a otra pediatra y en la primera visita me dijo lo que la señora no sabía que era en años. Si la ni siquiera se toma el tiempo en ver al paciente solo lee el expediente y te dice cómo esta que tiene?. Se supone que ella es la doctora .

If I could give zero stars I would! My mom took my 10 going on 11 year old twin brother and sister to this pediatrician and they were humiliated and degraded. My baby sister is bigger for a kid her age but that is no excuse to say “she is way above the percentile for a kid her age, due to her weight she will likely start her period in the next year”. That is useful information but that should not be shouted for her to hear. No wonder kids have issues going to the Dr as they get older. My brother just so happened to lose all of his baby teeth in the last few years and she said “no reason to brush your teeth with those big gaps in your mouth”. She’s a pediatrician NOT A DENTIST. Furthermore, she asked to look down their pants at age 10 right in front of each other without asking the other to leave the room.For my baby sister, right in front of my dad and my t brother she said wow you’re only 10 and you already have hair down there”. She wouldn’t even eat dinner. Shame on you “Dr” Perez!

I took my daughter to Dr. Perez for the first time (and last) due to something concerning. First, she seemed unhappy to be there and she did not have a friendly demeanor. She saw my daughter for less than 2 minutes, asked me how long ago I noticed the bumps all over her body, then diagnosed her with pityriasis rosea. She asked me if the bumps hurt or if they were itchy, I told her no pain and sometimes itchy, and again she said it was pityriasis rosea, then sent us home.
Took my daughter the next day for a 2nd opinion at SW medical since it is closer to me, the doctor asked my daughter all the questions first then asked me a few more questions, he checked my daughter thoroughly and looked at all the bumps, then gave a diagnosis and explained his reasoning for his diagnosis (another P word, forgot what he said). I went for the 2nd opinion because pityriasis looks similar to ringworm and my daughter had nothing like that on her body! As a concerned parent, Dr. Perez did nothing to help alleviate my concerns and I felt she was too dismissive. I don't understand why she has 5 star reviews here, maybe she was having a bad day when we saw her.

Dr. Perez has been great with our baby. She is knowledgeable and takes the time to listen to our concerns. As first time parents that is very important to us. Highly recommended.
