I originally went to Dr. Strimling’s office for a sclerotherapy treatment for varicose veins. My appointment was with the PA. Although she was nice, it was what occurred afterward that ultimately led to this one-star review and my decision to never return to the clinic.
I was charged over $600 for the treatment and instructed to return for a follow-up appointment, which I did. Unfortunately, the treatment did absolutely nothing for the vein. I understand there is a disclaimer stating that a percentage of patients may not respond to treatment, however, I was then charged an additional $50 for the follow-up appointment that THEIR office instructed me to schedule. I found that ridiculous, especially considering I had zero results. I was eventually able to speak with the office manager and receive a refund for the follow-up fee.
Fast forward to recently — I visited a vein specialist that had actually been recommended to me at the time of my follow-up appointment. The specialist charged only $299 for one vial, which equates to three syringes, and I could immediately tell the veins were properly treated this time around unlike my experience at Dr. Strimling’s office.
At this point, I genuinely believe my lack of results last year came down to an injector who lacked sufficient experience with this specific procedure. Charging patients over $600 for a treatment that produces absolutely no results is unacceptable, especially when a specialist can provide a better outcome at nearly half the price.

To spend over $600 and receive ZERO results was an incredible waste of money.

In the last year, I started seeing Alyssa Caparelli at this office. Originally I went in for an issue with hair loss. I quickly discovered how kind and competent she is and wanted her for all of my skin needs. She is knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions. I am so grateful I met Dr. Handler and his staff. The minute you walk in the office, you feel the beautiful energy. The waiting room is elegant and peaceful. The staff is courteous and accommodating. Dr. Handler really looks at his patients as important and worthy of his expertise and attention. As a 77 year old woman, I’m used to being treated with condescension rather than deserving special attention. With Dr. Handler and staff, I feel honored, not ignored.

Doctor Handler is the best dermatologist. I have rosacea, the bad one that is like pimples all over my face. Not only are they ugly but they hurt and they were close to my eyes. Dr. Handler explained what I needed to do and I followed his direction and now it is completely under control. I love him. He is fantastic and I have been seeing him for years. The entire team from check in to the ma in the room to check out were very friendly, efficient and professional. We didn't even wait 5 mins before being shown to the room and weren't in the room for 5 mins before being seen by the doctor. The lady I care for have extreme OCD regarding any and all bumps on her body, even at 90. The doctor was kind, patient, indulgent and professional. I'm so grateful our PCP refered us here. I am convincing myself that Dr. Strimling is a great doctor. He is… when he is not in too big of a hurry. My first visit to him for a medical consultation years ago was pleasant. Unfortunately, this second one was not but rather disappointing. Showing up 15 minutes early for my appointment, I was called back 40 minutes past the appointment time and sat alone for another 30 minutes in the treatment room. I have had Botox and fillers done somewhere else before and experienced only minor discomfort with little to no bruises. With Dr. Strimling, OUCH!, I found his injection technique to be so rough and painful my eyes teared up even though I was not crying. The needle was getting dull after a few jabs, yet he kept poking me repeatedly as if he was in a hurry. Staff were, however, amazing.

It's dissapointing how the front desk manage their patient's appointment. I've scheduled appt. abt. 2-3 months ago for Dr. Strimling & now, the front desk just telling me that Dr. Strimling is not available for the day of my appointment. They just made the business unreliable. They said I can keep my appointment but w/ Dr. Handler, & I agreed, & now they're telling me Dr. Handler is not available. Once I get to check out there were other people standing there while my card was exposed and I noticed their cards were not confiscated . I made an appointment for Dr. Strimling 4 months ago. Previously read his reviews and did some research. I went to the office for the first time. His staff called me promptly and asked for my insurance and ID. Next I got an iPad to complete paperwork. The nurse called me into the back afterwards. We spoke briefly regarding why I was there. After waiting a short time Dr. Strimling came in and spoke with me. He is very detailed, thorough, personable and knowledgeable. After an examination he asked if I wanted to address my issue yesterday? I stated that I did. His nurse numbed me and he walked me thru exactly what he was doing and why. My overall experience was a 10 out 10. I recommend him and his office if you are considering. I am healing well and very happy with his treatment.

I was seen for 5 minutes waited for 25 mins. Charged a 60 dollar co pay and I asked specifically about removing skin tags before I called and how much. I called my insurance and they said it would depend on the office. I go in and Dr Striemling told me it was 500 for 3 small skin tags. then he brought it down to 350. I felt like I am being hussled and what mood they are in or if he likes you he might help you out. I want be back. It was a waste of time. He hardly looked at me. I waited 6 mos to be seen and 5 mins he saw me and I dont feel like he seemed to care much at all. Brushed me off.

If the provider would be more inclined to listening to the patients concerns. I am aware I am not the only patient but just a couple more minutes and I would have been satisfied. I was not able to address all my skins concerns. Overall I felt really rushed and was told the doctor was not able to return to see me. I sat in the waiting room for more than 10 minutes. A doctor who listens to concerns and seems to care about the concerns is a gold mine. Just a few more minutes go a long way and would create an experience that surpasses expectations. It was mentioned I had forgot to address a concern and was told I’d have to schedule another appointment and was told the provider was far too busy. I personally only see a doctor if it’s necessarily not for pleasure. I am paying for a copayment and my insurance is paying a portion. The doctors are great but the billing dept is the worst.
Dr. Handler is the best dermatologist that I have ever been to in my life! I really hate to lose him. However, talking to Emily and Jamie is a worthless waste of time. Moreover, they are extremely rude if you are lucky enough to get them on the phone. I don’t think humans work there anymore! You can’t get ahold of anyone to discuss your bill. You have to constantly log into one of many portals to try to see if you have any answers to the million billing voicemails that you leave! No kidding!
I have a primary and secondary insurance. My secondary picks up what UMR doesn’t pay. But Emily and Jamie were having none of that! They say I owe a $25 co-pay from my secondary (on top of other charges) to pay the outstanding balances. At times, they were charging me for more than what my balance was from my primary!
But all that could have probably been ironed out, if they ever answered their phone! They only communicate online now. NO ONE EVER PICKS UP THE PHONE ANYMORE TO TALK TO IN PERSON! It’s so weird!
I can’t take this horror anymore. I’m out.
Thank you Dr. Handler for your excellent dedication to your patients. I will miss you. But I will not miss Emily and Jamie. They are the worst billers in America! They just don’t care. They are in the wrong profession if you ask me!

Dr. Handler is amazing. He was able to provide the right course of action to clear up my son's acne which was severe. We tried various other methods and I wish I would have listened sooner. Dr. Handler took the time to review all options and I never felt rushed. He was extremely compassionate. I am proud to say my son's acne has been clear for about 5 months now and am grateful for Dr. Handler. My son now has beautiful skin and feels great in it.

Dr Handler is always in a rush and doesn’t take the time to really give his patient the time to ask questions or be concerned about a new medication and is very dismissive, the wait alone is the waiting room is absolutely horrible and good luck trying to get though on the phone line to make an appointment, it’ll never happen. I do not recommend this practice and doctor at all. As some others pointed out, the staff and doctor himself are extremely unprofessional, rude, uncaring. Doctor was 1 hour and 15 late to see me for my 10:45am appointment which was scheduled 3 weeks in advance-and the time was named by the office, not me.
When I approached the window after waiting for over 30 min and asked about the wait, I was met with indifferent stare of the receptionist who said that the doctor is "running late" and asked me if I wanted to re-schedule. I live in Green Valley and it took me 30 min just to get there! No, I didn't want to re-schedule. Besides, if the doctor is that late for what's essentially is a morning appointment (for which he charges $75, BTW), I hate to think how late he would be for an afternoon one.

I was taken int the treatment room by the nurse (or an assistant-who knows) after 50 mins of waiting in the reception and then was made wait for another 25 min.
When doctor finally appeared, he was clearly rushed. He kept pushing Ultherapy (which I didn't want) and was very reluctant to suggest anything else as far as RF goes. I've done Ultherapy before and really didn't want it again. I suspect the reason for such a hard sell is the price-$4500.
When it came to Botox, he completely ignored my request for 40 units and NO DROOPING effects (which I repeated 3 times and made a point of), loaded one syringe with 50 units and jabbed me hurriedly all over. It hurt.
Well, guess what? 3 days later my eyelids are drooping AND the effects are uneven: one brow is higher than the other.
I've been doing Botox for the past 7 years in several countries (including Thailand) and never had these issues. Mainly because other doctors listened and took their time.
If you value your time, money and, more to the point, your appearance, stay away from that clinic.
I had just gone to Lakes Dermatology and saw Dr.Rueckl-what a difference! Apart from being free, the consultation was professional, doctor took his time and suggested a much more effective treatment which will cost $1500 less than Ulthera. Also, he sure didn't make me wait for 1hr and 15 min.

Unprofessional, incompetent staff, rude...just to name a few. My husband came to this office with what we thought may have been a staph infection - the front desk told us they accepted our insurance and our plan. However once we showed up they said they didn't - so we also showed then another plan we have....again they weren't sure of they took that plan either. After paying money up front and making all the calls myself to confirm that they INDEED accept our plan we had to then go back and forth to get reimbursed.
Even though the Doctor was pleasant, he didn't take a biopsy of the area to confirm if this was staph and what kind which would help with treatment. All he did was place my husband on extremely strong antibiotics (oral and creams) which did nothing. We ended up seeing our PCP who was beyond shocked at this treatment and said the amount of meds placed on my husband was enough for an Atomic bomb.

I went because my lower face is getting old and sagging. They recommended Ultherapy. You should start serving results in 3-6 months. I'm 9 months out and I see no results. I called and they keep telling me to wait and there are probably results and that I can't see them.
THERE ARE NO RESULTS! My friends and f family don't see any results and wasted my money. Don't use unless you want to waste your money.

I wanted to get rid off some vultures on my nose called tricoepiteliomas i had those for years around my nose and eyes and i wanted to use laser, he took a sample on the first appointment for "biopsy" even though i told him what it was and what i wanted to get done. The procedure was so easy he could have done it in the fisrt visit. to me seems like he just wanted me to schedule another visit to pay twice. Everyone was very unprofessional i had to clean my self, put the anestesia myself, waited for over 40 min, no body had gloves or did help at all. The assistant or nurse or whatever it was didn't answer any of my questions either and she didnt seem to care, she said you just clean the face put your anestesia and wait. I asked twice to make sure he would get all the little spots to get my face clear and he was even mad because i had questions. Exuse me! Of course i have questions is my face! When he finally finished i also had to clean the blood after and put antibiotic myself, and 1 week later after healing i can see the voultures still there he didnt get more than half of them. I had to stay because they made me pay up front because i was ready to leave when i saw the unprofessionalism. He mention if something is missing you have to come back and pay again so obviously he purposely didnt finish so i can go back and pay again. My scars heel well but in not going back and pay for a visit again i rather look else where, and my advise you should too.

I am very grateful to Dr. Robert Strimling and his staff for a treatment that greatly improved the scar that I had after surgery to remove a basal cell carcinoma cluster from just above my lip. I had the surgery done at another dermatology clinic, which was successfully treated. However, my scar was fairly noticeable. The other clinic quoted that I would need several laser procedures to lighten and smooth my scar and it would be very expensive. Dr. Strimling offered two alternatives, one a simple treatment for a reasonable cost. I elected to do the simple option, which Dr. Strimling personally performed. I am very pleased with this outcome. Always get a second opinion!

Dr. Strimling is fantastic. Dr. Strimling saved my life. He found lymphoma and sent me to a world class lymphoma specialist and I am alive and cured two years later now with complete remission. First, yes you can wait for a dermatologist everywhere. From time to time while going over a body they spot pre-cancerous or cancerous growths and they must take immediate action which causes delays. Wake up folks, this saves lives, so you have to wait sometimes. Act like an understanding adult, please. He has removed, through surgeries, my other cancerous growths. Dr. Strimling has also performed botox injections and laser treatments, all with great results. My wife and I have been going to him for 10 years now. His staff has always been kind and professional. Dr. Strimling is MOHS Certified, a rare and extensive process for Certification among dermatologists. Negative comments for Dr. Strimling stem from ignorant folks who can harm patients in need of a highly qualified doctor!

Unprofessional, careless and unqualified. I am a 34 year old male, been doing botox for 5 years, my doses as precise and specific: 46 units in total, 6 units here, 18 units there, 15 there etc. I came to Dr. Strimling's clinic with a full history of treatments, exact doses and precise locations for the botox.

Here's why you should learn from my mistake and not come here:

1) Dr. Strimling doesn't keep track of doses and locations. On my previous clinic if they were treating a particular area they would load a syringe just for that area, with the precise dose (i.e. 18 units). He loads up 1 syringe for everything. Ask Dr Strimiling how much he used in the left eye and he will have no clue... he doesn't measure or keep notes.

2) It's also unnecessarily painful because he loads up 1 syringe for inject your whole face with it. The needle is blunt after a few jabs and then every other jab is unnecessarily painful (and leave bruises).

3) He messes up locations. For the first time in 5 years my face is unbalanced and not proportional after a treatment. My eyebrows raise in different heights in an obvious mistake in location. How many units was I given at that location? Who knows.

4) He messes up the dose. I have a full history of using 6 units for gummy smile. After 2 weeks with his treatment, it didn't make a single difference. Was it a mistake in location or in dosing? Probably both, there is no way to now because he doesn't keep records.

5) They ask for payment in advance and them mix the botox in another room. You're supposed to trust them but they don't trust you. That has never happened before, the clinics I visit always load up multiple syringes in front of you.

0/10 will not recommend Dr Strimling and his clinic to anyone.

Dr. Handler used a tool catheterize that was supposed to be use in my nose to stop bleeding, he has used it outside of my nose cost me a big damage and on top I had to pay for repairing it ,and that's how have lost the appearance and money!!!! shame on this I don't now if he should be called Dr.

Seems like it is problems. Only been here 2x so far. At least this second time I was able to fill 2 of the 4 prescriptions they gave me. Dr. Strimling was better than Dr. Handler, but that isn't saying much. Dr. Strimling recommended a procedure to clear my acne but warned me that it isn't covered by ins. I say I can't afford anything not covered. So what does he do? Writes me a prescription for Retin-A that is like $200 that the pharmacist said insurance doesn't cover because it is all cosmetic. I don't even know how my skin would react since it is very sensitive, which I told him.Gives me a prescription for Avar and a coupon/discount. The coupon card doesn't work. Ridiculous because there is a similar generic formula, so the pharmacist is going to try and give him a call tomorrow. Good luck with that. I left his nurse a message yesterday and still have not heard back. He told me to come back in a month. First doctor office that I've been to that didn't even ask if I wanted to schedule a followup appt. I might just go find a good dermatologist that cares about more than just money. Speaking of money, he recommended I use their skin cleansing pads that cost $20 for 60 pads. The pads were salicylic acid and I think either witch hazel or glycolic acid. Bought a 90ct package of salicylic pads and a bottle of witch hazel for about $10 at Walgreens. Let's just say I'm debating on whether to call back for my next appt or find a new dermatologist.

Look for my review of October 7, 2021 regarding the outrageous way the doctor dealt with me after I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for him to come to my exam room. Just disgusting for a professional. You will see other reviews on Yelp regarding waiting times which I have always encountered but this was beyond the pale. I won’t ever be back and if I could I would give 0 stars!

I have been a dermatology patient with Dr. Handler and Dr. Strimling for over 20 years. They are the best in what they do, and they take time to listen to the patients. Dr. Handler is very thorough in finding and removing any suspicious looking moles, sunspots, and growths. I see Dr. Handler once or twice annually to get my sunspots checked. The office staff is very organized and the Drs. are always timely with appointments, and the office is extremely efficient. Dr. Handler has also been the dermatologist for my parents and my 36 year old son when they lived in Las Vegas as well. I highly recommend Dr. Handler, and Strimling Dermatology.

I had a BAD rash, and was lucky enough to get in to see Dr Handler. His nurse Liza, made me very comfortable and when I met Dr Handler, he was the most professional and caring Dr that I have ever had. He explained my situation to me, and told me what I needed to do.
