This visit was not as good as any previous visits. Needed to replace a broken contact and instead of a through exam, I got about 1/2 of the previous exams. They were about an hour behind which was unheard of with any exams, and my exam was cut short to get the person behind me in faster. Hopefullly this is not an ongoing problem.

I had the best experience. The office is beautiful and very tranquil, not what I was expecting. The Dr Woo and the staff were amazing. As the mother of a 12-year-old boy, I feel morally compelled to publicly disclose the nightmare my son and I experienced while under the care of Dr. Lucy Chen (OD). After learning that she is affiliated with the Contact Lens Institute of Nevada, I realized that I have a responsibility to warn others to remain vigilant about her improper and unprofessional clinical practices.

Dr. Chen previously operated two clinics in Houston — Lakewood Eye Care and Queenston Eye Care (located at the same address, with only the name changed). Before seeking care from her, I strongly advise everyone to carefully review the many real patient reviews on Yelp and Google. The rebranding of her Texas clinic to obscure negative reviews is, in itself, a clear red flag.

In August 2023, Dr. Chen diagnosed my son with mild myopia (−1.58D in the right eye and −1.48D in the left eye) and strongly encouraged us to participate in a so-called “clinical trial” organized by Acuity. She claimed that without immediate intervention, my son would face serious risks such as cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal detachment, and that his prescription could worsen to −8.00D. She never clearly explained our legal rights as research participants. Instead, she used fear and a sense of urgency to pressure us into signing the informed consent remotely, bypassing proper compliance procedures.

Under her arrangement, my son underwent a total of 11 so-called “clinical trial treatments” at Queenston Eye Care in Texas and at an office located at 8921 Research Dr, Irvine, California. The Irvine location was later confirmed to be unauthorized and unlicensed to provide eye care services in California. This site was neither approved by Acuity nor authorized by any relevant regulatory authorities and is currently under formal investigation.

Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable. I appreciate the honest evaluation of the lense for my left eye from Dr Chen based on the testing and photos done by the thorough doctor trainee, and Dr Chen's cornea experience and expertise. She explained everything so that I understood my present eye condition and that which I might experience in the future w different methods of treatment. Be careful going to this place — the woman running it is all about the money. They’ll tell you whatever they need to just to get you to pay upfront. I came in for a contact lens fitting, and the doctor went through the full exam without giving me even a ballpark estimate, even though I kept asking throughout the appointment.

Then at the end? She hits me with a $5,000 quote for contacts. I’ve been wearing specialty lenses for over 15 years and have never paid more than $800. When I asked for my prescription to be sent to my long-time eye doctor in California, she said they could fax it over.

Well, instead of a proper prescription, she sent a message that somehow led to my California doctor refusing to see me — after years of being a loyal patient. It was clear she was upset that I didn’t want to buy from her, so she tried to sabotage me from getting lenses anywhere else.

Joke’s on her. I went to another lens provider and got fitted quickly, respectfully, and professionally — and only paid $600 for my specialty lenses. Nice try, but you didn’t win.

I never think to leave a review for Doctors, but Dr. Woo deserves it. Going to an office and receiving care these days feels like bringing a car into a chop shop. There is very little communication and patient care. It is the exact opposite at the Contact Lens Institute of Nevada. I received personal attention and care from the moment I called to the moment I am writing this review. Dr. Woo answered questions that I didn’t even think to ask which I find to be a comforting rarity as of late. Open transparency, attention to detail, one on one focus, and fast response in communication are all things that bring the level of care at this office to 5 stars. Highly recommend!

I just want to say that Dr. Woo is the best of the best in scleral lenses. For individuals like myself with keratoconus and having a corneal transplant done on both of my eyes, i have struggled going from one specialist to another and end up with the same results, a set of sclerals that will either fell out with quick movements or where very uncomfortable. That changed when I went to Dr. Woo, office, this Dr was able to fit me with a pair of sclerals that feel very comfortable, and i am able to see perfectly. I can wear my scleral lenses for 12 plus hours and have zero issues. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended. Susan, thanks for being very helpful.

Dr. Woo and Dr. Wong are both amazing at their job! Two women of true passion for their filed of study. I saw Dr. Woo for a consultation of my R eye, from a long term injury. She sat down with me and got to know me and how the injury occurred. She was very knowledgeable and explained every test she was doing. She was able to provide feedback to the exact and had me walking out her office knowing I'd be able to get my vision back at least 90%! Dr. Wong is who I've been following up with after getting my contact, another amazing woman who takes the time to get to know you, explain how the contact works and provide accurate information of the process of the contact.
Highly recommend these two amazing Doctors who show true compassion of their work and their patients.

I was hoping that I had found a doctor that could fit me into the correct lenses. Unfortunately, there were some unnecessary delays that did not allow for this. I feel that the doctor sold me on the lenses and then I never saw her again. The next person worked with me on the lenses. I saw her twice and then I switched to a different person. Initially you have 90 days to decide, but because of miscommunications/availability...I really only had my lenses for 2 weeks before I had to decide. This was a stressful experience and the lenses are truly hard to get used to. This was definitely NOT worth the money that I am out and I wish that I would not have signed the contract. Please do your homework before signing up for these lenses.

Obviously anything dealing with your eyes can be very stressful. Having had keratoconus for many years, I’ve been fitted for multiple lenses in the past. Even considering that we decided to do the eyeprint custom fitted lenses that actually make a mold of your eye, it was painless, friendly, and stress-free. I have had many issues with my eyes including making the mistake of having RK surgery in the early 90's which has led to a serious case of Keratoconus which was treated successfully by Dr. Wellish using a cross linking procedure. My regular eye Dr. Mallinger has done everything that she could do give me the best vision possible with glasses, but it just came to the point where at best I was barely able to pass the driving test. When Dr. Mallinger recommended Dr. Woo I was very skeptical and hesitant. I had worn hard contact lenses in my teens, and they were so uncomfortable that I could not wear them. I did some research on Scalera lenses and after nearly failing the driving test I decided it was time to see Dr. Woo. Dr. Woo and her staff were fantastic in how they worked with me. I don't think I have ever had a more complete exam. During the exam I was able to try lenses to see how they felt and was thrilled when none of the pain associated to the old hard contact lenses occurred. Less than two weeks later the lenses came in and I had my fitting. My vision was between 20/25 and 20/30 and Dr. Wong said that it would probably get better as my eyes and brain adjusted to not looking through glasses. When I walked outside that day, I couldn't control my emotion. It was like a new world had opened up and I was very upset with myself for waiting so long to make this change. Driving home was a joy of being able to read the highway signs. I did have some issues getting them in and out but overall, it wasn't that bad. A week later I had another follow up meeting and explained to Dr. Wong that the right lense would fog up after wearing them for a few hours. She determined that the fit was not quite perfect and during the vision test found some slight changes to the prescription to make. She has now ordered a second set which I cannot wait to try. She also is allowing me to test a lighted stand to hold the lense for insertion which makes it so easy to get them in. All I can say is that Dr. Woo and Dr. Wong have changed my life and I am grateful for Dr. Mallinger recommending them. To anyone who is hesitant I would tell you don't wait. Your vision is too important to waste a day not being able to see. THANK YOU, Dr. Woo and Dr. Wong for making every day clearer and brighter for me.

I have been a client at the Contact Lens Institute of Nevada (CLIN) for almost a year now. All I can say is “Wow.” I truly appreciate what they have done for my vision. Before going to CLIN, I have gone to regular contact lens places, and they would say, “Sorry, we don't think we can help you.” But at CLIN, they examined my eyes, did a lot of testing, and it turned out that I have Kerapconus in both eyes. They fitted me with specialty contact lenses, and I was amazed, and still amazed! Everything is so clear. Wow! The Contact Lens Institute of Nevada (CLIN) has met and exceeded my expectations. As a person with Keratoconus, I am very wary about who I take on as an optical care provider. However, the level of professionalism and the quality of care provided by CLIN is simply unmatched.

When I arrived at the facility, CLIN's reception staff was incredibly professional. They made sure I was comfortably seated before explaining the process for a lens consultation. After a short wait, I was seen by Dr. Woo herself.

The consultation was extremely quick and efficient. The facility utilizes several advanced pieces of equipment to provide the best treatment possible for your eyes. Dr. Woo thoroughly explains the purpose of each scan, and reviews the results in depth. She also answers any questions and concerns you may have about your treatment options.

Words cannot begin to express the feeling of being fitted with lenses. I was able to see clearly at a distance and with such fine detail. There were also zero to minimal discomforts while wearing the lenses. I am excited about my follow-up appointment. Thank you! 5/5 Stars

I've had keratoconus in both eyes for several years and recently learned I'll need surgery in my left eye. This was intimidating for me since my right eye is the weaker one and it would be my primary eye to rely on while recovering from surgery. I was recommended to see Dr. Woo and I'm so glad I followed through on the recommendation!

In the past, I've tried scleral lenses on without promising results. My last optometrist told me I'm one of the few candidates that won't benefit from scleral lenses. To have that told to you is absolutely devastating especially when you've had blurry vision for a long time and want to see just like everyone else. I wanted to get a second opinion.

Dr. Woo gave me hope again. When I came into her office, I was instantly welcomed and made right at home. She and her co-worker Britt treated me like a close friend.

I was nervous about trying on lenses. I have had a lot of trouble with having anything put in my eye. In the past, I had a nurse once threaten to knock me out when my eyes were first dilated and an optometrist was also flustered with me. It took forty minutes for the optometrist to get the lenses in my eyes and this was embarrassing for me. My poor wife has spent hours trying to help me put in scleral lenses. Dr. Woo was able to put the lenses in under thirty seconds. That says a lot about Dr. Woo's skills as I know I'm not easy and I've been trying to work on my sensitive eyes for awhile. I was even more shocked when it was found that with the lenses I had near perfect vision in my right eye. I cannot tell you how empowering that was for me. To be told one day you will never have good vision and the next being told you will have near perfect with the right resources is one of the happiest experiences of my life.

Dr. Woo is well-versed in keratoconus and knows what she's talking about. Dr. Woo is professional, patient, and truly cares about her patients. I highly recommend her and hope she stays here in Vegas for awhile. There are so many people that could benefit from her services!

Incredibly clean and professional. It is a totally different experience than I’ve had with any other eye doctor. I normally reserve the discomfort most people feel going to the dentist, for the eye doctor. In this case, I didn’t feel rushed and I felt like Dr. Woo was really listening.
