I want to share my story , I’ve needed a knee replacement for 15 years but never found the right doctor to do it that I felt comfortable with until I met Dr Karen Nelson at UMC Orthopedic. What I want to say is not enough but here it goes , Dr Nelson is amazing doctor and person, great bedside manner very knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to help me , I knew then it was time so I took the surgery plunge and it was the best thing I ever did concerning my knee!!to say the least she did an awesome job and I’ll be forever grateful! 3 weeks post op and I’m walking and standing like I couldn’t do before! Can’t wait to finish therapy and get on with my life. Thank you Dr Nelson you did a wonderful job!

Dr. Nelson is professional, compassionate and cares greatly for her patients. I'm very fortunate that she was my surgeon and was able to operate successfully on my broken, and I'm very grateful to have been her patient.

I first met with Dr. Nelson on April 25th, just hours after a very serious motorcycle accident in Summerlin that left me with a broken right arm, along with other damage.

She made sure I was her first surgery of the day the next day at UMC Trauma. The entire operation was so swift and efficient. She did an amazing job operating on and repairing my arm, and as I write this in the waiting room of Southwest Medical for what will hopefully be my final appointment, I just want to thank her, her medical assistant MJ and her entire team at Southwest Medical for the utmost care and attention they put into ensuring I had a smooth recovery as I prepare to return to work.
