I had a good visit at Desert Orthopaedic. After the tech took my BP and asked a few questions. My time in the exam room was a little lengthy waiting for Alana but shortly after she and I finished up, Dr. Hancock came in pretty quickly. I enjoyed meeting him. Very firm handshake. He seemed like a good person and a very thorough doctor. I appreciated that.

I’ve been going there for over two years for knee issues and now my rotator cuff plus I have severe cervical spinal stenosis. I’ve dealt with the orthopedic doctor, Dr. Hancock he’s a kind, compassionate man. He listens and doesn’t interrupt. He takes his time with you and he has an excellent Staff working around him. I’m sure there’s a lot of great doctors there. Every element of the visit was efficient and professional. The staff was courteous and helpful. The PA Karla was excellent and explained my condition and treatment plan in easy to understand terms. Dr. Hancock was wonderful. He provided an overview of my injury and provided clear options for healing. I am afraid of needles and he was so gentle with me, that I was hardly phased by the needle. He was quick and through. I have a greater range of motion and little pain in only one day.

First, before I talk about Dr. Hancock I want to talk about the staff. Everyone that I encountered was professional and friendly. I'm a Floridian so to feel that Southern hospitality in Las Vegas makes me really happy. Dr. Hancock also exudes that same energy. He came in and explained everything to me and he made me feel that my upcoming operation is important to him. I've never had surgery and my knee procedure isn't until mid-January but I feel really comfortable. I think I want to have him take a look at my hip as well. I feel safe and I feel like he will get the job done properly no matter my concerns.

Clinic location is modern and pleasant, front office staff created me upon arrival and was seen on time initially by an MA who was efficient and helpful. X-rays happened quickly and was next seen by a PA who did a physical assessment before seeing Dr. Hancock who was thorough and kind. He explained his strategy on treatment options and I felt well cared for. This all occurred in the span of about 30 minutes. Impressive!

If I could leave less than one star review, I would. I went in to see Dr. Hancock as a referral from my DPT and was curious about learning more about stem injections for my knee. I walked in with prior imaging, hoping that at minimum, the doctor will be able to review my prior MRI before requesting new imaging. Unfortunately, his PA told me that looking at those images and reading the report would not be sufficient for dr. Hancock and I would have to pay for new imaging before I even had a chance to talk to the doctor about my treatment options. Call me crazy but isnt the point of a consult to learn more about options? I am all for getting imaging but they didn’t even want to look at my images or even read the Dx report. It was a complete waste of time and I left my appointment without ever seeing the doctor. Thankfully, I have an ortho pod in another city that I can see for possible treatment. As someone in the medical community I would seek treatment elsewhere.

This was my first time going to DO and I left feeling impressed. The facility was very pleasant, clean, quiet/calming, modern. All of the staff I interacted with were very professional, polite, and efficient. My appointment was on time and moved along very efficiently and I never had to wait for anything the entire time I felt listened to by the assistant and doctor Hancock and we set up the next plan of treatment efficiently and now I’m hoping for the best!

I had an appointment at 1:10 PM and I was taken in by 1:15PM. That’s a great efficiency to start with. And the Dr’s assistant came and took the essential information and very shortly after that Dr Hancock showed up. He was very gentle, compassionate about my pain and immediately ordered the X-ray. X-Ray tech sounded like highly experienced. She was very courteous. And I met Dr Hancock and he explained very slowly so that I can understand my problems. I have a general fear of Doctors but from the moment I walked into the office I started to breathe a little easier. When I was called into Dr Hancock's office on time perhaps even ahead of schedule, I was met with a smile that again started to put me at ease. The young women listened intently to my long story/history. She saw I needed a new set of xrays. I then met with Carla Dr Hancock's PA, she again listened and I felt heard. I got a full examination of my knee. It was thourgh. I saw my new xrays and it was immediately obvious what my problem was, bone on bone on the lateral section of my knee. Apparently the Dr I went to before did not do due diligence in taking the xrays.The pain I was in could have been avoided but then I may not have met Dr Hancock and his team.

We discussed the options together and I was made to feel comfortable with the course of action we decided on.
I never felt rushed and any and all questions were answered.
It's no fun having arthritis but I feel comfortable in the care I'm getting.

I highly recommend Desert Orthopedic, Dr Hancock and his team. You will be heard and well taken care of.

Check in was fast. I was not new to them but was new to this office and provider. MA nice enough but seemed focused on getting through my symptom questions. Seemed rushed. May didn’t follow through with email to send my form for doctor… but the front office staff took care of me at the end. It was fine ultimately but rushed feels rushed. I had an X-ray and she was very nice and chipper for being early morning on a Monday!! Dr Hancock was thorough and to the point and answered my questions. He is a sports medicine trained provider and because I’m still in the military he understood the want and need to stay healthy for my longevity. Rx went to pharmacy immediately and PT order in hand before going to checkout. Check out was clunky but the girls up front got my records request, payment and the email so I could send my forms in on the spot. They worked it out!! I appreciated the effort in taking care of everything right there!! I will go in to pick up my records and for and all will be done!! I would definitely recommend and this was the Summerlin office for me!! Thank you all!
