I’ve been going to this dentist for a little bit and they’ve never been my favorite but what happened in the last few weeks sealed the deal for me. I got a routine cleaning done and the hygienist was the most rough hygienist I’ve ever had, and it was the most painful dental cleaning I’ve ever had. I floss and take care of my teeth and got a great review from my dentist just 6 months prior. I have NEVER had a dental cleaning so uncomfortable in my life. Fast forward two days later I start to feel a pain in the back of my mouth near where my wisdom teeth would come through. I try to look back and see and can’t really get a good look. I schedule an exam with this dentist to get it checked out because I am concerned my wisdom teeth are coming through and that’s what’s causing my pain. The dentist “examines” me and gives me a referral to the oral surgeon to get them removed. I go to the oral surgeon the same week and the oral surgeon informs me that my wisdom teeth have NOT erupted and there was a giant piece of plaque that was lodged into my gum that caused the inflammation/pain. I’m assuming from the extremely rough cleaning I got because the pain started within a day or two of that cleaning. Why would the dentist not recognize this? Why was I not informed that nothing had erupted? $200 later and my wisdom teeth are not removed but I’ll never be going back to this dentist again. And all the other reviews regarding the dentists’ insensitivity, I had a cavity filled a couple years ago here as well and when I said I needed more numbing and could feel what he was doing, he scoffed and said “I doubt it”. If you hate your job, consider a different one. It’s appalling the experience I and others have had here.

I have had a great fear of dentists for 30 years due to horrifying experiences. This is by far not the case with Dr Matteucci and his staff.. They are so incredible, kind and compassionate. It has been the least painful experience at any dentist I have ever been to!

Dr. Matteucci and his staff are phenomenal!! I have immense anxiety with dental work after: TWO, not one, rounds of braces, teeth pulls, permanent retainers, implants, and more, and Dr. Matteucci was beyond accommodating and kind.

He, and his staff, made sure I understood what was happening, when I needed to be concerned, etc. On top of that, they took time to ask me about myself, my interests, and work instead of pushing me in and out like a customer at a drive thru.

It’s so nice to find a dentist that I know I can trust after so much bad luck and experiences through my life. 10/10 recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist!

PLEASE READ Regretfully took my children and personally went to this dentist for almost 6 years . We stopped going because 2 weeks after a check up and cleaning an orthodontist told me before braces we needed to get " all these cavities" taken care of . Of course, I was shocked because according to Dr Matteucci the 2 children had none. This person saw cavities just with their naked eye. Come to find out after a second and third opinion, there were collectively over 20 cavities between the two of them which were undiagnosed. My son (8) had such severe decay at the time that it was necessary for him to have teeth removed . He had to be sedated because the dental work and trauma was so severe . As for my daughter who got the worst of it, she needed to have one root canal and another pending . After 28 dental visits in a matter of months, we had to get her root Canal... at age 12 . A 12 year old with one root canal, a second pending . Fast forward another year, that infection from the tooth that went undiagnosed has eaten through to her sinuses and as in any tooth infection she is at risk for possible sepsis. Somehow, the root canal failed and we have an even bigger problem now . The endodontist informed me that the tooth will likely have to be removed in order to get the bacteria out at this point , and that she can't get an implant until she's in her 20's and growth is complete . She will also need a bone graft. So financially this will stand to cost me in the end about $10,000, but that's nothing compared to the trauma my children have endured and the time spent running to dentist after dentist and appointment after appointment to try to fix the mess Dr Matteucci created . The trauma that could be endured to a teenager with a missing tooth during her high school and formative years concerns me , as kids can be so cruel to other children . I filed complaints for both of my children with the NV dental board and it was determined Dr Matteucci provided below standard of care and they took disciplinary action of continuing education for him. No monetary value was reimbursed for the root canal(s) and dr matteucci has never once acknowledged his wrong doing to two innocent children who have been traumatized and permanently affected by his negligence and inability to identify a cavity. I have read other reviews from other patients that have had a similar experience, however none involved children or went as far as root canals (to my knowledge) , but there seems to be a pattern that we are not the only ones to be having that experience. I wish we had never gone here, it has caused years of hardship , stress, tears, trauma and this nightmare is still not over !

To light after receiving negligent care from dr Matteucci (per the dental boards investigation and conclusion that this is a direct result of his gross negligence). My daughter (15) is yet again dealing with another infection years after Dr Matteucci failed to diagnose a simple cavity. She’s 15 and has to have 1-3 teeth removed after ensuring multiple root canals as a direct result of his incompetence . All paid out of pocket will end up costing us near $20,000 to
Fix .. please do yourself a favor and never go here! He should be held accountable in a court of law for negligence but all they gave him was continuing education . Reprehensible .

Staff is great. I think the dentist who saw me was Dr. Thomas Matteucci, Mathew’s father. He seemed a lot older than Mathew in the photo on their website ha. Either way, I was surprised to have the actual dentist come in first check my teeth AND CLEAN them. Usually you never see the dentist until after your cleaning. He also efficiently fixed the chip on my front tooth, it looks brand new!! What a nice guy!! Their state of the art equipment is excellent. It was very comforting to meet Dr. Matteucci upfront, have him clean my teeth for the first time & know I’m in good hands. Very personable, professional & efficient!! Hard to find in this town. Plus he’s Italian so I’m a little bias but like we say back East, “Italians do it best” 😉

I’ve written maybe 3 reviews in my whole life. This dental office is phenomenal! The entire staff was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. The doctor communicated with me during my entire procedure and his assistant was amazing! They worked so well together. I had to get a couple of shots and I hardly felt them at all. I was the most nervous for that part and was so excited when it wasn’t even an uncomfortable pinch. I’m staying with Dr. Matteucci’s office for any dental work I’ll have in the future for myself and my family. 10/10 highly recommend!

I enjoy my experiences at Matteucci Family Dental, Dr. Matt is a very good dentist with a big heart for his patients. When he sees his patients when they come in for their visits he is very thorough with his findings, he goes the extra mile when it comes to showing patients what he finds through x rays and explains the diagnosis and the treatment, so then his patients are more at ease and have an understanding of what to expect when they come to see him.

I myself am a patient of Dr. Matt's as well as his assistant and I have gotten to experience both sides professionally and being a patient. I remember my first exam with Dr. Matt and I appreciated the fact that he took the time to go over my x rays with me and explain to me what was going on and what treatment needed to be done. He does really good work as well, he has definitely changed my confidence in my smile for the better 💯 and I couldn't thank him enough for that. Through my experience of being his patient he is also very gentle and supportive through the procedures with all of his patients, always making sure his patients are comfortable through the procedures.

Dr. Matt is also a great teacher, I have learned so much from him, I came into his office almost year ago, right out of school and I am thankful he gave me the chance to be a part of his team and practice, he took the time to work with me and teach me all I needed to know and what it took to be his dental assistant and I just have to thank him for that, especially for how passionate I was and am for wanting to be a dental assistant.

I couldn't ask for a better dentist all around and the office is a great environment, filled with kindness, compassion, understanding, and good people who really care for their patients and staff. Professionalism with a family Doctor atmosphere.

I've been bouncing around different Las Vegas Dental offices for the past 20 years until I started using the Matteucci Family Dental team. Dr. Matthew Matteucci is by far the best dentist I've used in the Las Vegas area.

The staff is extremely helpful with filling out the forms, scheduling appointments, calling me with appointment reminders, explaining the billing, and re-scheduling appointments when something prevents me from making my appointment. It's truly a family office and they treat you like a VIP.

Dr. Matteucci is the first dentist to explain in detail my options, while making informed suggestions to guide me through dental corrections. I had a major accident about 15 years ago that caused a crack in my molar and Dr. Matteucci is the first dentist to permanently fix the issue and eliminate the constant discomfort.

I've had a lot of work done over the past few years with Dr. Matthew and each service was virtually pain free. My bite is finally in line and all the work is smooth and painless.

Give them a call and schedule an appointment. I'm guessing you'll be a patient for life after the first visit.

I have been a patient at Matteucci family dental for approximately five years now. I was nervous about getting a root canal and they made the process very comfortable and easy. The front office staff along with Dr. Matt Matteucci made me feel at ease and the process went along very smoothly. I've gone here twice and regret it. I will be switching to another dentist and filing a grievance. Dr. Matteucci is incredibly rude and deemed it appropriate to throw his dental equipment on the tray when I expressed pain. Then proceeded to act like a child when I apologized and explained that I am sensitive and responded with "No". Dont go here.

That speaks pretty highly of a dental office. I personally have had dental work by both dentists and procedures were explained thoroughly. I had really high hopes for this dental office. I have to say, at first I thought the condescending tones were because of the amount of cavaties my daughter had (admittedly, a shocking amount) and I accepted that, though I probably shouldn't have. A part of me thought it might be because I have state aid insurance (due to a recent move from out of state so while my job's benefits are waiting to be applied I have to take what I can get) but the thing I can not accept is the way the dentist spoke to my child. An eight year old, crying because the shot in her mouth hurt. "Try not to cry next time, since you know what to expect." She's eight years old. Cancelling all future appointments and finding another dental provider. I am beyond words. I can only imagine what was said when I wasn't in the room. As a professional, some self control would be expected.

Edit: Though I appreciate the response, and acknowledge the effort taken to show me and explain to me the condition of my child's care, the whole point is what was said to my child.

I had a very great experience, I had a crown fall off and they were able to squeeze me in to take care of it and put a temporary back on right away, when I went in I had an infection under that tooth and had them do a root canal that was painless, and decided to get my wisdom teeth out when I went back for the permanent crown to be put on, I was in and out fast with my permanent crown put on and wisdom teeth pulled, it was a very friendly and nice experience at the dentist.

This was the worst dr visit ever. My child which is 10 year old. She was taken to the back alone and given a shot also drilling with my knowledge of them starting the process. I was told she was going for xrays. The office was very rude as if I didn’t belong or if I’m oblivious to know what common courtesy is, guess because I’m black.. Smh I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome when I had questions about her procedure. I was very shocked when that the Dr. I mean dentist attitude was worst than the receptionist. I would NOT recommend this dr to any minorities......they think we all catch buses.

I am very pleased with this office, the staff is kind and very caring. I just had 2 wisdom tooth pulled out about 30 minutes ago. DDS Matteucci and his assistant were informed about my anxiety. They were constantly asking me how I was doing. I highly recommend this office. If you want a dentist and a staff that is caring and concern with your dental issues than this is the right place.
