Over the last decade, i’ve been going to Desert Orthopedics for whatever may be ailing me. In this recent case, it was my right knee. I’ve been working with Dr. Fouse and he recently did knee surgery. The procedure and recovery went smoothly. This place is great. The physical therapy is great. Every doctor that I have met over the years has been great. Yes. It’s just that great!

He was just awesome. I had this pain and my shoulder for 2 1/2 years. I have been to various physicians. He did a thorough physical exam and diagnosed me with bursitis and their one injection and my pain has gone away. Because of my diabetes and kidney function, I could not take anti-inflammatories. It was just an awesome experience for a Fine physician.
For many physicians taken a thorough history and physical exam is a Lost Art. In my opinion, it is more important than any test you can order at any surgery that you can do.
He is just awesome and I recommend him without reservation

I was able to get an appointment in just a few days which surprised me as it normally takes a lot longer to see a specialist. appeared to be a bit closed minded - meaning, it appeared he already knew what he wanted to say without a detailed examination ( which was quite superficial, in comparison with other ones i've had on the same issue).
quite opinionated, like he is the only one who knows what is "going to happen" and talks over you sometimes, like he doesn't have to patience to collect all the details you have to say.

would not recommend him, if you have a more complex issue.

Had my appointment scheduled for 8:50 AM. I didn’t get to see him (Dr.Fouse) until past 10 o’clock. He mentioned that he was with another patient that required more than an hour. I understand that everyone has their questions and concerns and he did mention to me that he will be with me as long as I need him. Unfortunately, it only took him 5 to 10 minutes to tell me let’s do physical therapy for now and see how everything is. Every time I had a question he would interrupt me and answer right away. So much for taking his time with me and being there as long as I need him.

I took a fall last weekend suffering a sprain in my right calf. I called Desert Orthopedics on Tuesday and got an appointment for the next day with Dr. Fouse.

Came in on Wednesday and breezed through the new patient forms on the tablet they provided.

Was 1st seen by a nurse who asked about my injury and set me up for x-rays (just down the hall). The RT was great and I was back in the exam room in 15 minutes.

Dr. Fouse came in, introduced himself as “Matt” and proceeded with the exam of my injury. He asked lots of questions and was very informative. Best thing was he wasn’t going to pad the bill with meds, MRI’s and PT that I didin’t need. Gave some tips on using my cane the right way. And then we were done. I don’t look forward to my next injury but I will look fwd to getting reacquainted with Dr. Matt Fouse.

Came to see Dr. Fouse for my elbow on a recent skateboard accident. Went to my appointment early however they didn’t take me in till about 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment which was at 10:00. Waited for about an hour more in a room just to see Dr. Fouse to tell me that I got to have an MRI. He left so quickly that luckily I asked him if I should wear the splint still, he gave me an answer and then left the room. I have so much more questions to ask a doctor but he left so quickly.

The staff was amazing. They have paperwork setup online so you don’t have to arrive a hour early. The reception and paperwork staff are professional and quick. The nurses help with getting you everything ready before the doctor sees you. Dr Fouse diagnosed my problem and gave me a cortisone shot which I thought would be painful but he handled it so well it was over before I knew it. Getting bandaid off later was more painful. The Dr has no empathy for patients. He would not give me any type of pain killer for my severe arthritis pain. I called the office later in the day to ask if he would prescribe me a prescription strength topical pain killer and he sent a prescription to my pharmacy for otc Voltaren which I already have used and does not help.

My first appt... I held out for an appt first thing in the morning as I know the Ortho/Dr offices can get behind on schedules as the day progresses. My appt was at 8:30am. I completed all paperwork, which is quite extensive, prior to my appt as requested and arrived 5 minutes before my appt time. At 9:35am, I was still waiting in the waiting room. When I inquired, I was advised that they didn’t know how long my wait would be. I left. #1 My time is also valuable and I do not have hours to sit in a waiting room waiting for a doctor when my appt is first thing in the morning. #2 Out of respect for your patients (without them you would not have a practice!) the office should inform arriving patients that the Dr is behind, or not there, or running late - and provide an option to reschedule if needed...instead of making them sit and wait unknowingly. I understand doctor’s running late due to spending time with their patients, but we should be made aware of such as to allow us, the patients, to evaluate whether or not we can sit for hours waiting.
