I was referred to Desert Orthopaedic Center. It was so easy to make an appointment. Dr. Fouse was amazing. At my first visit, he came up with a preliminary diagnosis. He was direct but also a passionate doctor. He likes to hear the patients concern and give them choices of treatment. The office ordered an MRI and had it approved in one day. Dr Fouse is truly incredible. Extreme shoulder pain with very limited motion. After X-ray he told me what was wrong, treated it and what to expect moving forward. Pain went from 10/10 to a 2/10 within the first minute of treatment. Still limited motion but with the instructions he gave I'm able to move it more than I was before seeing him. Dr. Fouse is, hands down, the best. He did a rotator cuff cleanup on my right shoulder in 2009. Since then I've seen him for a displaced knee cap and now torn muscles at the rotator cuff. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the staff. After giving my name, they asked for my ID and insurance card. I arrived earlier than my scheduled appointment, but the wait was still short before I was taken back to examination room number 20. I am not sure why that detail stuck with me.

In the exam room, a medical assistant went over my information. An older gentleman with an accent then asked questions about the issues I have been experiencing with my left knee and performed an initial assessment. He determined that X-rays were needed.

Joshlyn, the X-ray technician, took several images of my knee. After the X rays were completed, I was brought back to examination room number 20.

The wait to see Dr. Fouse was not long. When he came in, he briefly took a phone call related to another patient, but it did not feel rushed or distracting. He then reviewed the X-rays with me and explained that nothing was broken or torn. He advised me to increase my activity level and recommended specific exercises to help manage my arthritic knee.

Overall, the appointment was informative and all of my questions were answered. I felt listened to and well taken care of.

In just a few minutes, Dr Fouse diagnosed my left knee pain as arthritis. I had a really minor twisting fall 3 months ago & started having pain. He listened to my symptoms, touched the exact places on my knee that had pain, gave me a shot & I was on my way. Knee feels fine & no longer afraid I tore something.

Ummm… a mixed review. Dr Fouse was in a hurry, didn’t even try to hide it. I’m old and he let me know that he’s a sports injury guy, not an orthopedic guy. Well I spent decades being a sports INJURED patient, that’s why I need orthopedic work now. He couldn’t get me out of there fast enough. I have been treated by doctors whose clientele were the Chicago Bears and Chicago Blackhawks… they certainly never made me feel like I was wasting their time.
When I had his attention he was excellent, too bad I’m not an elite athlete.
I had to jump through insurance, referral, and scheduling hoops to find a practice that could give me the shot I needed. He told me he doesn’t do gel injections, that I should have been seeing one of his associates. I’m a dog chasing its tail.

After searching for a physician that accepts my insurance, I found desert orthopedic. I was very lucky to get a same day appointment. Other places I called were 2 months waiting period. Everything from the call to make an appointment to final checkout was astonishingly perfect. Every staff member I dealt with was respectful and kind. However from start to finish they have their ish on point. I was checked in & seated & taken back in a very timely manner.

I arrived 1/2 hour early and the intake was fine and the person who checked me in was very polite and sweet. I was late getting called back and then the person who took me to the back, the medical assistant, was abrupt to the point of rudeness. I would like to know why she is doing her job because I don’t think she likes her patients. I was then taken to x-ray and the guy was great. Then put back in my room and I could hear the doctor next-door with a case that was difficult. He was very late getting in to see me which is OK. However then I felt he was very rushed and trying to catch up on time and not very personable. Considering it was my first visit and I was looking for somebody to operate on me I thought he might want to establish rapport. Then he told me to wait and someone else would come in and check me out. I waited over 40 minutes in a little room with a closed door and nobody ever came. I finally went out in the hallway found the doctor and told him I was still waiting. He was very upset! He asked me to go back in my room and he would get somebody immediately. Then he came in my room and apologized profusely. Very nice gesture. Finally the lady came in (same rushed, abrupt MA) and checked me out. I’m not feeling great about having this organization operate on me. I will wait till I get my MRI and go back for a second visit to make sure it wasn’t just a really bad day for everybody.

I found Dr Fouse to be excellent in his explanation of my injury, options for treatment, and in answering all of my questions. I have not decided yet if I will have surgery but if I do I feel comfortable in him doing the procedure. I felt he was honest and did not try to push any procedure that wasn't necessary. The only complaint I have is with the office staff trying to pressure me to get an xray when I already had an MRI done. Maybe they were just doing their job but the sarcastic comments and insistence was unprofessional. I did not see what reason I would need xrays if MRI had already been performed.

Dr Fouse Has been treating me since 2016 he even repaired my ACL on my left knee. Dr. Fouse has got to be one of the best shoulder surgury orthopidest in the country.
He nailed the pre surgury diagnostics before the surgury, and went in and did a muraculas job. on the repair. I'm still in early recovery but I have confidence from the post op pictures, appointment, and my progress, that he perfectly repaid the rotator cuff among other issues he found within the shoulder.
Also I haven't had to wait any longer that 10 min in the waiting room or no longer that 10 min in the patient room for all my appointments.

Talk about a knife-happy, money-grubbing surgeon! Even before he met me, he decided I needed surgery for a torn meniscus. He based this just on looking at the intake physician's assistant notes made a few minutes earlier and from the X-rays.

He waltzes into the room I was waiting in with this plan of action, while I knew that my symptoms were not that of a torn meniscus, and also that such surgery is very rarely effective. Once I told him that I didn't want that surgery, he became extremely belligerent that I should waste any more of his time, since it was looking like he wasn't going to be getting the big bucks out of me for this completely unnecessary surgery.

He wouldn't even let me talk, was constantly interrupting me, so bad that I actually had to say, "Look, could I possibly complete one sentence without you interrupting and ignoring what I'm trying to say?". He became thoroughly irate at this impertinence.

As it turned out, I tried the simple physical therapy solutions I found online, and they worked fine. It completely cleared up my symptoms and am now completely pain free. It just proves I was right and this horrible, wretched example of a greedy, assembly-line doctor who doesn't listen to his patients, because he's so incurably arrogant and smug, was completely wrong. I just saved myself untold pain, expense, and possible long-lasting damage from this fool by standing up to his attempts to intimidate. WARNING --- AVOID THIS CLOWN!!

The office cancelled my appointment while I sat and waited 30 minute to be seen because the Dr was too busy. I will be contacting my lawyer and the nevada medical examiners board to have this Dr and Office penalized or suspended. STAY AWAY, if you can, I was assigned to doctor Fouse by my former employer's workers compensation insurance carrier. He "follows the rules" (means; I do what the insurance tells me) as he repeatedly told me in my last visit where he released me with full MMI after reading a second MRI of my knee that he says and interpret it shows an "intact" ACL where a first MRI done 7 months ago, less than a month after injury shows a complete tear. When questioned, Dr. Fouse states that "well the first MRI was with poor quality and was misread" but he agreed to treat me before based on that first MRI, and a second opinion of another Doctor also inside the insurer pocket but whom I am told is more honest and impartial with his interpretations and recommendations when it comes to patients, even I am not a patient of his. Dr. Fouse gave me only 2 months of PT, he recommended PT treatment before surgery; I was doing somehow ok strengthening the knee but have always had instability, after 2 months, he said "he can no longer justify to the insurance giving me more PT time" and that I needed to chose if I wanted to have surgery going forward or not, he then released me full duty when I was still complaining of issues and with a report from the PT which shows no significant improvement; the minute I was released full duty my work fired me saying they "eliminated my position" Dr. Fouse wanted me to have surgery before releasing me full duty and when I asked for more conservative treatment he said he could no do it because he could not justify it to the insurance and released me instead. With no job to do and still issues I went back to ask for the surgery then to fix my problems; Dr. Fouse agreed it was the best option given the case but then the insurance company intervened not approving the surgery and requesting another second opinion and more evaluations and a second MRI on my knee. When the second evaluation was done, the MRI reading shows an intact ACL that was not there at all in the first images! then I took the MRI's to have them both make an addendum from the second MRI considering the first; then the Radiologist wrote he can observe some "fibrosis on the ACL" in the second MRI the ACL does not shows black all consistent as it should but instead it shows grey in color which could indicate scar tissue from the rupture in place of the old ACL which was torn and have been untreated for all this time but Dr. Fouse already been told by the insurance will not pay for surgery so "there is nothing I can do for you" he keeps saying it over and over and offering me a lousy injection for my issues which will fix nothing. This Doctor will work on you as dictated by the insurance company which is why I say he is in their pocket and he is heartbroken I say it but this is the truth. STAY AWAY! this guy cares about the bottom line and not about your health or well being. I am not saying he is a bad Surgeon but his morals about practicing sucks big time! In contrast, his staff is very courteous and nice but ole Dr. Fouse is bought by the insurances and their crook practices unfortunately! -- My case is on going and although the insurance notified me they closing I started the real fight and appeals. There will be other opinions on the MRI's readings and I am trying to take another MRI on my own. I am doing for me what Dr. Fouse and the insurance crooks are denying me, which is taking care of myself! -- I will complain to the Nevada Medical Examiner Board about this issues when the time has come. I would love for Dr. Fouse to be right on the MRI reading but the issues on my knee and the whole direction and stinking management on my case through all its time tells me I am in the right and they are WRONG! all I need to do its prove it and I will! - Already there is an addendum showing there is a problem of fibrosis on the ACL area; that it is not normal not it is an "intact ACL" -- Bottom line, this Doctor will not do the best for your interest but the best for his. I was already forced to see him by insurer but if you can STAY AWAY!

It was my first visit to Desert Orhopedics. Pleasant and professional staff from check in to check out. All easy going and in good humor the whole time. Especially pleased with Dr Fouse and his son. Very easy going. Had X-rays, and Dr Fouse assured me that all was well with my shoulder. Maybe some arthritus. Fixed me up with a shot of some sort and sent me on my way. No pain today after about 3 weeks of off-and-on soreness. My home remedies never worked. Very happy today. Thanks for making my day yesterday a good one, you all!

Went to see MD Fouse yesterday due to right knee pain. I brought in a copy of my MRI and did xrays on site.
MD Fouse was very thorough and explained by showing me what he seen.
We settled on an injection in my knee and a brace for now.
He is professional and non-judgemental, the office staff was a absolutely wonderful!
