In December12,2025. I had sudden hearing loss in my left ear. Dr Bailey gave me a referral to the Nevada Ear & Sin. Institute. I waited 5 months for an appointment. Before my appointment I was afraid that ME being 79 would disqualify Me for an implant. I saw Dr Kung. After seeing him I’m totally confused as to why Dr Bailey sent me to the institute. Dr Kung was no help. He offered me no hope of ever hearing better. I had to ask him about an implant. He said that an implant costs about 50 Grand and Medicare wouldn’t pay for any of it. Of course, these were 2 lies he told us. Then he saw the prescription that Dr Bailey wrote for me. That changed Dr. Kung mind and gave me a referral to Dessert Valley Audiology. I waited 5 months to see DR. Kung; 5 months that I will never get back. Not only that we drive 150 round trip to basically hear from Dr. Kung “it Suck To Be
You”. I’m a Singer I hate hearing out of 1 ear. I will take advantage of the referral. YAY! NOT!
NOW, I have more waiting to do.

It's very unfortunate 1 star is the lowest I can rate this doctor as I would surely go to a negative number if I could!

I had used Dr. Palacios for a number of years for earwax removal every few months so when my husband's balance was suddenly impaired, and we did not suspect a stroke, I took him to see Dr. Palacios. This was in August of 2025.

My husband had many symptoms, including debilitating fatigue, disequilibrium, spasms going from the stomach into the head, headaches, blurred vision, brain fog and 24/7 ear ringing. Dr. Palacios diagnosed him with Labyrinthitis, a viral infection of the inner ear, and told him it would have to run its course and there's nothing he could do for it. He did send him for an MRI to rule out a brain mass or anything related.

The MRI was absolutely fine and we went back in three weeks, hoping that Dr. Palacios could possibly do something to alleviate the debilitating symptoms my husband was having. But again, Palacios told us there was absolutely nothing he could do and it has to run its course.

For the next few months my husband continued to go to work, feeling absolutely miserable and fighting every minute of every day to walk straight! He went back to Palacios in January to show him he was not getting any better and asked again for his help. But again, Palacios said there was NOTHING he could do, it has to run its course, and like two idiots, we accepted his word.

By the end of February my husband was hospitalized. He had many tests to make sure nothing else was going on like a stroke, brain issue, heart issue, etc., etc., etc., and the final diagnosis was Vestibular Neuritis which is similar to Labyrinthitis. The doctors in the hospital were absolutely INCREDULOUS at the neglect my husband received from Palacios! They started him on a 6 day course of prednisone which IMMEDIATELY took away some of the inflammation and he no longer suffered headaches or the spasms from his stomach to his head! They also instructed him to immediately start vestibular therapy which is a therapy specifically for inner ear issues and is available at certain physical therapy facilities where the therapists are property trained in it.

He has been going twice a week for the vestibular therapy since the end of March and doing at home exercises three times a day and it's made a significant difference for him. He still has a long road ahead but at least he can walk straight, his eye sight is much better and his fatigue is slowly but surely improving. Had Palacios addressed this in August when we first went to him, my husband might be almost back to normal at this point!

Palacios totally and completely failed my husband. He should not call himself a doctor as he did nothing and let my husband suffer for months until he was so ill he had to be hospitalized! Shame on him! I hope this review deters at least one person from making the same mistake we made by trusting him. If you want good medical care, go to someone else.

I saw Nurse Practitioner Dawn for throat issues initially which turned into tinnitus, ear fullness, sound sensitivity, and hearing loss confirmed on testing. Very early on, she raised concern about a possible brain tumor, which caused me a significant amount of anxiety and stress while waiting for the MRI.

After the MRI came back negative, I felt completely dismissed despite continuing symptoms including ear pain, fullness/clogging, vibration/fluttering sensations, and sound sensitivity that were affecting my daily life. Very little additional investigation or explanation was offered, and I was simply told to use Allegra-D and nasal spray despite not having allergy symptoms. These treatments did not help.

What upset me most was the drastic change in attitude after the MRI was clear. I understand serious conditions need to be ruled out, but I did not feel heard, supported, or taken seriously afterward. Completely careless and guess what? MY EAR IS STILL MESSED UP A YEAR LATER!!!!!!!!!!!

My dad goes to request an appointment, we ask if they take my insurance they say yes, they schedule my appointment for 6 weeks later as it is the earliest appointment they have available. Guess what 6 weeks pass and we get there, and they tell us they don’t take our insurance. Making him waste his time instead of finding another place that takes his insurance. I came in to consult about Eustachian tube dilation because I’ve been dealing with persistent ear fullness, itchiness, crackling sounds, and dizziness when I wake up if I sleep too flat.

I waited over an hour to be seen. When Dr. Kung came in, the appointment felt extremely rushed. While I was trying to explain my history of dizziness, vertigo, rhinitis, and Eustachian tube symptoms, he kept interrupting and moving on before I could finish explaining. I was literally talking a mile a minute just to try to explain. It was so stressful.

At one point he started asking questions that made it sound like he thought something neurological might be going on (which made me worry about things like a brain tumor, but he wouldn’t explain why he was asking them til the very end when he figured I was having painless migraines). That triggered a huge panic attack. I had already told him that I have PTSD, autism, and severe medical phobia, so it was really difficult when he became impatient while I was trying to calm down enough to hold still during the ear exam.

Literally one of the worst things you can do when someone is having a panic attack is act like you are annoyed by them and pressure them. This behavior from doctors is exactly WHY I have medical phobia in the first place. Believe me, panicking is not something we do on purpose. Being autistic is not something we do on purpose. PTSD is not on purpose. And vertigo is often comorbid with anxiety.

He did a scope through my nose and said he didn’t see anything wrong with my nose, Eustachian tubes, or eardrums, and my hearing test was normal. I was told the symptoms are likely “sensitive nerves” from fibromyalgia just making my brain think I’m having these physical symptoms. The recommendation I received was to follow a migraine diet and not take ibuprofen or Tylenol more than once per week. (Um, I have chronic pain and severe cramps…yeah, no.)

What was frustrating is that I never got the chance to fully explain my medical history. I’ve had BPPV 13 times and completed neuro PT for chronic subjective dizziness, recovering for a long time.

The dizziness I’m experiencing now behaves very differently from BPPV. Vitamin D3 has kept the BPPV away for years. This current issue feels more like being tipped to one side when I wake up, rather than “I’m tumbling upside-down in a dryer” triggered by head movements that happens with BPPV. BPPV doesn’t cause fullness, clicking, popping, tinnitus, crackling and itching.

There are also clear physical triggers that don’t feel like “nerve sensitivity.” For example, saline spray (I have to use it before I use my Allermi rhinitis spray) sometimes gets into my Eustachian tubes and leaves my ear feeling full for days. If I sleep too flat, I wake up dizzy and have to hold onto the bed rail while moving my jaw and tugging my earlobe to get fluid to drain before I can stand up.

I also deal with severe rhinitis no allergist has fixed, and the only reason my nose looked open during the exam instead of totally swollen up shut in there was because I had used steroid and antihistamine nasal sprays beforehand.

Dr. Kung mentioned he was needed for an emergency at the hospital, which may explain why the visit felt rushed. However, if that was the situation, I would have preferred to reschedule the appointment rather than feel hurried through something that has been affecting me for years. (He did ask if I wanted to reschedule due to my panic attack, but my husband already paid a $55 copay and had to schedule time off work to take me...it would have been different if he wasn't asking to reschedule solely because he found me to be difficult and it was free of a second copay.)

A friend had recommended Dr. Kung and described him as very “chill,” so I may have just caught him on an off day. Maybe he just didn't like me. But patients with complicated histories, anxiety, or conditions like autism and PTSD need doctors who are willing to listen carefully and take the time to understand their symptoms. Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience.

Don’t get me wrong love this Office. Dr. Carl is the best but leaving soon. It’s just I’ve been coming here for some years so when my insurance changed I then started having to pay $150 out-of-pocket which was fine even though the price for ear cleaning is high I still was paying that. But this last appt through me off because I received a call saying that when I came in, I needed to make sure I had $85 so I assumed the price changed or something. When I arrived and checked in I was told I needed to pay the $150 on top of $85. When I asked about the phone call I Received of course no one understood why I received a call saying to just bring in $85. They then explained it was a fee from 2022 👀 and that I would need to pay that and the $85. I asked why I was just being told about it and of course Once again, the lady at front checking me in did not know why. I Informed her I only had the $85 because I had received a call stating to make sure I had the 85 when I came in. She Proceeded to let me know she don’t know what happened on that call but that I would need to still pay the 150+ to 85 and informed her I only had the $85 and if she could please ask them since I’ve been a returning customer. Could they work with me until my surprise she was told no. It’s sad that dedication and being returning Customer has no leverage. These places are only about money and could care less what you’re going through. I couldn’t hear out my right ear due to wax buildup, which is why I always go to them and only trusted them, but it showed me that dedication and being and a returning Customer meant nothing to them. I left had to call around to come up with the money because my ear was really hurting and I couldn’t hear out of it. It’s sad this is what our healthcare is coming to nowadays. Had I went to the hospital? All they would’ve did was put stool softener in my ear, which is why I did not want to go that route. Healthcare really needs to change and not just be up for a money grab and really care about their patient and what they’re going through. Definitely plan to find me a place that cares about their customers patients and know how to work with them in tight situations times are hard for everyone and you want a place that cares about that not just about your money or insurance

For some reason they schedule people at 8:10 am when apparently they dont open until 8:30 am and instead of realizing they're mistake the receptionists just act like it's out of their hands because it wasn't their fault since they weren't the ones who scheduled me but rather it was Dr. Randy himself. They could at least do something to make sure that doesn't happen again instead of ignoring the situation. There's not reason for me to come on time to my appointment and be left waiting outside in the cold for several minutes before they bother to open the door for me knowing my appointment was set for 8:10 am. It doesn't make it any better when the employees including the nurse start being rude to me because of that altercation and then I had to listen to the receptionists gossiping to each other about how I was somehow being unreasonable about my appointment time being at 8:10 am. The cherry on top was when the nurse called in someone who checked in minutes after me for the same type of appointment I had and purposely prolonged my visit to the doctor's.

Side note: They also take a really long time to answer their voicemail and also take forever to actually set appointments with you after your visit with the first doctor on the left side building.

Well, waited for appointment for 5-6 weeks. Was 32 minutes late and they canceled my appointment: they have 20 minutes grace period. Had to reschedule and wait for another 4 weeks. Funny, how things are working: I have to wait patiently for 6 weeks and they can't wait for anyone for more then 20 minutes. It's not like they had no patience. I just made line smaller. Pretty sure, I would have to wait for 30-60 minutes anyway, even if I'll be on time.

Our particular doctor was wonderful. My son has been dealing with chronic ear infections for over 10 years. We’ve been to plenty of doctors and no one could help. This doctor came in saying that my son had a pocket of fluid behind his ears that has not been drain went in and did the tube drain the fluid in my son has felt Very good after that I definitely recommend

Highly recommend! My nurse practitioner was efficient and also got me tested for crystal misalignment quickly. She took the time to talk to me about my dizziness and what had been happening. She was thorough in her assessment and recommendations for MRI and physical therapy were followed up within a couple days by imaging and therapy group. Other medical groups in the past took months.
