Very efficient and professional office staff and environment ! I was received warmly and a thorough review and examination of my eyes was conducted which included measurements and scans. My pupils were dilated and examined by the ophthalmologist following a short recess.

My interactions with Dr. Reddy left me quite satisfied that I will have deliberate care for my eye health and when necessary, address the “mild cataracts” which inevitably require surgery ! I sincerely appreciated his thoughtful approach to me as a patient.

Summerlin’s New Eyes office gave me an app’t. just a day after I got my monthly call from a continuous care nurse. Dr. Austin checked me. He was nice, thorough & addressed my concerns. Very unprofessional. The staff doesn't even know you are there unless they need something, they don't talk, smile, greet you. Kind of like doing business with robots. Although the staff and doctor I saw were extremely polite, I am completely disappointed in the fact that I now have to be referred to another doctor in their group in the complete opposite end of town from where I live. I was lead to believe that the reason for my visit would’ve been taken care of on this day and not informed that it was just a consultation. No surgery is required to unclog my tear ducts and about the only thing the appt did was left me with dilated eyes and inability to do anything for about 6hr. I’m also upset in the fact that the office will probably want to charge me again for an office visit for a simple procedure that will take less than 30min. My suggestion to any new patient, confirm if your first visit is a consult or a procedure. Yes this may seem simple, but as I stated, I was lead to believe that my appt was for the actual procedure to be performed.

I was seen sooner than my scheduled appt. The tech is very nice, he was able to help me with the problem of my eyeglasses, he found out that both eyeglasses that were issued to me were both readers, instead of one for nearsighted and the other was for farsighted. I have had an annoying cataract for the last two years. I also have myopic degeneration on both eyes. My extreme nearsightedness - with eyes over 35 mm in length - make any simple surgery risky to the eyes. My retinologist did not recommend surgery. However, I decided to see Dr. Pizio for a consultation. After examining me, and looking at my case, she told me that she was pretty confident that she could do a cataract surgery on my good (and only eye). And so she did! The result was short of miraculous. She was able to calculate the lens implant so accurately, that now, for the first time in my life, I am able to see at least 20/25 without glasses, which is incredible for someone with myopic degeneration. I have never seen that well, ever. I managed to survive with one eye at 20/35 with contacts and the other eye at 20/200 for many years. The results are outstanding. I highly recommend her: She has thirty years of experience, excellent bedside manner, explains everything accurately and makes you feel at ease. Her staff is superb as well. The circumstances the led me to find this excellent surgeon were serendipitous. I thank the Good Lord for placing her in my path. I feel blessed. Thank you, Dr. Pizio!

I had an appointment for cataract consultation with Dr. Pizio. The initial exam, conducted by a technician, was quite extensive. After the exam I was escorted to a comfortable waiting room and given an iPad and headphones so I could view a video about cataracts and their removal. I was then takek into another exam room and spent over 20 minutes with Dr. Pizio. She explained my condition, reviewed my eye treatment history, made a suggestion regarding my options but still explained the pros and cons of all the option available to me. She answered all my questions. After that I met with an office assistant who provided me a breakdown of the costs associated with each of the options. She provided me with information regarding the surgery center they use as well. I will consider the options and return to the office to complete pre-surgery items including scheduling the surgery for my right eye. Overall a very positive and productive appointment. A++++

We have been working with New Eyes for over a year to heal a virus (similar to shingles) in my mom’s eye. She is partially deaf and already legally blind in her other eye, so this virus was devastating to her. The staff and doctors at New Eyes have been so much more than medical professionals. They have been mentors, cheerleaders, logistics magicians (when we couldn’t get the right medicine shipped from out of state,) advisors, therapists (through many tears,) and friends.

We especially enjoy visits when we get to work with Ashley. Her bedside manner is incredible. Consideration for my Mom’s hearing impairment and light sensitivity is carefully navigated with respect, while consistently maintaining her dignity.

We mostly work with Dr. Kauffman, who is excellent, but occasionally have had the need to see other doctors and have absolutely loved everyone we’ve had the privilege to meet. Each with new insight and always more encouragement.

I had an appointment with New Eyes/Summerlin to evaluate my eyes for cataracts. I was told the time would be at least 2 hours. My appointment was for 12:40 p.m. I was finally seen by a staff member about a 1/2 hour later. Then my eyes were checked on a variety of machines until my eyes were dilated. After that, I was directed to a waiting room with an iPad and headphones to view a short film on cataracts. Once I finished that more time had passed but then my staff member took me back into the room and said the Doctor would be in shortly. When I finally saw the Doctor, she apologized for her tardiness but then, after my 35 minute wait, she told me she had to do a "procedure". I asked how long it would take and she said just a few minutes. About 10 minutes later she finally showed up and went over my tests for that day.She explained that I had a particular kind of problem due to an astigmatism, but she had done those types of surgeries and usually everything worked out. The Dr said the procedures--one eye at a time--would take about 2 hours. I asked if she overbooked surgeries and she said no. I was left with a feeling of uncertainty because the Dr, although she said she had done numerous surgeries, I did not feel she would be the surgeon for me. By the time I finally left the office, it was just about 4:00 p.m. We arrived there at 12:20 p.m for a 12:40 appointment and I ended up spending 3-1/2 hours, most of them waiting, before I was told I could leave.

I had a Yag Capsulotomy procedure appointment at New Eyes Summerlin location on Tuesday, 06/03/25. Everything went well and smooth from checking in to checking out except for a minor misunderstanding regarding the location in which where I should go for the follow up appointment. That was ironed out the next day somehow. The staff at this location looked generally in great spirits and the facility, though not genuinely pristine in appearance, appeared to be decently clean and orderly. Loved Dr. Pizio!! I watched all her videos and read up on the cataract surgery which was recommended to me. We were seeking treatment that Medicare does cover; Medicare does not cover laser surgery for cataracts and does not necessarily deliver the best results. Do your research, but this will cost you the bare minimum of $4000.00. They also did not run our medicare properly and we had to pay the office visit of by surprise of $215.00, after my husband was already being seen. I did give them his insurance information a month in advance. This need not be a surprise. The staff was nice and the Doctor was adequate, but the latest and greatest laser surgery is not covered and is not necessary. Should be offering Medicare patients other options other than the most expensive options.

I have been a patient with New Eyes for several years, after my former Ophthalmologist, Dr. Carolyn Cruvant, closed her sole practice and joined the Sheppard Eye Center in Summerlin. My last appointment with her was probably the least satisfactory medical experience I have ever had -- not her fault, but the practice. I felt like a slab of beef on a conveyor belt shuffled from one person to another, and during my brief time with Dr. Cruvant, a young woman was timing her with a stopwatch. I was told 2 years back that I had cataract and I should have surgery. I was very scared anything with my eyes I freak out I was wearing progressive glasses for about 24 years because I needed the reading, distance and computer.
I finally went to New Eyes which was recommended to me by my optometrist and Saw Dr. Emily Schorr
I immediately like her she was so professional, nice and very kind to me with my paranoia.
She explained to me about the different lenses and did mention that not everyone adapts to mono lenses ( one eye is for reading and the other far) and wanted to know what happen if I could not adapt and she told me since the surgery was already done that it was a simple procedure to switch the lens.
I decided to do the mono lens and on October 17th 2021 I had the first surgery to my left eye to see far.
I was freaking out that day I wouldn’t let the anesthesiology apply the anesthesia before he tied my hands I was afraid that I would move the doctor hands while doing the surgery.
I could not believe that I woke up less than an hour and I felt nothing and within an hour I could see perfectly from that eye, the TV was so clear not even with my prescription glasses I could see so well.
Two weeks later on Nov 1st I had the surgery on the right eye with the mono lens for reading and went to the surgery not nervous at all and the same an hour later I could read tiny letters that I needed a magnifying glass before I could see everything perfectly I really got “new eyes” or the way I like to
refer to it is “ I got my eyes back”.
I was having trouble with glare and when I mention it to Dr. Schorr she said to wait two month and if I still had trouble they would do a procedure called Yag Laser which took less than a minute and now its perfect No more glare.
I would recommend New Eyes and Dr. Schorr to anyone and everyone that needs cataract surgery don’t wait it’s amazing
