Last summer, Optimal Therapy helped me with foot and calf issues. Their support and knowledge helped me get stronger, learn how to keep working on those areas, and get back to climbing. I was ultimately able to go on a much anticipated climbing trip in Mexico. This summer, I’m back for help with some shoulder pain before it becomes a bigger problem. I cannot be grateful enough for the excellent care that Dr. Matthew and his staff has given me since I started therapy just a little over a month ago. When I first came to Optimal, my ring finger was stiff due to a fracture and I could barely move it, and I was in pain. I was not sure what to expect from physical therapy so what you are about to read is something I did not believe would happen and yes I experience it!!

I went to Optimal Therapy due to losing part of my finger and it was so bad I could not look at it, had little mobility eith it and no self confidence....the staff and I mean ENTIRE STAFF really do care and in a period of five weeks of doing one hour rehabilitation 2 to 3 times week, well they got my life back, yes it was losing part of a finger but until you experience such loss well you take your fingers for granted until you lose part of one....they will push you in a positive way to do what you think is impossible.

Matt and his team gave me the motivation both verbal and physical to the point i could overcome the situation!!

I came to Optimal in hopes of alleviating lower back pain after my core muscles were weakened by a C section. Right away, Russell was able to identify the muscle groups that needed strengthening and provide many different exercises that helped me regain my strength. He designed a treatment plan that helped me feel strong again and lessened my daily pain. Massage therapy from Richard was also extremely effective for reducing my back pain. I would definitely return to Optimal for future treatment because of the care and compassion they showed me.

I was referred to this facility from my mother who had a good experience with Optimal Therapy in the past. I had contacted the Facility weeks prior to my surgery date, to make my initial appointment, which was very easy. In late July, I had a partial meniscectomy on my right knee. Within two days, post surgery, I was at Optimal Therapy at Fort Apache for my first appointment. Since day 1, the staff has been the utmost professional, kind, caring, and supportive bunch of people I had ever met. All the staff here are very genuine in the way they help their clients, all in hopes that they can assist them in their recovery and help them attain their goals. From the front desk personnel, Alia, who greeted me every time I stepped foot in their doorway, to my primary Physical Therapist, Russell, whom always had an action plan set in place for me, to his associate colleague, Richard, whom tailored my recovery program to fit my goals and help me get back to my former self, in one sense or another, had help me recover safely and quickly. Each one of them were patient and had the time to listen to my concerns, thoughts, or stories I had to share. Honestly, they start to feel like family. Even at the initial appointment, a thorough assessment was completed in order to formulate a program that was best suited for me. I'm very grateful that I had come across these people, who made my experience throughout therapy a memorable one. Besides the staff, the facility is well kept. They clean frequently between clients and keep the place as organized as possible. If you are looking for a place that likes to educate, encourage, and overall support you throughout your rehabilitation, I would highly recommend anyone to check this clinic out. Without those people, I don't think I would have gotten to this point in my life, where I felt like I had gotten a second chance to do the activities I love & have been doing for years. Optimal Therapy is the place you want to go for the best care, instruction and assistance when recovering from surgery, accidental injury or chronic pain. If you are a veteran and use the VA make sure you ask over AND OVER again to make sure that the people at the front desk make sure they see if there is any communication notes from the authorization department. I wasted a lot of time and got angry at the wrong people all because someone at the front desk HERE of this office couldn’t see a note in order to get me some more sessions. Thanks for wasting alot of time and causing me a lot of anger. I asked repeatedly if I needed to go back to the doc or the VA and was told no. And come to find out the authorization department here needed me to go back for whatever reason. Obviously this was never communicated to me. I had to find all this out the very hard way. The PTs and the PT assistants are very nice helpful tho.

I had a hip replacement and was scheduled for six week sessions to get my hip stronger. They were very hands on, they made sure I was doing each exercise correctly.

Excellent! I have used other physical therapy companies, both here in Las Vegas and in California for several issues (previous experience - neck, knee, foot surgery, back, and the current problem of shoulder & neck). Optimal Therapy on Durango is in my experience the very best. Why? (1) exceptional staff. Friendly, knowledgeable, caring. Always greeting me by name, always checking in. They do not rely on you to fill out a form every other week to evaluate progress - they ask questions at every session. (Yes, insurance needs the occasional form - these guys talk to you!). (2) expertise & experience. I feel very strongly that Cory is the best physical therapist I’ve worked with over the years. He listens. I have never felt that my comments of how I’m feeling that day were ever ignored. They are considered, watched, and addressed as appropriate. I’m sure I’m missing something, but seriously I watch the each and every staff person interact with others and realize how lucky I am to have them on my team.

The people at Optimal Physical Therapy Durango are simply the best! The staff is not only friendly, kind, and considerate, they are also enthusiastic , supportive, and knowledgeable. They have a superb team led by Cory Stattelman, DPT. He really knows his stuff! I am now walker and cane free thanks to Cory and his team. I think they’re the greatest!!!

My experience at Optional Therapy S. Durango has been exceptional.
From Jade at the front desk to Cory at the first evaluation meeting, I was made to feel cared for and encouraged.
Everyone including Makayla, Christnah (Kaye), Justin and Jared all showed concern and patience.
When Makayla discovered I wasn't doing my home exercises as often as I should, she took me aside and emphasized the importance, and made me promise I would. She showed such care I couldn't let her down... I kept my promise !!!
Cory was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain my condition, always with kindness and a smile.
I am thankful I had the good fortune to be treated by such professionals.

It has been a great and positive experience at the Optimal Therapy, S Durango location. The team (Jade, Makayla, Christnah (Kaye), Justin, Jared and Cory) are tremendous in overseeing and ensuring that I have the proper therapy. They are true to their professions and informal, considerate, friendly, attentive and patience. They also keep the place cleaned and sanitize the equipments after each use. The staff at Optimal Therapy at the South Durango location have been extremely helpful during my recovery from a tibia and fibula surgery. They helped me regain my strength and learn how to walk again without pain. They are all extremely friendly and I always leave my sessions feeling a lot better.

The staff at Optimal Therapy - Durango make coming to PT fun and enjoyable. Front desk staff member Jade is incredibly kind and extremely helpful. PT technician Makayla is compassionate and ready to help anyone whenever it is needed. PT technician Justin is exceptionally nice and is always ready with a patient's next exercises. PT technician Cristinah is amazingly supportive and ready to put a smile on everyone's face. PT Cory is incredibly passionate and compassionate and will go the extra mile to make sure patients are living at their optimal physical and mental health. I would recommend this Optimal Therapy location to anyone interested in physical therapy services!
