Tried calling and either I got the run around or when someone finally does answer, it sounded like it was BY ACCIDENT because I could hear the side conversations going on in the background with the woman not realizing I could hear her. I said "HELLO" a few times and she didn't respond but kept yapping with whoever she was talking to! Before this, I was on hold to the point where the first guy transferred me BACK to community care only for them to transfer me BACK to southwest!!! This is why people want federal workers fired as it is now!

The doctors here donβt care at all. I missed one call, called back immediately, and they acted like nothing ever happened. I canβt get a single response from Dr. Zinati or Carol Ramsland. I have a documented history of kidney stones, and none of that was considered with the medication they put me on. Iβm a 100% VAβrated disabled veteran, and Iβm already reaching back out to my original team in California because at least they treated me like a patient instead of an inconvenience.

Front desk is helpful. However, I checked in 15 min before my appointment and wasnβt seen by the provider til 30/40 min after my appointment time, which was whatever. I then got called to go back for a simple thing, checked in again and waited 1+ hours because the nurses never checked their messages. None of the other VAs are like this and they are way busier.

I absolutely hate dealing with civilian affairs. Every time I deal with these people it is everyone's first day. In between changing providers, locations and always having missing information. With referrals expiring before the actual appointment date. Then you got to start all over with these guys. After being hospitalized.
My provider says" someone will call you" gee thanks .....
How is it possible that I received better care in Iraq overseas in a combat theater than I do here stateside. I have wasted so many years just waiting on appointments and waiting for the VA to get their shit together. Then they wonder why the suicide epidemic within the veteran community has increased. And they still believe they're doing a good job. What a slap in the face to the combat veteran community.
Change the name from veteran Affairs to CIVILIAN AFFAIRS.

The front reception person was really friendly and helpful. I think she was a volunteer.
There is onsite armed security there in the front. Lot's of security cameras covering all public areas.
This clinic is clean and has most of what you need to get service if you have an appointment. There are walk-ins, too. Just take a number.
The parking lot is huge and there are plenty of handicapped spaces. A big drop-off area is near the front entrance.
Inside, there is complimentary coffee and bottles of water donated by a local entity.
The bathrooms were clean.
Did full lab work today. The person who drew my blood was fast and efficient.
Visited the vaccine clinic for Shingles shot... in and out in about 5 minutes!
Free WiFi available.
As far as the doctors and medical providers there.... It's like a box of chocolates and you never know what you're going to get.

The Social workers continue to fail Veterans. A Vetern needs rental or utility assistance and we are given AN OUTDATED LIST WITH NO FUNDING.
Let's do better! Many Veterans harm themselves due to the lack of empathy for those who served in combat!

Came here for the first time today. Parking lot is huge with plenty of spaces and handicap parking available. Once you enter the building, you need to check in with the kiosk. They are located behind the front info desk. They arenβt very noticeable unless you actually see them. Once you get a number you want until the big automated voice calls you where you need to go. It seems like a streamlined process but I did see a lot of folks confused by it.
The lab is short staffed at this location so walk-ins for lab service wait up to 40 minutes.
Just about all the staff I encountered were friendly and willing to listen to my questions/concerns. In the past, I have had some very negative experiences at other VA facilities at different locations. So far, the folks here are doing a pretty decent job.

Just moved here in August. Had everything lined up for appointments at the VA network before I even left. Iβm Diabetic and need psychiatric services. Evidently my primary has to refer me before that appointment. So.. itβs Oct 18th my appointment is on the 19th. I get a call that the appointment was made improperly because Iβm new to this VA. They wanted to put me out to Dec 30 but I told them I had everything set up well in advance and need to get meds. Kinda important. I told em they dropped the ball on this and waiting to tell me of this issue till the day before my appointment was unacceptable. Guy on the phone asked β How did we drop the ball?β Then said βRules is rules.β What kind of answer is that. Had to get pissed to finally get a new Dr and an appointment for the Oct 30th. End of call there was no βThank you for your service.β I hope they get it together. This isnβt how to treat a disabled veteran. So far, very unimpressed and worried about getting proper and courteous treatment.

Great care is taken here from my lab experience . Usually in and out in 15 minutes on most occasions. Dr Favis and Nurse Burgos are excellent for my needs and the Vet app works good for to send messages and requests. Margarita and Jemma in the labs are sweet hearts and in vein and right on target. Lol
This week Dymonde,Marie at the windows and Jemma (lab)were very nice ,professional and courteous to me as well.

I like my doctor when I get to see him appointments are to far apart for my condition and this clinic claims they have no phone (bold face lie). When I do call, the main hospital will answer and takes the message I request a call back to make an appointment but they never call back. Living in Pahrump makes it hard to get an appointment.

I was notified today that Dr. Watson will no longer be practicing medicine at the Southwest Primary Care clinic on Buffalo Drive here in Las Vegas. I am sad to see him go even though I've known for a couple of years that this day would come. I first met Dr. Watson almost 13 years ago, even before the Buffalo clinic was built. To see the same VA doctor for all those years is an anomaly to say the least.
I have had nothing but good words for him in all the past years. He will be missed, and I wish him all the best in his retirement.

It takes six months to see a doctor sometimes. They left me a message and I called back then they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. The next time they hung up on me. Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe this. Then again, this is par for the course when it comes to the VA

When I called to complain about this VA to the National VA Hotline, the representative told me she would be rich if she had a dollar for every time someone called to complain about the VA in Las Vegas. There is virtually no care; a group of people that get a government paycheck every two weeks who do little to nothing but get paid. Forget about services in the Las Vegas VA system. It's a joke.

Always very welcoming and although we're only here monthly it's never crowded. One of our Favorite Physicians resides here, Dr. Chipchura. If you require a Mental Health Doc, and let's face it we all do π€, Dr. Chipchura is the BEST! I say this because I've been to many and Dr. Chipchura's approaches, calming vibe and voice, professionalism, compassion and enthusiasm, and empathy simply blew me away. The fact that Dr. Chipchura managed to get my husband to open up, to be comfortable enough to achieve this is monumental for my husband, for me, and our family.

This is in more regards to their Staff for educational benefits, The Va has been a tremendous help during the Pandemic in helping me get my benefits and keeping informed. I was initially seen at this clinic in the summer of 2016. I was assigned a PCP who immediately decided to cancel all of my scripts WITHOUT notifying me, not based on my medical history, addiction concerns, or current medical conditions. Her decision was based on, according to her, "i do not believe anyone under the age of 67 needs to have painkillers." After contacting Sen. Reid's office, the PCP was removed from my case and I was placed under the care of Dr. Ngyuen. I was seen by Dr. Ngyuen three times. On my last visit, I was upset because I discovered he had ordered urinalysis tests to monitor drug use. He failed to inform me of this during all three of my visits. I have never abused drugs in my life. I have no history of drug seeking or doctor shopping. I asked him why he failed to inform me that one he had ordered the tests, and two, why he did not explain it was a standard procedure for the VA to do this. He immediately recused himelf from my care. Since this time I have been bounced from clinic to clinic, receiving the most basic of care.
I have been seen by the VA for over 30 years now. My time in Texas, and Montana were great. My experience in Nevada has been the type we read about in the news, with the exception of my hospital care. THAT care has been superb. If this was a rating of the hospital, it would be 5 stars. But it is not.
For my mental health care, I have been seen by three counselors at the SWPCC. All three were, in both my personal and professional opinion terrible. They merely cut & pasted my notes. My last therapist could not even remember my name. I saw her three times. I understand they have heavy caseloads. I was was in crisis twice, one, leading to a serious event; nothing but crickets from the VA. I have since sought outside care, and am doing incredibly good.
I hope my new PCP, Dr. GOle, is decent. I meet him next week. It is my sincerest wish to be able to update my review, but for now, if you can avoid this clinic... do.

I have to go back to work, I was fasting and so are all the other elderly vets waiting for the 1 lab tech they have on staff to catch up. This is ridiculous to only have 1 lab tech on duty to draw blood, and a site manager Rosalind Jones that cannot be reached or has a backup manager in place of her absence.
