For the past two years, I have visited a doctor at this facility exactly once per year for what should have been a $0 copay annual preventive wellness exam. On both occasions, the visits were billed incorrectly to my Health Plan of Nevada (HPN) insurance, resulting in copay charges that I should not have incurred.

More recently, I was also billed for the difference between the amount charged by the facility and the insurer's contracted rate, rather than receiving the $0 copay preventive coverage I was entitled to. From my understanding, billing a patient for the difference above an insurer's contracted rate may also violate insurance regulations.

I also had my first colonoscopy performed here. Despite being reassured multiple times by HPN that the procedure was fully covered as preventive care, the facility attempted to charge me a $100 copay for that as well.

After experiencing these billing issues repeatedly, I am finding it increasingly difficult to believe they are simply honest mistakes. I am beginning to question whether these practices are intentional, particularly given that both the insurance provider and the medical facility are affiliated with UnitedHealth Group. This apparent conflict of interest raises serious concerns for me.

Also seen 2 different doctors here. And both want to use AI to transcribe your conversation with them. And I just found out after getting a copy from billing that the notes it takes makes mistakes. And they don't get corrected. So I would advise anyone going here to refuse the AI recording when the doctor asks you. Of the notes the doctor read later will not be correct.

They are the worst doctors in town.I was sick with fever and they did to me only blood pressure check fever and hight is not normal that you pay copy only for those tings and you don't get treated, not tested why you where sick. Went in on a Saturday afternoon about 3:30 and had absolutely no wait after registering. Was seen by Dr Devera very quickly. He was also training a doctor to be. To save me some time and breath they both listen to my lungs and hard at the same time. They were both absolutely wonderful. I made an OB/GYN appointment with Southwest Medical (Optum) two months ago. Before they scheduled it, they verified my insurance and told me everything was fine. The day before my appointment, I called again to confirm, and I was transferred to two different employees who asked for all of my information again and clearly told me my appointment was confirmed and that my insurance was accepted.

I drove 35 minutes to get there on the day of my visit, only to be told at check-in that they do NOT accept my insurance. Not only did they refuse to take responsibility for THEIR mistake, but the staff was extremely rude and dismissive. There was no apology, no effort to help, and no professionalism whatsoever.

The situation escalated to the point where staff threatened to call security and Metro police on me — a patient — simply because I was rightfully upset about their error. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior from a medical office. They never called to cancel, never corrected their misinformation, and even during my confirmation call, they still gave me wrong guidance.

This experience wasted two months of waiting, hours of my time, and I STILL didn’t get to see an OB/GYN. The complete lack of communication, accountability, and compassion is alarming. This office is not patient-friendly and clearly does not respect patients’ time, dignity, or health needs.

I do not recommend this location to anyone. If you value your time, proper communication, and basic respect, look elsewhere.

In desperation, I returned to urgent care for the third time due to extreme sciatic pain. The first time, they told me it was a ligament injury, but the medication didn’t help at all. Later, my provider confirmed it was sciatica and prescribed medicine that only reduced my pain by about 20%., She forgot about the referral for a physical therapy she told me I needed.
Yesterday, after 34 days of pain, I went back with unbearable pain. After waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes sitting down —which only made things worse— I was crying and begged the doctor for help. Michael Hughes, PA at Optum Urgent Care at North Tenaya Way - Las Vegas, instead of showing empathy, got upset at seeing me so desperate, scolded me, lowered the dosage of my medication, and gave me a ketorolac injection, which I already take twice a day and does nothing for my pain. On my records in MyChart he wrote that my pain lowered to number 5, lies lies lies!!!
Stay away from that clinic, and especially from that doctor ! Today, I will urgently seek another place where I can actually receive proper care. Just imagine suffering from sciatica pain with only half the necessary medication?

When my daughter arrived seeking assistance — potentially due to an allergic reaction — Sean did not make a full effort to help. Instead, he advised her to call and verify her own insurance. As someone trained in medical administration myself, I know that front desk staff at urgent care facilities typically have the tools and knowledge to assist with insurance verification directly.

If a patient is experiencing symptoms that could indicate an allergic reaction, the focus should be on care and safety first, not on pushing them away due to a previous difficult encounter or a moment of frustration. That moment could have been life-threatening, and it is deeply concerning that she was essentially turned away without being triaged or offered any medical attention.

I understand that everyone has tough days, but professionalism and patient care should always come first in a healthcare setting. I hope this matter will be taken seriously and addressed appropriately with the staff involved.

From the front desk checking in with Sean to discharge with Tre Q, everything was great. Went in on a Sunday morning and really did not have to wait any great length of time. Facility was clean and organized. Had an appointment with Rosemary Sabijon, APRN, who was extremely thorough. She had a student, Virginia, with her who was very respectful of my privacy. Gladys took my vitals and was quick to let me know the results. Don took Chest X-rays and was also very respectful of my privacy. Friendly and funny guy. Rosemary came back in after X-rays were developed and informed me of their results and put through prescriptions to my pharmacy. Tre came in with discharge papers and went over everything again just to make sure that I understood. She then walked me out. So grateful for this Medical Team and that they are within reach for help.

I visited this site very recently. I was in a lot of pain and had been to my primary doctor before. I cannot say enough great things about my visit the entire staff was superb and I seldom give out these kind of ratings but I'm just being honest. From reception to assistants and especially Dr. Ian Fero who actually took alot of time to explain where my pain was originating from and how I could treat it long term. He was wonderful, I hope he sticks around. Please do yourself a favor if you need medical attention immediately. This has been my go to clinic since I was a kid and as an adult it still hasn’t changed. Sean at the front desk is so incredibly personable and helpful. He immediately made me feel comfortable and really set the tone for the rest of my visit! The triage nurse Grisel was so sweet & my NP Jane was awesome. 7/2024 Update - Still a great place to get urgent care. They are a well-oiled machine. They have you in and out and they nail the important part; they address your issue.

5/2023- I came in with a pretty painful back injury and spasms. Online it stated the wait time was 15 minutes. The checkin was seamless, I did not get the persons name, but they were great.

I waited a total of 5 minutes after checkin before being brought back to a room.

The MA was professional, I am spacing on her name, but she was quick and helpful.

The MA brought me to the room and it was 5-10 minutes before Erin, the provider came back. Erin was professional and thorough. In my experience, chronic back pain is brushed off in urgent care/E.R’s. That was not the case here and I felt I got the care I needed.

Johnny, the nurse, was awesome too. Quick and easy shot to help with the spasms.

Would not return here. They took my blood work, never called me back. So I Called multiple times.. Got multiple answers—first people said I never had it done, second people said it was never sent, and then magically on my last call, my test results came back negative! (after me calling for 2 straight days) Disorganized mess. Really wish I did not pay the co pay just to get an antibiotic prescription written. Go your primary or a different urgent care. I can't say enough good things about SW Medical Tenaya Urgent Care. The staff was courteous, empathetic and efficient. After being examined, the doctor ordered blood work and an x-ray, which were done right onsite and the results came within a half hour. When the doctor examined the x-ray results, she ordered a Cat Scan to get more information, which they also did onsite. Amazing! From the CT scan, she diagnosed a burst appendix and delivered the news with compassion and just the right amount of detail that we felt informed, but not overwhelmed. They sent orders to the ER of the hospital of our choice and we were on our way. Thank you everyone at SW, you made us feel cared for while in crisis.

Doctor was awful to me. Refused to treat me for my migraine I have had for 3 days. said for all I know you could have a brain tumor and said I was there too often and they were cracking down on people like me and to go to the hospital ER. I said why do you care how often I am here and said I am not your primary doctor and believe me I don't care about you. That is why I did not say anything to you when I saw you 3 times previously. The lack of any sort of accountability here is absurd. I went in for what feels like covid on Monday 01/02/2023, having had a fever for 3 days, cough, and worst sore throat ever. Immediately, when I was brought back, the medical assistant treated me like one of my high school students trying to go home sick because of a test. I've seen better empathy from a crocodile. While the doctor was nice, I am still waiting for results.

Called them yesterday for advice, sore throat and cough worsening, and need an extended work note. They said they would call back, and did not.

After waiting for an hour for a callback today, I got a operator on the line and she gave me the results of Influenza A positive....from my test on 12/05/22. You can't make this up. I explained that test was from a month ago and is what implied the notion it is covid bc of flu immunity.

She called the nurses, they told her to tell me sorry the tests are taking long, if I need anything to call a telehealth advice hotline. This is absolutely nuts.

This place used to be better, but has absolutely dumpstered in the last 2 years. Might as well take your chances with UMC Quickcare

I saw Doctor Marcovitch. I think he made up his mind before he even saw me that I had food poisoning or a stomach bug. He didn’t even bother to proper assessment. Despite my abnormal lab work that I tried to ask about, he had told me that the lab work didn’t matter. I brought up my concerns about my nausea and diarrhea and what to do next time this happened because this was a reoccurring issue and his response was to just not eat. So given the circumstances, I guess I would just never eat again.

Fast forward a few hours later, I had to go back to another urgent care and I didn’t want to because doctor Marcovitch had already told me I just had a “stomach virus”.

The other urgent care office I went to did more things in just their basic assessment than Doctor Marcovitch bothered to do.

Turned out, it was life threatening and I needed emergency surgery.

Doctor Marcovitch has terrible bedside manner, and I am not sure how this man is even a doctor.

I never even write reviews, I just felt I had to.. to save other people the trouble of what this urgent care will bring you.

I used to love this clinic and its doctors, but when I got a new job with an East Coast insurance company my experience changed. No one I talked to was able to understand how United Care Shared Services work. No one was willing to call the number on the back on my insurance card to verify or get the details they need to accept my insurance.
I kept getting told "I don't recognize that insurance company" or "You have to pay 20%" but they wouldn't tell me what the 20% was, or what it was 20% of. They kept interrupting me, not answering my questions so I left.
Even when I called back looking for an insurance expert or someone with more experience, I got told the same thing.
I cannot fathom why no one knows how to pick up the phone and call the number on an insurance card, or has heard of United Health Shared Services. I'm not even in the medical profession and I've heard of this service before.
Frustrated, lack of customer service or empathy from this experience has made me change providers.
Save yourself some hassle and just look elsewhere.

Took my mother into this Southwest Urgent Care on Tenaya back on October 4, 2021, due to my mom's allergies acting up. We got there sometime after 5p or 6p and we didn't wait that long.

We were seen by the attending PA that day which was Ian Fero. He walked in and introduced himself and asked what was going on with my mother. Mr. Fero took the time to listen to what my mother was going through and spoke to us in a professional manner. He really seemed like he cared.

He made my mother feel less nervous, due to her always being nervous when going to see a doctor. Gave her his diagnosis and informed her what she had. He asked her if he had any more questions for him or concerns before he left.

We went back on October 19, 2021, around the same time which was after 5p or 6p. and to our luck we got to be seen once again by Ian Fero.

He remembered my mother from our last visit and began to ask what was she coming in for this time. She was experiencing lower back pain and abdominal pain. They ran some test and found the problem and immediately got her on antibiotics. He really took the time to check in and see how she was doing. Again he's the kind of person that cares about the patients no matter what the reason is that you are in an urgent care.

These are the kinds of Doctors that we need, the ones that care and take the time to listen to you. Too bad he's not a primary care doctor, I think he'd be great at it. And the nurses were also great and very nice. All the staff that we had an encounter with on both dates were great. Based on our experience on both dates.

This Urgent Care facility is fantastic! I have been to other "Urgent Care" facilities around town that were independent of SW Medical and they were terrible. I have also been to Summerlin Hospital where I was seen for six hours in the waiting room following a motorcycle accident because all of the beds were full in the ER. This Urgent Care is staffed with MD's, RN's and is willing and able to diagnose issues such as fractured ribs and a stomach bug that I had at the same time. It was incredibly painful but the treating physician administered medication that calmed stomach and chest muscle spasms. I was prescribed medication and felt better upon leaving.

Was there for quest Diagnostics at this location I got there 3:58 pm and they not made my laboratory test because they close at 4. Not the best service I have very bad experiences with Southwest Medical they just don't care. Very disappointed of they services.

If you have HPN insurance and you get injured avoid this quick care. You will be better off going to the emergency room. I made the mistake of going to this quick care this week with a possible torn bicep and I was refused a referral for an MRI and only after begging was I able to get an xray.

I used to take my son here. He has been sick for a while and each time they would tell me it is just allergies after only looking at him. I tried again a few days ago, and asked specifically to test for certain infections and they wouldn't. I decided to try a Carenow urgent care yesterday, turns out not only does my son have the Flu, he also has Strep throat at the same time 😭 I'm glad I went because this southwest urgent care just told me to give him Claritin every day for a month 😥 This totally could and would have been prevented earlier if southwest medical would actually do more than the bare minimum. Be careful and get a second opinion always 😬😬😬

This was probably one of the worst experiences I ever had. On Wed May 8, 2019 around noon. My two year old had a fever of 104.3 he has history of seizures because of high fever. I rushed him in and explained to the receptionist she took all my information my payment blah blah blah blah after two hours they took us in and waited inside a little longer for the doctor , once he entered the room he seemed very frustrated. My toddler was really Sick and cranky and the doctor wasn't patient with him, I was trying to explain the symptoms and he looked into his ears, listened to the heart and barely looked into his throat which I thought that was the reason for his fever. In less than 5 min he was done. He said no signs of strep throat and I asked what I thought it was a fair question, would you do at test on him?He responded to me. Do you need me to give you all the technical terms to explain to you why I don't think he has it , with the sarcastic tone and looking irritated. He pretty much dismissed me and my kids after we waiting for 2 hours I was so upset, I took my kids and I replied to him I apologize for asking, I understand your are busy and he interrupted me saying I have a lot of patients to see. As I was walking away he said to come back if he gets worse by that point I thought it was him again been sarcastic and I responded I Won't! When I walked away he came out and gave me an "apology/excuse " that ppl questioned him before and he thought I was doing the same!!!! I said to him that I waited two hours with 2 kids, my two year old with fever of a 104.3 I paid a co pay, we paid for my insurance, for him to treat me like that and not give my son proper treatment, just because other people has disrespected him and no way, form or shape I was rude or questioned anything!!!!! it was a fair question from a concerned mother!!! My son was taken in an ambulance to the hospital because of febrile seizures!!!! I couldn't believe it. I didn't choose his career !!!he chose to be a doctor "to help others" I didn't think it he was professional . I will never ever again take my kids here!! be aware parents!!

We waited 3 hours after being called back to see the dr. This place is such a joke. They have gone so down hill. Then they said they couldn’t even read the xrays or didn’t know what they meant. They prescribed me 600mg ibuprofen even though I literally fell of a ladder onto my neck and back. I’m in extreme pain and when my dad called to ask the advice nurse what we should be doing they said they were unable to give him any advice since he’s not the patient even though we are both insured under the same policy. They are a waste of time and money and can’t believe they get away with treating people like this. By far my worst experience with Sma so far!!!!! Don’t trust these people to do what they should when it comes to your health. They make it more than clear that we are just a number to them. Worst health care providers in town.

Went in on a Friday afternoon in mid-April with an eye issue. Was seen very quickly for triage, then only waited less than ten minutes before being taken to a room. Soon after getting a room, Dr. Melinda Kwan attended to me with concern. After I answered some questions from the doctor, she ordered a CT scan for me which was done right there at the Tenaya facility in less than a half-hour after being ordered. Dr. Kwan carefully explained what was going on, and gave me referrals. She has followed-up on my results and given another referral based on those results. Everyone who helped me was efficient and courteous. This is our second visit to the Tenaya Urgent Care. A few weeks earlier, our youngest (adult) son was seen there, with a similarly great experience. Fast service, and efficient, knowledgeable care. Our family is grateful for the staff, and the extended hours, too!

I always loved this place but after my visit today I no longer want to be affiliated with Southwest medical. I went in the Urgent with excruciating pain in my Right Upper Quadrant my vitals were taken and I went back to the waiting area. When I was called back I was asked to give a urine sample. When I came out the restroom the lady was gone I had to find someone to find my room. I sat in that room for over an hour crying in pain. I eventually walked out to go to the hospital where I have to be admitted. Worse experience with any medical facility and I’m a nurse. Wish I could give 0 stars.

Me and my husband took my 2 little ones in for flu like symptoms. From the moment we walked in it was a pleasant experience from the front desk staff to the medical assistant and nurses. I was overly amazed by Dr. Renton he was so great with my kids and just just a amazing Doctor definitely wish we could have him for our family doctor. All i can say is thank you!
