I would strongly recommend against using SDMI. While the visit itself was perfectly fine and the on-location staff were pleasant, the actions after that point were anything but.

For one, they took nearly a month to read a MRI because they were "backed up." I've had a MRI at several facilities in the past and never heard of such a thing but I think it's entirely unacceptable. Thank goodness the result didn't show anything of an urgent nature to be aware of.

Secondly, their billing department doesn't have a clue what they are doing. They billed my insurance (BCBS) without providing all of the required information and then just ignored the denial (knowing full well it had been pre-authorized). I had to reach out to them and inform them of it and they have been resistant to addressing the issue. The "collection specialist" Jessica A. lied and claimed that the EOB showed I owed ~500 (which I had to pay upfront) when in fact the document did not show that - it showed the entire claim was denied and they didn't bother to follow up on it. Then she was highly unprofessional and refused to cooperate with the insurance administrator to try to rectify the situation. SDMI better realize they have a PPO contractual agreement with the insurance plan and their cooperation isn't optional. The patient shouldn't even have to get involved in these matters to begin with.

Unfortunately, both of these post-visit issues have soured my overall opinion of SDMI.

The front desk staff nurse, and doctor and that took care of me for my retrograde urethrogram were great. I'm extremely upset with SDMI's policy to have the referring urologist get the insurance approval. SDMI is the one performing the procedure, SDMI knows the insurance codes better than my Urology group. SDMI received the referral and did not call to inform me my urologist needed to get the approval. The nurse at my Urology group did not use the right code. This stupid policy and back and forth between SDMI and my Urology group caused me to have to reschedule my cystoscopy resulting in a 2 month delay. I will never use SDMI if I have another choice.

We had an 11:00 appointment for an upper GI scan. We were told to arrive 30 minutes prior. We arrived at 10:30. We were not seen until 12:10. My granddaughter is 3! She hadn’t eaten or drank anything for hours. Just not ok. . The staff were all good

They look at The prescription the doctor sent. And then they just make their own guess on what part of the body they’re supposed to look at. I went to have two different areas looked at in my body. They couldn’t read what the doctor wrote so instead of calling the doctor and asking. They just assumed and went and did the imaging of what they thought. That being said I had to go back to them to have more imaging done because they didn’t take the proper pictures of the area. My doctor was asking for. It was a real big inconvenience for me to not have to go once but twice. It’s in a hard enough area to get to with all the road construction. So it was a little upsetting that I had to go back. The staff tried to be as nice and accommodating as they could. But they should definitely make a phone call if they don’t know what they’re doing or what pictures are supposed to have. Because my time is very important just as well as theirs.

Adrian was amazing. He was very calm, and attentive to me during my MRI. I informed Adrain of how the contrast impacts my epilepsy auras and as he was injecting the contrast he was patient and attentive. The appointment itself got all mixed up.. my dr.s office had a company set up appointments for me.. and wow was it all messed up! The tech explained what she could do and such... she was Fantastic! This was the first time I have had any testing done at the Maryland Parkway location but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Unfortunately the road construction going on in front of the Maryland location really had traffic backed up. But the staff at the SDMI location were the best. Very efficient, professional and friendly and everything was spotless. My tech Kevin was awesome. He kept me informed as to how long the individual tests would run and kept checking to see how I was doing. I’m a very hard stick and he found the right vein the first time which meant a lot to be. Plus…the results from the MRI brain scan were in my patient portal that afternoon. I had a great experience at the Maryland Parkway location and the staff are all top notch!

Great. Clean and professional. EXCEPT, there is no place to put your things in the bathroom. I'm given a gown and told to empty my bladder and take off my pants and underwear. No wear to put my phone, keys, pants, etc. except balance on the edge of a sink, then the trash can while I wash my hands. Unacceptable.
