Do not go to Southwest Medical Associates. They are the worst doctors in town.!!! You will be lucky if you actually get the treatment that you were seeking when you go there!! I would not take my dog to Southwest Medical!! Personally, I will be changing from United healthcare Optum and Southwest Medical in October!!!
THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went in on a Saturday afternoon about 3:30 and had absolutely no wait after registering. Was seen by Dr Devera very quickly. He was also training a doctor to be. To save me some time and breath they both listen to my lungs and hard at the same time. They were both absolutely wonderful. They taught me something about my blood thinner I'm on and I taught them something about ordering it from Canada.

In desperation, I returned to urgent care for the third time due to extreme sciatic pain. The first time, they told me it was a ligament injury, but the medication didn’t help at all. Later, my provider confirmed it was sciatica and prescribed medicine that only reduced my pain by about 20%., She forgot about the referral for a physical therapy she told me I needed.
Yesterday, after 34 days of pain, I went back with unbearable pain. After waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes sitting down β€”which only made things worseβ€” I was crying and begged the doctor for help. Michael Hughes, PA at Optum Urgent Care at North Tenaya Way - Las Vegas, instead of showing empathy, got upset at seeing me so desperate, scolded me, lowered the dosage of my medication, and gave me a ketorolac injection, which I already take twice a day and does nothing for my pain. On my records in MyChart he wrote that my pain lowered to number 5, lies lies lies!!!
Stay away from that clinic, and especially from that doctor ! Today, I will urgently seek another place where I can actually receive proper care. Just imagine suffering from sciatica pain with only half the necessary medication?

I was a walk in patient to Urgent Care because I've recently moved from California and have not had luck finding a Primary Care physician. I have been having severe pain and intense swelling in my lymph nodes at the sides of my neck, and with no care team in state, I chose Urgent Care. Unfortunately, I was unlucky enough to be seen by PA Michael Hughes.

He walked into the exam room and began berating me for coming in Urgent Care instead of seeing my last primary privider... who is 13 hours away in Northern California. The first question he asked me was why I wasn't seeing her instead. The obvious answer is because I've moved and I'm not even in that state anymore. So, a very strange beginning. He then shamed me for the amount of medications I take, saying "I see you visit doctors a ton and take quite a few medications. Are you surprised I can see what prescriptions other doctors have written?" I take only 4 for a heart condition I was born with. These were the first things he said to me. It was obvious by this point that he had no intention of hearing anything I said because he had decided before he met me that I was there to drug seek! I was there because I am in pain and seeking a diagnosis and help!

I told him my lymph nodes were very painful and swollen and restricted my breathing and swallowing, and in my After Visit Summary he wrote that I was there for "sore throat" but was not in pain and had no problems eating or drinking. That's not at all what I said to him. In fact, it is nearly the opposite. I was in fact not there for a "sore throat" and I never said these words to anyone in the office). I'm sincerely appalled. What the hell is wrong with this man? He didn't listen AND made things up in his summary? I'm truly appalled. This is not honest behavior.

I dont know why he was so rude and judgemental to not even have heard my actual reason for seeking medical attention. It's actually scary that this is what is offered as medical care. He seemed to be trying to "correct" me for his own ego. And smiling sadisticly at me when he saw I had been triggered by the way he was interacting with me. I was completely demoralized and my PTSD was triggered. Disturbing behavior for a medical professional.

PA Michael Hughes is a horrible, egotistical, judgmental man who was so aggressively antagonistic to me that I left in tears and with ZERO medical treatment or advice. Completely inept and inappropriate staff. I'm horrified by my experience at your clinic and will not let this go, I have never been so abused at a clinic before. This is an abhorrent way to treat people in pain and looking for assistance. Your medical staff cannot be trusted. I feel like a lied in his report.

These employees are the worst. Zero acknowledgement when entering. Zero effort info helping with basic information. They don't care about patients and the care they require. I'd rather die than get served from people who could care less.
