This is a great place and I'm amazed at how helpful everybody has been to me since I have been going here for three years. I couldn't describe all the great care and compassion I've had at this clinic from routine appointments, Lab work, physical therapy and immunizations. They have helped me with in community care that want available at the clinic and I have always felt that they truly care about my well being. This clinic is wonderful and I'm happy to have found them.

I have a really good doctor here. My problem is with the lab. I make an appointment for labs and wait over an hour to get a draw.

I try to go to the VA Hospital in Las Vegas when I can. I can walk in there within 10 minutes.

Very lucky to have access to VA care, as I work part time and do not have medical or dental insurance. This facility is nice, very clean, plenty of parking. All the staff I have encountered are always nice, professional and friendly. Have been coming here for 8 years and not had any negative experiences.

I went to the VA and was seen by Dr. Tsang. My two main issues were left foot pain and right ear discomfort. He did not look in my ear or touch my foot. In my previous exams for the past 40 years, if I went to a clinic with an ear issue, the provider would use an otoscope
(Readily available in every exam room) to inspect the ear canal, tympanic membrane, and palpate for tenderness. Maybe a bug in my ear? May a foreign object? Maybe an unresolved infection? Nothing was examined. My foot was hurting and usually a quick steroid pack does the job. He did visualize the foot but did not touch. Did not look in between toes, did not check pedal or dorsalis pedal pulses. No diabetic foot exam was performed. An xray was done and I am still waiting for the results. I ended up going 4 days (today) and I went to be seen again in a local civilian clinic today for the medication I so desperately needed for my swollen, red, and painful foot. Even if I take my dog to the Veterinarian for ear issues (scratching, discharge, discomfort) the dog will have his ear inspected with an otoscope.

Southern Nevada VA is outstanding! After years of hearing about the VA I was glad to discover that Nevada VA goes about and beyond to help veterans. Even before I was off terminal leave I was contacted and the transition team coordinated to insure i was good to go. Most recently Doctor Maria Diana Garcia has been awesome. She regularly makes herself available to help veterans at all times. She insures I have all that I need and am taken care of. Thank you Dr Garcia.

I just left the Southeast VA Clinic, where I had a wonderful experience with Doctor Maria Diana Garcia. It was my first time meeting with her, and it was a great experience. She was very down to earth, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. I generally have had good experiences with the VA, but I want to give her some official kudos. She is a credit to that facility.

I recently relocated to Henderson, Nevada, made an appointment with the VA to see a PCP and ultimately really needed to see a Chiropractor.
I made an appointment and was scheduled to see a VA PCP four months later; that’s the way it goes with first appointments. I have heard and read the horror stories about VA clinics and I experienced some issues myself at other VA clinics.
This was my first time at the VA clinic on Boulder Highway, it was very clean, the check in process was easy and organized. My wait time was maybe 10 minutes. My waiting number was called and the lady at the window Valerie, checked me in, she was very down to earth and pleasant.
Nurse Christian, was very nice, asked the appropriate questions, he had a very calming demeanor and he informed me on what the process was going to be like.
My PCP, Dr. Purayil was very knowledgeable, she asked questions and listened to my answers and my concerns. She was also calming and did not rush me through my appointment. She set me up with x-rays for my back, which was done right there at the same appointment and set up an appointment for a chiropractor.
This was my first VA visit at this clinic and I am very satisfied overall with the services that I received.

Just a warning you need an appointment to get your blood drawn before 11:00 am. Then after you get your appointment you will wait for at least 45mins to 1 1/2 hours to get your blood drawn. I don’t know how you get this far behind just drawing blood.

So I had an appointment for blood test for Dr. That was set up 6 months ago. They call me after it was made at the clinic mind you. Tell me that it needs to be changed to an appointment? Something new. So I go to appointment today. Arrived 15 mins before Appointment. Get checked in and told to have a seat. Appointment time was at 1045. Didn't get me back to draw till 1145? 1 hour to draw blood is unacceptable when you have an appointment for a blood draw. When I told this to the person drawing blood she comes back with they are short handed? Then why were ALL THE VETERANS WAITING OVER AN 1.5 HOURS FOR DOCTORS APPOINTMENT? TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

. When a massive stroke and Parkinson's disease forced me to retire from my civilian profession, I learned that the years I had spent in the USAF as a young woman earned me VA medical care.
Thus, for the last 21 years the Southern Nevada VA Healthcare System has provided continuous and very expensive medical care.
Is the VA system perfect? Of course not. But any system designed and operated by human beings is certain to be flawed to some extent. Therefore, it is essential to establish a successful relationship with the complex, but people-oriented VA. Practicing courtesy, cooperation, and patience would be a reliable step in that direction. It works for me!
I have lost count of the examinations, tests, diagnoses, referrals, and treatments I have undergone in recent years that originated in the Southeast Clinic in Henderson. Also uncountable, but not forgetten, are the dozens upon dozens of healthcare workers who have participated kindly, carefully, thoughtfully, intelligently, successfully, and professionally in my care.
I wrote the above a long time ago and I can honestly only add continuing good care to my laundry list of favorable experiences with the Veterans Administration Southern Nevada Healthcare System. I am more than satisfied with they care I have received at the VA. The people are responsible for all that is good about the VA.

I have been trying to reach someone at the Henderson office for an appointment for a week now. Keep being put on hold for over half an hour, then someone from the regional office answers and transfers you to another number where you are put on hold again for half an hour. No way to get a person to answer and make an appointment. When I went to the actual office, no one was available to help me and I was told to call and make an appointment. This is no way to treat your Veterans. I'm very disappointed.

They say they are open until 5:15pm. Well, that’s only for appointments. They DO NOT say that the lab closes at 3pm. So, I bust my Fanny to get there before 5:15. I ask, can I get a blood draw? β€œSir,” a young woman tells me…”the lab closes at 3pm.” Like…only idiots don’t know that. I was in the Navy. Sailors do not like to be addressed as β€œSir.” That’s for officers only. So…who’s the idiot now? And not only β€œSir,” but in a condescending and patronizing manner that should be never be used. Their information MUST be changed to reflect the 3pm lab closing time. I wasted my time and was treated very rudely.

Just a word of the wise, when I first started with this clinic a couple years ago everything seemed to be going great. Then as doctors left I ended up with one Dr. Caroline DeLuca. An encounter that I am still trying to straightened out. She intentionally lied on my patient notes per our patient visit. I ended up getting most of it overturned via a letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of General Counsel. This I found in My Health Vet page after our visit. Although, I filed complaints with everyone locally about the out right lies. I had to file a formal complaint with Washington D.C with a formal investigation. Although. Vegas VA was directed to reverse comments of lies I have been fighting with other doctors over these lies. There is absolutely no reason for a doctor to lie about anything as well as a patient. And to have local VA stand by her side till a formal legal investigation does not say we support our vets.

The quality of care at the Henderson VA clinic couldn't be any worse. I just moved to the area and saw NP Fanco. I told her I needed CPAP supplies, after getting bad information from her and taking 3 trips to the prosthetic department at the VA hospital on the North side of town I was finally able to get my CPAP supplies after spending over 7 hours and 3 trips in 2 weeks to do so. I also requested a form my landlord needed for my service animal, so she sent me to see Cynthia Garcia a LMSW who filled out the form and signed it. Bare in mind the dog is a registered service animal, the landlord decided he wanted on his own from and Cynthia informed she wouldn't sign the other forms because she said it needed to be signed by a medical person, and then told me NP Fanco wouldn't sign it. This most likely is going to cost me my place of residence. I will be going to request a new medical provider outside of the VA.

Since Dr. Stephen Billmeyer joined the Veterans facility in Henderson on South Boulder Highway, I have received excellent care. He is a great Doctor and was patient enough to answer all my questions and was patient enough that when I did not understand something, he would stop and explain what it was I did not understand. His through consultation led me to get diagnosed with a problem I had been living with for many years, without knowing the cause of my problem, which was life threatening. He ordered some studies that got the results I needed to live a healthier life. I am thankful to Dr. Billmeyer for his through and professionalism and live a better life because of him. I have come to the conclusion that the VA had been overwhelmed in the past but they are improving and I am grateful for the care the VA provides. I am always greeted with friendly faces and comments and I am always thanked for my service. When I go to this clinic, I feel confident that my issues will be addressed by a friendly, caring staff and even when they are extremely busy, the wait times are reasonable and I'm treated with respect. I've been going to various VA medical centers since coming to Las Vegas in 1996. 99 percent of my care has been EXCELLENT. Yes, there are occasional morons that you have to deal with, but thankfully not very many. Now that the VA HOSPITAL is open , these other VA clinics are just for specialty appointments - NO EMERGENCY SERVICES.

Remember folks you're dealing with an organization that is giving care to thousands of people, many at no charge to them. You want "free" medical care, then be prepared to WAIT. It's that simple.

Staff and Security are criminally negligent, discriminatory, racist and exhibit malfeasance in every possible way. Severely service disabled elderly are verbally abused and harrassed by poor trained security and a medical staff that would rather you die or leave than simply be compassionate from the moment you walk in the door for a critical appointment, the attitude of VA Clinic Staff is adversarial. They are criminally ignorant of disability laws of a protected class and the service animal rights a disabled veteran has. They simply don't know and don't care!! Complete waste of our efforts and taxpayers' money. We NEVER got served by a medical professional! But they all still got PAID! Absolutely DISGUSTING Clinic! Asked for a Manager/Director in Charge and was Denied. VA Southeast Clinic Staff refused to assist our requests and demanded we leave. Name request of Clinic Director was Denied. This is just another VA Fraud of Veteran Care. CAVEAT EMPTOR!

No Emergency Services are offered at any of the VA Clinic's. If you have a medical emergency call 911 or go to the VA Hospital Emergency Room. If you find yourself in a local hospital ask for the VA representative within 24 hours of admittance every hospital has one they can arrange to have you transferred to a VA facility after being stabilized. That being said many Primary Care Providers and Mental Health workers at many of the clinics have set walk in policies check with your provider to see what's available on walk-in basis, many mental health providers have set walking days. Be patient you will have to wait but you will be seen. Stay Sharp ask questions but most of all keep your cool you will get through this.

My doctor asked me several times the same exact question. I feel like he should probably be at the retirement stage.

awesome facilities, but hmmm facilities arent worthwhile if no Doctors to man the facilities. pay is about half of the going rate in the area so why would a dr work here? they wouldn't unless they really really care or are no good.

If I could give this place no stars I would. First of all how do you talk to a psychiatrist about having PTSD because of being Iraq and he tells you everyone has issues. He has never been in the military! How can he tell someone what to do when he has never served or been there. And then asked him about getting a service dog he said, " dogs are a mental cruch they are only for people that need them physically." What a joke! And he suggested pills.... Shocker. Oh and if you have problems with crowds he said, " stay there and deal with it."
