What has our health system come to? I waited two months for an appointment, only to have it canceled and pushed another two months out. When you finally get seen, the doctor looks at you without treating you like a human being, dismissing legitimate symptoms as if they don’t matter. The only people who consistently show any professionalism or compassion are the techs and nurses.

At my last appointment, I was fifteen minutes late and was denied service entirely. No understanding, no flexibility, nothing.

Do yourself a favor and find a doctor who will actually treat you with respect and listen to you like a human being.

I brought my 85-year-old father-in-law to his 10:45 AM appointment today. We arrived at the building at 10:40 AM, but mistakenly went to the wrong floor first. By the time we reached the correct suite, it was 10:53 AM, just eight minutes late.

To my shock, the front desk immediately told us we had missed the five-minute grace period and would have to reschedule. No understanding, no compassion, no consideration for the fact that my father-in-law is elderly and walks very slowly. We live on the other side of town, and I had to take time off work to get him here.

What makes this even more frustrating is that during previous visits, we’ve sat in the waiting room for 20+ minutes past our appointment time without complaint. But today, being 8 minutes late meant an automatic reschedule, no exceptions.

For a geriatric clinic, I expected patience and empathy for elderly patients who may need extra time to navigate parking, elevators, and walking. Instead, we were treated with rigidity and zero understanding.

Management seriously needs to reconsider this strict five-minute policy and train staff to handle these situations with basic compassion. Turning away an 85-year-old man for being a few minutes late, while routinely keeping patients waiting, is unacceptable and inhumane.

I will be considering alternative clinics that truly care about their patients.

This is unfortunate day. I got to my appointment at 10:37 and was told it was a "strick 5 minute grace period " 2 minutes. Yes I own the accountability for being late, I live 45 minutes from the office. And I wasnt aware that my physician was still at the LaCanada Office. I even asked if she had a cancellation, i was told I would have to wait around and it wasnt guaranteed. Patient Service! Smh

Emergency referred over 10 days ago. The staff keep telling me it takes 4 days. We'll it's been 10. Git a hard copy of referral and they still won't schedule. I don't think I've ever dealt with people like this that truly do not care and just keep telling me wait. I'm Emergency referral and they simply DO NOT CARE. Each receptionist more uneducated than the next. Easy to just get rid of people that way. Not sure what Emergency referral means to everyone else 2 faxes 3 calls 1 er visit for a 53 year old single mother waiting with abnormal ekg's and pain. If you're looking for help DO NOT TRY TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THESE PEOPLE

Almost killed me.

Started with this ultrasound technician girl who was sobbing 'i cant see it, i cant see it.' While doing an heart ultrasound.

Then i get the stress test on the treadmill with the ay blades and one of the guys says i was wheezing and does an injection of exercise or whatever.

Some how they missed multiple valves that were going to need stents.

Viola. Six months later im in the Er getting stents.

Never trust anyone who is too casual about your care. Or any technician who acts all crazy while doing an ultrasound.

He is a humble smart dr.

The Green Valley office near St. Rose is closer to my home so I'm seeing Dr Ip now. The office staff are very kind and helpful. I didn't have a long wait. The Dr was nice and seemed to understand what is going on with my heart. In June I had to go to urgent care. I was told to see my cardiologist in two weeks but no one could see me for 6 weeks. That is a concern but I didn't have chest pain or I would have gone back to urgent care.

Doctors and PA are amazing and listen. However twice I have shown up only to be told for one reason or another that I can't be seen. No prior phone calls or notifications. Having to take off work for appointments or try and get into doctors that are busy, does not make wasting time and money any easier. This is poor practice.

I just moved here from Iowa and starting over with everything especially a new Dr has been stressful and a complete nightmare til I called here today. I haven't been seen yet but the kindness shown and effort made to get me in soon meant EVERYTHING..I genuinely felt cared about from the second they answered the phone which just reinforced the many amazing reviews which helped me choose this location to begin with. I took my mother here because she had an anomaly on her pre-op EKG. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. We were called to the exam room earlier than our appointment, and Dr. Hsu arrived very shortly after vitals were taken. Dr. Hsu was amazing, asking questions of both of us, and explaining in plain language what was found on the most recent and the two-year old EKGs. He reassured us and made us feel very comfortable. I highly recommend this practice, and Dr. Hsu in particular.

My cardiologist is now with INTERMOUNTAIN & this was my first visit to the Green Valley location. Everyone from the appointment setting to the office check-in was very professional& friendly. My appointment was β€œon time” even though the waiting room was full of patients being checked in. They are an extremely busy practice as it took me almost 2 months to get my appointment.. to me that means the doctors are really good ! The offices are beautiful, spotless & the mask policy is still in effect. It’s an easy location to find & there is plenty of parking available.

upon entering the door and went direct to the front counter, I was greeted with a smile and courteously asked for my name. I felt at home.
In just a few minutes ( this is very rare in other offices) a lady staff called me as " Mr Aguas" and not my first name as usually done in other offices.
She greeted me with a smile, and politely guided me to the weighing scale and to examination room.
She was polite and courteous which made me so relaxed and at ease.
In a few minutes, my cardiologist, Dr Lindley Avina, came and
smiling greeted me with enthusiasm.
I became so opened in conversing with her.
The way she talked to me as if we have known each other for a long time.
I felt so relaxed with my cardiologist.

Though my appointments are normally at the Siena Heights Dr. in Henderson, I was very pleased that the La Canada office was able to offer me this emergency appointment.
Unfortunately, after my vitals were taken, I was left in the exam room for an hour before a nurse entered the room to inform me that they did not realize that I was still waiting to be seen. My cardiologist had already left and the office was closed. Should that nurese had not noticed that I was still waiting in the exam room, it is likely that I would have been locked in, as the office would have been armed. The nurse exited the building while I was still in the parking lot getting into the car. It took much effort for me at my age and in my condition to take a 20 plus mile drive from home to my appointment. Unfortunte, but an honest mistake.

I am pleased with my cardiac team. The office is nice and the staff is welcoming. Dr. Schaller is an attentive listener and maintained eye contact with me (not his computer) while we talked. Intermountain Healthcare is proving to be an excellent choice πŸ‘ŒπŸ½ for me!

I can say, specifically, Dr. Avina is the reason I go to Intermountain Healthcare. She’s been my cardiologist for about 4 years now. Recently learned that she isn’t really at the Summerlin office anymore which was disappointing bc I live about 10 minutes away from that office. But I could care less about the drive all the way to Henderson when she’s such a great doctor. She takes her time and answers all my questions. She doesn’t make me feel rushed like other doctors have. Lots of doctors are always β€œwalk in, greet you, speak to you for 2 minutes, walk out.” And then they get paid however much for those two minutes. So long story short, see Dr. Avina if you want to see a great cardiologist.
