Dr. Liu is top notch. Let me express 1st and foremost how grateful I am to have access to him and his team. Thank you Team Liu for an amazing result on a distel bicep tendon rupture surgery.

It's been a hard recovery only because it was a hard impact and damaging injury. However, my recovery seems to be much faster than most that I have spoken to and heavily researched. Let me explain in some details below.

I took a very hard fall racing downhill on the slopes of a ski resort. I have been an avid snowshoer, mountaineer, climber and snowboarder for many many years, however, slips and falls are just a part of the adventure, yet few and far between however still a part of it. I had two options during this 30 mph impact, either try to stop before hitting a downed skier or brace for impact with the newb. I chose to avoid impacting him at all cost and in doing so I carved out and placed my hand in the snow for more leverage. In doing so I heard a snap and a hard pop. My arm was useless and I was in a lot of pain. I made a sling off my bib shoulder strap and neck gaiter, boarded off the mountain and drove myself home and then to the hospital after a lot of persuasion from my wife and son. Not much the hospital could do accept take much of my time and money. I was referred to AOSM. I also used them last year for a knee and foot injury.

Dr. Liu's team and PA were incredible. Once diagnosed and MRI was complete, it only took a week or so for surgery. I was given great details of the surgery and quickly booked for their immaculate surgery center. The team was gentle, kind, soft spoken (key when under stress) and diligent. I enjoyed the short talks with the staff and the anesthesiologist was exceptional as well. I was quickly taken back after being prepped and immediately worked on. They made me feel safe and secure as I have never had surgery before while asleep. I woke up to find I was wrapped and well cared for. The pain was intense however, but they fixed me right up.

This is not normal however, my incision was fully healed in 11 days. The recovery is very hard at 1st and alot of pain to follow and discomfort due to the intense nature of the injury and now surgery. It required drilling, sewing of the tendon and a button to hold the tendon/stitching in place inside the bone. The nights for the 1st few days was brutal however, I had a perfectly healed small scar at day 11 eleven. I take high grade no filler supplements/vitamins and collagen on a normal basis. I also utilized hot baths and hotsprings pools to heal and stretch once my incision was fully healed. I am 5 weeks in and now almost fully extend my arm. I can do very light duty tasks with my arm such as holding a cup of coffee. I am back to trail running but have a ways to go before I can add any significant weight the arm for gym style exercises.

I am 47 years old, 5'7 and 165lb. I did lose a lot of mass in my bicep and shoulder and still can not flex the bicep with significance. I am struggling in a big way with sleep as I am a stomach sleeper and still find my arm throbbing at night with some real intensity. May ask for a sleep aid or muscle relaxer as as waking up every hour or two is bad. That's been my biggest challenge.

As of the the DOC's work, he was exceptional and the surgery side of the experience is as good as it can get in my opinion. It went perfectly. The recovering is long and hard but I seem to be a month or so ahead of those in my same shoes at one point.

Trust Dr. Liu and his his amazing P.A. and team for the skills, the gentle care and their help they will and can offer you. It's the gold standard for sure.

2 weeks post-op: rotator cuff surgery to repair a full tear. Stitches removed, X-rays look good, have 120 degrees add/abd and 30 degrees rotation, and about to start PT. Feeling VERY confident in my recovery and Dr. Liu is highly rated for a reason…he’s simply fantastic!! ….AND The staff is amazingly courteous & helpful. Dr Liu performed a shoulder replacement on me March 2025. He is the best surgeon I’ve encountered in recent years! (My father was an orthopedic surgeon in LA, and sadly, I suffer with ankylosing spondylitis, so I speak with lots of experience) I went through 2 prior attempts of surgical repairs in CA that failed within weeks post op.

I recently underwent a total knee replacement with Dr Liu as my surgeon. I have had severe bone-on-bone in both knees for years. Dr Liu and his staff have been treating me for pain as I struggled with the prospect of surgery and also not being able to care for my husband, even temporarily, who suffers from a brain disease. $65 co-pay along with insurance for the Dr to come in for 3 min, tell me nothing I didn't already know, and then rush out to the next patient as fast as possible.

Didn't do any movements, didn't give me a professional opinion or preliminary diagnosis - the reason you are paying them in the first place. Just gave me a piece of paper to go pay out of pocket for an MRI. Because it was either that or 6 weeks of physical therapy allegedly.

Ordered an x-ray at their office just for the Dr to come in and essentially say that the x-ray wouldn't have shown anything for my type of injury anyway. So why order it then?

When she left to get the MRI paper, I figured she would come back. When her assistant came back instead, I started asking him questions. He didn't know the answer and said that she was already seeing another patient, so I should go ask a physical therapist about my questions. But isn't the reason I paid you was to get answers to the questions I have about my injured shoulder? I feel like my money was easily taken (and my insurance's) but wasn't really given adequate attention or care.

Dr. Liu is a great doctor. I had my shoulder replaced and it was a great experience. Then my knee got really bad so we tried everything to avoid surgery. But I had to have it replaced.We discussed the possibility of something going wrong he said 10%have problems. I found out that I was the small percentage! Reception are nice and efficient. I was seen at my appointment time. Although the lady I think assistant was very good and nice and took time to listen to me, I was not expecting that It would not be Dr Liu to see me. Ad a new patient and as I personally went there for him to treat me, it was disappointing to not be seen by him. I even told the one who made the appointment that I want to see Dr. Liu and not an assistant.

I had a reverse right total shoulder surgery done by Dr Liu in January 2022…. So far the surgery went well and I have very minute pain in the night only …so far so good. But I am disappointed that he did not check on me the day after my surgery and had left no after-care written instructions especially for the physical therapist. Only his PA came to check on me. No doubt he is good surgeon, I felt he is a bit short on bedside manners after the surgery.

I have to update my review as I have now had a full shoulder replacement on my other shoulder. I had heard shoulder replacement was the most difficult of all & was quite!apprehensive about the procedure. Aside from the first night in the hospital when the pain block wore off, pain was minimal and entirely bearable. I used the ice machine Dr. Liu ordered full time for 2 weeks and had absolutely no swellng or bruising. I went out to dinner 3 nights after surgery. While not able to drive for 5 or 6 weeks, I was back at full activities after about 2 weeks though no lifting. PT was great at Tim Soder's but even they were amazed at my quick recovery. The home PT people were askng who did my surgery as they wanted to be able to recommend Dr. Liu, too! I have since recommended Dr. Liu to anyone who has ortho problems with shoulders. He's just great.

Dr. Liu has operated on my shoulder and is currently treating me for arthritic knees. The shoulder surgery was fabulously successful. I didn't have a lot of pain after surgery and followed Dr's orders. Three friends and I all had nearly the same surgery about the same time. All three had follow up complications, two leading to second surgeries. I sailed through and don't even suffer a twinge in that shoulder.

My knees are getting progressively worse and Dr. Liu, despite being a surgeon, is very supportive of my efforts NOT to have surgery. He is helping me explore all options.

I highly recommend sports medicine doctors ad their focus is getting you ready for the next game vs cutting. Dr. Liu's care and attention is among the best in my opinion.

And, I have to note his office is extremely efficient. Phone calls are returned and I see the Dr. within 30 minutes of my appointment time. Referrals don't require a million follow up calls.

If you HAVE to see an orthopedist, I highly recommend Dr. Liu.

Dr. Liu has been my husband’s orthopedic surgeon for many years. My husband thought he needed a knee replacement. Dr. Liu listens intently & questions carefully. I had a soccer accident where I tore my ACL and went to see Dr. Liu, he told me I had a torn ACL and had me get an MRI which confirmed a ACL tear.
I had my surgery on the 01/10/2020, my family and myself are very happy with Dr. Liu and his staff pre op and post op.
They made sure I was doing doing before I left the surgery center. Had my follow up on 01/20/2020 and again the staff and the Dr. Were more then amazing. His staff is extremely caring.

I was referred to Dr Liu by my Primary Care Physician who I love. When I arrived at the clinic I first found out the paperwork I filled out did not go through so I had to do it again. I was kept waiting in the exam room for an hour past my appt. The office was not busy in the waiting room. When the Dr. Came in he offered me no apology or explanation for the wait. After it was decided I would get a cortisone shot he left the exam room and after another 10 minute wait I left the office. I was not comfortable to be given such an invasive shot by him or potentially a surgery that I may need in the future. The office staff were very nice. Extra special perfect visit. After two total knee replacements exactly 4 years apart, Dr. Liu personally sent me on my merry way.....cured of pain, able to walk and talk and chew gum all at the same time! The only thing that I can say good about using this facility was that the office staff was really nice. My daughter had a really bad swollen knee after MRI which showed torn meniscus brought her to Dr. Liu, his intern confirmed what the MRI stated, He then came in said no its not that spent 2 minutes with us before wanting to give her a cortisone shot and scheduling her for surgery. The shot did not work and she did end up having surgery 2 weeks later. After surgery we were informed to sit at a table to wait for the doctor to come talk to us after her surgery. My husband and I sat there for 45 minutes waiting. A nurse came out to have us go back with our daughter my husband sat at that table for another hour waiting while i went back to our daughter. After that my husband came back and we spent another 2 hours waiting for him so we can take our daughter home. Instead of coming to talk to us he did other surgeries while we waited. When he finally showed up he spent maybe a minute with us said he would talk to us when she has her follow up. We ended up with a follow up with his PA never saw him again. My daughter is still having issues with her knee 6 months after surgery.

I had both knees replaced in the last year. Dr Liu and staff are excellent. I had a complete recovery from surgery and am back to doing my outdoor activities. I have used Dr Liu the last 3 years to repair both meniscus in my left knee and 6 months ago to do a very difficult surgery on my left upper arm/shoulder due to a very bad break of my humorous. I heard so many wonderful things about Dr. Liu.
I brought a report from a CT scan saying I possibly had necrotic tissue in my shoulder and wanted to be sure about it, and if so, what kind of treatment I might need.
After the normal waiting time in the waiting room I was escorted to the exam room. After giving my information to a very nice assistant, Dr. Liu entered the room.
He told me I was okay and the scan just showed a past broken shoulder. I told him I could hardly raise or use that arm because the pain was so intense.
He then said that when you get older, all old injuries begin to hurt. I said that the pain was more than tolerable at times. He basically repeated himself and after a minute, left the room.
So I am still in pain. I am glad my shoulder isn't necrotic, but that doesn't fix the pain. He was so very disinterested. I wish he had offered something, a treatment, a product, etc to help with the pain. But I was there for an opinion of the CT scan, so I guess his job was done. I was disappointed.

I had surgery for a torn rotator cuff, in Dr. Liu's words, more of a reconstruction than a repair. He worked magic! Everyone I talked to said this is the most painful surgery they had ever had. I absolutely did not have that experience. Minimal pain, I only took 3 pain pills, the first 3 nights, and mainly to help me sleep. 5 months after surgery, and lots of physical therapy, my shoulder is almost back to 100%. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Liu, and everyone I have dealt with at Advanced Orthopedics has been absolutely amazing. Thank you all for all you do!

Great bedside manner. Fantastic surgeon. Dr. Liu just release me from my right shoulder surgery today, and I’m doing great!! I thought while I was in there I would have him look at my right knee as well, and he did; so wonderful! He did an X-ray, found a little fluid and a bit of inflammation, got his PA, Tom, whom by the way, is the sweetest and has the most gentle hands when it comes to needles, YAY! One of the best orthopedic doctors in Las Vegas. He does things to the best interest of the patient even if it’s going to hurt later. While I was under he put my knee that was in a cast for a week and already had lost ROM in full range and gave me a shorter cast for less recovery time. Don’t get me wrong surgery is painful but rehabing for months and month becasue your knee is frozen is worse. I had the best staff experience as well they were on top of my insurance the whole time so I needed to not worry. Some of his staff has been with him for years as well which tells you that they like working for him. Thank you so much for pinning my lower leg back together!

Dr. Liu did a right knee replacement on me on November 30,2021. I’ve had nothing but trouble since, and he could care less! His exact words were, “Well, I’ve done everything for you that I can.” Then he left the room and told his assistant to refer me elsewhere. The “elsewhere” was to a doctor who does not accept my insurance. Two more failed referrals had me researching surgeons who accept my insurance and I had to get my PCP to make the referral. Dr. Lui never bothered to check on me to see how I was doing. It’s now August, 2022. The new surgeon was horrified by the state of my knee and refused to touch it! I am now waiting for a referral to UC San Diego because I’ve run out of potential surgeons in Vegas who can fix this botched job!

After a year of pain walking on a leg with a valgus knee (bending inward 45 degrees) and getting no resolution to the problem, I found a surgeon who was able to do a second total knee replacement in August of 2019.
