Was referred here after being seen in urgent care. Delt with issues getting the appointment when this office was called by the referral department. I ended up calling my myself and finalizing the appointment made by the referral department. Gave them all of my information and had an appointment set. Left work early to make the appointment only to walk in and be told they didn’t actually save my appointment and the doctor needed to leave so I wouldn’t be seen. So frustrating and I will absolutely not be making an additional appointment when you can’t respect someone else time or even “save” appointments properly.

Diabetes has taken a toll on my feet. Over the past 8 years, I haven't a single day were i wasn't walking around without a wound on my feet until I found Dr. Wittenberg. It seems like my other Podiatrists were just treating my wounds, Dr. Wittenberg is constantly finding the reason causing the wounds and treating that. It was so nice walking around with two healthy feet for the first time since 2018.

I have been a patient of Dr Wittenberg for a few years now. I searched for months to find a podiatrist that I felt comfortable with and trusted to take care of me. I only have wonderful things to say about Ft Apache from signing in with Jose at the front who is always kind and attentive to seeing the doctor who schedules his patients properly so there is time to spend caring for each patient. Always willing to listen and explain what’s going on with my issues. He’s a kind soul, awesome doctor and surgeon. Very frustrating billing experience at this office. I've gone here twice, once as a cash pay patient and again with insurance. Cash pay was quick, simple, easy. With insurance, I was billed $60 for each visit (2 total) with the second visit literally lasting 20 seconds with the doctor for him to just to look at my toe and say "all good". After my treatment, I think I'm settled with my copays, then a surprise bill hits my mailbox for $181.88, not itemized or explained at all. Additionally, it said the bill was 120+ days past due, even though this was the first I was ever contacted about it; no phone call, email, or prior snail mail. To get more information about the bill you have to call a third party which has limited days of availability. Finally, once I received an explanation and itemized bill I have to call the office to make payment. "Sorry the doctor and staff aren't in the office, can I take a message for a call-back?". Answering service multiple times throughout the day, and no callback. I'm trying to give them money and they can't even call me back.
As far as the clinical experience, fine enough I suppose, which is bare minimum. My ingrown toenail still grew back even though it was the permanent treatment.
My recommendation: try another podiatry office.

Worst doctor experience I’ve ever had.

The doctor was rude, dismissive, and ultimately incompetent. I came in with a prior diagnosis, which he flat-out didn’t believe. Instead, he charged me for an injection that did absolutely nothing.

He told me to buy a “special” orthopedic insert, claiming it was made specifically for my case. Later, I realized it was a generic insert commonly sold in places like Santee Alley—definitely not customized and completely ineffective.

He also suggested I buy a chili-based ointment from Amazon as a remedy. I chose not to, explaining that I have a dog and was concerned it could harm her eyes. After that, he implied he couldn’t help me because I wasn’t following his instructions—simply because I didn’t buy chili oil. At that point, I honestly felt like I might as well see an herbalist and save myself the $500.

I have a severe case of CRPS. After being diagnosed by multiple doctors, he told me it was “hard to diagnose” and that I didn’t fit other categories, which was his excuse for giving me a treatment that failed. Today, he suddenly changed his story and said, “Well, maybe you do have it.”

Completely unprofessional, inconsistent, and a waste of time and money. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.

My boyfriend went in for an appointment and the front desk was fine, nothing special. But once he got to the back, his phone rang and he politely said, “Give me one second, I might have to take this — it could be an emergency.” Instead of being professional, the doctor got angry and snapped at him, saying, “You can’t be on your phone, this is my work,” in a disrespectful tone.

My boyfriend explained that he might be dealing with an emergency, and the doctor responded, “Who has an emergency this early in the morning?” Then told him to just cancel his appointment and walked out.

He drove across town for that appointment, just to be disrespected and dismissed like that. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional. If you care about being treated with basic respect, don’t waste your time at this place.

I saw Dr. Wittenberg for plantar fasciitis and a neuroma about 3 weeks ago. I mentioned that I was going to be traveling to New York City to help take my niece back to school , and my niece was going to cram everything we wanted to do in the 1 day we were there. Dr. Wittenberg did 2 injections in my right foot. I was a bit squeamish, but he did a great job. He also recommended a particular shoe for me. I did great in NYC! We walked through Central Park, the Met, WTC memorial, and then walked across the Brooklyn Bridge back to the hotel. I logged over 25,500 steps with no foot pain! Dr. Wittenberg saved my vacation!

Dr. “ W “ became irate when he saw that my mother's bandage had been removed ( by a medical professional ) for a heart catheter procedure. The Dr. did not bother to ask and refused to listen to any explanation and kicked us out of his office! My mother is a diabetic, and cancer survivor as well as the blockage of her arteries. It had been weeks since the bandage applied because his office cancelled her previous appt. Unacceptable behavior by a “professional “. I can't imagine why, after I told him that she has no circulation in her legs, they would put the bandage so tight that her toes turned purple! Regardless of that, to abandon this old lady on the exam table and then not even send any office staff to assist her out was completely unprofessional behavior.

When I called to make a appointment the receptionist was nice and got me in quick. I had my appointment today and it went great. I didn't have to wait so long and I like the fact that you can print the forms out at home and fill them out and just bring them in. I had maybe a minute wait time or less which was great. Then Jose the assistant came in and said Dr would be in shortly. He came in right away and took great care of me and educated me about my feet and what I had. He is a very honest and straightforward Dr which I liked. I highly recommend Dr Lee to anyone that has foot problems

I saw 3 other doctors that were “specialists” regarding my ankle before stumbling upon Dr. Wittenberg on google. I’m so glad I went to him because he was so attentive, nice and professional. His office staff, Rachel and Jose are also so nice! I called a million times for a million different things and was always helped out with a kind attitude! I really thought I was going to lose the bottom half of my leg but Dr. Wittenberg assured me that everything would be fine. A few stitches later, I’m totally fine now, I have no discomfort and I feel like I have my life back instead of limping everywhere like a newborn deer. If you choose to use this doctor, make sure you ASK ABOUT ALL COSTS AND CHARGES! I just received a bill for charges that are a total surprise and quite frankly ridiculous! Doctor gave me a brace to "see if it will help" and for this fabric velcro brace i was charged 72.00. Had i bn told upon check out that's how much i would be charged for that brace i would hv said "no thank you" and gone to the medical store and got one for 20 bucks! If you choose to by orthotics, just know that you will be charged 90.00 for (as i was told by billing) materials to make the orthotic. There was no "materials" used. "Helper" used a scanning type procedure. How dare they charge 90.00 to scan my feet for "a fitting"! As if the 450.00 that's charged isn't enough. That my insurance would not cover. Costs for items and services certainly aren't forthcoming! Make sure you ask questions!

Do not visit this medical practice. This was my first visit to see Dr. Wittenberg. My appointment was scheduled for 1pm. I arrived at 12:55 pm and was told by a very rude male receptionist that I should have arrived early to complete the new patient forms (I was not advised of this when I made the appointment nor on the reminder phone message). He then informed me that my appointment would have to be rescheduled because I was late. I was shocked. He further explained that the doctor had an emergency. The doctor then appeared from the back office and was also very rude to me and started arguing with me that he had an emergency and that if I was going to be late he couldn't see me. He also assured me that he listens in on his receptionists conversations and they always ask new patients to be early. I told him I was not at anytime told to be early and that this was horrible service. I am shocked that a doctor would behave in a blatantly disrespectful and unprofessional manner and be rude to a patient in a public reception area.

Strangest end to an appointment ever. It started by being seen 40mins late, but that happens. This was my second time at this office and both times the staff was impersonal and non-cordial, but that too happens. The appt was going fine until the end when I started asking questions about my diagnosis and projected restrictions. They were questions like "can I play softball" or "can I ride a stationary bike." The Dr made a pretty typical comment to the extent of "you can do what you want or take the advice of someone with 16 years of experience," to which I jokingly replied "when does that guy get here?" Dr closed up his laptop, said "you insult me," and walked out of the room. Everything seemed totally fine and then it was like he snapped from a long day. There was no argument, no raised voices, just a hyper-sensitive Dr to what was obviously a joke remark. Really left me shocked...and pissed that I had wasted all that time with an incomplete diagnosis/treatment plan. Now I need a new Dr.
