Dr. Herrero is a great. Like all great Doctors he seems really busy and it takes some time to get appointments. However, the wait is always worth it as he is very professional, listens and you feel confidence in his advice. Staff is very efficient and the wait times when you get to your appointment are very reasonable. My wife and I both go to him and we are very satisfied and would highly recommend Dr. Herrero.

Dr Herrero is fantastic. I would recommend , only downfall is I have officially had called 12 times with 4 answering service messages and no calls back and have a major issue. Which I m having to find another office that has a better front office for patient care. Sucks because I love this Dr as he is fantastic.. but with medical in Vegas it seems the front office is the same in most places ..

Update: I did get a couple call backs but was on a work trip, I tried calling again numerous of times and an answering service message twice but no calls back?

Update: I have called daily still and nothing. I have called the appointment line twice now as well and left a message and no return call back? what is going on?

Probably the worst doctor I’ve seen in my life. I waited 4 months to see him and he completely rushed me and he spent literally 3-4 minutes with me before demanding that I get knocked out with anesthesia for a full blown endoscopy. He didn’t listen to me or find out what was causing this acid reflux. This is exactly what we call a bad doctor that only wants $$ money to do surgeries and procedures.
I will NEVER return to him - he sucks and should lose his license. Go elsewhere!

Anyone who is afraid of going to a doctor especially one in Gastroenterology should never be afraid of going to Dr.Herrero !!
He and his staff will make sure you are safe and comfortable and that you are getting the best care possible !!

Dr Herrera did a great job very professional and highly recommend his service if you need to check your stomach. I ended up having some allergies but thought I had some major gallbladder problems all I had to do was drink more water and Super Lucky nothing was wrong👍.

Dr. Herrero is amazing! I am so happy I found him for my doctor. He is very thorough and proactive. He immediately identified my problem over a year ago. My husband was impressed with his professionalism and knowledge so he also went to Dr. Herrero and again, Dr. Herrero immediately knew the problem, and this was after two other GI doctors in the valley that couldn’t help him for any relief what so ever for 8 years. Dr. Herrero restored my husband’s digestive health. Six months later I ended up seeing Dr. Herrero again and had to have a procedure done. His staff set it up very professionally and were so very nice and explained everything to me that that I needed to do prior the procedure. I ended up having surgery during the procedure and Dr. Herrero literally saved my life. Many thanks to him to his quick response and knowledge. Dr. Herrero explains things to us so we can understand and know what to expect. He is very personable too. He listens to you and acknowledges when he understands what you are relating to him. Jonathan his nurse is very personable and knowledgeable too. He puts you at ease just as Dr. Herrero does. The front desk is always friendly. Highly recommend Dr. Herrero and his practice. From the day I made an appointment to the day that I saw Dr Carmelo Herrero it was a smooth time. The front desk was very friendly. The person I had call me back was very kind, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable. Don't know what it is about doctor offices out here and making patients wait for so long.
I sat there an hour and watched people who came in well after me get called first. I watched another person walk out because they were there too long.
Asked the MA at the desk to reschedule and they acted like they didn't understand.
I see all the comments about the doctor being amazing. That's cool and all but the wait time is a bit ridiculous. If I showed up late to an appointment, they'd charge me and I'd lose my appointment. 😐

So I had my appointment with this doctor for a few weeks and I had to actually take the day off from work to see him. Then the morning of my appointment, I get a call from a female staff member informing me that doctor had to reschedule due to an emergency. I was so upset because my employer wouldn't allow me to take hours off for schedule so I lost a hole days pay for this appointment which I now cannot go, not even to a secondary doctor as backup. I asked why wasn't I informed before, she said "like I said, it was an emergency in a rude manor". She asked what days are available and I said weekends or after 5pm due to work. She said sorry were not available during this periods as closed. She said to ask my employer 2 weeks In advance for another day off. I called her back for another question and they don't even answer their calls. What's the point, so they can cancel on me last minute because they can? I'm better off finding another that seem to care more.

I would just like to say that Dr. Herrera is a very good doctor when you can get in to see him! Last year while I was on vacation I was put in the local hospital for 24 hours because of severe dehydration. I spent a whole month before the vacation trying to see him before I went. Never ever received a call back or amy kind of response from his office staff! That's why I was hospitalized! The hospital sent my records to his office. When I came home I tried for 3 months to get in touch with him. They never ever responded.!!! So I used the emergency room for my issues. I ended up having a bowel blockage and needed surgery. For a month before that I tried to see him. So i ended up in the er very sick! I did see a doctor from his office and he seemed surprised His office didn't respond. Really? The hospital tried to ger an appt for me. Didnt happen. Once I was.home I became sick again and I called the mobile doctors. They got me up and going and promised to get Dr. Herraras offic to call me. A week later they did but i actually already had an appt. They accidentally picked up the phone. I have an appt 2 months from then. I plan to keep it. I see I am not the only person who has to deal with the terrible office staff. I think the doctors need to hire a company to train the staff. People are sick and need to see the doctor! Do we need all the grief his office staff gives us?

This Gastroenterologist has the demeaner of a country doctor, never gets in a hurry, makes sure he completely understands the patient, and he then uses his extensive knowledge and experience to find solutions for his patients. His entire staff and facility is clean, efficient, and each receiptionist, scheduler, and Physician's Assistant all treated me like a person not a number. I will always use this office for internal medicine.

Dr Herrero was completely correct about all he had to say about my diagnosis after I explained the symptoms of my reasons for coming in. He said that bowel incontinence is a neurological disorder not a gut problem. The diarrhea is a gut problem. The result of not being able to control loose bowels from evacuating is neurological. The good news is I am able to control a well formed bowel movement. Dr. Herrero advised that a colonoscopy is necessary to determine more info.

My son was having stomach problems for weeks (weight loss, cramping, ect.)
Dr. Herrero came in on a Sunday to perform a colonoscopy. He took the time to call me and inform me of the procedure. Although they would not let anyone in the hospital due to the COVID-19 he took the time to come and speak to me as I awaited outside the hospital. He gave us answers immediately. I am so thankful for him helping my son. He is professional and genuine. He cares about the patient. I highly recommend him without any hesitation.

i waited 2 months for Dr Herrero after a emergency colonoscopy was preformed on me. He crushed me in his office yesterday and made me feel worthless and small in front of my partner, we was extremely unempathetic toward my situation and when i asked for medicine he got super weird and said that specialist don’t recommend you going to pain management your PC which is odd bc my specialist referred me before. I was expressing my concern of working while making time for all the testing he has me doing and how it effects my life and work and i blurted our crying and he was DISGUSTED by me. He barely wanted to fill my medicines. I was just shocked that i was so misunderstood without explanation. He was cold, cut and dry to me yesterday. I left that office in tears. It’s something ill never forget.

left 5 messages to book a procedure. never got a callback. FINALLY was able to talk to someone on 6th call and got it scheduled. They told me to come to the office and get info on procedure. When I got to the office I was told they didnt have the info for me no one had talked to me on the phone ???? and they would email me info. waited 5 days and nothing. I called office and cancelled procedure and found another Dr. Ive never had to deal with a more incompetent office ever.

this is easily the WORST GI i have ever seen. i have been seen by jackie armijo (i don’t know if she’s a nurse or a doctor but either way she’s awful) multiple times. every time i saw her she would be on her computer and ask me the same questions as every time before. she had no concern for my day to day well being and only cared that i was using the bathroom daily. she didn’t care about my pain and never thought of any sort of treatment. i felt that i had to do my own research before every appointment just so i can get my $50 worth. she was the worst doctor/ nurse i’ve ever been to. i have had on going health issues for a year now with not even a clue as to what it could be. if i were you and if you’re doing your research to find the best doctor THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT IT!!! TAKE YOUR NEEDS ELSEWHERE!! NO ONE HERE CARES!!!

Terrible doctor I had a colonoscopy and I almost died went to ER twice I became septic very sick with a fever body ache couldn't even walk because of the pain in my stomach and my back I thought I was going to die Thank God I found a different doctor that gave me 2 different kinds of antibiotics for 2 weeks and finally got bettet. Do yourself a favor stay away from this doctor. I DO NOT RECOMEND HIM TO ANY ONE.

Dr. HERRERO is Great! His office staff, not so much! Dr. Herrero, CVS pharmacy & I have been trying to get ahold of someone for about 3 weeks now to get a new RX after my 6 refills were up, CVS says your office denied the request. Now I'm trying to figure out why and no one ever answers the phone. I have left 4 messages over 2 weeks, with no call back. Tried email, no response.
