How do you put into words someone who truly sees and responds? A physician who doesn't pass concerns to the next person or dismiss them, but instead recognizes when someone is physically in crisis and immediately steps into action.
Before meeting Dr. Cheryl Brewer, I had honestly begun to lose faith in medical professionals here in Las Vegas. Too often, I felt unheard, overlooked, or left feeling as though my concerns could wait for another day. Dr. Brewer changed that.
She saw what was happening, understood the seriousness of my condition, and responded with both urgency and compassion. She didn't minimize my concerns or make me feel as though I was overreacting. Instead, she listened, acted, and made me feel safe.

Dr. Brewer and the entire staff are 5-star professionals. I went to Dr. Brewer to have a cyst removed. Given my age and medical history, she decided a full pelvic exam was warranted with the cyst removal. The ultrasound indicated a thickened endothelial layer, which is a sign of cancer in post menopausal women. Dr. Brewer and all the staff were wonderful - they set me up at Mtn View hospital outpatient surgery with 2 days. Michelle organizes all the offices' surgery & chemo. She spoke with me the evening I received the news and helped me through that difficult time. She is quite a gem. Surgery went well (the hospital staff was wonderful) and it seemed that a large endometrial polyp caused the Radiology reading. Dr. Brewer performed a D & C, scoped my uterus and bladder, and removed the polyp and the cyst. Yesterday I returned, 2 weeks post surgery and Dr. Brewer removed the stitches. I recommend Dr. Brewer without hesitation and advise any post menopausal woman with bleeding to see a gynecologist immediately.

I had very special circumstances that had to be considered and addressed with my care. I'm sorry, but I left very upset after my first visit with Dr. Brewer! At first, the office was running behind, which I understood due to the Dr having surgery earlier & running late. I waited at the office an excessive amount of time afterward, with a few in competent staff in observance and taking patients accidentally before me as I overheard. Young staff out of training school, still training, but do not know anything medical. If you work at an an Oncologist specialty, you need to know medical terms, medical information, proper procedures, the specialty, etc. The absolute worst part was when I was getting my genetic bloodwork test done. The assistant got out gloves and the kit for the doctor then left the room. Dr. Brewer came in with her trainee. Dr. Brewer tied the blue turnicket around my right arm, as I was making a fist for my vein. She opened the butterfly needle with her bare hands, and proceeded to stick me with the needle with absolutely NO GLOVES on still!!!! I said to her "put gloves on"! She continued to draw my blood with no gloves on! Then I get, get her saying "huh, that's the first time I haven't gotten it" she continued to move the needle with her bare hands touching the butterfly part and the needle under my skin, moving it around with her thumb which was dirty under her finger nail! She didn't wash her hands either! She tried to school me about not having to wear gloves as long as your not touching the needle, or the hole where you stuck the needle, etc and going on about gloves have more contaminants, and people with masks tangent, etc. I was a medical professional, I told her you are touching other patients skin too, they could have infections, bacteria, mrsa, many unclean looking people there, etc... And, she's teaching this to her trainee who was not wearing gloves as well, touching everything. She then put my arm down and my blood started flowing. As the doctor was removing my needle, I started to bleed, her trainee put on an alcohol pad, it fell onto the blue seat part I was sitting on that was uncovered with no paper. The trainee picked it up and put it back on my arm that started bleeding. I said that just dropped on the dirty uncovered part of the chair! Dr. Brewer took my blood, the trainee opened a wrong vile to put it in, they took my blood out of the room in the larger syringe to transfer it into another vile. All improper protocols & procedures. I have never been so upset with unprofessional PPE / blood & infection protocols in my life! I worked as a State & Federal employee in the medical field for years and in the ER.

OSHA should be contacted, they are putting people at risk and violating medical ethics and laws. Dr. Brewer's excuses of not wearing gloves for any type of blood draw can turn into serious malpractice if she causes health complications with people. When I saw her she was touching door knobs, picked up her phone during our consultation to talk to her mother, the office didn't look very sanitary overall. She didn't wash her hands before doing my pap smear and just put on the pink gloves. This is nasty and unethical! When your patient tells you to put on gloves for a blood draw who has a serious autoimmune condition Lupus, and you ignore that, there is something wrong with your thinking / ethics as a doctor. I do not trust then going forward if protocols and sanitary conditions would be in place if I had to have surgery or other testing procedures. She may be great at her knowledge of Gynecology Oncology, but her safety practices are terrible and so unsafe. Would you want someone with dry barehands with dirty fingernails who does not wash their hands taking blood from you with no gloves on??!! And not putting them on after you the "patient" tells them too? This just ruined it for me ever coming back!

I can’t get this off of my heart so I wanted to write this before I take a nap 🥳 there was time I had after the surgery where I pondered on these reviews and I thought everyone is praising Dr Brewer but I am the one that has to get this catheter taking out get up and WALK myself to this bathroom so I don’t use it in myself, I am the one that has to learn how to 1. get myself up, 2. get myself out of the bed so I can then 3. walk. Sheesh, everything seemed next level for me. Fears perspective was it hurts, it’s better to lay here than to do what you need to do to get back mobile. But the student in me received a different perspective , I thought yes Dr Brewer is the Surgeon, YES . but I’m now sitting here in a different heart posture. Thinking I am so wonderfully grateful that I was referred to Dr Brewer, To think She’s a surgeon it’s her job , the amount of studying to memorize and then studying to be able to do, the amount of self control to sit in surgery for EX: 6 hours fighting urges maybe to get up, feel exhausted, feel overwhelmed, be wanting to do anything else but to fix your mind on the task at hand and to do an amazing job! I am so grateful. I am so appreciative! I thank you so much for being so helpful! I had a moment where I thought about everything that I did before that I couldn’t that I can soon be able to do again 🤭 crawling around the floor with my baby at playtime, circle time on the floor, jogging , hiit workouts, Step. I am so grateful to get a second chance. When I think that my body has been silently carrying all of this dead weight it makes me so much more appreciative of my body and eager to learn to pour into my body as well as properly love my body and I am so grateful that there is a doctor who does surgery that genuinely cares and understands that you only get 1 body! As much as Dr. Brewer assured me that it’ll be OK, of course I still worried. She’s very thorough, pro-active in her testing and treatments and simply a wonderful compassionate, patient person.
She sure goes the extra mile. I never felt rushed and I felt as if she truly cared about my situation. I would definitely recommend Dr. Brewer to anyone considering this type of specialist. Dr Brewer is by far one of the best providers I have encountered across any medical field. I sought to see her after not feeling happy with the previous oncology office I had visited.

Her extensive experience, and ability to go into depth with her explanations of procedures and treatments with me helped me gain knowledge about my concerns. She took her time to answer all my questions regardless of how small and was to the point, but with care and compassion.

Bedside manor is important to me, and Dr Brewer not only made me feel comfortable, she ensured she was attentive to any pain I may have and was fast and efficient but thorough. She actually told me things about my personal internal composition which I have never been made aware of by previous providers.

Her career connections show in her ability to make a call to try and push results through faster, she does not waste time.

I did extensive research for a good oncologist , with great patient reviews, and one of the major things I consider is not only a doctors qualification, years of practice and bedside manors, but also their office staff. If I don’t get a good vibe, feel as if I matter and my concerns matter, my intuition determines if I proceed with that doctor and their office. I can’t give enough acknowledgment and amazement of Dr. Brewer and her office staff. They have so much patience, professionalism, respect and work ethics that I would recommend Dr. Brewer to any one requests a referral. I have enjoyed every visit, given the circumstances, but I have appreciated all the work they have done for me and for the better of my health and well being. I give them a 10/10! One star is generous. My friend who has extensive cancer was referred to this doctor. Her care is time sensitive. In a month after being texted privately by the referring doctor still never contacted her. Thank god my friend has been referred to the Mayo Clinic. Doctors like this should not have a license. Every life matters. That is your job to care for others. Do not go to this doctor the level of negligence is indefensible.

This doctor is one of the worst I encountered during my indescribable experience at Mountainview hospital. She presents herself as very caring and nurturing in your most vulnerable state, but don't be fooled. If you seek a second opinion or ask too many questions, you will be belittled, disregarded, and disrespected by this person who calls herself a professional. It is such a shame that I thought I could trust in her expertise to get me back to normal after a TRAUMATIC experience delivering my first baby. Over 40 years of surgical experience, and often works with a surgeon who also has over 40 years of surgical experience. If you want to feel safe during your surgery, Dr. Brewer is the GyOnc for you! My first appointment with her was over an hour long, and she answered absolutely any/all questions I had. She even pointed out some concerning looking moles I have & advised I have them looked at. I have a difficult case because I have a lot of rare health issues. Dr. Brewer jumped through hoops to perform surgery on me, and made me feel at ease, every step of the way. She has been respectful to my husband, and is so well liked by fellow Dr’s, and other nurses at a local hospital, they rave about her when I mentioned Dr. Brewer’s name. Not all nurses are treated
well by Drs, but they are with Dr. Brewer! She will actually give you her personal cellphone # so that you can reach her any time. She even rounds on days other surgeons will not. She has vast knowledge on many issues that occur with the human body, and is even privy to information about rare auto-immune diseases, which is hard to come by, let alone in a specialist outside of the disease. I had read reviews before I contacted Dr. Brewer’s office so I knew ahead of time it may be difficult to get through to the office. I braced for this, and yes, even though the office phone may be a bit tricky to get on the line, I would take that any day, just to have the ability to have Dr. Brewer be my GyOnc. Truth be told, I don’t mind waiting for a call back! Dr. Cheryl Brewer is worth it, and it’s no wonder her staff are busy! Everyone wants to go to Dr. Brewer. The office is small/quaint. You aren’t going to be treated like a number on a piece of paper. Her staff are very friendly, and personable.
Even her patients can be heard saying “I love you Dr. Brewer,” when leaving her office. She really is the best, and I have always had my calls returned. Sometimes you just need to call twice, but I’ve never not heard back, and now I actually have Dr. Brewer’s cell. I don’t know if any other Dr that does that, these days, & certainly no other Drs that round on days they don’t have to. Dr. Brewer is also a great advocate for her patients, & makes sure you get tip-top care. I’ve spent much of my life in hospitals, & the hospital I’m staying in to recover from my surgery is beautiful, and staffed with the nicest people I have ever met in a hospital setting. It’s usually rare to find one nice person in a hospital setting, but MountainView takes the cake. The Oncology floor is immaculate, and I have never felt so safe in a hospital. The rooms are big, and quiet. I’ve seen Dr. Brewer every single day since my surgery, and sometimes multiple times a day. She takes her time to answer any questions I may have. Dr. Brewer also schedules you for surgery right away. No waiting around anxiously to see when surgery might be. She even worked hard to track down medical records when other Dr offices were unequipped to handle simple forwarding health records to Brewer’s office. If you want to be in the hands of a brilliant Gynecology Oncologist, Dr. Brewer is the Dr for you! You will not be let down. She will also work hard so that you won’t be in a world of pain post-surgery.

To bad you can not give 0 stars. I do not know if Dr Brewer knows how terrible her staff is, but my wife has called 4 times in one day and no one picks up the phone. There was a recording to leave a message and they would call back. It is now the 2nd day and no return call. I tried to call today and no one picked up and no message. My wife was referred to Dr Brewer because she had uterine cancer and her Dr retirered and she needs to see someone. Good luck if you need to make an appointment at this office!!.

Dr Brewer is a wonderful, caring, and compassionate doctor. I greatly admire all that she does for her patients as she tirelessy works and goes over and beyond in her efforts to meet her pts needs. She performed surgery on my mother successfully in 2016 and overseered her chemo treatment as well as consulted with her radiation oncologist for her radiation treatment and my family and I are forever grateful. Esmeralda, Dr Brewer's former assistant, was exceptional and godsend in getting the necessary paperwork and prior auth approval in a meticulous and timely matter, and we really do miss her.
Dr Brewer brought in new assistants to her office and this would be my complaint and only negative experience so far. The new staff do not pick up their phones and it would go straight to vm. I would leave messages on their vm but no return phone calls on multiple days. I do not know if Dr Brewer is aware of the situation but i do hope this problem does remediate soon because Dr Brewer's pts, such as my mom, are relying on her expertise skills and medical guidance for their health. This is not professional and this is unacceptable.

This is by far the worst doctors office I've had to deal with ever. Getting a proper write up for lab testing is like pulling teeth. First I asked the doctor directly during my exam and writes up one for the exact same test I just had a month prior with my general proc (and yes she knew this because she requested to see those from my general proc). Then I ask for the proper write up and get the run around by the nursing/front staff. They give me the wrong lab write up AGAIN then say they'll fix it and still don't fix it.

Absolutely the best doctor I've encountered in my 8 years in Vegas. She listens, she's thorough, her staff is attentive and follows through on everything they say they will do. They truly care about their patients at this office, which is sadly hard to find in Vegas. I can't recommend Dr. Brewer and her staff enough!

The best doctor in the world!! 😘 I am so happy to have found her and to have her as my doctor! I was initially going to go out of state for surgery and I didn’t have to! I had a large grapefruit sized dermoid cyst with ovarian torsion that took me weeks to find out I had, I was extremely sick going to several doctors and awful ER trips where they sent me home telling me it was panic. Then I found Dr. Brewer ❤️ Someone experienced that knows her stuff! She knew I had a real problem! She also got me in surgery the next day! She removed the horrible grapefruit cyst with the ovary that it killed. I also had my fibroid uterus removed, my tubes, and kept one good ovary. I also my appendix removed which was full of inflammation and stones! Dr Brewer saved me! I couldn’t be more thankful and happy to have her as my surgeon! No other doctor would have gone above and beyond like her! Never met a more thorough, skilled, kind, and helpful doctor! So fortunate that one of the best doctors lives in Las vegas! Thank you so much Dr. Brewer! Your the best!😘❤️😊

Dr Cheryl Brewer is the most amazing doctor. She performed my mom’s surgery and took such good care of Mom. My mom has pulmonary hypertension which made her surgery challenging. Dr Brewer was very attentive to every detail in the planning, prep, during surgery and after. We are so blessed to have her for our doctor!
