Arrived and was quickly checked in. Front office staff were friendly and efficient. There was a medical issue with another patient and nurses were called to the front. Multiple nurses responded quickly and assessed the situation. I saw Dr Corey Lum. He is absolutely the best! Throughout the last year, he has always been knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. He takes his time with you and you feel like a person rather than a number. If you are in heart failure or need a transplant, I would highly recommend him!

My wife (the patient) and I visited Dr. Lum and Vanessa, his APN yesterday. This was her first visit with them. There could not be a more competent, friendly, knowledgeable pair anywhere. I'm so happy to be able to see Dr Lum...I feel very comfortable with him and I believe he knows his stuff....thank you ❤️ on 12/17/25 had a visit with Dr Lum ...usually he is very patient and kind, however that day I felt very rushed from the appt....I sometimes have trouble finding my words when asked a question and he wasn't giving me time to express myself...I didn't like feeling like I wasn't important as a patient.

I was very pleased with staff and doctor at the La Canada location. I was very pleased that doctor Lum would see me as a second opinion doctor even though my issues were far less complex than the patients he normally works with. He was able to assure me that my doctor is planning the exact same procedure, meds, and tests that he would recommend. He also talked about some issues that I haven’t talked with my doctor about yet and need to be discussed. This took to a big load off my mind and I grateful that Dr Lum would see me. I was not pleased with the gatekeepers that answer the phone when you call Intermountain. I had many phone calls to them to arrange to see a cardiologist. Never once did I get any satisfactory answers!

We started out a bit rough with a couple misunderstandings over my lack of taking sodolol that ended up with me going into Afib. Also Dr. Lum felt I had blown him off by not showing up to his last appointment and not even calling in . I did call in from the ER of Henderson Hospital and left a message that morning. So then we got into a somewhat heated conversation over my bringing up I wanted to look into the Impella heart pump. He told me unless I wanted to live in a hospital the rest of my life, I wasn't a candidate for this pump as it can only be used while in a hospital. A few swear words were exchanged and my wife about fell out of her chair in disbelief but all in all the Dr. and I got on the same page by the end of our visit. My wife Kelly had several kind things to tell the Dr. about his misunderstanding of my true feelings about my medical needs and my dedication to resolving these serious health issues. That's why he gets a 5 out of five for being open minded enough to hear us both out.
