FIRST VISIT: Dr. Nguyen spent the entire visit talking at me. No getting to know you or establishing rapport. Just jumped into my records and began marginalizing other cardiologists diagnosis.

I haven't seen any other cardiologist in 3 years, and my first visit to one and I get treated like a hypochondriac before I ever had a chance to speak.

Among his wise words of wisdom, and I quote: "Lot of people have leaky heart valve. See that door? It's closed but air still gets under it, same thing."

Oh, thickening heart muscle? Pay no attention to that. "You're a big guy so thickening heart muscle is all relative. Can't compare to smaller size people heart thickness.

"You can give yourself your own stress test at home."

Then proceeded to tell me how to do it.

Coming from having one of the best cardiologists in Los Angeles to this guy, I felt it right away. Dr. Nguyen came across as one of the least intelligent and condescending doctors I have run across in my life.

It's as of thought he knew me and decided who I was before I even opened my mouth.

Any doctor that discredits your concerns the first time you meet them is not the doctor for you.

Dr. Nguyen, you are used to dealing with a lot of low IQ people, but you need to figure out who you are dealing with before you discredit their perspective and intelligence entirely.

When a patient call to let you know they had a massive chest pain, that they never had and request an EKG and blood test and you get turned down because, "he's seen your test results from 4 years ago." I don't know what to say.

I can't in good conscience bite my tongue on this because other people should know before they spend the time choosing a cardiologist that this isn't a place to be heard or listened to.

Superb experience with Doctor Nguyen, Who was very congenial and informative on all matters related to the review of my health situation [which is excellent by the way]. Dr. Nguyen was exceptionally friendly in manner and not rushed, quite willing to listen to one or two of my old man anecdotes. While I had and have no adverse heart related health conditions, I feel quite comfortable returning to Dr. Nguyen for routine EKG and other testing.

My cardiologist Dr Nguyen is an asset to Intermountian Health Care. He was genuinely concerned about my health condition since my heart attack. He explained to me why my medication is very important for my heart health. He also explained that I need to do some type of exercise for a hour every day (preferably walking) for my heart muscles to function properly.
I’m not a doctor person, I haven’t been to a doctor in more than 40 years, I have been doing natural remedies and herbal supplements/remedies because I don’t believe in man made medicine. I am very particular and judgmental of the doctors/health care industry, so when my expectations are met I will recommend Intermountain Health Care doctors and services to everyone.
