We had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Nepacena and the entire dental team! Everyone was so welcoming, kind, and made my daughter feel comfortable throughout her entire visit. They were able to get her in ASAP, which we really appreciated.

Throughout the procedures, they constantly checked in to make sure she was comfortable and doing okay. I especially appreciated how Dr. Nepacena took the time to make sure my daughter was happy with the shape of her tooth. They listened to what she wanted, and if she wasn’t completely happy with something, they made adjustments until it was exactly the way she liked it.

On August 27, 2026, I had an 11:00 AM appointment at Desert Hills Dental, and I want to give a very well-deserved 5-star review to Dr. Janika Ross and the entire Desert Hills Dental team.

I came in after dealing with significant dental problems while traveling for work as a truck driver. By the time I returned home to Las Vegas, I needed treatment and clear answers about what was happening with my teeth. From the beginning, Dr. Ross was incredibly friendly, respectful, patient, and professional. She made me feel comfortable, listened to my concerns, and never made me feel rushed.

Dr. Ross thoroughly examined me, explained what was happening, answered my questions, and performed my tooth extraction. She also addressed an infection involving another tooth and explained that I would need to see an endodontist for a root canal. She prescribed antibiotics and gave me clear instructions for taking care of the extraction site and what to watch for during the healing process.

What impressed me the most was how Dr. Ross went above and beyond after learning that, because of my job, I would soon be back on the road traveling toward Atlanta, Georgia. She understood that I might be hundreds or even thousands of miles away from Las Vegas if the tooth needing the root canal suddenly became an emergency.

Instead of simply telling me to find a dentist somewhere along the way, Dr. Ross went above and beyond to help me prepare. She recommended several places along my route that I could contact if I needed emergency root-canal treatment. She even took the time to call a friend she knew from dental school to help confirm places that could potentially help me while I was traveling.

As a professional truck driver who spends a tremendous amount of time away from home, that meant more to me than she probably realizes. It showed me that Dr. Ross wasn't only concerned about treating me while I was sitting in her chair, she genuinely cared about what could happen to me after I left her office.

I also want to compliment the office itself. Desert Hills Dental is beautiful. Everything looked extremely clean, modern, organized, and well maintained. The atmosphere was welcoming and professional, and the staff was friendly and organized throughout my entire visit.

Dental problems can be stressful, especially when you're dealing with an extraction, an infection, an upcoming root canal, and a career that keeps you traveling across the country. Having a dentist who listens, communicates clearly, treats you with respect, and takes extra time to think ahead about your situation makes an enormous difference.

Dr. Ross, thank you for your kindness, professionalism, respect, and for going above and beyond for me on August 27th. I sincerely appreciate everything you did, especially taking the extra time to help me find emergency options along my route to Georgia.

I feel very fortunate that I found Dr. Janika Ross and Desert Hills Dental because of a friend referral, so I will thank my neighbor friend Mark and probably take care of his mortgage payment this upcoming month. Kidding, maybe his groceries 😊

I will never go back. I worked in dental offices for 14 years and I have never heard of a doctor telling a patient to, "tough it out," when they were experiencing extreme nerve pain 30 days after a surgery. I sadly recieved no compassion from the doctor or assistants here. They continued to suggest NSAIDS and steroids as my only option which make me very sick. If a doctor does not listen to a word you say and keeps saying, "you should" statements. You should feel better, you should heal, the Tylenol should work. But what if it doesn't? What if one size fits all dentistry doesn't work? My health is in bad shape after coming here.

The amazing smiling faces of Suzy and Adriana when you first walk in set the stage. I am always smiling and laughing with those two fabulous women. Not matter what is going to happen be it cleaning or tooth extraction, all is done with care and professionalism. Janika Ross DMD chair side manner is wonderful. When the visit is over and it is time see Shannon, she always has a smile on her face ( not because it’s time to take money lol). I am happy to pay what insurance does not cover.

I can’t say enough good things about Desert Hills Dental in Las Vegas. I was in town for business when my temporary crown came off around 11 PM. I made an appointment for the next morning, and they went out of their way to fit me into their schedule.

The doctor and staff were absolutely fantastic. They got my crown back on, made sure everything felt right, and had me taken care of quickly. Being from out of town and dealing with an unexpected dental issue can be stressful, but they made the whole experience easy.

And as a bonus, they had a great music playlist playing the whole time—which definitely made the dentist’s chair a little more enjoyable!

I’ve never written a review before, but this office deserves one.

I’ve been coming here for 14 years. When I first started, my oral health wasn’t great, and honestly, I wasn’t always doing what I was supposed to do at home. Dr. Staten and Marleney never stopped educating me and reminding me how important daily care is, especially flossing.

A few years ago, I finally listened and started flossing regularly. What a difference it made. My oral health has improved dramatically, and I now understand that what I do at home every day is just as important as the care I receive at the office.

Marleney has been amazing with my hygiene care and patient education. She and Dr. Staten have been taking care of me for all 14 years, which says a lot about the people in this practice.

Dr. Staten is a rock star. She’s honest, straightforward, and truly cares about her patients’ health. No BS, just great care and advice that works. And yes, her favorite word is definitely “floss.”

Desert Hills Dental is the first dentist I’ve been to in nearly a decade. I’ve been hesitant to go to the dentist due to poor experiences growing up, but this clinic definitely altered my perspective! From the jump, I was met with care and empathy. Shannon addressed my concerns and listed every option I have available to me. This meant so much for me considering my lack of dental insurance at the moment. Roshell was kind and extremely professional. She took my X-rays quickly in order to prevent any prolonged discomfort, which I appreciated a ton. The dental hygienist was rough felt like she kept stabbing my gums with the dental pick. Then tried to tell me that I should let them put numbing gel on the gums but wanted to charge me extra for that. Then tried to talk down to me by telling me how pain receptors work. I work in surgery I know how pain receptors work. She didn’t do fluoride treatment that is Normally done on my visit. Didn’t offer even mouthwash. Been coming here a little over two years. Normally it’s not bad experience. This was!!! I will request a different hygienist for my next cleaning! And if she felt there was a problem she should have notify the dentist to come in. OMG! My wife visited this office to get 2 teeth extracted and the service was top shelf! My wife has a deep fear of dentist and hadn’t been to any dentist for the last 10 years. My wife and I came in for our scheduled exams and cleaning. Coincidentally, my wife had recently suffered an accident which caused the loss of three front teeth. As usual, my dentist, Dr. Nepacena, was friendly and professional. My wife’s dentist, Dr. Staten, was so friendly and kind. She came up with solutions that reassured my wife and presented a plan that will solve the problem within a very short time, and at a price that is a pleasant surprise. This office is amazing.

I pulled out a crown (from eating taffy) that had been planted several years prior by another dentist. I called my new Dentist (who I just started seeing 6 months ago) Dr. Ross at Desert Hills Dental and they were able to get me the following day. I arrived about 7 minutes before my appointment time and was warmly greeted by the Receptionist, and within 3 to 5 minutes at the most my name was called. The Dental Assistant, Lisa, was so friendly making me feel at ease and explained every thing she was doing.
Even though I was warned the existing crown I brought in may not work to re-plant, Dr. Ross and her assistant Lisa did everything to make that happen vs. needing a new crown and it WORKED!!!! after several attempts and making sure everything was correct, Dr. Ross was able to seat my old crown to her satisfaction, showing me on the TV screen, (right in the room) what and why she was doing. This saved me hundreds of dollars.
Dr. Ross, her assistant, Lisa, and everyone else from the billing manager to the receptionist were so friendly and welcoming. The office is so clean and calmly decorated to help ease anxiety.
If you are looking for a dentist, Dr. Janika Ross and Desert Hills Dental is a must!!!

This is an amazing place to be and it's always clean so go when you need dental work done, cleaning, bridges, etc. All I can say is my experience has been nothing but wonderful each and every time I have visited Desert Hills Dental and I am so glad that I found them 5 years ago and now they have become my home my family for life.

Wonderful and efficient staff. Calm atmosphere. Clean lobby. Visits to the Dentist used to be something I dreaded. Going to Desert Hills Dental is now something I look forward to! Their new location is beautiful, immaculate, and everyone there is super nice. Desert Dental has changed my life. I remember the first appointment I canceled because I was afraid. When I finally got up the courage to go I sat in the chair and cried . All I can remember is how they embraced me and assured me that they would take care of me. The owner I believe came in and hugged me . That was huge and I will always remember that.

I had a wonderful experience during my visit!

I came in feeling anxious and insecure about my dental issues, but Dr. Ross, Kay and the rest of the office completely changed that. From the moment we started I was given some cool shades and introduced to some of the staff - who were all extremely kind. Dr Ross was patient, and incredibly reassuring when listening and answering to all my concerns.

I've been a patient for a couple years now. My hygienist is great, and dentist is great. Recent visit that involved a new dental assistant fell short of expectations. I've never had dental problems or issues with occasional discomfort, but when the new dental assistant doesn't listen to my request and insinuates it's my fault she is causing pain...that's not reasonable.

Overall incredible experience from signing in to leaving the wonderful people that work here not only make you comfortable but they make you smile. I cannot thank Dr Ross and her assistant Kay enough. I had an emergency situation where I broke my tooth and I was in a lot of pain and Desert Hills booked me an appointment right away. Dr Ross and Kay were amazing. The procedure went so smooth and easy. I’m writing this a day after having them work on my teeth and it’s like I never broke my tooth to begin with. Pain free and you cannot tell there was ever a problem. I will be using Dr Ross only for now on. Side note, everyone there was so kind and helpful throughout the process and when I go to a dental office I expect it to be clean; this place was pristine. My regular dentist told me I needed a root canal. With all of the horror stories, I was not looking forward to it. They couldn't get me in for the appointments though until the end of the month so I looked around and found Desert Hills. They were able to get me in very quickly. I was still nervous about a root canal but the staff were all amazing at answering my questions. After looking at my xrays, it was maybe possible to just do a filling so that was the initial plan, but after starting on the cavity, it went too deep and a root canal was needed. They were so thorough though in checking to make sure everything was being done correctly and the technology was top notch. I was fitted for and left with my permanent crown as well. I would definitely recommend Desert Hills and will be switching all of my dental care over to them.

I don’t have enough space to convey my appreciation for this practice and its employees. I asked around in my neighborhood group for some dental recommendations following a terrible experience at another practice. This other practice put in an inlay that never fit correctly. I had tried to get them to fix it, and they told me I just had to get used to it. Lol ok. Last week, the inlay fell out while I was flossing. I went back to the dentist and was treated horribly.

So I had some anxiety about trying a new place, but I really had to get this tooth fixed. From the first call to Desert Hills Dental to my arrival at the appointment today to the very end of the procedure, I was treated so wonderfully, I actually teared up. Dr. Ross and Mich are the perfect blend of funny and professional and gave me the support I needed to not be a basket case lol. The numbing helped too ;)

They explained everything to me and gave me the confidence to move forward with the fix. It’s only been a few hours and already this is the first time in three years since that other onlay was placed that that particular tooth isn’t sore and annoying.

I’m so grateful and am confident in saying this is my new dentist.

I also have to mention that the owner, Dr. Staten, had seen her practice recommended in our neighborhood group, and made a point of not only putting a note in my chart but also dropping by during my appt to check in on me. Who does that?? So kind. Also, I have to mention that the practice itself is really beautiful. Lots of light, gorgeous modern design, and really clean. You wouldn’t think that would matter so much, but it really does give you confidence and comfort.

Highly recommend giving them a try. No pressure or upselling either, which I feel like it’s such a problem in the dental industry. Honestly, I would’ve been a good target for adding on a bunch of stuff, because I was desperate and haven’t had an appointment due to recovery from a big surgery. But that didn’t happen, and that gets five stars from me.

Today's the last day me and my son go to this office and here is why:
My family have been a patients at this office for the last over three years. Every appointment we always showed up on time. Today I bring my son to his appointment at 7 AM and I asked the lady if I can cancel my 10 AM today due to I have emergency meeting for my business. They told me that I will get charged for $100 cancellation fee due to less than 24 hours notice. Accident do happen in life and things are coming up unexpected, but your dentist penalty you $100 when shirt happen in life that is not right! they just want to collect the cash and not understanding to the patient! For the last three years our family always on time, and when one time we not on time we get charge $100 for it. is that seem right to you?

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I scheduled an appointment with this office for today. At the time, I didn't have my insurance card. However, I confirmed my appointment with them and finished uploading my paperwork prior to my appointment. They asked for it by 12pm. I uploaded everything by 10am. After the upload, I receive a text letting me know they released my appointment because I didn't respond in time. I called and the lady was extremely rude and say they didn't hear from me which is a lie. They refused to help and kept saying they apologize but oh well, deal with it. Just know if you use this office that they will not follow their own guidelines and will do whatever they want. Super frustrating experience. Especially when their texts say one thing and then they do something entirely different.

LOVED my first visit. Lisa brought me to the back and was very sweet welcoming me in, as we were doing xrays my hygienist Jami came in and took over. Jami was gentle and super informative. Called with a bad toothache and they got me in the next day. They had to do an extraction of a cracked tooth. It was a tough extraction but they got it done with little pain.
