Initially I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Zarndt as a result of an issue I was having with my wrist for more than six weeks and am so glad I did!
My visit began with her medical assistant transcribing my symptoms and uploading my Xray/MRI. Then entered Dr Zarndt or "Dr. Z" as the staff referred to her. After introducing herself to my husband and I she pulled up the Xray and MRI and pointed to a specific area as well as physically examining my wrist and asking where I was experiencing pain. She went on to discuss options for treatment but because of a prior negative experience at a different practice I was extremely reluctant to having an injection, however, due to her letting me know she would be using an ultrasound to guide where she would be injecting along with her calm, confident demeanor I proceeded to have it done. Before I knew it she was done, no pain and within a few days my wrist began feeling much better.

Terrible practice. They sprung surprise useless tests that were not discussed prior to try to squeeze more out of insurance and copays. Tech told me I could see the doctor without getting additional screening as I had my MRI disc. Was made to wait over 30 minutes to then be told the doctor won't see me without their tests. Would rather suffer with my minor pain then be pressured in such a place.

Drove my 90 year old father, who hasn't driven or needed a current ID for anything since he was 80, to this location across town in 8am traffic to have them tell me that they couldn't see him for his appointment because his last ID had expired. He has been there since his ID expired several times and was able to see the Dr. This time they turned him away without a valid NV ID. Had all kinds of other ID(no picture) but was turned away. His ID has been accepted at every other doctor's appointment he has been to in the last 5 years since it expired. Not one time did they mention before I drove him across town in 8am traffic that he needed to have a current ID. I am so dissatisfied and disappointed with the service and response from Desert Orthopedic.

Desert Orthopedic Center is awesome. I had a right hip replacement by Dr Kyle Hancock. All the staff that interacted with me were beyond and amazing. PA Milan Petal was the best throughout my whole journey of Cortizone shots in my hip. If there is any surgery I would need, I would use DOC again. I was in constant pain with my shoulder. I went to the practice that replaced my knees for a consult. Although I was extremely happy with the surgeon that did my knees he doesn’t do shoulders. During the consult with the shoulder surgeon he told me it would most likely have to be a reverse shoulder replacement and then I would not be able to lift more than 25 pounds for the rest of my life. I left there knowing I was not going to be getting a reverse shoulder replacement as my lifestyle wouldn’t permit that limitation. I went for a second opinion and was told the same thing. After a year and the pain increasing, I went for a third opinion with Dr. Baldauf. I told him what the other surgeon said, and he said he has a bodybuilder patient that lifts significantly more than I ever would. He explained most surgeons like to be better safe than sorry and said I would be able to work out after the surgery if I was cautious. It’s been seven months since my surgery and I work out three days a week with a Trainer and no problem with my shoulder. Dr. Baldaufs willingness to be realistic saved me a lot of pain and enabled me to continue my normal lifestyle.

When visiting a doctor’s office, patients should feel safe, respected, and listened to. Unfortunately, that was not my experience during my recent visit. From the moment I arrived, I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. The doctor appeared dismissive and did not initially review my MRI results, instead making assumptions before even looking at the imaging.

I had to specifically ask him to review my MRI before he finally did. As a patient, it is concerning when medical decisions or opinions seem to be formed without first reviewing the relevant medical information. The interaction left me feeling unheard and disrespected.

Healthcare should be about listening to patients and providing thoughtful, thorough care. Based on this experience, I will be transferring my care elsewhere and will not be returning. I sincerely hope this feedback encourages a higher level of professionalism, attentiveness, and respect for future patients.

Let me tell you Dr Park gives the greatest painless, epidurals, and all other pain injections. Overall I had a great experience.
Dr Fontes & His assistant Michael Trang. I was so satisfied with my 2 TKR.
My right knee surgery was done at Parkway Surgery Center. I would rate the staff there 100% so caring and organized. Mostly recommended.
My left knee was done at Desert Orthopaedic Surgery Center. I was dissapointed at the admission staff there were so unprepared. I give them a rating of 4 out of 10. This rating has nothing to do with the Doctor & surgery team.
Again I would recommend Dr Fontes for a Knee replacement Surgery. He is so knowledgeable and caring.

Dr. Anesur, DO performed only a brief physical exam before diagnosing my issue. I had to mention my CT image reports on possible lesions that I believe are cause of the pain I have, and request an MRI to confirm his diagnosis. Neither of which he asked for or offered respectively. He did perform a trigger point injection to help ease my pain, only after I requested it, which is a better approach than relying on pain meds as a quick fix. Not too impressed with him.

I had my L4–5 and L5–S1 TFESI lumbar steroid injections on Monday. My Sis drove me to the clinic, and we arrived at 11:30am as I was advised to be there by 12pm.

After making the payment and completing the paperwork, we were told we could wait either inside the room or outside — we chose to wait outside. 30 minutes passed… then 1 hour… then almost 2 hours. I checked with reception, but unfortunately, there was no empathy or update on the delay. I truly didn’t mind waiting, but a simple acknowledgment or communication would have made a big difference.

About 20 minutes later, I was called in by Marilou who was very pleasant. Anesthesiologist Santos was thorough, and Gretchen was amazing with me before the procedure, while Leslee took great care of me after. Dr. Park was gentle and very careful with the injections — I hardly felt anything even though I was awake. Leslee chatted with me afterwards and kindly escorted me to the SUV where my Sis was waiting.

Other than the long wait at the start, everything else was a wonderful experience.

I truly appreciate the staff who cared for me with kindness.

Praying this procedure brings relief to the back pain I’ve been struggling with for so long. Hope for the best.

I would first like to start off by saying that Dr. Hayashi is a doctor I would highly recommend. I have experienced chronic back pain for years, stemming from a work injury in 2009. The pain significantly worsened after a car accident in 2020, which re-triggered my back issues.

I have known since 2009 that I will eventually need surgery to fully address my back problems. However, what I truly appreciate about Dr. Hayashi is that he respects what his patients feel is best for themselves, while still offering his honest medical opinion. He never pressures you, and he genuinely wants what is best for you.

Every visit with Dr. Hayashi has made me feel heard. He listens carefully, shows true understanding, and treats you with compassion. It’s clear that he truly cares about his patients.

This was my second time receiving spinal injections from Dr. Hayashi. He talks you through each step of the procedure so you know exactly what to expect, and I love that. I’m the type of patient who has to watch a procedure online before getting it done (I can’t help it 😆), so having a doctor walk me through everything as it happens is incredibly reassuring.

Dr. Hayashi is extremely knowledgeable, and his staff is just as amazing. I would give him a 10 out of 10 without hesitation. If you’re in the Las Vegas area and in need of pain management, please look him up. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Thanks to Dr. Hayashi, I was pain-free for over eight months after my first procedure, and I just had my second one on October 17, 2025.

Well, It's been 1.5 years since Dr. Fontes replaced my right hip. Can't thank Dr. Fontes enough including all of his staff and Dr. Zarndt for her great knowledge and advice. I was within 3 weeks of not being to walk any longer. Dr. Fontes and staff took care of that and I'm now pain free, limp free, and using my hip as if nothing ever happened. I know there is a few precautions I have to be aware of in comparison to my natural hip which was explained to me by Dr. Zarndt. At 62 years young really I don't have any regrets what so ever on getting this surgery. I also would like to compliment of all the team at St. Rose Dominion hospital for their professionalism and care. I can say that I finally found a pain management clinic that makes me feel comfortably, is professional and friendly from the moment you step in to the moment you leave and Dr. Andrew Kim is exceptionally good at what he does. I chose Dr. Nishiyama from Desert Orthopaedic Center after reviewing several doctors from this facility. They were all highly qualified. When I finally met him, I knew that I made the right decision. He addressed all my questions and concerns, explained everything in easy to understand "plain English" and was very patient while I was trying to remember if there was something else that I needed to ask. Looking at him, it is obvious that he has empathy and concern for myself and I'm sure, all his patients. He should be the baseline for all doctors. I've noticed the lack of concern and empathy with today's physicians. Most spend an average of 5 to 12 minutes and seem ready to bolt at any minute. Not him. My total hip replacement was scheduled on July 7. He called me the day before to make sure all concerns, questions and needs are answered and met. The staff at Valley Health Specialty Hospital told me that he's the only one does this. On the day of surgery, I was reassured that my procedure would go perfectly. He didn't disappoint. I'm looking forward to getting my other hip done. I will forever be grateful!

My husband needed to see an orthopedic surgeon. They scheduled him to see one today. I asked for a specific doctor that was referred by a friend. My husband took some time off to meet the doctor. His assistant showed up introduced himself and it looks like he will be our orthopedic surgeon for the day. I asked him if we are going to see Dr. Thomas Dunn. He said no because he is in the hospital doing surgeries. I told him our appointment was with him and told us he has been doing this with him for 25 years. I asked him if he’s an orthopedic surgeon. He is not. He is a medical assistant. I told him that this is my husband’s spinal that they might possibly suggest a surgery and we will not schedule anything until we see a surgeon. This place doesn’t care about the pain my husband had to go through waiting to see a doctor. My husband had to take some time off to see a doctor. They don’t seem to care about our time. They only care about their time and if they can make money of you.

I waited so many months to see this doctor and they didn’t even give me a real doctor. They gave me some assistant. Milan patel sorry I went in from a previous doctor. That’s not in Vegas no more and he told me I need a total knee replacement. They gave me three gel shots. It didn’t work at all so I went to Desert orthopedic when I got there that day I was in severe pain like every day they gave me x-rays of both knees had a hard time just getting on the table. I had to have them help me going into the office. I met the assistant. He looks at both x-rays and you could tell the x-rays of both different the right leg Had two bones and something in the middle whatever you call the cottage The second x-ray was my left knee two bones and nothing in the middle. He looks at the x-ray tells me they both look good. I told them you crazy look at the x-ray in the left side. There’s nothing in the middle . He said I see it thin line, but you are good. You don’t need no surgery. I’m like I can’t even walk to get in the car. I got to go butt first and then swing one leg around and pick up the other leg to get it in the car. There’s something wrong there my severe pain. I have a special walker because I can’t even walk with a cane if I fall, I won’t be able to get up plus I think I have a tore ligament because I have to stretch my leg out in agonizing pain just to hear Quick so I can walk and that’s every time if I sit down have a hard time sitting down. I gotta stretch my leg out straight and then try to sit down it’s not normal that I can’t even bend my leg my knee.He says if I was you I wouldn’t do no surgery. You’re fine. I’ll give you the shot. Come back six months. He gave me the shot at last me seven days and now I’m in total pain again and when I called back, they said oh you don’t need to come back for six months what kind of office is this and why can’t I see a real doctor? I looked up this guy. He’s not a doctor. I don’t know what he is but he don’t belong working here. That’s for sure. Disgusting never again. This place is a joke.

I love this place. I had requested the gel injections I should had did more research into it.The authz dept left me a msg stating it was denied. So me who will work at an denial to appeal with my carrier to see if I can get it approved, can't because the authz was never sent in base on general statistics of approval. Dr. Park displayed a shocking lack of professionalism and empathy during my visit, when he couldn’t even be bothered talking to me in person. Instead, I was seen by a nurse. They disregarded my concerns and offered no meaningful solutions or treatment plan. Instead of listening or providing any guidance, they seemed dismissive and uninterested. They didn’t even have the needed results from my previous visit available, letting me wait while they located them. I felt as if my health was an inconvenience. Their unwillingness to engage with me or suggest even the most basic course of action left me feeling unheard, frustrated, and utterly disappointed. A doctor’s role is to provide care and solutions, yet Dr. Park failed spectacularly on both fronts. Dr Hayashi was alright in some ways but did the one thing I hate the most which was made me feel rushed! When I came in for my appointment, he was quick to let me know that he’s only able to do so much in terms of helping me. He seemed uninterested in me as a patient and just wanted me to know the options I have with him. One thing I like about him is he’s seemingly trying to get you to go a more natural route. He wasn’t quick to prescribe me pills/narcotics which is something I really appreciate. However, I told him I wanted to deep dive into what was going on because I’ve been dealing with pain so much lately and it’s been getting worse and he didn’t want to spend that much time with me. I was asking him a lot of questions and his answers were quick and at one point he told me that he had to get going, which made me feel like he just wanted to get me out of the room. Like many situations at Desert orthopedic it feels like they have a certain amount of time for each patient maybe 15 to 30 minutes max and they have to move on. I absolutely hate that and wish that someone could just spend time with me and not make it feel like I’m being rushed or that I’m just another number on their sheet. Typical healthcare/insurance BS.

I injured my ankle skydiving and felt with the pain for 3- years seeing multiple doctors, they all wanted to do the easy fix & suggested fusing my ankle . Dr Watson gave me options beyond fusing and together we methodically went through all my options and he ultimately performed a tendon transfer… My results were fantastic and I am actually jumping again , doing the sport I love . I also want to add that his entire staff from front desk to his personal staff are friendly / courteous & very professional…!!!

Jennifer in front desk at checking was rude and uncaring. My dad needed assistance with an insurance update and she was unwilling to help. My dad literally asked for assistance with another person working there (Norma) who literally fixed the insurance issue in less than 5 minutes. Jennifer could have helped which was HER job she just didn’t want to. Must be nice to have a job like that I guess. The rest of the staff was friendly and professional which is the only reason I didn’t rate this place less. Shout out to Norma.

Nice quiet place, first in, first out. Dr. Hayashi was great. Gave me cervical needling with an anti-inflammatory in it, so that was nice to have an in office procedure done that moment. He seems very efficient and explained my MRI & xray results on the computer, thoroughly. Unlike any other pain management doctor I've been to. He instructed me on the next steps and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed or ignored. His nurses both up front and in the back were also very attentive and efficient.
I'll be continuing care with him for as long as I need my pain managed. I would never go back to NCPC.

Reviewing a medical facility or office is one of my most challenging tasks. Many factors involve going to a doctor, from the intake staff to the physical facility, the telephone wait (especially in Las Vegas), and finally, the nurses, assistants, and doctors. Of course, it's all an extremely subjective viewpoint, depending on why you went to the doctor in the first place.

For me, it all boils down to the medical practitioner. I'm willing to forgive most of the "pre-doctor" interactions so long as I feel that the doctor (i.e., M.D., D.O., or NP) listened to my issue(s) and responded in kind with understanding and knowledge of why I was there.

Considering this and pointing out that I saw Dr. Jessica Zarndt, I offer my [rarely given] 5-star rating. Unlike most Las Vegas doctors, Dr. Zarndt didn't keep me waiting in an isolated room. She promptly knocked on the door within a few minutes and spoke with me, not talking and looking at the notes on the table beside her. She was understanding and empathetic. She offered various avenues of possible relief for my particular issue. We looked at the X-rays together, and she explained them in detail. Her "bedside" manner was comforting and pleasant, and I trusted her opinion based on her personality.

While this review is written under Desert Orthopaedic Center's name, it focuses more on Dr. Zarndt. All the other working parts of Desert Orthopaedic Center, which made me feel as comfortable as Doctor Zarndt, are worth noting. I rarely offer five-star reviews, and it is even rarer that I issue the same to a doctor and their staff. This review is one of those rare instances where I comfortably give 5-stars.

For the record, I don't understand how anyone could visit with Dr. Jessica Zarndt and not come away with the same pleasant and comforting feeling as I did.

I think that Dr Park is a very caring, knowledgeable pain MGMT physician with very prestigious training. I saw him for the 1st time on a Wed afternoon for sciatica. I brought my MRI which shows many,any problems over many years I got an epidural on Friday which so far 3 days later is only partially successful. I am hoping the sciatica will improve with the injection more. I intend to follow up with Dr Park in the future with his treatment options. I would gladly have given him 5 stars if my injection had better results Follow up 8 months later. Changed to a different pain MGMT Dr after 2 months of no real follow up by Dr Park. Still using Cane to walk, leg weakness from Dr Parks injection. Terrible follow up. So not recommend Dr Park, going to PT referred by Neurosurgeon. Also had new MRI and NC tests by new pain MGMT Dr who really care, NV Pain MGMT.

100% do not recommend.
I waited months to see a doctor, was told I needed surgery - which that doctor did not do - and that someone from the surgical scheduling team would contact me to set that up. A month later, no call, called back, couldn't find out anything. Had to wait for another call back, was told that I was supposed to have been told to call in and make an appointment with one of the surgeons there! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! Why would I see and pay to see another doctor when I already saw one who totally dropped the ball. Will not go back.

If it weren't for the excellent Doctors and medical staff here I would go to another location. The staff and system for answering phone calls is an absolute joke. You would expect a professional office like this would employ professional personnel to handle phone calls. NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONES!! If you are lucky enough to get someone to answer your call they transfer you to someone who DOESN'T ANSWER. I have been trying for nearly 3 weeks to get a prescription refilled. The pharmacy has called..I have called and no response!! If there is an issue couldn't someone call and let me know??!! My prescription has run out!! Do they think this is a fun and games that I take this medicine for fun?? If I didn't need it why was it prescribed?? How would they like to go through the chemical imbalance of having something suddenly withdrawn??
Christmas was 3 days ago..I get that that can interfere but this has been 3 weeks what's the excuse for that? If they are closed why isn't there an answering message to say so?. Why when you are transfered and they are busy is there not a message to put you on hold?
The professionalism of a practice starts with the first contact. Get your act together...train your staff!!! Or hire more people.

Desert orthopedic pain clinic was very helpful I have been getting my spinal injections from them for 3 years now , never having any problems . Only hiccup I have had is this last time I was told they don't fill out sort term disability forms , but they scheduled my appointment 3 weeks out so I was out of work with no pay for 3 weeks.

I have experienced a confused medical staff. I been told very poor instructions that change every time, especially when asked a question by me. I am not including the wonderful clerical staff. It’s very sad that I feel so intimidated by there responses as if I am lying or an idiot.
I also feel that it’s unsafe experience when having a procedure. Yesterday after experiencing excruciating pain with any sedation, when asked to stand up to leave, I felt very unstable. After working in the anesthesia department for many years, our large team would have never expected a patient to go thru any procedure in without some pain alleviation products.
On two previous previous procedure, I asked the young female anesthesiologist to give me more effective pain medication. She refused.
I am 73 years old and I never complain about my treatment, this city has proven to be the absolute worse heath care, by far. I didn’t even have a blood pressure cuff on yesterday. Dr. Park didn’t even check on me while I sitting trying to recoup from the wooziness post procedure. The only comment Dr. Park said was that telling the “ girls” at the front desk for pain medication refill was wrong. He said I should only tell the medical staff. I told the medical assistant yes I need a pain medication refill when she asked me. If they aren’t valid medical staff then what’s the point of answering “yes “?

We are so happy with Dr. Fontes and Desert Orthopaedic center. Dr. Fontes spent the time to talk to us about my daughter's injury and really listen to her about what was going on. We never felt rushed during her assessment and I appreciated him speaking to her to truly understand what was going on. He was very thorough with his assessment and follow up MRI. The office staff was friendly and prompt. We waited no longer than 5 minutes of our appt time. What I also appreciated was that he was not afraid to say if the pain persists after exhausting options (PT, specific recovery suggestions, etc.) to see a specific doctor for a second opinion. To me, that is transparency!

Misty at the center on Desert Inn was SO fabulous! She is so welcoming, bright and cheerful! She's the kind of person you want to see when going into an MRI! I can't say enough great things about her.

While I would say Dr. Winder is an amazing doctor and all the back office staff were great when I went in for my appointments pre and post surgery, the front office and scheduling ARE A JOKE. I need to return to an orthopedic surgeon for a different situation and wanted to see the same doctor so I thought maybe they have improved and I'd give it a try. I have spent 2 days trying to get an appointment. 3 phone calls resulting in hold times of 20-30m before I hung up and 1 appointment request via their website that did not result in anyone reaching out to me. Consider dealing with all this frustration before going to this place. Its too bad.
