John Thalgott misdiagnosed my wife resulting in 2 unnecessary surgeries and hours of associated PT. His records of her office visits, particularly regarding pain, were inaccurate. Upon informing him of the actual diagnoses (done by MAYO Clinic in MN) he completely ignored her. Struggles with being a professional.

I believe that during the surgery he did on me on 4/1/24 he created and caused two pinched nerves. The pain is excruciating, 1-10 it is 15. I cannot give or say anything positive about what he did to me. If you go to him for surgery you are doing so at your own risk.

Love Dr.Thalgott. He looked at my complicated back before I came. He immediately had a solution. I almost didn’t go because I had seen many doctors before ( Baltimore and NYC )and they all told me that my back was hopeless and I would have to live with the pain. He sent me to a pain management specialist and he sent me back to Dr. Thalgott. Dr. Thalgott surgically inserted a spinal stimulator. I’m not completely pain free but the pain is so little that I control it with Tylenol. He’s compassionate and always explains everything.

Dr thalgott is a good Dr he has the hands that God gave him that's are great I been seeing him since 2014 I had my 3rd back surgery and 2nd neck surgery with him he is the best Dr in my care team I love him and his staff. they are great 😃😃

AMAZING!!!!!! I’m a disabled Veteran and was seeking a back specialist in the community. The staff was very courteous, professional, and organized.
Dr. Thalgott was very personable and easy to talk to. I felt very relaxed and confident in his care. Would recommend to anyone.
FYI: my surgery is scheduled in July. Can’t wait to start feeling better and living life again. 😊

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Thalgott! I first saw him in I wanna say 2000. At that point he told me to wait as long as I could wait before having surgery. (And this was after I was told he was knife happy) which is not true. Here is is 21 years latter and I am now to the absolute point to have it done. And guess what!?!? My damn insurance will not approve it! Dr. Thalgott even appealed the decision and did a peer to peer with the. And they still wouldn't. But they are gonna keep trying. I 10000000% trust Dr. Thalgott. (Now sometimes the wait in the lobby and all takes foreeeever, just a heads up).

I finally did get my surgery and was great for a year. Now pain is coming back but that's due to a disk above the fusion breaking down. But I knew this would happen and he told me he was gonna do his best to get me at least 50% better. He did do that. Unfortunately, I am riddled with osteo and rheumatoid arthritis. So there is only so much that can be done for pain. But he did exactly what he said. I have to have my neck done and I trust no one else.

Dr Thalgott did my surgery on my spine in 2009 and I haven't had any pain whatsoever since. Yeah! There is a waiting time, but to me it is important who is going to cut me and I trust him. He takes a long time because he gives everyone more time listening explaining. He is good in detail. I would not allow any one but him to take care of my spine. I hope he stays in practice for a long time.

I have had 12 surgeries....7 of which have been on my spine. This doctor is brilliant and worth the wait. He gives you the in office attention you need and treats you as a human being. Hard to find in this day and age. He cares, will do all he can to fix and help you. He has been doing wonders for me since 1998 and just took out his old hardware from my. Lumbar 4/5....he just removed the old from 1998 and did 2 new ones with his new hardware. Dr. Thalgott's techniques and skills are amazing. The only doctor I will let touch my spine. Thank you for saving me so I can at least have a life. Thank you a thousand times over Dr. Thalgott. God gave you a precious gift and you mastered it. Blessings to you and your staff

No matter what time you set your appointment for - you will have to wait THREE HOURS to see the doctor! First appointment of the day, last appointment of the day - it doesn't matter! His administrative staff is the ABSOLUTE WORST I have ever had to deal with. They DO NOT CARE that you're in pain, you're missing time from work, you've inconvenienced other people to get to your appointment - you will wait three hours! So, it doesn't matter how good the doctor might actually be, if you ever got to see him - because you'll never get to see him. No doctor is worth that. I gave him several chances, and this last time I had a fool-proof plan - be the FIRST appointment of the day. It didn't matter. And his staff acted like I was the one being unreasonable! There are other doctors. Find one who doesn't treat his patients like cattle.

Do NOT come here!! I repeat, DO NOT COME TO THIS OFFICE!! Dr. Thalgott left me bed ridden because of his ignorance. And then once in requested my records to see another surgeon, weeks in advance, all of the sudden they can’t give me my records the day before my appointment. Also, Dr. Thalgott put me under anesthesia to do a surgery, and then I woke up with him not doing anything whatsoever to me because of a burn he was well aware of!!!! This place did nothing but make me worse than I was 10 months ago!!! I cannot even walk now!! DO NOT COME HERE!!

Dr. Thalgott is doing God's work. He saw my pain and saved me when I had been handed from one provider to another previously. I can't say enough good about this miracle worker! I suffered 5 months with a severely bulging disc. He performed what amounted to an emergency surgery within weeks of meeting with me and I had immediate relief post-op. Dr. Thalgott is an experienced and highly skilled spinal expert and I will be forever grateful!

Feb 3rd, 2020 I had L3-L4 fusion, and removal of old fusion hardware L4-S1 removed from a 2004 operation. Dr Thalgott was very confident and knowledgeable of what the cause of my issues were prior to even seeing my MRI (pain & numbness in my legs)... He made me feel comfortable, took the time to answer ALL my concerns and let me know I was in good hands... “Literally”!!
I am now 3 weeks out from surgery. Walking w no brace, feeling better everyday, and confident I will be better then before the surgery in no time!! I recommend this man to anyone suffering like I was prior to the surgery.. Couldn’t be happier rite now.

Like so many doctors expect delays in your appointment but it will be worthy. On 2007 I stopped walking the pain was unbearable, someone recommended him, he was the kindest, made me feel comfortable, without him I would've been in wheelchair. On 2016 I got rear ended, I couldn't feel my face or arms, pain was horrible, once again he worked his magic. I can't thank him enough!

First of all my name is Valerie Rochte. Dr. Thalgott has been my doctor since September of 1993. He's the only doctor that I will ever allow to do surgery on me. He will not operate on you unless all Avenue's have been looked into. He listens to you and tells you what he believes that you need.I plan on seeing him in the future. He never promises you that you will be pain, freebut you will have a chance of getting better if you have surgery. I have seen other doctors about my back but he will diagnose you the best he can, which is what you need. I would recommend him to anyone that needs the best of care. He understands what you need and he will do his best. I have had four spinal surgeries with him and it's my body that is breaking down, not the treatment that I had. I want to thank you Dr. Thalgott for being my doctor and getting me well as possible.

I have severe spinal stenosis, with myelopathy
radiculopathy and nueropathy. Spondylitis, arthritis, disc herniations, nerve impingement among other things. I have been preparing for a surgury that had already been previously approved , however I opted to delay the surgury because I was still recuperating from a three level fusion in my neck. Dr Thalgott acting as a peer reviewer for my insurance company denied my doctor's request for Surgery approval. This man's decisions having been made with out examining me (he wouldn't even respond to phone calls when I contacted my insurance company)are the height of irresponsibility. You have turned your back on the oath you took to do no harm, thanks to you I just may be permanently in a wheelchair.

I’m extremely disappointed that when I call, the staff is extremely rude! I had corrective surgery with Dr T when I was 14 I’ve been back every 7 years since. Rather than someone being understanding, showing empathy I was treated horribly! Sad that customer service has completely gone away. Especially considering that Dr. Thalgott was the BEST doctor I’ve ever seen! I just wanted a bit of guidance and help because I’m currently in Pain!

Absolutely the worst surgeon in town. Went in recently for a second opinion after bad experiences with another surgeon. I should have ran away when he backed me into a corner and told me to take my mask off because he couldn't hear me. Told me to come closer to him who had had no mask on. It felt very predatory. He had trump bobbleheads and back the blue everywhere. He told me nothing was wrong with me based on one x-ray he took in his office. He is a gaslighting mysoginist and racist so I would strongly warn women and BIPOC to stay away!! None of his staff wears masks. he said all I can do is stay fit to deal with my post laminectomy syndrome. My pain Dr referred me but I wish I had never gone into his office.

Went in for back surgery 6yrs later had mri on my hip noticed something not right thoght it was cancer come to find out when dr. put me back together he kinked my kidney and he didn't even bother to say anything he knew it was kinked because he had did so many xrays so I
lost my kidney and got diabetes I would NEVER EVER go see him again He ruined my life I couldn't even sue because staute of limitation and I signed paperwork before my surgery So please read ALL paperwork they give you because I gave him permission to ruined my life

Difficult getting disability paperwork filled out by Rene because "I'm not disabled". I have a medical condition disabling me from working! Duh!
It was never a problem for her to fill out the exact same paperwork with different dates before my surgery and shortly after but now it's a problem and I'm completely fine (when she didn't even attempt to contact my physical therapists to see if I have limitations, which I do). She embarrassed me by getting loud and trying to assume that I'm making this stuff up. Everyone else I've encountered there was nice and professional, she acts like I'm taking money from their office or I'm trying to make her do something illegal. I'm not getting rich or even getting ahead on 60% disability pay and I didn't put a 25lb restriction on the last paper YOU filled out, YOU did! So when I go in on Thursday 04/08, all of a sudden its a miracle I have no restrictions and I'm cured because Rene said so. Hopefully for them I don't injure myself because the neglect and laziness on her behalf.

In December Dr. Thalgott operated on my L5/S1 herniated disc which was causing me a lot of pain and I had "foot drop." He figured out a way not to fuse my vertebrae, cure the foot drop after 3 other docs said I needed a fusion. Dr. Thalgott is an incredible surgeon. He is worth any wait.

As I was being rolled into the operating room, Thalgott was beside me. I asked "So this will take care of my pain, right doctor Thalgott?" I was having a HORRIBLE anterior fusion. They cut you wide open from your by your waist to the opposite side by your lower hip. HUGE cut! I think they take out your organs to operate on the anterior part of your spine. . Thalgott answered my question by saying "It's a SALVAGE attempt." NOW you tell me! If I could have ran away I would have and SHOULD have. The pain NEVER went away. The surgery did NOTHING to help. If you're a real good patient, he might refer you to Carl Noback for "pain control." It doesn't work either. Run from these two. Google John Thalgott in the RJ. see what you get...

Dr. Thalgott went above and beyond for my surgery.. when my lumbar broke , It was gonna take up to 6 to 7 months for me to even be see with the radiologist to have kyoplasty..Well, he got me in, in 8 weeks..He is honestly the best surgeon.. He’s Not the kind of doctor that rush you out, he takes his time with you, he has a big heart .. Also everyone in the office is so polite, nice & really helpful.. He helped me tremendously, I don’t know how I could ever thank him.. I would highly recommend him😊

I had back surgery in 98. I wish I'd never made such a stupd decision. I really don't
believe I even needed the surgery, now I can't even walk a block and am in horrible pain
