He is a great doctor that sits and has a conversation one on one with you.

Copy paste of what I just sent to the medical board. You put your life at risk designating this man as your primary. Please, take care of the ones you love. Don’t let negligence like this happen again.
Complaint to the Medical Board Regarding Dr. Ernesto A McCombs.
I am submitting this complaint regarding Dr. McCombs the primary care physician for my father (name omitted) because I believe there are serious concerns regarding the quality of care he provided over a prolonged period and whether that care placed my father at unnecessary risk of significant harm.
My father was under Dr. McCombs’ s care for several years. During that time, he was repeatedly told he was in “perfect health,” despite having longstanding hypertension that, in my opinion, was not managed aggressively enough. He was maintained on blood pressure medication that did not adequately control his condition (bp over 170 regularly), without any timely referral to a cardiologist or vascular specialist until after he was admitted to the hospital despite persistent hypertension, which is a major risk factor for thoracic aortic aneurysm.
In July 2026, my father was hospitalized after experiencing severe dry heaving. Although the hospitalization ultimately showed no coronary artery blockage, imaging unexpectedly revealed a 4.6 cm thoracic aortic aneurysm as well as a hiatal hernia. These significant medical conditions had not previously been identified or discussed with him by his primary care physician.
While I understand that not every thoracic aortic aneurysm is detectable during a routine primary care visit, I ask the Board to determine whether the physician’s management of my father’s hypertension met the accepted standard of care and whether additional evaluation, imaging, specialist referral, or closer monitoring should reasonably have occurred given his medical history and risk factors.
I am also concerned about the accessibility and professionalism of the practice.
While my father was hospitalized, I contacted the office to request that his medical records be transferred to the treating physicians. During that call, the receptionist stated that she would “try” to relay the message to the doctor but that he was “very busy” and was unlikely to respond. The following day, during normal business hours, I repeatedly attempted to reach the office by telephone, left numerous voicemail messages, and was unable to speak with anyone. This occurred while my father was hospitalized and continuity of care depended upon prompt communication.
In addition, obtaining a routine appointment with this physician typically required waiting approximately one month, even when ongoing medical issues required follow-up.
I respectfully request that the Medical Board investigate:
* Whether my father’s hypertension was managed in accordance with the accepted standard of medical care.
* Whether appropriate referrals, diagnostic evaluation, or monitoring should have been provided given his cardiovascular risk profile.
* Whether telling a patient he is in “perfect health” accurately reflected his documented medical condition.
* Whether the practice’s communication failures and inability to respond during an active hospitalization jeopardized continuity of care.
* Whether this physician’s overall management demonstrates a pattern that may place other patients at risk.
I understand that not every adverse medical outcome constitutes negligence. My request is that the Board conduct an independent review of the medical records to determine whether the care provided met the professional standard expected of a primary care physician.
I am willing to provide hospital records, imaging reports, medication history, call logs, and any additional documentation requested by the Board.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

This Dr. Is a quack for sure. Kept adding unnecessary meds. Got a second opinion and the new Dr. Told me to stop 2 of his Rxs.
Not to mention he makes you wear a mask. The whole office is related and are very miserable and not friendly. Creepy vibes for sure

I cannot recommend Dr. Mccombs enough. Extremely thorough with his analysis, takes time to think, validates, checks and confirms other aspects. He’s a reminder that good Doctors exist and care for their patients. Please be patient as he is taking the necessary time with every single one of his patients. I prefer to wait (in this instance) and have an amazing service, vs having a doctor wanting me out of there.
Scheduling is easy, great team. Amazing doctor.

The doctor is pretty good but the receptionist (his wife) needs an attitude adjustment. She is always rude, and unfriendly. You visit would be good if you didn't have to deal with her.
One day I called to make an appointment and naturally she shoves me on hold. After 5 minutes she comes back and thought she was talking to somebody else 8starts telling me about Mrs. So in so has cancer. I told her you have the wrong person! She then puts me on hold again. I just hung up.
So I guess she will just blab her mouth off to anyone about someone's diagnosis

I love this doctor. For years I had multiple issues and I feel that he has been the only one to really listen and try things until they work. Two thumbs up!!

Dr. McCombs has been my primary physician for about 15 years. He is wonderful and truly invested in my well being and health. He takes the time to talk with me about my health and life because healthcare is more than throwing pills at you. He advises me how to stay healthy by changing my lifestyle. He worked with my OB/Gyn when I was trying to have children to ensure that his treatment coincided with my OB/Gyn. He has a warm temperament bedside manner and I always enjoy talking with him. I appreciate him and his staff!!

Dr. McCombs is ok, satisfied with my diagnosis. Still having a few issues he looked over. I would want to make another appointment for said issues, but the receptionist who answers is always very rude. I’d rather switch my primary care. Was an alright experience, but I’m looking for offices who genuinely care or at least act like it. I’ve never seen such a sad staff in my short time of life! They should find another profession or go seek help since they could care less.

Dr. McCombs Is one of the best doctors in town. He has very old school approach to his interactions with his patients. He actually takes the time to get to know them so that he can provide the best possible care. We need more doctors like him in this town.

Wish there was a minus star. My husband has some sort of infection going on and this guy is well let's send you here, let's send you there. With no answers and now swelling. Didn't even know his Anatomy. He is a poor excuse for a doctor. I would NOT recommend anyone go to him.

Recommended to Dr. Mccombs by a friend. He's absolutely fantastic. Very thorough in diagnosing my high blood pressure to provide the best remedy. Always takes the time to explain his diagnosis, why he's choosing a particular course of action and answers all questions. Never waited more than 5 or 10 minutes.

If you can make it past the receptionist and her daycare, you will immediately be greeted by her fabulous disappointing attitude. Once you make it past her, you will meet the amazingly rude Nurse with a sarcastic sweet caring voice. If you're lucky you might meet the Doctor, whom I heard great things about. Unfortunately I shortly realized I didn't want to change my primary care provider after being assisted by his staff.
