Terrible Experience

When I scheduled my appointment, I was given a specific price for a tooth extraction based on having insurance. However, when I arrived for the appointment, at the Flamingo location, the cost suddenly increased because I was told my insurance would not cover the rest of the procedure.

When I disagreed and explained that I came prepared to pay the price I was originally quoted, they kept insisting that I use their financing options instead. I felt pressured and uncomfortable.

The price should have been explained clearly before scheduling the appointment, not changed after I arrived.

My kids and I have had very bad experiences with the dentist in the past which has caused pretty bad anxiety but walking into this office immediately puts you at ease, it’s peaceful, calm and inviting.
Everyone we spoke to or saw was so kind and gentle, in one visit I feel like I can start a healthy mental state with the dentist which feels incredible!
A previous dentist that we saw 2 days prior said my daughter had 10 cavities, gentle dental retook X-rays and confirmed she only had 4 cavities!

So I have had some really bad experiences at the dentist in the last few years and I always dread going, but I just had a cleaning done with Dr. Beacham at gentle dental here in north Las Vegas and let me say it was by far the best dental cleaning experience I’ve ever had. She went above and beyond to clean my teeth and make me feel comfortable as well. She did a great job and made sure I was comfortable and okay the entire time. 10/10 5 stars highly recommend.

Today, I almost cried. After having one of the ‘absolute’ worst dental experiences, I walked into this office feeling anxious, confused, and frustrated.

From the moment I arrived, the entire team was professional, compassionate, and incredibly thorough. Dr. Nadia Beecham took the time to listen to my concerns, clearly explain my treatment options, and reassure me every step of the way. My dental hygienist, Cerena, walked me through the entire process and made sure I knew exactly what to expect—nothing was left unexplained.

Maribel was amazing at breaking down the costs and available options, making the financial side of treatment much less overwhelming. Jack also went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of.

It's rare to find a dental office where every single person genuinely cares about their patients, but this team exceeded my expectations. My first time with this provider and Dr. Nadia Beacham did not disappoint. She is a professional with talent and grace! She took her time explaining the process of the exam and her findings. She examined me the way no other dental provider ever has. She established patient trust just by extending respect and compassion. The dentist is already a bit of an anxiety trigger for some and Dr. Beacham and her dental assistant Jacqueline were both easy and to talk to be honest without feeling judged. I could go on and on. Don't go here if you do get second opinion. THEY CHARGE INSURANCE AND FALSELY CHARGE YOU on top of it. I have insurance AND they STILL tried to charge me 200 for deep cleaning. So i went to another dentist more HONEST at North view dental. The new dentist took my insurance SHOWED me that my insurance ACTUALLY COVERS my deep cleaning they showed me. Gental dental didnt show me and THEY LIED SAYING I HAD TO PAY 200 FOR DEEP CLEANG PER MY INSURANCE. Weird how this new place showed me otherwise. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY OR YOUR TIME...or any Gentle Dental for that matter.

I am perplexed...just so everyone knows, merely surviving your experience, being given a complimentary travel-sized toothpaste, and leaving with half your sanity intact does not constitute a 5-star review.

The first time I came here was for a cleaning - all I received were X-Rays in the two hours I was there, only to be told that I'd need to come back another day for my actual cleaning since they ran out of time. The dentist was friendly at this time, but now I'm thinking it's just because the office didn't manage their time well and she knew she was inconveniencing me. Fast-forward a few weeks and I'm receiving notice that I owe for the X-Rays that I was told were covered by my insurance. Yes, yes, silly me for believing them. After stating my case and calling at least 4 times to the point where the receptionist seemed annoyed with ME, I will say that they removed the charge.

Fast-forward again, but this time a few months, and I decided to give them another chance. I somehow hurt my tooth while chewing and was in extreme pain so they fit me in for an appointment the next day. I showed up and was greeted by the receptionist who was friendly this time. The assistant took me to my chair and joked with me - also super friendly. Then, the dentist came in looking like her spouse asked for a divorce that morning and asked me what was going on. I told her about what happened and that I was in a lot of pain. She proceeded to give me a short, condescending lecture about how she still has to pull my cheek to see my tooth, regardless of the pain I'm in. No sense of empathy whatsoever, but still - I may not have "DMD" behind my name, but I can assure you I'm not so dense that I don't realize that you have look at my tooth and, in order to do so, move all visual hindrances, including my cheek. Thanks. I couldn't believe how rude she was to a patient, much less a patient in so much pain! You are still a business providing a service, and you failed.

"We can't remove it - it's infected and you'll feel everything. Take some Ibuprofen and antibiotics and we'll see you in 7 days." My pain increased to the point where I would wake up crying in pain so I decided to call the Gentle Dental emergency line 2 days later because it was unbearable.
"The doctor on call will call you shortly." I heard nothing for 15 minutes so I called back.
"I'll put another message in. Call back if they haven't called you within 30 minutes." I heard nothing for 30 minutes so I called back.
"All I can do is put another message in. They should call you soon."

It was such a helpless feeling! It's been 3 days and I still haven't received a call from ANYONE, not that it matters anymore.

Luckily, I found a brilliant dentist who took me seriously and brought me in immediately when I told them what was going on. They numbed me up perfectly (which Dr. Beacham said she wouldn't be able to do) and I didn't feel a THING. My pain is completely gone now.

Thanks to Dr. Beacham for turning my case from an extraction into an emergency surgery within 2 days, all while acting like it was a privilege for me to even be speaking to her.

Unfortunately, sometimes you have to go through the bad to find the good, and Gentle Dental, you were that bad. Dr. Beacham caused me unnecessary pain and harm, all while providing lackluster bedside manner and service. HOWEVER, thank you for pointing me towards the good because you and Gentle Dental gave me no choice. Thank you for neglecting my pain and case so much that I ended up having to go elsewhere to receive the best dental experience I've ever had.

I will be looking into contacting my insurance company to report what I went through at Gentle Dental as well as filing a complaint with the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners.

Oh man! Where do I begin? First off I am 1/2 way thru my 60's and have had a few dental experiences. Honestly most have not been good. Thru the years I have developed a fear of going to the dentist. So I again searched for a new dentist and saw this office opening right down the street from me. So once I saw that they were open my wife stopped by to see if they took my insurance and set me up a X -ray and consultation. She set me up an appointment a week or so later. When I went to my consultation EVERYONE in this office was so nice. All the work I needed was explained in detail along with my cost. I held off on reviewing that visit because I wanted to see how the actual "work day" went. So fast forward to today. I was set up for a cleaning and work on two teeth. I was taken in 5 minutes before my scheduled time and They began the cleaning work. Right away the whole experience felt different. Everything felt more modern, More updated if that makes sense. It felt like a cleaning I have never had before. She was very thorough in the process. My last few cleanings at other places were nothing like this. So far so good! 5 star treatment! When the cleaning was done I was moved to another room for the dental work. Again a very professional experience. Everything explained and honestly I was not stressed out like I was with the other dentist I had seen. I usually hold my hands so tight they are ready to fall off by the time it is over. I laid there getting the work done in my cool sunglasses (HAHA) and thinking wow! Where was this team years ago. They went way beyond my expectations. They were very professional yet also very friendly too. So thank you to everyone in this office. I will see ya in a couple of weeks for my new crown.

Giant rip off! They seem to only be interested in up selling expensive procedures. I said NO. My insurance covers a certain amount. For my 2 kids, I needed to pay 191.00 (each) out of pocket. OK, they needed cleaning. All done - all paid. A few weeks later I get another bill. They want an additional 114 dollars. I called and got no where. They charge $355.00 EACH for cleaning and xrays. The insurance company will not pay that much - they know it is too much and a rip off so they won't pay. My next call will be to the insurance company. They will most likely be removed as a provider.

I highly suggest if you need dental care to avoid this place like the plague they are!!! You will NOT be happy.

So I get their response below AFTER I have already talked to them TODAY and they hung up on me! Literally, 15 minutes ago. So no, calling them to "talk" is all bullshit. Its something they put here to try and fool people into thinking they are proactive when they are not at all.

What a Rip-off!! My appointment at Gentle Dental was the worst ever. We sat a lot with nothing happening. The hygienists were buzzing around but weren’t accomplishing much. Didn’t actually see the dentist for over 2 hours. When I finally saw the dentist, even though I regularly see a dentist, she came up with a list of expensive issues as long as my arm. The fees Gentle Dental charge are way more than insurance covers so my out-of-pocket was supposed to be almost $3,000. Even my cleaning was $300 out-of-pocket. After being there for more than two and 1/2 hours nothing was happening so I left. No cleaning done, just an attempt to rip me off. I will be reporting Gentle Dental to my insurance provider. Incredibly slow service and a focus that’s way more on Profits than their patients.

I was looking for a new dentist in my area and decided to try this office. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. I went in specifically for a cleaning, but they focused entirely on pushing fillings and root canals instead. I never received the cleaning I came for, yet they still charged me a $30 co-pay. I expected better communication and service—definitely won’t be returning.

Dr. Awan is an amazing dentist. I had a recent visit in her office. The staff was courteous and I saw the dentist on time. There is no overload in the office, which means that they don’t overbook and thus make us wait long times for tired dentists.
She was very knowledgeable about her profession and she walked me through the x-rays. I was a first time patient and thought I would be spending some time in the office, but she was quite fast and thorough with completing exams etc. I ended up having 3 cavities and needed a cleaning. I was happy with the Doctor’s recommendation because I really thought I would have numerous cavities since I had not been to the dentist for some time. Also, I was happy that she did not try to sell me more —and expensive— treatments.
In sum, I came back with clean teeth, a happy smile and have become a permanent patient of Gentle Dental.
