I have severe dental anxiety from dental trauma as a child. I avoided going to the dentist as I had many bad expereiences even into adulthood. This experience was not one of them. They truly put the Gentle in dental. From the xrays, to the treatment, to the itemized cost breakdown. They handled my anxiety with care. They even work with my terrible insurance company. My only regret is not finding them sooner. I will gladly continue to be a patient.

Absolutely horrible experience, I only went for two visits and will not be returning. This place does not care about your dental health they only care about trying to sell you things you don’t need. I really believe this place is doing shady things with their billing because both me and my fiance were left with bills due to their incorrect billing practices. On both visits their was other patients also disputing billing charges. I would not recommend this place at all. This office is unprofessional and disorganized.

I urge everyone to please listen to these 1 star reviews. I ignored them myself initially because the location was great, and they seemed so nice from receptionist all the way to dentist.

however, after only getting work done once for a simple cavity fill between molars, I have been in constant pain since (7 months) while trying to find a new dentist. the spacing between my teeth changed after they worked on me and now anything I eat, even gum, gets shoved into my gum line where floss or a waterpik cannot remove debris.
I went in for this issue shortly after and was condescendingly told I just wasn’t flossing good enough to remove the debris, “no wonder you’re in pain” even though I tried most of my evening prior to dislodge whatever was causing the irritation. never mind the fact that I never had any issues like this before coming here, right? I now know that it was due to bad work and too much spacing is why I am having so many problems after a simple filling, which due to the bad work could’ve caused more cavities.

I also was supposed to have my wisdom teeth removed here and thank god I didn’t. on two separate occasions I had a scheduled surgery with preop instructions to follow as well as of course putting in the time off of work for the procedure. on both occasions I was called halfway through the day prior to my surgery to tell me my surgeon would not be in the office. now I can understand things come up, however, two instances within a week or so of each other is blatant disrespect and disregard for their patients and their lives. if I didn’t work for such an understanding company, I could’ve easily had troubles at work/ been fired for all the rescheduling and fall throughs being so ridiculously last minute. of course there was no consolation from the office. I voiced how upset I was by this treatment where I was basically told if I didn’t like it to go elsewhere, this is just how they run.

the only time they tried to follow up with me was to have me come in for a cleaning but never once tried to follow up on either of these issues which caused me so much unnecessary stress and pain. even upon saying that I no longer wanted to be a patient of theirs when they tried to schedule the cleaning, instead of seeing why I was so upset with my care, I was told no worries and hung up on after being told i’d be removed from their database. so glad to know their priorities lie in ringing their patients for what money they can before the true nature of their practice shows. also so glad I avoided getting surgery here when a simple filling was messed up so horridly.

please save yourself and be aware of apathetic offices like this who could give a you know what about their patients. my dogs vet has more compassion for a check up than these guys. please find somewhere that will treat you with respect.

p.s.: to whom it may concern at the GD Office, don’t bother responding to this post with the hollow concerned responses i’ve seen to the other reviews. you should treat your patients with respect when they are in your chair voicing their issues. not months later when a bad review could hurt your business and you need to act concerned to rip the next person off. please save yourself the breath

It was the worst experience of my my life with regard to dental care and a dentist's office. Due to an insurance change, I was forced to find a new dental office since the dentist I was seeing for over a decade was not in my new plan.

After the x-rays were completed, I met with Sergio, the hygienist, and he told me that I needed a deep cleaning. I told him I just wanted a normal cleaning and he stated that it wouldn't help me and that it would be malpractice to "regular" clean my teeth. The deep cleaning would force me to pay out-of-pocket for "Gingival Irrigation" that isn't covered by insurance, which is the whole reason for the "deep" cleaning. I then saw the dentist and she told me that I'm doing a great job cleaning my teeth, that I have no cavities and everything is ok.

This is typical of the "shop" dental offices that are trying to squeeze every penny out of the public. Everyone knows that as we age, we have those pockets between our teeth and gums, and the "deep cleaning" scam is the one they always try.

This was a terrible experience. The only part was the lady at the front desk she was very sweet. I knew I was going to have to get a full mouth XRAY and examination. The assistant cut the bottom of my mouth with the piece by forcing it in. She kept telling me to breathe and patting my shoulder when I tried to explain I had a small mouth and could not bite down.

Then the dentist came in he was nice but I could barely understand him he was talking so fast. He left after the examination with useful tips and that a cleaning would happen. Then the hygienist came in without evening examining my mouth he told me I would need deep cleanings and need to do retainers filled with the a paste to help fight an infection at least two times a day. The surgery would not help my gum resending. He told me it was $700 for the custom made retainers and that I would need deep cleanings that later was told it would cost over $300 but could only do a section today.

I had a weird feeling when they walked out to work the billing so I looked at google and read and exact story have happening to someone else. The hygienist Sergio should not be practicing or learn how to make sure the patient is first not whatever commission or kick back he gets from whatever the product is. He was inconsiderate and kept bringing up past work and how my previous dentist/ hygienist did not do anything for me. WILL NEVER GO TO GENTLE DENTAL AGAIN.

It was ok visit. Knowing that your appointment is scheduled the office a was treating me as a new patient. Not says a word I gave them my id and insurance card, they ask what my reason for coming in. I told them have an appointment, next was what for , I explained i was coming in for a follow up.
It was very awkward to explain something that was supposed to be normal. But felt like they weren’t ready for my visit. Attitude needs to be improved with a relationship of your patients. When I gave her my ID and insurance card, they should’ve seen it immediately on the screen and saying good morning have seat. I not sure if there was an error on her system, there wasn’t any acknowledgment of what was going on.
So turn around and took a seat.
The Second Lady beside the first got up and call me to come around , this was the tray assembly I was to pick up. Which was ready early. She explained what it was and how to.
My sister had the same tray assembly.
It’s important to keep a positive attitude while helping people that has unfavorable sense with dentistry. Just a thought.

I was traumatized at this location. The Dr knew I had an infection and still tried to numb me and remove my tooth! Just avoid the whole Gentle dental system! I was at the Stephanie location until the dentist put a crown in and it lasted a few months before falling out so I came to this location and now the office lady flat out lied to me about my insurance coverage. They want me to -at the full amount while the insurance says no we cover that. They want me whole company is a scam! I’m adding to the review because for the second time I go to my appointment, one that I have received several messages stating my date and time (and stating not to be late….) only to be I’m sorry we don’t have what we need please come back later. This whole chain is just ridiculous.

THIS PLACE CONDUCTS INSURANCE FRAUD. YOU DO NOT NEED A DEEP CLEANING! This office is a total SCAM. Went here for my first time and got full mouth X-rays and saw the dentist who said my teeth looked amazing. Then their licensed hygienist Sergio Amezcua, told me I had periodontal disease and that needed to be treated right away. I was scared because I had never heard this before and let him do a deep cleaning on me which took less than 15 minutes. They billed my insurance $900 and made me pay over $300 out of pocket for what insurance didn't cover. This was an absolute scam, as deep cleaning take a minimum of 30 minutes PER QUADRANT and they did my entire mouth in less time than a regular routine cleaning. Luckily I still had a second comprehensive cleaning on my insurance and went to my previous dentist across town who verified that my teeth had no concerns, I do NOT have periodontal disease and did not need a deep cleaning. I also didn't even receive an adequate deep cleaning had I needed one so they are conducting insurance fraud to collect thousands of dollars from your insurance, pretending that you have a serious condition when you DONT. Ironically I called the office to speak with the dentist because I wasn't even sure he knew about this hygienist diagnosing and treating conditions he is not legally allowed to and coincidentally they told me that dentist "no longer worked there" even though I saw him 2 weeks prior. They said another dentist could talk to me but I attempted contact for an entire week and they just stopped answering my phone calls. This place is a completely scam and I will never go to a corporate dentist office again.

In addition, all those positive reviews about Dr. Sherman (I saw him and liked him too), well he is suspiciously GONE so who knows who that have running that place now.

Went to this location. First appointment saw the Dentist. I asked if I could get my cleaning. They said I had to schedule an appointment. I scheduled for a cleaning which turned into a 560 procedure which included antibiotics for a few teeth. I’ve never had a periodontal disease prior to this. I just wanted a regular cleaning. This wasn’t covered under my insurance. They wanted payment as soon as I was done.
I went back for more of this. First I get there and no one is at the counter to check me in. I’m sitting there. I finally see the checkin girl. She looked at me rudely and said you never checked in. I said well no one was here. She then said that will be 215 for today. Cash or card? I just said forget my appointment I’m not going to be treated like this. I feel they’re all about getting you to have all this periodontal work done because most isn’t covered by insurance. I’m not happy and will never go to a gentle dental again. Also, if you call they never answer their phones.

I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had with the office manager, Janese, at Gentle Dental Maryland. The day before my daughter's scheduled wisdom teeth surgery, Janese called and informed me that my daughter only had two anesthesia options: local and laughing gas. Naturally, I asked why general anesthesia--our preference for such a major procedure--was not an option. Instead of respectfully explaining, she repeatedly dismissed my concerns, stating "those are the only two choices."

When I pressed further for an explanation, she finally admitted that the reason was because their office was scheduled for an inspection on the same day as my daughter's surgery. In other words, due to their poor planning and double booking, my daughter was being denied the anesthesia option we had expected and preferred. This was not only unfair but placed my daughter in a position of potentially experiencing unnecessary pain and anxiety.

What made the situation worse was Janese' demeanor. She was rude, unprofessional, and completely dismissive throughout the entire conversation. At one point, she even started screaming at me over the phone. When I asked her not to scream at me, she simply put me on hold instead of handling the matter professionally. She offered no empathy, no apology, and no effort to explain the situation in a respectful or compassionate way. Looks like there is a pattern in this office. If you read other reviews here on Google or other platforms, the staff in this office has yelled at other patients too. Disgusting!

We were really looking forward to their services. This appointment has been scheduled months ago and we all had to take days off for it. Too bad we had to cancel as we lost our trust in this office.

The corporate managers of Gentle Dental need to investigate this matter seriously. Janese' behavior is an unprofessionalism issue that directly affects the company's culture and negatively impacts their patients. Her rude and aggressive behavior should not be overlooked or excused, as no patient or family should ever be treated this way--especially in such an important and sensitive medical situation.

WOW what a surprise after going to 2 other dental offices ,they dentist would not listen ,to what I wanted done , they each prescribe different procedures, finally went to Gentle Dental , Dentist sat with me listen to my request had staff check my coverage , Made a appointment , was in waiting room less then 10 minutes , . Had Extractions , and bone packing , all with out any pain , when I heal then I get my partial , what was great while operating on me he was explaining Exactly what he was doing, (some with Humor)
I am typing this 2 hours after procedure and still no pain or any numbness, I wholly recommend them, Not sure their all the same but here in Las Vegas . on Maryland Parkway they were great.

When for cleaning and an exam by Dr Sherman, he spotted a small cavity and was able to fill the cavity as soon as Sergio finished my cleaning. Every body was polite and professional in giving me good service

Although there is a Gentle Dental office 4.5 miles from my home, I prefere to drive twice the distance to the office on Maryland Pkwy. The office staff and the dental hygienist Sergio, are absolutely the best.

Have an appointment 9:30 just to fix my Invisalign. Still waiting to get in, tell me that it was just going to be in and out. I paid more because the doctor said it was going to be a 6 month treatment, and not a 2 year for bracelet. Is bean over 1 year, and still not good.

Great place if you can wait two weeks for a specialist to see you while teeth decay in your mouth. Staff is friendly need actual dentists/surgeons etc on site. Any other way is bad business for customer, good business for owner due to it being constant cash.

Very clean office, nice staff that went above and beyond to answer any questions i had. I am nervous and anxiety due to getting taken advantage of and i had a very good experience. I am 64 yrs old and need dentures. I am on medicare they treated me right, it may take a little bit of time to get fitted and i am fine with this cause i would like it to be done right not fast. I recommend.

Gentle Dental was very good for me when it was on warm Springs. I had 10 good years of service with that location . Unfortunately My experience has been terrible now that it’s on Maryland Parkway. I even tried the one on flamingo and it’s just as bad.. Over the past 12 months it’s progressively gotten worse, and I have finally decided to pursue a different dentist. they send me text messages all the time to remind me of appointments that I haven’t even made. When I spoke to them directly at Marilyn Parkway that I did not make those appointments I was told sorry there’s nothing we can do about the system generated appointments, even if they are incorrect. Then the appointments that I have made when I show up, they have no records of me being on their schedule Or they have me scheduled for An incorrect time . I feel so awful making this review because my experience was so good there’s so many years, but it is now time for me to move on. I’m pretty sure this review doesn’t matter, but I appreciate you asking me anyway.

The employees, from the front desk, dental hygienist and to the orthodontist are very nice, helpful, professional and friendly. This was our third visit and the review is only based on this visit. The first visit was very timely and received attention and the results we were looking for. The second visit was just to pick up a retainer so that was very easy to do. We were greeted every time. The third visit was just a check up to see about the retainer. We arrived 2 min past the appointment time. We were greeted upon entering. We sat in the lobby for about 10-15 minutes. We were then asked to go in and were placed in the room where he would be checked. We proceeded to wait another 35-45 min before we asked the assistant if it would be much longer to be seen. The score “2” is not indicative of the last two times as I would have scored them higher . It is a 2 1/2 this time as we waited 1 hour for a 3-4 min checkup to make sure the retainer was good. At no point did somebody come in to say they were behind or an emergency was taking place . It was our proactive behavior that asked if we were going to be waiting longer when the answer was “I am not sure, I am asking myself the same question. But it depends on how much longer you are willing to wait “. I don’t generally complain or am picky but if you have an appointment at a certain time and the person is 1 hour late , that is not acceptable, very rude and disrespectful of my time. We had no choice but to wait as my son was leaving for school out of state. The orthodontist came in, took 3 min to check that the retainer fit and offered assistance in the future, but at no time did the acknowledgement of being close to 1 hour late nor an apology was given.
Again, nice people, good service and clean business, so I’m really hoping this was a 1 off. I will return if any issues come up, but I will be very attentive to see if any of these errors in service have been corrected to make my decision on returning a 5th time or discontinue their service.

Been at the old location for a couple of years. Now it’s moved the people have changed. Didn’t read the reviews until just now all correct. I Cancelled both appointments and will advise my family to do the same. On a brighter note called Spanish trails Gental Dental Courtney more than polite and accommodating recommend moving to this location.Update- Spanish trails location fitted both us in within 15mins two X-rays treatment plans and checkups done within an hour recommended fully. Absolute different vibe and experience.
