I’m so pleased to have found Dr. Shimizu. She is warm, comforting, caring, a great listener and provides feedback/information in easy to understand and realistic expectations. I experienced a good and thorough first appointment; was not rushed and had a fair amount of time to get acquainted. She and her lovey assistant are the most proactive duo ever! Needed a referral, was requested on the spot and had that appointment set in less than an hour. (Usually took a month for any movement from previous PCP who always blamed my insurance.)
This doctor and practice truly restored my confidence in the local medical system. I’ve found a “home!”

I was not planning to write a review-- I was just looking for information about Dr. Shimizu, who has been my primary doctor for about three years now. The negative reviews I am seeing prompted me to offer some balance. Complaints about prescription refills, for example, are unfair because they are not the responsibility of the physician! And scheduling. So the credibility of reviewers (and their grasp of how the system works) should be evaluated with that in mind. As for Dr. Shimizu: she posesses the most important skill you can hope for in a doctor-- she is a good listener. And of course she has been well armed at responding to any health issues or concerns I have brought to her. She's been vigilant to test for important health conditions. She does not hesitate to refer me to specialists when either of us believe that would help. And in one case, this resulted in treatment for what might have otherwise slowly developed into a life-threatening condition. I leave you with the word that best reflects my feeling about Dr. Michelle Shimizu: gratitude.

Like getting refills on time? This is not the place. Enjoy being treated with respect? Once again, this ain’t the place. Want accurate descriptions of care policies? Once again: not this place. Staff quality has plummeted while they remain too busy to do anything adequately. After 6 years of being my primary care I’m done with their constant failures.

I have been with Dr.Shimizu for almost 3 years now and to say she has helped me mentally and physically is an understatement. It is near impossible to find a compassionate/ empathetic doctor these days, but you will get the love and treatment you are searching for with Shimizu.
