I absolutely hate the dentist and after terrible experiences with Absolute Dental, coming here was a breath of fresh air. Dr. Garret was wonderful, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable in knowing her plan for getting my teeth on the right track. I also want to thank Dr. Willson I believe is her last name, first name Brittany. She is just a wonderful person overall and made me and my baby feel welcomed, comfortable, and she did a great job cleaning my teeth. Usually, I have a good experience at this Location but I had a tooth extraction in July 2026 and was put on a payment plan one week later I paid the four payment in full one month later they took the payment of $200 from my account. I went to the dentist August 27, 2026 and told the manager they overcharged me for a payment I paid in full and she said it was their mistake. Gave me a refund receipt and told me it should come in the mail between 5 to 7 business days. Now it’s September 10 And still no check in the mail I went to go speak to the assistant manager, and she said that the regional manager has been out of the country and I would have to wait till this coming Monday, September 14th for her to get a hold of the manager But there is nothing else she can do about it. All I’m saying is if you get on a payment plan and pay it full make sure that the managers take you off payment plan. I just don’t understand why the computer is still taking payments if something is already paid in full. Seems like highway robbery

This location was not welcoming or friendly at all. Coming in here felt very transactional. Almost as if I were at a drive thru McDonald's dealing with teenagers who hated dealing with ppl and zero communication skills. While entering the location I was not welcomed or greeted in any way. The women Cheyenne checking me in didn't say hello welcome or even give any eye contact just whats the name? Sign in and have a seat. Then the assistant was exactly the same. No eye contact no personality just sit down take your pics and well look at what's going on. Thankfully this was just a routine checkup. I would not trust them to do the job with the lack of care or interest these ppl carry. To say the least this will be the last time visiting here.

I’ve actually had great experiences coming to this dentist office for my cleanings, but I have been disappointed in their professionalism. This office is very busy where their first available appointment is a few months out. But several times in the past year and a half, this office has rescheduled my appointment due to the dentist no longer being available that day. They would call me ~2 weeks before my appointment, and reschedule me months out. I’d say it happened 3 or 4 times in a row! This postponed my dentist appointment for well over a year.

On 2/19/26, I had an appointment scheduled at 1pm. Finally! One that hadn’t been rescheduled. Earlier that morning, I had another Dr’s appt scheduled at 9am that took way longer than I anticipated, I was there for almost 4 hours. Right before my EKG, it was approaching 1pm. I decided to call this dentist office to see if they could accept me arriving late, or if they had availability to squeeze me in anytime that day. The lady on the phone was cold, stating they have a strict 15 minute grace period. I said, “well shoots, I don’t think I’ll make it there in time. I guess, can we just go ahead and reschedule me for another date?” Except the cold lady on the phone proceeds to tell me that it’ll cost me $25 to reschedule. Whaaaat?!! I explain to her that I’ve already been rescheduled like 3/4 times, not by my choice, and ask if she would be ok with rescheduling me anyways without the fee. She said she couldn’t do that. I asked if she could please reach out to a manager or something to ask for me. She said she would, but I never heard back.

I just feel like if they want to charge $25 to reschedule me, then please run me my $75 check! Anyways… I’ve accepted that I won’t be going back here. Not with all the rescheduling and policies they have.

I really do enjoy the Customer Service # that I receive every time I show up here. The lady at the front check-in counter was very nice. The gentleman that did the x-rays on my teeth and clean my teeth. I believe his name was Brody. He was very personable. I really enjoyed how he was able to answer. I put off dental work way way way too long because of my fear of going to the Dentist. After my very first visit, I had a comfort come over me because of the extraordinary people there! Since the first appointment, I’ve had a few more and I need to recognize Jody, Cheyenne, and Brianna at the front desk for doing such a great job! The assistants, Araceli and Daisy are awesome and make you feel very relaxed before things get started. Dr. Radloski and Dr. Ellsworth turned what used to be scary procedures into a process that didn’t have me holding my breath and saying please don’t hurt. The Car Mechanics Of Dentistry STAY AWAY!! RIP OFF PRACTICES !! I went to this dentist years ago and forgot why I stopped coming. Went back today and remembered. These people will do everything possible to steer you into a periodontal treatment when it isn’t needed. Went in for a regular cleaning and was told I have a mild case of periodontal disease and need a drop cleaning that would cost me upwards of $2500. When I said I just want a regular cleaning, they denied me saying with this diagnosis we can’t go forward with a normal cleaning. I am a daily flosser and care for my teeth. I did not need this treatment. No dentist has ever told me as much. They scare people in to thinking you need more done than you do. They remind me of car mechanics.

Today I received my first crown. I was both excited and nervous to get my chipped tooth fixed. From start to finish, Jodie, Dr Carlos, Cheyenne, and Jemm were all amazing. The crown fit perfectly. Jemm takes pride in her work making sure each crown is her best! We listened to island vibe music on her phone while she polished the crown. So chill! I’m thankful my wife recommended I go here. This was my first experience with civilian dentists in 22 years, since I was formerly cared for by Air Force dentists. Both Jemm and Dr Carlos’ table side manner was impeccable. Friendly, honest, was brought back 10 mins before my appointment. I’ve requested both Jemm and Dr Carlos moving forward. Coffee and water offered in the waiting area, definitely a plus! Overall, great experience! Highly recommend Montecito Town Center Dental Group if you’re in the area!

I was at Montecito for teeth cleaning on March 18, 2026. The person took a lot of x-ray and the dentist name Alicia Carlos was the one who checked my gums. She said that what I need was full mouth deep cleaning. I was shocked when she said that to me. I told her that I brush and floss my teeth everyday and my gums not bleeding at all. She said what I need was deep cleaning and some other things that needed to be done like pulling tooth and crown. I said, ok I want to have the deep cleaning first and scheduled my appointment on April 7, 2026 for full mouth deep cleaning.
While waiting for my appointment, I decided to have a second opinion. I went to a different dentist on March 30, 2026 and the hygienist checked my gums and the dentist checked it too. I was told that I don't have pockets in my gums and what I need was just regular cleaning. The hygienist cleaned my teeth and he said no bleeding and the dentist said that my teeth are good.
I am so glad that I went for second opinion and another dentist from Tropicana area told me that some dentist will really say that you need deep cleaning even though you don't need it.
Beware of Montecito, my friend warned me in the beginning not to go to this place because of his bad experience.

For overall service I give this place a 5 Star for cleanliness, friendliness and care.The reason I bumped it down to a 4 * is because when they were "delivering" my implant they KNEW it would be painful by her comments and yet didn't incorporate numbing for the procedure. I felt like my jaw was cracking and it was extremely painful. She did ask me if I wanted to be numbed AFTER because she had to take the tooth off for adjustment and put me through the pain AGAIN. I just don't understand why a shot of painkiller before the procedure isn't STANDARD especially when they know it it is painful from other patients comments. It should be STANDARD because it was ridiculously painful even though I have a high pain tolerance. The pain just wasn't necessary.

BE AWARE!
The worst place! Front desk said this visit will be covered 100% by my insurance. I had a new patient exam and cleaning and I told them I think I have one cavity. The person who took the x-rays was late and super slow. When she was finally done the doctor came to do the check up and said “I didn’t see any cavities on the x-rays and I would have missed that if you didn’t say anything but I think you are right”. She thinks I am right but still isn’t sure if I have a cavity or not??? She is the dentist and can’t tell for sure?? She also first said everything looks great and then she changed her mind after doing the gum test and said my X-rays shows my gums were number 3 from the picture. Kind of funny how that changed so fast from everything looks great to you have a gum disease! They didn’t clean my teeth because I refused to pay $500 out of my pocket after the insurance cover for deep cleaning that I didn’t want. That $500 was going to cover only the first part of the cleaning because they can’t do full mouth. Total scam place! They didn’t do anything else than give me very expensive treatment plan. $1600 out of my pocket after insurance. I told them I want a second opinion. Going to see a real dentist today. Never going back to this place! What a waste of time! Going to make sure my insurance company is aware of this scammer place!
I also got nasty attitude from the woman who answered the phone after I called and said I want them to email my photos so I can take them to the next dentist office.

After years of being afraid of the dentist, I think my latest visit to the Montecito Town Center may have changed my mind.

The entire staff was so kind and understanding of my fear, especially Brody, who walked me through everything happening and made sure I felt comfortable throughout my visit. The X-Rays he did took no time at all, which I usually feel take sooo painfully long. Brody was so funny and welcoming and definitely helped me not feel so afraid.

Dr. Garrett was amazing!!! She was so good and made me feel comfortable the entire time. I couldn’t believe how fast the appointment went by. I also appreciated the option to use a less invasive approach to fixing some issues I had, which made this whole process way less intimidating.

I had a tooth extraction with bone graft performed by Dr. Carlos on January 24. When I arrived for my appointment, I was not previously informed that a bone graft would be part of the procedure. This was explained to me only after the doctor entered the room and stated that this was what would be done. I agreed once it was explained, but the lack of prior communication was concerning.

During the procedure, Dr. Carlos explained that she could manage pain but not pressure and instructed me to raise my left hand if I felt pain. When I did exactly that, I was scolded and told sharply that she had sharp tools in her hand and did not want to hurt me. While I understand the need for caution, the tone felt irritated and unprofessional and made an already stressful situation worse.

Three days later, on January 27, I contacted the office because I had a foul odor in my mouth and was waking up choking on blood. I was asked to come back in. At that visit, I was told the sutures were not good and the membrane had dislodged. Dr. Carlos restitched the area. I specifically asked whether I should wear my night mouth guard since I grind my teeth, and I was told no, so I did not wear it.

The following morning, the membrane came out again along with an entire stitch. When I called to schedule another visit and asked whether this happens and if I could see another provider, the front desk staff told me that I had worn my mouth guard and that is why this happened. This was incorrect and not what I told the doctor, yet it was documented that way in my chart. When I clarified this, I was met with a dismissive response of “We are trying to do our best, Corrine,” which felt unhelpful and unprofessional given the situation.

Additionally, during my first visit I was double charged and had to have that corrected.

Overall, I was very disappointed by the lack of clear communication, poor bedside manner, inaccurate charting, and dismissive front office interaction. While I understand complications can happen, how concerns are handled and how patients are treated matters just as much. I was never rude, just a patient asking questions trying to understand something I’ve never had done before. Based on my experience, I would recommend going elsewhere.

Poor communication regarding billing. I had a routine dental visit with X-rays and a cleaning and was told in advance that the visit would be fully covered, so I relied on that information when consenting to services. Nearly a year later, I received an unexpected bill with no prior explanation (sent via text, which went to my junk folder). The cleaning felt rushed and not very thorough, and my time with the doctor was very limited. I contacted the office to address the issue, but the front desk was not helpful. Overall, the experience lacked transparency and attention to patient care.

1st appointment at Montecito Dental, I was very impressed with the professionalism. From check in to procedure completion. Cheyenne handled check in flawless. I had been a patient with Montecito for 3 years. Always very pleased with the high quality facility and the excellent staff. They were willing to work with me on cash payments before I got insurance coverage and I had zero complaints.
However I recently lost my job and of course the insurance that went with it. When I recently returned for a routine cleaning they wanted to charge me $437 for a ROUTINE FOLLOW UP CLEANING. This is not only excessive but ABUSIVE, borderline insanity IMHO. So after years of happy interactions I was forced to find a different dentist who charges $99 for initial cleaning with Xrays and $99 follow up cleanings. I have no idea how they think $437 is remotely acceptable. I can only imagine if they feel it's okay to abuse existing patients in this way what kind of bogus inflated charges they are hitting the insurance company with. I'm sure practices like this are why we have a health care cost crisis in this country right now.
Under NO circumstances would I ever recommend Montecito Dental to anyone ever again.
Stay away from this place! They are deceptive and bill and will bill you fraudulently. I hope they are investigated and fined for whatever it is they are doing.

I met Dr. Garrett after a traumatic bicycle accident in July 2023. Everyone was so extremely helpful and caring from the beginning. After 2.5 years of root canals and braces, I now have permanent crowns on my front teeth. I am so grateful to the entire staff but especially Dr. Garrett herself.

Montecito Town Center Dental is honestly the best dental office I have ever been to. From the moment I walked in, the front desk team was welcoming and organized. Kailey took care of all my insurance questions and made everything easy to understand. She checked me in quickly and made the whole process feel smooth.

My hygienist was incredibly gentle and thorough. She explained everything she was doing, which helped me feel comfortable the entire time. The doctor was also great. He was professional, friendly, and took the time to walk me through my treatment plan without making me feel rushed. I really appreciated how they focused on my long-term dental health instead of trying to push unnecessary services.

The office is clean and modern, and the atmosphere is calm. The entire visit felt easy. I left feeling well taken care of and confident about my dental care moving forward.

I have been a patient since 2016 and compensated this dentist handsomely during my tenure as a patient.

I consistently had issues with major medical work they performed. Crowns have fallen off multiple times. The crowns they upsell as being completed in office / same day install.

In the past they've always honored their work / have made themselves available to correct any issues.

Since my insurance relapsed and I switched to cash pay I was turned into a pariah despite paying over $10k in deductibles over the years. Always paying the fluoride or misc up charges. They treat dentistry like a car dealership. Upselling aftermarket packages and charging additional fees. After 8 years, I'm done.

There is no patient loyalty. They are rude, invalidating, inconsiderate and the service they provide is downright disappointing. Loved my last dentist (Dr. Garret) but the front desk staff is trash.

If you want your $5k crown to come off in a year, this is the place.

It was my first time there. The office was bright with a comfortable atmosphere. Brianna, checked me in and out, with a friendly smile and answered any questions I had. Shanique, the assistant, also greeted me with a warm smile. She made me comfortable in the X-ray room and in the exam room and she answered any questions I had. Lori, the hygienist, cleaned my teeth to protection and answered questions I had. Dr. Garrett checked to make sure things in my mouth were doing okay, with a friendly greeting and questions answered.

I was at the Montecito Town Center (7125 N Durango) dental office for a side piece of filling that came out. After an X-ray, the Dr advised me that he could not fill it in because there was a cavity underneath the filling (could've been there for years). I told him that I wasn't having any pain or sensitivity from that tooth now or before. The Dr also said he couldn't take out the old filling and replace with a new one cause there wasn't enough tooth remaining. I said I'm good with just filling the small piece in. The Dr then said it wasn't 'legal' for him to do that knowing there was a cavity underneath filling. He was quick to say that I would need a crown which cost over $1000.
I decided to get a second opinion from a Dr that's been in business over 40yrs. He took an Xray, and said "easy fix!' Hmmm what happened to all of the nonsense that the Dr told me.
This is absolutely disgusting practice! For a dentist to lie right to a patience face is despicable! This is one of the worst, most deceptive experiences that I have ever had!

Last time I was here for a routine exam, I verbally asked check in person to only do the exam and cleaning procedures specifically fully covered by insurance. Then she said she is removing fluoride. About 3 weeks later they started sending emails, text messages about outstanding bill of $100, saying it was deductible. I called my insurance and got assured that I don't have deductible and my preventative dental care is fully covered. What Montecito did was taking too many x-rays without my consent and agreement, more than what a good reasonable de tal insurance covers against my verbal request to not do anything covered by insurance. Similar things happened to my wife too with this office but in the past they would correct their mistakes. I just learned that they sent this $100 to collection. I immediately canceled my future appointment with them and sharing my experience with you so you are informed. This is my opinion: they feel they don't make enough money off of you and thru insurance unless you need expensive procedures thus they inflate the routine exam and cleaning tasks. I should not be penalized for having healthy mouth and for not needing rootcanals. They lost me as a lifelong customer. Happy smiles everyone!

I had a tooth chip yesterday and Montecito was able to get me in the same day I called! I had Shauna as the dental assistant and she was so sweet, even offered to get me a blanket if I happened to be cold before my filling began. My experience started off as a great experience, i had Uriel who was Kind and very welcoming and helpful. I was then sat in the chair where Uriel took my x rays. The bad experience started with how Doctor Garret treated myself and Uriel, her actions of how she disrespected Uriel in front of me, I truly felt uncomfortable how could i trust someone who acta in such way ,she even went as far as aggresively snatching the keyboard away from him. Montecito dental misdiagnosed my husband (got a second opinion). They also tried to overcharge without submitting a pre authorization. Go to discovery dental instead. Montecito dental is a bunch of crooks. And have lost our business. Angela should be fired.

EDIT: THE LADY AT THE FRONT DESK ANGELA (who apparently is the office manager no wonder she doesn’t get fired) JUST CONFIRMED THAT SHE VIOLATED HIPPAA IN ORDER TO MAKE ME “HAPPY” Shes been giving me my husbands medical information for weeks now and suddenly she requested a HIPPAA release form to discuss my husbands account, and when I said “so you violated hippaa to tell me about my husband?” And she said “well I just wanted to make you happy”. Angela was very rude. They called me to reschedule my appointment because they are remodoling the office on my schedule appointment. I asked when they next availbilty would be and she said five weeks from today. I told her if could talk to someone else getting an early appointment she said no, then I asked if I could talk to someone and she said no. I asked if there was way to get me an appointment during the week around 6pm. She said we have a highenisst that work at 6pm on Wednesday. She put ne on hold "to check" and said it looks like we only have available the appointment 5 weeks from today. She was very rude and sarcastic when she interacted with me on the phone. Clearly she didn't want to work with meat all and do it her way. Very disappointed because tge appointment I initially has was made over 2 months ago.
