Came here to shadow the physical therapy profession and it was the greatest possible first impression. Everyone who works here possesses great energy and friendliness in an atmosphere that would likely feel much colder anywhere else. Talking to patients was especially inspiring when they shared their stories of how NCEP changed their lives. The professionals here are truly invested in improving the long term well-being of their patients.

I'm 1.5 years post stroke. I have no one helping me with my recovery. I've had failed therapy to where I can't even do proper movements. As well as have more complications on top of my issues from having a stroke. So I started down this path trying to find help or fix myself. I found this place by accident. Reached out and did have an interview. Was told I needed to switch my insurance plan to another company. I tried doing for an entire month with nothing but run around and dead ends. But I still stayed trying as well as keeping contact with the individual I spoke with to keep hey in the loop with what's going on. My insurance plan suggested sing a one time request so they could possibly pay for it. Apparently that wasn't done. It's about 1.5 months later and I'm still stuck like Chuck nowhere near getting the help I need than when I first started. And then I ran across this place being "non-profit " apparently they're non-profit for profit which is understandable because they need funds to help staying operable. But what I don't understand is why am I not getting any kind of help or at least guidance? Apparently it's normal for someone who suffered a stroke to play doctor, therapist, Orthopedic, and whatever as well as diagnose and give ourselves treatment in our own.

My life is not the same because of NCEP.
My name is Floyd White and I am a survivor of three strokes in 2024. Laying in the hospital bed not able to walk or move my left Extremities, I wondered how could I ever recover from this?
Then I was introduced to NCEP by one of the Hospital administrators. The representative being very positive and kind share the program with me and I accepted.
Upon my arrival at Ncep from the hospital, I was greeted by one of the wonderful staff members who cared for me and eased all of my frustrations.
I was a part of the in- patient program and they Helped me with every issue.
My therapy schedule was five days a week, five hours a day. I want you to know I worked very hard. I gave it my all plus some. Every worker treated me with Care, concern and respect. One thing that impressed me was the fact everybody knew your name. I didn't feel like another number, but an important part of a great opportunity.
I am back home, living independently and still continuing therapy weekly. I like to stay positive, so I adapted a saying, I'm getting better every day. And this is truly happening in my life. Thank you again, NCEP For your part in my recovery journey. I feel like I've joined a new family who cares about me. I have gained positive relationships with former clients and we encourage each other even though we're not in the program actively.
So, I didn't know how I would recover, but because of NCEP, I'm a better man today. I am walking and gaining more strength on my left side.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

This facility and staff are responsible (after the surgeons) for me being able to return to work with a few months of an auto accident that left me in a coma, suffering a severe TBI. I owe my wellbeing to this organization (again, the surgeons saved my life).

I don’t even know where to start sharing all the great things about NCEP.
First and foremost the staff will treat you and your family with respect and kindness. Your voices will be heard. That could be the single most important thing for me. Not being dismissed because I’m disabled!
NCEP is the only full day comprehensive neurological rehab program in the valley. It’s a group setting with some one on one mixed in. You will meet amazing people from all walks of life who are all there for the same reason. Recover. Where else’s can you go Monday through Friday from 9-3 and receive 25 hours a week of comprehensive therapy? That’s unheard of !!
The therapy is in your hands. You decide what your goals are and the team will help you work towards achieving them! You get out what you put in!
The community with others who have been afflicted is very important for mental health. With so much change happening hearing from others going through it sometimes helps to make it easier.
I have received great therapy here
I have made a lot of friends
I have been inspired by the people here.
I will always be grateful to everyone at NCEP!

I went to Ncep a few times. I still needed therapy after a major stroke. The staff here are very caring and want you to get better. I made lots of progress and continuing what I learned to make more improvement. I highly recommend this place you can do your therapy all in one place. I was so thankful for being able to do my therapy here.

My experience with this clinic’s physical therapy services has been very disappointing. The therapists change almost every session and do not seem to know the patient’s condition. In one session, the male therapist did not even realize my brother’s left arm was paralyzed and repeatedly let it drop and hit surfaces, which was unsafe and painful. Staff were also unfamiliar with basic equipment like the Standing Frame Chair, wasting most of the session without meaningful therapy. Sessions were often cut short when transportation arrived early, even though time was still left. Overall, my family member’s time and effort were not respected. I would not recommend this clinic for rehabilitation.

This place is amazing! The people really are special! I slowly walked into this place with pain and dizziness. I was not sure about my diet and my metal capacity to handle all the recovery that I needed.
They have people for every one of my problems. It was very nice to find a group of people that could listen to my problems and help me find solutions. They took me step by step through the ways of making me feel better and improve my mental and physical health.
I learned so much about diet, taking care of my mental needs and so much about my ability to handle cardiac recovery.
They were patient with me when I was not feeling the best and were able to push me when I needed pushing.
I can’t thank them enough for all the wonderful things they did for me and these are lessons that I will use to make a better life for myself.

Can't say enough good things about this program. Wonderful therapists and support staff, they really do an incredible job of making you feel welcome and embraced. They are helping my son gain back some strength after a stroke and we see incredible strides. My son is excited to come to therapy, which I think says alot! I'm so appreciative of everyone involved in the program.

Great therapy (5 stars) but case management is less than stellar (2 stars.) Be prepared for constant surprises and last-minute changes; constant reminders and checks are necessary.
Our brother had a stroke in April 2024. We enrolled him in NCEP as a day patient, then transferred to the in-patient setting. The multi-pronged therapy seemed excellent, and he made great improvements.
However, we were constantly being surprised by the case managers. They are either very overtasked (likely) or undertrained, and both we worked with never seemed to remember exactly which client they were talking about. The transfer from day to in-residence wasn’t smooth; I don’t know if the case managers talked at all. There is NO access to their supervisors, which became a huge issue for us. (None of us live in the Las Vegas area, which made communication even more challenging, although with email and phones it shouldn’t be.) The transition out of NCEP was terrible.
In the July progress meeting, the case manager had told us that our brother was doing great, and they loved having him in the program, and wanted him to continue for the foreseeable future. Less than a month later, we were asked what our long-term housing and transition plan was, because they wanted our brother to leave the program immediately. And the case manager had taken it upon herself to speak to our brother about living with one of us, which we’d already told her several times was NOT an option. She seems to have memory issues and poor note-taking skills.
I then sent a sternly-worded email expressing our surprise, dismay, and unhappiness. We had an in-person meeting, where they explained that our brother’s progress had slowed, and the intense therapy they offered was no longer appropriate. Which I completely understand, however, that’s not what the case manager had previously told us. She also told us he couldn’t stay in 1915i housing, which is NOT true. We agreed that he could move to a different location with less supervision, but the program housing is administered by the Nevada Medicaid 1915i provisions, not NCEP directly. They do not have the right to kick anyone out.
At this point, I really wanted to speak with a supervisor, but that is impossible—there is no public listing available, and the case manager stonewalled us.
Our brother remains in 1915i housing, and has actually made great progress all on his own. Because even though the NCEP case manager promised to transition him to day PT, Speech therapy and job counseling, she did NONE of that. She dropped him like a rock. The staff at the housing—who are awesome—had to start from scratch, and get referrals for all his therapy. Therefore, there was a break of almost 2 months in therapy, which should be unacceptable.
Fortunately, our brother was self-motivated to improve his walking and reading on his own, and has done remarkably well. I believe the intense therapy NCEP provided gave him a good foundation. However, he might have done even better if the proper transition had occurred. I give the staff at the housing a lot of credit, too; they are excellent.
NCEP’s case managers require a lot more training and supervision. And clients should have access to a supervisory level when things go wrong, because they will.
I would not hesitate to use NCEP’s services, but be prepared to advocate for your patient, because you’ll need to. I recommend reviewing the Nevada Medicaid 1915i webpage, so that you know the law involved. And I hope this review prepares you for the lack of transition out of the program.

This is the most amazing program I have ever seen. I have been in Las Vegas since 2016 working as an occupational therapist. I wish I knew about it! Unfortunately I had a heart attack and stroke in September of 2022. It left me unable to walk, use my right arm and leg, speak or take care of myself. I was lucky to get admitted to NCEP’s neuro program last July. This place is wonderful. I have never seen a staff more caring and hard working. I honestly think had I known about NCEP prior to my event, I would’ve gotten a job there. I graduated this past August. I am walking for short distances, I am able to do my self care and I am using my right arm as an assistance. I am doing so much better. Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy were amazing. They were so inspiring during my stay there. Always positive. From the top people in administration, to the therapists, the therapy assistants to the rest of the staff, everything they did was always with us getting better in mind. I am now in the cardiac therapy working on getting my heart stronger. This entire organization is incredible. I am forever grateful to them. I strongly recommend this place.

I highly recommend the physical rehab program at NCEP. The staff is OUTSTANDING! I have talked with many patients that have been there and they say the same thing. Compared to other program in the LAS VEGAS area they are by far the best. Thank you again for all your help NCEP!

Nevada Community Enrichment Program (NCEP) is truly exceptional in the field of brain injury rehabilitation. After suffering a stroke that affected my ability to walk, I entered their program and, within just a month, was able to walk fast and unassisted. The entire team at NCEP is highly skilled, compassionate, and focused on helping patients regain their independence. Their comprehensive approach to rehabilitation includes personalized therapy that targets both physical and cognitive recovery. If you or a loved one are in need of top-notch brain injury rehabilitation, I highly recommend NCEP. They changed my life!

My family is finally getting the care they need. I only wish I would have found them sooner! The staff is always friendly and informative. And go above and beyond to make sure nothing is over looked. These people really care and it shows! I couldn’t be happier to have found such an amazing resource. The team truly feels like an extension of the family.

My daughter and our family were in dire need of a compassionate and effective continuing health care recovery program from brain surgery…when we were introduced to NCEP on UNLV campus on Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas. We’ve found them to be patient and willing to adjust to our family’s concerns and my daughter’s adjustment around her brain surgery. We’ve found their willingness to include family a breath of fresh air… Thank you, NCEP😊.

I came back from UCLA after a massive brain tumor. I wasn't able to talk, much less communicate. These people went so far out of the way to help me. I was there for 3 months and by the time I was done I could walk and speak with ease. Thank you guys for the encouragement!

My son was a client here. I was disappointed after I was told this is the best place in Nevada. He was here 7 months and the progress he made was because I micromanage his progress. I had a lot of meetings with the therapist, case manager, and director of the facility. If you are a person of color there is a difference in your treatment. My son was in a chair and now he is walking on a 4 wheel walker but that's because I stayed on them. The technicians are nice. Lisa and Adina.

This place used to be awesome.
My dad was a patient in 2019 and he loved the type of therapy he received.
He is trying to go back, his doctor send his paperwork several times but nothing had happened.
I called recently and I asked to speak with the Director.
The "new Director" Julie was so rude and unprofessional.
After me trying to understand why they couldn't take my dad back, She basically told me that she didn't have time to resolve my dad's insurance issues that I needed to talk to the case manager which of course we have been trying to contact but no one has called us back.
I don't understand how people like her could be the director of a clinic that rehabilitates people. Awful service coming from the director
So disappointed with this place.

When I started I was in a wheelchair when I graduated I left on my both two feet and working on my arm. They had the love and patience to help me and others out! If you don't leave there with an improvement it's cause your hard headed and aren't willing to listen to them! Definitely recommend this place to anyone in or out of the state!!
