We love this office. The staff and Dr. Cheung are all friendly and knowledgeable. They were patient with my 9 year old and Dr. Cheung recommended a newer type of lense for my child's glasses that prevent further deterioration. The office is clean and well kept, and the frame selection is huge. Highly recommend!

Dr. Cheung is amazing! She is so experienced, patient, and wonderful. She really explained things well and showed me imaging and details that were great to know about my vision and my eye health! Then Julie helped me pick out my glasses and the right lenses and details for me! She was also so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend these ladies and this location for eye exams and glasses!!

I booked an appointment here earlier this week and was genuinely excited to see a new optometrist. I arrived 15 minutes early, but the greeting I received was anything but welcoming. A visibly annoyed woman came to the front desk told me there was no appointment scheduled for me, not today or any other day.

I calmly asked, “So what’s next?” She replied in a tone like I was inconveniencing her: “Not until next Tuesday.” I quickly checked my work schedule asked if there was anything else. Her response? A dismissive “Wellllll…” with zero apology or effort.

At that point, I asked, “Am I bothering you? You seem like you’d rather be anywhere but here helping me.” She stared at me blankly and said, “I’m just telling you, you don’t have an appointment.” At that point. I told her to forget it, I’d find another provider.

Dr. Cheung may have great reviews, but they’re completely overshadowed by the unprofessional front desk staff. Losing a client might not matter to much, but maybe bad reviews do.

Dr. Cheung, find someone who WANTS to work, and would be happy to great your clients kindly.

Horrible customer service!!!! I had glasses stolen on the bus off of my face! And because they were not broken I was denied replacement immediately the lady I spoke to did know the definition to simple words! Our education in employees who work at these establishments needs to be a lot more strict! There are other companies that have so so much better customer service!!! I would not recommend this company for your needs to be taken care of! They are just another company ripping Americans off!!!

Lovely office with super patient and kind staff. I took a rowdy 5 year old boy and a rowdy six year old with special needs and they were full of energy today. Every person treated us kindly and with patience and got it done. ❤️ Appreciated endlessly and I’ll get my husband and I in now 😅.

Simply the best! From beginning to end, everything about the appointment is top notch- check in, exam, and the amazing doctor explains absolutely every about the change in prescription or necessary modifications. The office staff helps with every step & is extremely patient with new frames & all of the financials pertaining to insurance. I have been coming to this particular location for several years even though there is an Optic Gallery within 3 miles of my home because the doctors and staff actually make for a “5 star” appointment experience!

I called to make an appointment but my insurance was not under my name. The employee Sam went out her way to ensure service was still provide. She located my insurance and provided me with a great exam. She was amazing with confidence and great communication. She is the reason I will be returning. Thank you Optic Gallery Decatur. If I were you, I would not book an appointment with this facility in particular. They sent the paperwork through text & did not explain all the details when I went in for my appointment. I ordered a pair of glasses & not even 2 hours after my appointment I called to cancel the order. I was told it was taken care of but the following day they called & said I couldn’t cancel & had to pay for the reminder of the glasses I no longer wanted. When asked about the return policy, they said it was “in the paperwork” which was not reiterated to me before signing for the order. I would go with any other optometrist facility, if possible. I can see why this facility was able to get me in so quickly… Optic Gallery on Eastern & Oquendo has much friendlier & more knowledgeable staff!

I've went here throughout the years due to their attention to detail. Last visit, they upsold without an explanation of charges and didn't get what went there for. Partly my fault for trusting them. Good experiences with scheduling and the exam, however.

My wife and I have had several pairs of glasses made here. The service is always professional and the frames always fit perfect upon pickup with no adjustment needed. Huge variety of frames and styles to choose from. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone.

My old optometrist (JC Penny) is no longer available. Instead I unfortunately found these women deceitful. 1] They quoted me $664 for glasses. I declined. Instead I took my new RX to my old eyeglass provider (Payne). 2] The RX is questionable since I can't see out of the new glasses. Payne provided a full refund and will replace them. But, I trust Payne and not Optic Gallery on Sahara. 3] So, I asked for a second opinion and was told by Sandra at Optic Gallery that the amount charged to my insurance for an eye exam was returned so I could find another provider, which I preferred. 4] The eye exam was not returned but I did find out 5] that my insurance was billed and they paid $225 for eyeglasses (which I never got nor did I approve.) 6] I am disputing the insurance charge so I can find another optometrist. But, my insurance told me it will take 30 days. I am so disgusted by the deceit of this organization. Also, 7] the name they are using is not Optic Gallery but some person named Chen. Stay away. Any positive reviews about these people I find very suspicious.

Staff was very helpful! I forgot my medical card with my son...rather than rescheduling they suggested i call my son and have him send a copy of my card. I then emailed the copy to them right from my cell phone and was able to proceed with my eye exam. Doctor was great, was precise and clear. Picking out glasses was easy....i would definitely recommend Optic Gallery for eyecare!

Great customer service.. took my 9 yr old and she was really nervous because she didn't know what to expect being her first eye exam but the Dr was super great with her and she was totally comfortable with the Dr. She was extremely nice and then after the exam the Dr's assistant helped us pick out glasses and my daughter, though pretty picky, got her first pair of glasses picked out in about 15 min and the assistant was great through the whole thing. Would recommend to anyone.
