Dr. Kang did a revision hip replacement on my dads hip just over a year ago. My dad is in his early 60s and incredible active. The original hip replacement done by a different doctor (who is now passed away) was perfect and lasted over 20 years. Dr. Kang discussed the procedure with my father and assured him he would use the same part to replace the old one. When doing the surgery Dr. Kang decided to use a different part which altered the length of my fathers leg. This caused immense discomfort that lead to knee pain, back pain and a complete downturn to my dads quality of life. The Dr. and assistant that my father saw for follow up appointments told him to give it time and let it settle. After waiting months with no relief they gave him an insert for his other shoe and told him that was all they could do. My father did pursue legal counsel and was told that although the revision was off and the Dr. used a different part they didn’t feel his case would be successful because it was not off by a large enough amount. I am writing the review now because my dad was able to see another surgeon in Las Vegas who did another hip surgery to perfection. He is going on over a month now and all of the pain and discomfort caused by Dr. Kang is gone.

I had my right hip replaced on March 3rd, 2025 by Dr. Parminder Kang at Centennial Hills Hospital. The surgery went quite well and recovery happened exactly as described in literature provided. Dr. Kang and all of the Desert Orthopaedic personnel are to be commended on their professionalism and manner. They made a painful and trying time into a satisfying healing process. The physical therapy at the Desert Orthopaedic location headed by Erika was also a rewarding experience. They were a great team who knew what they were doing and aided in my healing process. Dr Kang is an amazing surgeon with a fun personality. My hip replacement was virtually pain free at the surgical site and the rest of the leg. Strength returned in a couple months do to the excellent surgery and the best therapist I have ever had, Christina. The support staff regularly checked in with me until my release. The team method where all surgical, anesthesia, medical staff and therapists work together as one is a winner!

I am so so grateful that Dr Kang was my physician. Never having surgery in the past, I didn’t know what to expect. He never tried to talk me into anything, including surgery. He was very patient and explained to me my options. The day of the surgery I was so scared and petrified but his soft humble demeanor assured me everything was going to be fine. I was given a booklet beforehand that explained everything in detail (however I choose not to read it until I was in recovery). I really didn’t want to know. Yesterday I had my final follow up exam and I am so happy to say I am better than I can remember. I have no regrets and would do it again…. if it were Dr Kang doing the surgery !!!!!!!

Im 66 years old,played football and baseball through college. Worked hard in the construction and maintaince fields for over45 years. Until in November of 2023 I couldnt do my job anymore. Soon after haveing to retire, I couldnt walk anymore.Being active in outdoor activities my life was looking very depressed. Haveing a younger girlfriend I was really concerned about our future also. Fortunatly she pushed me to get the proper medical care. After many seemingly useless run arounds and time waisted visits, With my new Primary Dr. Bui, young and beautiful , got me an appointment with Dessert orthopedics, Dr. Kang. I watched every angle and watched every video I could find on the complete procedure and recovery time. Within 3 weeks I was scheldued for Left hip replacement. Then again in 4 weeks for my right total hip. Every question was answered in completeness and I was ready. I couldnt believe that the night of surgery I was able to sleep without pain in hip. Therapy was tough because I still had pain in right hip. Anxious to get it done,Dr. Kang once again preformed his miracle magic . Im here to tell everyone who needs this surgery to do it. My quality of life has been recovered and my girl is happy also. Just had my second full knee replacement surgery done due to old injury & arthritis last week Tue., Aug.29th on my left knee w/Dr Kang. He and & his Staff are outstanding excellent, stupendous etc., etc., Like Dr. Kang said, I will be up & walking same day & he was right. I was up with help from P.T. and the walker to start walking. The following day same thing up & walking & learning familiar exercises from my previous full right knee replacement surgery in 2015. Dr. Kang had to pretty much reconstruct my Tibia because it was damaged so bad due to my car accident. All I can say is Dr. Kang is THEE Best & I highly recommend he & his staff. Dr. Kang did my Total Left Knee replacement on 12/6/2022. I am 5 months post surgery and have recovered quite well. Not completely out of pain and discomfort yet but I am hope ful that by the end of the year I will be totally pain free. I am a very analytical person and Dr. Kang was extremely patient answering my questions multiple times during multiple visits. I had a known Nickel Allergy and he helped me narrow down the implant that would be best for me. His Staff is excellent also. Especially Kim the medical assistant and his PA Sherry. Almost thirty days prior to surgery I was given tons of information to prepare me for surgery. The staff covered things that I never even thought about like having things handy, diet and exercise, equipment that I was going to need, etc etc. Right before surgery Dr. Kang and staff were caring, professional and efficient. Once the surgery was performed I was showered with excellent follow ups and did I mentioned that Dr. Kang had flowers delivered to my hospital room? I had a great experience at Dr King's office. The people up front that greet you were very friendly and accommodating. I needed a special kind of chair due to my size and they took time out of their day to find me one. They never once looked down on me like a lot of people in offices like this do and I appreciated that. The waiting room was covid 19 appropriate and was only in there a short time before they took me back to the exam room. I was triaged by a very nice young lady who kept calling me my dear which I thought was charming! No one condescended to me, they were all very interested in my well-being. When Dr Kang came in I didn't feel like he was just going through the motions. He seemed to really take it interest in my problems. He discussed with me my limitations and we went through the procedures I needed to do. The two young ladies who had helped me with my knee injections were very professional and friendly. All in all, a five star visit and I would definitely recommend them to others.

Going to the doctors as we know it, is not fun. No one looks forward to it. But, if I’m going to go, Desert orthopedic on Centennial Pkwy is the place to go. I was first greeted like family by a very kind and knowledgeable staff member by the name of Brianna. I was then taken back shortly after and the process from my x-Ray tech to the doctor that took her time with me were professional and caring! Overall my experience was great. My wife and I were extremely impressed with the level of professionalism and attention to detail by both Doctor Kang and the staff of Desert Orthopaedic Center (DOC). The purpose for my visit was to find out if a total knee replacement was required. Prior to meeting Dr. Kang, I did extensive research on both the procedure and the best doctor and facility to perform it. The clinic was easy to find and it was clean and modern looking. Everybody was friendly, professional and knew what they were doing. Dr. Kang really knew his profession and we were very confident in him, his nurse and also PA Janika. The only criticism I have is the wait time was excessive, over an hour, compared to the under 5 minutes we actually spent with the doctor. I was referred by my PCP and scheduled to see Dr Kang BUT I saw another doctor. I was NOT informed I wouldn’t see Dr Kang at check in. I had to ask the physician what options were available to me concerning my knee besides a knee replacement. A patient shouldn’t have to ask what their options are, all options should be presented at the visit. I would give 3 stars because the attending physician was nice and medical assistant was great, he made you feel at ease. The front office check in girl was very rude!! The 2nd check in girl, who took the insurance cards was very pleasant. I’m conflicted if I’d refer anyone to this office .
I’m definitely not having a knee replacement by any physician at this facility based on my first impressions.

My appointment with Dr Kang was at 11:15, I arrived at 11:10 and waited for an hour to be called into a room, once settled in to the room I asked the nurse how much longer will it be before I see Dr Kang? The nurse explained that it would be at least an hour more before Dr Kang would be able to see me, after putting 2 & 2 together I realized that Dr Kang was out to lunch, he expected me to sit in a room until he finished lunch and got back to the orthopedic center, needless to say this didn’t sit well with me and I left.
I’ll not reschedule the appointment with Dr Kang and for any doctor to schedule appointments during their lunch hour and expect their patients to sit while they stuff their faces full of food, shame on you!

Dr. Kang it is a very skilled surgeon, he did my hip surgery on my left hip about 8 years ago for a labral tear. I was about 20 years old and in really bad shape, and it hurt for the first year or two, so he told me that I needed to do some exercise, and because I was young I should be focusing more on doing things like squats and more physical exercise to rebuild muscle after surgery. And he also gave me really good instructions on taking the pain medications for realistic pain goals, and now it is today I don't even feel my hip. It feels like brand new. And it was also kind of funny because after I got my surgery, about 2 weeks later I found out he was my next door neighbor LOL. But the guys are real nice guy, he's very common sense and easy to talk to. The best part is he puts everything in layman's terms so you don't have to be a doctor to understand him. I would would definitely recommend him to anybody for hip surgeries and he did a much neater job than an SDSU doctor who did a hip surgery on my other hip. Even though I don't feel pain on my other hip, I always feel a slight uncomfortableness, which I don't think I would have happened if I had Dr Kang do it. Thanks a bunch for helping me out when I needed it and you're the best hip surgeon I know.

My Mom went into surgery for a knee replacement on Dec 21st. A nurse was supposed to come over on the 22nd to help her with PT. No one came over, my parents had left numerous messages Dr. Kang never called back or called to check if the nurse came by. Nothing!!! I have seen a great number of orthopedic specialists and he is definitely the most knowledgeable and helpful ortho specialist I have seen in Las Vegas in my 53 years of living here.

I've had a number of specialists who were "okay" at their profession but he excels above anyone I have seen during my 13 knee surgeries and my THREE total knee replacements.

Dr Kang was excellent, explaining x-rays, treatment plan, etc. it did take a long time to see him as I’m certain he’s very busy. I had an 11:30 appointment but was told to be there by 11:00. I was greeted immediately however I had completed pre-visit documents on line and she said I had not. I had to move to another window to “complete” only for them to learn they actually were complete. That was painful due to limited mobility. We were not called back until almost 12:30. Then my xrays has not been sent over (not DOC’s issue), but was then asked to walk to X-ray for more films. That added almost another :45 minutes. So timeliness and communication could have been better however Dr Kang was relational, informative and pleasant.

Minimally invasive surgery is terrific, if you have a surgeon owning the skill who is able to pull it off with exceptional results. Recovery time is more swift. I had a total hip replacement on the left side. I was 69 and it has been almost 2 years since the surgery. I worked out to the day before going under. Had a minimally invasive procedure done by Doctor Parminder Kang. It was admirably successful! I walked the 1st day, was out of the hospital on the 4th. Driving and walking naturally on day 7. I was at the gym lightly doing my regular workout 10 days post surgery. I didn't want to do anything stupid. I just wanted to get back into the swing of things. I allowed enough time for the soft tissue to heal. At a month's time, I was going full bore. At 4 months, there was nothing I couldn't do. I was back to riding horses. I had my life back! Absolutely the worst! If I could have given zero stars I would have! I had two appointments and waited (in the waiting room) an hour just to wait even longer in the exam room! At my last appointment I waited 45 minutes, and when I asked what is taking so long, I was finally told that the Dr. is running an hour behind. What?! Why couldn't they have told me that 45 minutes prior when I first checked in? What is the purpose of making an appointment if they make you arrive early and then wait for over an hour to call you back? The staff has absolutely no regard for anyone else's time--which apparently is less valuable than theirs! Needless to say I will not be making another appointment at DOC; I'll be finding a different doctor!

Dr. Kang is the one to see if you have a hip problem. I suffered from hip and low back pain for years and put off having surgery because previous doctors said I needed a total hip replacement or surgery for a torn labrum. I spent a lot of money on diagnostic radiology that was unnecessary.
Dr.Kang diagnosed my problem right off the bat and performed surgery to remove the metal hardware in my hip. Now I am pain free. Thank-you Dr. Kang and Desert Orthopedic Center.

My name is Claudette J. Vrbka, today is July 19, 2022. Last month I was refered to Dr. Kang by another orthopedic surgeon because Dr. Kang was known to be a good doctor that is a specialist in orthopedic surgery's. I scheduled an appointment with Doctor Kang and was impressed. My surgery for a complete hip replacement was scheduled for today by his nurse in his office here in Las Vegas, NEVADA.
The hospital called and informed me prior to my surgery as to the date and time and where to be for surgery.
WHEN I SHOWED UP FOR SURGERY IN MY UBER RIDE I ENTERED THE HOSPITAL AND WAS SPOKEN TO BY ADMISSIONS. THE ADMISSIONS PERSONAL INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS NOT A SURGERY SCHEDULED FOR ME TODAY. I HAVE PAPER WORK THAT SHOWS MY SURGERY DATE FROM THE DOCTORS OFFICE. I AM ALONE HERE IN NEVADA. NO FAMILY OR FRIENDS CAN COME AND HELP ME PHYSICALLY.
I GIVE UP, IT HAS BEEN LIKE TALKING TO A BOX OF CRACKER JACKS. A JOKE. EOPLE DO NOT DO WHAT THEY ARE TRAINED OR PAID TO DO.
