Last night I took a mother to the ER. The doctor was excellent—fast, attentive, and very clear.

However, I am very concerned about the initial nursing intake.

My mother arrived with a blood pressure of 205/98 and was very ill and struggling to communicate in Spanish, yet important information like medications, allergies, and symptoms was taken but not effectively passed on. The doctor had to ask everything again from the beginning.

The hospital’s system was down, which makes accurate handoff even more critical. If I had not been there to repeat that my mother could not take a certain medication, I am genuinely worried about what could have happened if she had become unconscious or unable to communicate.

There was also confusion with placement, including an attempt to place her on a dirty bed, and very limited guidance until another nurse intervened and moved us.

I am grateful for the doctor’s care, but I am extremely concerned about the breakdown in communication. In an ER, especially when a patient arrives with a blood pressure of 205/98 and the computer system is down, patient safety depends on critical information being accurately transferred between staff—not on a family member being there to repeat everything and prevent a potentially dangerous mistake.

The staff from check in to seeing the doctor has been an amazingly wonderful experience. My condition is not best but they always make me feel so good being seen by them. I appreciate them and I’m only still here because of them. I drive an hour and half to reach them. I would drive double that just to see them. I will always be so thankful that they help me so much! I have only good things to say about this office. I have seen Kelli Biggans PA and 2 of the doctors in this office and they have all been excellent. They have been very accommodating when it comes to diagnostics as they know I have to travel almost 2 hours to see them and I really appreciate that.

Tell the doctor I need hydrocortisone 2.5 Because I have severe itching tells me I can get her over-the-counter. I even had a little tube that they had given to me, but I took his word for and no that’s only one percent over-the-counter then when I told the doctor that different things that had wrong with me, which was three different things told me I had too many things going on. ( Excuse me for being sick ) And then on top of it, I took a fall hit my hip hurt my leg. I asked her for three days off. She tells me no only two Since she didn’t have the pain so now I pretty much went there didn’t get the medication that I wanted all the time off that I needed

I had a CT scan on 23rd June at this location. The CT scan tech was very inexperienced in giving the contrast. She Filipina entered it in the right hand which was excruciatingly painful. I was in the CT scan screaming with pain. She wouldn’t stop. She punctured my vein but the contrast leak from it. It started making a big bubble under my skin. She kept making light. Laughing loudly. Once she failed she pulled it out and called another nurse non Asian who she called to give it go. Her attempts were twice first left arm then right. Then she kept inspecting what the first girl did and asked why I had red spots where the other gal pierced. This technician assigned is not trained. They cannot be chatting over my head about taking up a shift, asking for numbers of a gal who was supposed to to come in and wasn’t. Where is the level of professionalism? There should not be unrelated conversations in a CT Scan. And they should not go “your veins don’t like me”. Then the typical nervous laugh. I think the second nurse felt the first nurse made a mistake. The needle was in my vein and leaked the contrast from the vein making a bubble and causing severe pain. She evaluated red spots that appeared. She spent sometime checking the area Pearced. We don’t need untrained techs doing whatever they like unsupervised. Thinking they will get away with it..

My wife had an appointment today for an ultrasound, we checked in at front desk so I have to say she was very friendly but going downstairs where we waited for her to be called in, I have to say the the staff has to be the worse ever. Let’s just the say that surten people just shouldn’t have a job on the medical field and should change their career path. We waited for an hour like they said they would but that wasn’t the issue, they skipped us and called another patient that had just arrived so when my wife told the ultrasound tech by the name of Sam that why we she was skipped she just tried to ignore her and said sorry I just graved any patient chart and was so rude about it her whole visit. My wife asked to speak to her manager but of course one is never in the building! Sam the tech gave my wife the managers phone number by the name of Amy so she called but didn’t get an answer so she left Amy a voicemail. All this happened at the Rancho location. Hope that helps for those that are looking to schedule at this location but I guess when you don’t have a choice due to appointments availability then we take what we can get!!!!

I got right in to see the Doctor. She was very thorough with her questions about my accident. She showed concern for my health and made decisions about the CT scan and X-Rays. She followed up with me before I was discharged. I knew the extent of my injuries and what to do next. She wrote two prescriptions, and I left feeling well cared for. The technicians who performed the CT scan were pleasant and professional, and they completed the procedure efficiently and quickly. I was put at ease and never felt uncomfortable during the process. The results were comprehensive and helpful. I could not imagine a better experience after a painful accident. From check-in to examination, CT scan, and comprehensive X-rays, and an overview, I received excellent care.

Just wanted to leave a quick shout out to the staff at the Urgent Care on Rancho. The entire staff was great from the moment I walked in the door. I do have many health issues and visit the doctor on a very regular basis. When I have an issue I go to Urgent Care. They are always ready to help. I love the hospitality and the way they treated and cared for us. I went there for iron infusions five times, and each time they treated me the same as my first visit.

They even provided snacks for both me and my mom to help us relax. We were there for only 15–20 minutes, but they still offered us snacks and made us feel very comfortable.

Southwest Medical Associates Treatment Center: I have been coming here for years every 6-8 weeks for infusion therapy. These people are the best! Many times, they have fit me in when my day has taken a wrong turn. They are always nice, efficient and skilled. I can’t recommend them enough. I had to go into urgent care at Rancho on Wednesday morning for chest pain and pain in my back. I am 27weeks pregnant and is my first baby so I was freaking out thinking the worst. I appreciate the nurses and the doctor that was there that night to help me. They jumped on it right away to make sure I wasn’t an emergency. They were very careful and attentive. They calmed me down. I am happy to hear it wasn’t anything serious and I probably just panicked but they still went the extra mile to make sure I was ok. They weren’t able to do an ultrasound on the baby but the fact that they put a Doppler on me to hear the babies heart beat meant a lot to me cause I was worried I was losing her. Amazing staff you don’t find that often in Nevadas health care.

Uncaring, cold, and unsympathetic from the Medical Assists to the Cardiologist they don’t listen to you and seem to think you are beneath them and really try to make you feel worse than before you arrived for your appointment and if your elderly they really treat you badly!! After I told dr Barbarash that I was bed ridden and to weak to do anything for Christmas because of my symptoms she tells me to have my relatives visit me!☹️😡 I told her none of my relatives live in the country! She told me to still have them visit me! I guess she thinks we all have doctors money even during these trying financial time!😣🤬

Went in for a check up regarding an area on my scalp that didn’t seem to clot for hours. Check in was nice, however I had to make another return trip for my ID and insurance card being forgotten. Assisted by two nurses, one Filipina and Latina, both rude as hell, lol. Filipina nurse asked me how I am, told her how I am doing, then nonchalantly pushed it aside by saying “oh no, what’s your height”. If you’re going to push that aside, don’t ask ask me how I am then? Couldn’t hear the Latina nurse when she asked me a question, so I let her know that, and she proceeded to raise her voice at me. Doctor was respectful and I was in and out. Nurses are rude and honestly don’t expect coming back to having to deal with their rude personalities, lol. But thank you to the doctor for assisting me fast and to the point.

Last August I visited Southwest Medical Associates for a possible eye infection. I paid in cash since I was told my insurance was not accepted. I was given some medicine which made my eyes look much worse. I returned the next day for the same ailment. The next doctor told me to discontinue the use the previous practitioner gave me. She gave me new medicine. I was guaranteed I would only be billed once. Despite the medicine I was given there was no improvement.

None of the medicines I was given had any affect on the condition even though I used the second group of medicines for a 1.5 weeks.

I found an herbal remedy online and the issue was gone in less than two days.

I am still receiving bills despite calling and emailing multiple times.

It's a good idea to steer clear of this place.

I've been going here for at least 7+ years, this place is my go to for urgent care needs. I went as a patient twice so far this year 2022, and I brought my mom here as well . All the front desk staff and medical assistants in the back are very kind and helpful. For providers I've seen APRN Maria De Larazzabal and Dr. Kwang Shin, and my mom had Dr. Cuong Tran. They are all great providers and actually take the time to observe your signs and symptoms, diagnose and treat you properly, and are always very helpful in answering your health concerns and questions.
