This eye specialist group was Fabulous!! All the staff was so helpful & kind. Her Retina specialist was named, Dr. Mannina>> his chairside manner was so kind & gentle. I took My mom there for retina issues. She has felt so much relief & seeing better, (diabetes) less blurry and relief from eye strain. Her appt is to go for now every 2 Mos. for injection 💉 in the affected eye. She loved feeling so cared for. So we will return in 2 mos for more retina injections. The nurses & front staff was efficient & nice.

I brought my 90 year-old mother who looks like she's 70. The doctor and the nurses were so kind to her. She was so comfortable that she has no problem going back for the procedure once a month. She's not scared to go back and she is very grateful to the staff. She said the doctor was so kind and gentle and all of the medical assistance were so polite as her daughter I would recommend this place because of how comfortable they make people seem, and the knowledge they had.

I recently started to work with RETINA CONSULTANTS OF Nevada. My retina specialist is Dr. Wickens. He works out of 2 offices, but for my Reinal Laser treatments I go to the Maryland Pkwy. Location.
Dr. Wickens is very good with Retinal work. These are my first time receiving laser surgery. Dr. Wickens is a busy Dr. and very talented. I trust him with my diagnosis and laser surgery procedures. He has a good support team that is always available to answer any questions. I would recommend Dr. Wickens and his team!

This review comes easy after my last visit that I did not have a good experience. But today everyone was so incredibly professional. I had a doctor who took me through the steps and explained my condition and what I needed to do..perfect. He had a great, 'so-called" bedside manner.
Seniors need that❤️, I walked away, knowing exactly what I had to do.
I will return, thank you x 1000.
My only complaint is the bathrooms. The majority of the people that I saw come through there were elderly. That restroom situation in that building/floor is crazy. To find a key, walk around the hall, you see a restroom sign on a wall in the hall. And as you turn you see, 2 doors, 1's the janitor door and the other is idk. For someone who has to go in a hurry, that is not ideal, you put the women's sign on THAT DOOR, not in the hall. Last time I was there, I wondered around, not able to get in any of those doors with the key. So I had to ride all the way home without using the bathroom. It was terrible. My Uber driver wanted to pull over somewhere for me. Sure it's a beautiful building, but that bathroom situation 0 points for that. So if your Uber driver gets you there before 8 o'clock, there is no key to be found. Very uncomfortable.

Dr Maninna is totally top notch and I can’t say enough good about him. All of his Assistants treat you with care and respect but, they do have someone at the front desk is beyond rude and definitely needs a course in Customer Service.

I was understandably nervous about a problem with my eyesight when I entered the office. The staff was extremely respectful and kind. It wasn’t crowded and there was no long wait. The woman who took me to the exam room was very pleasant, gave good instructions and had a great voice for the job. The doctor was able to treat an unexpected situation in a way that allowed me to stay calm and comfortable and he gave good instructions that made a difficult situation much less stressful. I am very satisfied with the care and treatment I experienced.

I had a visit with the retina specialist, and overall the doctor was knowledgeable and professional. The specialist did a thorough examination and explained things clearly, which I appreciated.

However, the cost was very high. Aside from the copay, I was also charged additional fees for testing, even with insurance. This made the visit quite expensive.

I am also still concerned because my headaches were not clearly explained. I was told that the pain may not be related to my eye and could possibly be due to stress, but I was hoping for a more definite answer.

Overall, the doctor is skilled and competent, but the high cost and lack of clear explanation for my symptoms were disappointing.

I had an appointment for 8 am on the 18th I was led to believe the eye exam would take to hours. Got there and had to wait an hour and a half because the doctor comes in at 9. I am confident that me coming in and hour late I would be turned away. Why make patient wait for no other reason then the doctor comes in at 9, I am sure the doctor would not appreciate; an 1 1/2 hrs wait for a fifteen minute exam. Give us the same respect and consideration you would expect.

I was told of a concern my ophthalmologist had on a Friday and that I needed to see a retina specialist. They were able to get me in Monday morning. I was able to register online, check-in at a kiosk at the office and I was taken back 1 minute prior to my appointment time. Everyone was pleasant, efficient, professional, and reassuring. Was told by several other ophthalmologists to see them. And to be told there is nothing wrong, but yet come back to get another check up…. Not impressed. There is a sense of arrogance in the doctors. Dr. Loo is a great doctor! He took care of my mother’s macular degeneration and now he is taking care of mine. The treatment I received yesterday went into effect quickly. There was a bit of discomfort that I called in about. The doctor’s assistant returned my call and addressed my concerns in a timely manner.

I wish I could give no stars! This is my first time at this location, since Dr. Calvo retired. The doctor that I saw was rude and insensitive and impersonal. He cut me off, would not let me speak, or explain my situation since the last time I saw Dr. Calvo. I had the worst experience I’ve ever had with an eye doctor. The staff and nurses were very friendly, but the doctor was Horrible! I will never be returning to Retina Consultants of Nevada!

The staff is very courteous. The techs and nurses are super friendly, professional and accomodating. Dr. Wickens, however, is one of the best doctors I have eve seen. His professionalism and and his "matter of factly" attitude toward his diagnoses are both unexpected and refreshing, as well as put your "what ifs" at rest. He is extremely polite without sugarcoating issues and then provides you time to think of all the questions you need to ask. I highly recommend this office and especially Dr. Wickens for all related eye issues. Thank you!

Dr.Loo and staff have been wonderful during my visits. I had to have an emergency retina repair and they expedited everything for me. Amazon sells face down pillows, correction glasses and recovery equipment much cheaper than the companies they gave me pamphlets for. I am very thankful for the surgery center staff as well.

I like that the staff and Dr. Calvo at the Maryland park way office were very attentive to me. I am deaf and there is but so much to communicate with people. This location is the worst. Front desk staff very rude and not pleasant at all.
Overall, not very good customer service.
Waited over 4 hours at another location along with 25 other patients, only to have my appointment pushed to another time and location.
They didn't even refund the co-pay for anyone.

The staff was not very attentive. However the overall service was professional and did not take all day. I should add that the kios (sign in computer) malfunctioned for myself and several persons after my check in. There were many older patients there that did not feel comfortable with the computer check in process, there was no staff to help them, luckily other patients helped. I felt confident with the test, staff that performed test and the Specialist.

Being a long way from home they did everything to make me feel comfortable in a very scary situation and fixed the situation with issue quick and efficiently to get me back where I could enjoy my vacation as much as possible. For a 5 minute doctor’s appointment, the wait time is excessive (more than 2 hrs). Dr Wickens really just reviewed my test results and my health declaration, examined my eyes briefly but did not discuss potential fixes or follow up therapy options. What is the follow up in 6 months for? A complete waste of time. Yet everyone on the staff was friendly and accommodating.

I was referred to Dr. Calvo and called to schedule a new patient appointment. Sadly to have found that Dr. Calvo is no longer with that practice. Extremely deceptive is that they have his photo as the first photo of providers. I wouldn't have wasted my time if his photo was not showing I'm not sure if that's any kind of deceptive business practice or whatnot. I use to hate seeing a doctor, I hate it even more when going to a specialist for one thing on your body. Dr. Jason Wiggin and staff at Retina Specialist of Las Vegas changed that additude in me. One of thee best staff I’ve ever met. Very kind and friendly staff at the office on Maryland parkway. Dr. Wiggin is very up front and professional about his advice but more importantly makes the patient feel comfortable about any situation you have to face. I go here periodically to get my shot in my eye and it is a godsend to protect my vision and the folks here at Retina are outstanding.

Had an appointment today as new patient referred by the local VA (I'm 100% Service Connected btw). The building was torn down and no "real" signage to inform NEW patients where they had moved. (There is banner at the crater that was the building only a small plastic banner low to the ground blocked almost completely by vehicles parked at the site listing 8+ (guess) different offices' relocation addresses in print you must exit your vehicle and walk up to see clearly do to size, BUT the address listed for their office is also not their new location) No one in the hospital or doctors building nearby knew anything about how to find them and gave me more addresses to check out... all wrong. Tried to call multiple times but their phone is only answered after 8AM (MY APPT WAS AT 7:30AM) As a new patient and new to Las Vegas I was completely lost, GPS of no help. Once I did finally get to the correct location (Googled and tried each address in turn), I was understandably stressed as I have SEVERE agoraphobia which is a product of my PTSD, and this situation caused me to be several minutes late. Once inside I tried talking to the receptionist, stating that although I sounded upset, it was just my anxiety and that I just wanted to let them know that they needed better signage for their office, and they should let all new patients know that there is difficulty in finding their new office. She also informed me that they don't answer their phone until 8AM. The receptionist was not understanding at all and repeatedly stated that I was being hostile towards her, which I continued to deny and repeatedly told her it was my anxiety making me sound like that. I finished by stating that that if they are scheduling appointments at 7:30am that SOMEONE should be answering their phones at that time. But after she again stated that I was being hostile when in actuality she was starting to show signs of real aggression. I bet she was 5 seconds from escalating the situation and things would have gone sideways from there. I told her to "cancel the appointment and all future ones if they exist as I will never return that that office again". I'd rather go completely blind. No training on dealing with the sick and/or disabled. PEREOD. I will inform the VA and file a complaint so they are aware of how this nation's veterans can be treated at that location. No empathy at all. Sensitivity training should be required. RETRAIN YOUR STAFF.

UPDATE: The VA has removed this provider from their system and will no longer refer veterans there.

I had an appt April 11 and I was very upset when I scheduled my next appt. The MD stated to go back in 6weeks but I have issues on my schedule, so I have to extend it but the lady at the desk really insisted that it had to be 6weeks. Dr. Calvo and his staff at the Maryland Parkway location were extremely professional and caring. He introduced himself, shook our hands, and explained the procedure to us. My 93 y/o was nervous about the AVASTIN injection, but Dr. Calvo and his staff reassured her and made my mom feel at ease almost immediately with excellent bedside manners. The injection was actually quick and painless for my mom and she is able to see more clearly now. Following up in a few weeks for a follow up injection. Tried to make an appt with what turned out to be a retinal tear- was told by appt operator that i need to see a general ophthalmology first- explained i know it to be retinal, and she asked the appt supervisor who after i explained symptoms, said in her opinion, should see a general ophthalmologist- when i asked to speak to a higher up, they transferred me the office business manager who put me on voicemail and never returned my call. I had to call another office and had retinal laser surgery for a tear that day.

My doctor is great, but the billing staff ***ALWAYS*** makes errors on my monthly statements...and REFUSES to correct the errors, despite what my insurance company tells them about what is and is NOT billable. For instance, when they take pictures of the back of my eye through a camera, they bill it as an "x-ray," which it's not! So, I DO pay what I'm supposed to pay...only. UPDATE: After speaking with the senior billing executive NUMEROUS times and at great length...he said he would fully research the matter, fix all of the errors, then contact me again with a resolution. THAT WAS TWO MONTHS AGO! I'M STILL WAITING...SMH.

On 2/12/2020, had lost sight in left eye without any warning in the days prior to this date that Dr Wickens performed emergency laser surgery for a horseshoe tear/detached retina.
