Dr. Chen completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University. He attended medical school at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Chen underwent general and advanced interventional fellowship training at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is a member the Nevada State Medical Association and Clark County Medical Society. Dr. Chen has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Las Vegas Valley Division of the American Heart Association. He is currently serving as the Chief of the Division of Cardiology for Sunrise Hospital.

Dr. RICHARD CHEN, at the Nevada Cardiology and Associates, continues to be the BEST cardiologist in Las Vegas, and as far as we are concerned the whole state of Nevada. This time, I brought my young 20 year old daughter to him a couple of weeks ago due to a rare high cholesterol condition, which we thought could affect her heart. Dr. Chen was brilliant with his treatment and explanations to my daughter regarding her scary health condition. He truly possess a magical way if you will, of making the patient feel that there’s hope and a cure to their condition irregardless of its gravity. WE HIGHLY RECOMEND Dr. Chen, and his knowledgeable staff at Nevada Cardiology and Associates. Trinity is also his superb Medical assistant. They will help you too..

I wouldn't recommend for out-of-pocket. I called here asking to visit Dr. Richard Chen.
1. I called another Cardiologist after visiting that's closer and also rated well, and it was less than half the price for an out of office visit (120$) at Intermountain Health Warm Springs Clinic - Cardiology and you get to visit a Dr.
2. They don't allow you to see the Dr. until multiple visits or it's approved at Richard Chen's offices. So you pay twice the price to visit a Nurse Practitioner.
3. The nurse practitioner was nice and everything but felt like discounted my history of high BP. Basically ran a test based on my age (under 50) and current reading (low in office) and said I had less than 2% chance for a Cardiac issue over the next 10 years. I think she was ready to dismiss me at this point until my wife mentioned I've had high average readings for over 10 years, not to mention I had several readings in the 180+ region over a week just a couple weeks prior and had since been at least 160+ consistently. So, eventually they then assigned me a Echocardiogram and Stress Test to come back too.
4. The Echocardiogram went fine seemed professional but I never got to view my results. I had called later and asked their staff to forward my results to the new Dr. and they said they would, but never did. So basically, wasted another close to 300$.

I have been examined by Cleveland Clinics Heart cardiologists in Cleveland, Ohio, Cedars Sinai of Los Angeles, Cardiologists, and UCLA cardiologists..... the 3 cardiologists I mentioned earlier are all qualified and thorough..... but NEVER Have I had a better experience than with
Dr. Richard Chen Cardiologist in Las Vegas, Nevada.... His Professionalism, patience and quality time that he spent with me, and he listened to all my complaints and completely knew my chart history and cardiac background thoroughly. It’s the first time I never had a cardiologist know my heart history and recited it to me without ANY NOTES IN FRONT OF HIM. He solved my cardiac problems for me.
Dr Chen’s background and qualifications were referred by my concierge Internist, Dr.Candace Tung who is world class as well. If not for Dr. Candace Tung of Las Vegas and Dr Richard Chen.... I truly feel I would not be here today.

Just had my first visit with Dr Chen and I was impressed! I've known of his excellent reputation for years, and can honestly say, it is well deserved. His staff was incredible. They appeared to be genuinely happy as well as efficient and friendly. A special acknowledgement to Nicole at the appointment desk. Nicole is the type of person everyone wishes they had on their staff!

Dr. Chen is a very amiable fellow, easy to speak with and is not in a rush to get you out of the office until every issue is addressed. Most staff are the same with the exception of the unavoidable office grinch!
