I do not typically leave negative reviews, but my experience with Sagebrush Health Rheumatology – Rainbow was incredibly disappointing and honestly concerning from a patient care standpoint.

From the beginning, communication and follow-through were extremely poor. After completing bloodwork and discussing treatment, there were repeated delays in submitting and following up on my infusion authorization. I spent months trying to advocate for myself while dealing with severe RA pain, increasing loss of mobility, and daily symptoms that were significantly impacting my quality of life.

Phone calls were not returned, follow-up was inconsistent, and even after insurance approval was obtained, I still could not get a callback to schedule treatment despite multiple attempts. At no point did I feel there was urgency or concern for the fact that I was actively struggling physically.

I ultimately returned to a previous rheumatologist who was able to see me immediately, complete updated labs the same day, offer interim treatment options, and move my infusion process forward immediately.

I understand healthcare systems are busy, but patients with autoimmune diseases should not have to fight this hard for treatment and basic communication.

I had very high expectations for this office and Dr Cabling was highly recommended. I m very disappointed with this office to the lack of follow up . After my appointment, I was told I will be switching medication. They said to wait 2 weeks and call them if I didn’t hear back. I received a denial letter from the specialty pharmacy. It says a copy was sent to provider. I had to call the office multiple times . They said they did not receive a copy . So I have to sent them a copy . It has been a month and no call from the office. I message them at patient portal the third week. No answer. It’s frustrating and stressful for patients who we need medication to feel better.Good communication and timely follow ups are basic expectations.This office unfortunately did not meet them.I felt forgotten rather than care for. I still have not received one single call . I hope they improve their communication and follow up process so other patients do not have the same experience.

I saw a different doctor prior to her and lets just say I left the appointment in tears. I can say 100% that Christine cares about me & would NEVER let that happen. She takes the time to really get to know you. Honestly with some of the conditions people come to her with really needs a doctor who is going to get to know them because that is how they will find out how to treat their conditions. I always feel as if Christine listens to me and I have never felt rushed. I have a lot of comorbid conditions and she takes extra care to make sure I understand my symptoms and what any changes might mean and need. This clinic and Dr. Christine Miguel have given me sudden unexpected relief of my rheumatoid, I’ve had rheumatoid for 5 years now and I had the worst year long flare up while working a full time I was in despair when I was recommended to this place by my primary doctor and not even a month after my pain, swelling and stiffness was down by half or more a month later I only remember the pain also the staff is very sweet and easy to work with as well. Jesus has answered my prayers about relief through this place, highly recommend.

This place is not helpful at all. In order to make an appointment 1st needed an referral from my Dr even though my insurance does not require a referral. My Dr completed this request 10/9. Supposedly someone in this office is reviewing the paperwork in order to make an appointment. I’ve called this office 4 times to follow up. I work as a medical practitioner and I had my first appointment with Dr. Cabling this morning.

I was diagnosed at 18 months with JRA I had an amazing Dr @ UCLA … I haven't experienced a doctor that I feel truly CARES since my time at UCLA (I was a child then.) I am now 23 years old and Christine makes me feel heard, seen and she truly has empathy for her patients. While the staff are exceptional, the specialist and nurse practitioner do not have your best interest. I felt rushed and ignored by the nurse practitioner and specialist. After I reviewed my lab work with my general practitioner, they were astonished by their failure to follow up with further testing. They sent me to another rheumatologist, who then preformed further tests. It turned out that due to their passive approach, they failed to identify that I was suffering from seronegative sjorgens. (The specialist and nurse practitioner stated that I did not test positive for one antibody and could see me in six months for retesting, but they could not do anymore.) I have two other autoimmune, and the current specialist recognized the overlap.
If you have more than one autoimmune, see a specialist who is trained, will listen and understands how one test can effect the diagnosis of another autoimmune.

Today was my 2nd appointment with Christine Miguel. The first appointment I had was great! I really felt like she listened to me and what I am going through. She took time to explain things to me and explained the blood work she wanted done. I am usually so prepared for my doctor visits by looking into my lab woke and what it all means to me and my symptoms. However, I was suffering from so much pain and a migraine i didn't get to prepare myself. Christine is absolutely awesome. It did not mattet that i did not write everything out because she took the time to go through everything and she really explained everything. I told her some concerns i had and asked if we could look into them. Christine actually listened to what I thought and why i thought i needed things looked into. I visited this practice with acute pain in my left knee and significant swelling. Christine Miguel, APRN, was kind, but in my case the visit didn’t resolve the issue. I have chondromalacia, and I left still in a lot of pain and struggling to walk. I felt my concerns weren’t taken seriously and that the inflammation wasn’t addressed.

Thankfully, I later saw a different rheumatologist who treated the inflammation immediately and began further evaluation from day one, which made a big difference. I’m not writing this to harm anyone—just to share my personal experience so others with similar knee problems know what to expect and can make informed decisions.

I was a patient of this facility for several years before the original doctor left at the end of last year. I have visited two since then and had 2 seperate practitioners see me. Today I went in for my regularly scheduled visit. Having lost my insurance two months ago, I took it upon myself to inquire what the out of pocket was for a visit ($150) and went and paid out of pocket for my labs to be done 2 weeks prior. When I showed up for my visit they said they didn't see anyone without insurance, and that they could not provide me with any referrals and couldn't help me further! Unbelievable! Stay far away from this practice. Since the introduction of its new Doctor, their standards have seriously suffered

KUDO'S TO BETSY IN BILLING. After arguing on the phone, for what seemed like an eternity, with someone at the front desk over an insurance issue, I was finally transferred to Betsy in billing. While the previous girl stated there was nothing the office could do regarding the insurance issue (i.e., they were billing an old insurance company rather than my current one), Betsy took care of the problem in less than 60 seconds (no kidding). Where do I even start! Nurse Practitioner Miguel is the best. She is the first person that took her time to listen to my concerns. She didn’t make me feel rushed and I am very happy about that. She even told me to slow down on giving her my history. She did her research on me before I got there and it definitely was a surprise. I was so used to getting careless doctors and she actually made me almost cry in my appointment because of how much she cared. The most absurd thing I have ever heard of is a rheumatology office that does not do FMLA paperwork. Lupus and other arthritic problems is a chronic health problem and we need to protect our jobs!! 😡 There needs to be more rheumatology options in Las Vegas as this is the only one my insurance covers. After having a difficult time with scheduling at another office in the city, I called this place. They are not much better. I received a call stating I need to send my medical records or results before my appointment in November. I have already faxed these twice to the number on the website and given to me by office staff - once when I made the appointment in September and another time in October. I call back seeing how I can send these record other than fax and no one answers. They like to tell you you’re not doing your job, yet they’re not doing their job. I’ve been trying to see a rheumatologist for 5 months now.

Edit: This rheumatology practice is a joke. They are now telling me that if I don’t get my records to them tomorrow, they are going to cancel my appointment. Originally they told me I needed to fax my lab results to them (which I did THREE TIMES) and I confirmed the fax number they wanted me to send it to. The fax was the same number listed on the rheumatology website as well as the number the receptionist gave me. Now they’re telling me they need the referring provider information to fax over my records and then they changed the fax number on me! I told them it doesn’t matter that I have a referring provider because I have a PPO so it shouldn’t matter that somebody’s referring me or not. Now it’s a big pain in the butt to make sure the original provider faxes the records to whole different number rheumatology never gave me.

I had one of my most wonderful appointments ever at Sagebrush Rheumatology. The NP spent the time to listen to my health history, asking detailed questions about my past (including things I hadn’t even thought of!) When I left, I had a plan of action and next steps to take. I know Nevada healthcare is hard to come by but I felt like Sagebrush is really making up for the lack of treatment I have found elsewhere.

I spent 2 and a half months waiting for my Rheumatology appointment only for them to cancel the day before the appointment. Allegedly because of an insurance issue, not really sure as the person didn't speak ENGLISH well !!!! My insurance sent me to these people !!! Also called me the morning before asking for medical records. Why wait till the day before to ask for records ? It takes months to get an appointment with rheumatology so now I'm in fear of running out of medication as this was my 1st appointment. My bloodwork is already a month late. Alot of incompetence here at this clinic.

This medical office is by far the worst I have ever come across. They are unprofessional, lack empathy, and have no respect for others. I love my doctor, he is amazing. It’s difficult to come across a good Rheumatologist doctor and he is one of them. I feel bad for those patients who have no other options but to deal with this staff.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Christine Miguel at Sagebrush Health, and I can't express enough how positive my experience was! My mother has been waiting for well over a year to be seen here. The first appointment they canceled without bothering to call her. The referral date from her primary had passed, but they knew it would be past the original date when they couldn't even get her an appointment until 4 months after scheduling. She drove over 55 miles each direction for this appointment. She managed to get the referral renewed for a year, then called to make an appointment, which was for today. We sat in the office for 20 minutes after checking in to be told we were at the wrong location. This was the address listed on ALL of the paperwork, and no one told her different when making the appointment, and there was no reminder call. Now we're going to be late because they sat in the front office doing their makeup, playing with their nails, and chatting. We get to the new location to find out.... THEY CANCELED THE APPOINTMENT AGAIN! The nurse practitioner wasn't even in the office this entire week. The front desk staff is unable to handle their workload, call patients to reschedule or do reminders, and are completely incompetent. So now my mother has wasted $40 in gas, several hours of her time, and is still suffering terrible from arthritis without even seeing a professional at all. Ridiculous, considering if she didn't show up, we all know she would be charged for a no-show. There is probably no chance she will get any kind of compensation, which is infuriating since they already have no regard for their patients, as seen in several other reviews. It is absolutely pathetic and insanely unprofessional

I got help from a woman called Sai on the phone. She was very kind and helpful. I'll be in Vegas soon and asked her questions. She was patient. Thing is, a lot of people on the phone can be brusque, so that was nice. We shall see how the docs are.

Dr. Marvin Cabling was wonderful and very knowledgeable about my Gout and arthritis issues. Good b bed side manner and friendly. I highly recommend his care if you have these issues. The nurse practitioner Christine was just as wonderful. Helen the medical assistant was sweet when she took my blood pressure, temperature, and weight.

On the day of my appointment I was pleasantly surprised by the office staff and doctor. The appointment went well and I felt like I'd been truly listened to. Unfortunately, when I called back 5 weeks later to ask about referrals to other doctors that had been sent out but never called me, i was transferred between 3 different employees. The first one was nice, but unable to give me the information I needed. So I requested to speak to the medical assistant. She instead, transferred me to the front desk. I wasn't bothered at all, I was being completely nice and simply asked to speak to the office assistant. Then I was transferred to who I believe is the office assistant. I was given the name "Alexis". Now here is where the problem lies. As she was explaining to me the info I requested, I misheard her and asked for clarification. She provided clarification, but sounded irritated with me, and I then apologized for my initial reaction and explained why I had become confused, to which she replied with a long pause and then said "...sure" in the most condescending tone I'd ever heard. I told her I absolutely would not accept being treated in that way, and requested to speak to her manager. She said there was no office manager today and then proceeded to talk over me as i expressed how upset i was at her tone. Good thing those calls are recorded huh?

DONT WORK IN A MEDICAL OFFICE IF YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE AN ATTITUDE WITH YOUR SICK PATIENTS. Some of us are on medications that literally make our ability to understand you much more difficult. I myself suffer from non epileptic seizures, and because of that I take a medication that SLOWS THE ELECTRICAL IMPULSE IN MY BRAIN literally slowing down my ability to process information. You should be fired Alexis. And you should be ashamed.

UPDATE: I have now waited over 2 months for this office to send out the referrals they claimed to send out weeks ago, just to find out they didn't bother to check to make sure my insurance covered the places they referred me to. ALL 3 REFERRALS were made for places my insurance doesn't accept. And the office staff at sagebrush claims it's NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to check coverage. Apparently it's my job to call the number on the back of my insurance card and get that info myself? Since when?! No other doctor in my almost 30 years on this planet has EVER made me do that. And I wouldn't have been able to regardless because YOUR OFFICE DIDNT GIVE ME COPPIES OF THE REFERRALS TO BEGIN WITH. WHAT THE HELL KIND OF OPERATION ARE YOU RUNNING HERE?! DO YOU LIKE SEEING US SUFFER?! SURE SEEMS THAT WAY WITH YOU WASTING PRECIOUS TIME WE (THE CHRONICALLY ILL) DO NOT HAVE. IF WE DID, WE WOULDNT BE SEEING A RHEUMATOLOGIST IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I am delighted that I discovered Dr. Cabling. Having a newly diagnosed autoimmune chronic illness is difficult. It can be terrifying and overwhelming. Dr. Cabling took the time to discuss the overall expectation of the initial treatment and the prognosis of my disease based on my unique lab results. I never felt rushed. I was given full attention. I was given sufficient time to express and clarify any concerns or fears about my health. He examined my joints and extremities to ensure that there was no inflammation. He is thorough. I feel pretty fortunate to have discovered him. I've worked in healthcare for 20 years, and finding a reliable, trustworthy provider in Las Vegas is difficult. I am humbled to have found someone like Dr. Cabling. He is realistic and will support your treatment plan and goals. I hope to continue a healthy patient-provider connection with him over the years. Providers like him must be compensated and recognized for their soft skills and in-depth knowledge of their specialization, and the corporation must hire people who share the same values throughout the organization to preserve a healthy culture in healthcare. Dr.Cabling, thank you so much for your kindness, and please do know that I will give back and extend your kindness to the people I serve.

Dr Robert was great! I wish I didn’t have to leave 1 star BUT it’s the front office staff that’s the issue at this location. Last time I was here I had to wait 15 minutes for their computers to work because she wanted to schedule an appointment. They never scheduled and I had to follow up. Fast forward to today I’m sitting in the lobby waiting for them to figure out how to print up a copy of my labs. I’ve always asked and it’s never been an issue at any other Dr office other than here. It’s now been 20 minutes and nothing. I see myself walking out again with unresolved questions.

do not i stress do not go here if u have a serious medical condition or concerns that you may have one. this office does not have a practicing rheumatoligst from what i was just told. i had issue with all three appointments ive had with them seeing different doctors twice my labs were not in yet once so they decided that i should see another of their doctors way across town 4 months later. this would seriously affect any medical condition i could possibly have. When i finally did speak to the doctor after my labs were back could properly evaluate my labs saying it was to complex and was going to send me to a new doctor ŵho didnt have any different medical background than he did these doctors are dangerous and you will die waiting on a diagnosis help of any kind or even waiting for an appointment. i called a week straight and was supposed to get a reply back to just explain what my labs said and was told i would get a call never did. When i just booked an appointment just to get a read of my labs i was told i needed more help i do have a complex medical history but wasted two months just to hear that when all along i could have been told that i needed to be seen elsewhere. go here and risk your life if you want but lifes to short to be dragged along.

The worst experience just trying to get an appt here then showed up for my appt but it was cancelled because they said my provider did not fax send the referral. Called my Dr and they did send it however sagebrush says they didn’t get it and since they didn’t instead of calling me or my Dr they just cancelled my appt. The next tome I can get in is March. :( super disappointed.

I had to wait 4 months for my first appointment, which is fine. Come to find out that my follow up had to be scheduled months out. Now that the follow-up is approaching, they cancel it with 2 weeks notice. Not reschedule, just simply cancel because the Dr decided he wanted to go part-time. This is a horrible way to run an office.

Valley Oaks Medical (Rainbow location) is the best rheumatology practice in the Valley! I was at a low point. I could barely walk up my stairs or stay alert to drive. I was ignored and told I was fine by multiple doctors — until Dr. Marco Lopez Velazquez. He is the most empathetic doctor I’ve ever experienced. He listens and cares about you. In addition, his staff is top notch. They are always respectful and willing to work with you. If you want to be heard and be treated respectfully, this is the rheumatologist for you.
